Hugo's Tacos Studio City Reviews
There was a line but I didn't have to wait long for my food. Had a chicken burrito combo with fried and a soda. Very delicious and I paid less than $11 for it. I'll definitely come back and try some of their other food.
Love this spot. If you've got dietary restrictions, Hugo's is your friend. There are so many options for every restriction under the Sun, and everything is delicious. If you're gluten free like me, do not miss the churros!
Im giving it a 5 because the tacos were amazing. Had the carne asada and al pastor those alone are worth the 5 stars. Was disappointed they didnt have carnitas. Good tacos, fast service and great horchata. The Guacamole needs a tad more flavor and thats my only complaint but again those taco meats are amazing.
I had a great experience at this restaurant in Los Angeles. The food was delicious, fresh and well prepared and the service was truly outstanding. The staff was welcoming, attentive and professional which made the whole visit very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place and look forward to visiting again.
Long time customer of Hugos as I live a stone's throw away (and remember when it was Jacks burgers). The staff is always friendly and they are efficient to get food out in busy times. I know this may not be "traditional" tacos to some folks but its really nice to have vegan options and also the salsas are fire, I rotate them. My go tos are carnitas or breakfast but I love the new crispy chicken taco. Always hits the spot. I'm glad they added a seating area so we don't need to watch cars honking at the on ramp but bathroom for customers would be nice especially since they provided games to sit and take a load off.
My wife and I were hoping for taco options while driving around. We nearly lost hope but then saw Hugo's out of the corner of our eye! A quick U-turn and we were there and I'm glad we did find it! We got two different options between us and loved both of them. The honey chipotle salsa is the star of the show. Get that and you won't be sorry!
Finally stopped to experience this tasty well known restaurant. I ordered the bowl added carne asada with habanero salsa. Paid $12. Was ok, did not hit my taste buds which I was expecting. Salsa and guac were good and so was the meat. Not enough of the 3.
Hole in the wall that isn't cheap and doesn't taste good. Wish I had gone to Cactus.
This was a mixed experience overall. The chicken in my order wasn’t warm (was dry) and lacked flavor, which was disappointing and really took away from the meal. On the positive side, the tortilla chips were fresh, which I appreciated, even if it felt like a small win. The indoor dining area also looked clean and nicely set up, though it was closed at the time of my visit, so I didn’t get to fully enjoy the space. With better temperature and seasoning, this place could be much stronger, especially since the atmosphere itself seemed promising.
Tasteless, pricy food. Not worth it. Not good. Needed salt. Not enough cilantro. The only thing I liked was the horchata, so 2 stars for that. Not to mention the women working there had mediocre customer service skills, borderline rude/impatient/ just not nice. Would not come here again if someone paid me to…
I really wanted to love this place, especially since I’m new to the area. I ordered two bean, cheese, and rice burritos. One of them had a lot of onions—so much that it overwhelmed the flavor, and I couldn’t eat it since the onions were melted into the cheese. After taking out some of it … I eventually gave up. It’s been tough finding a good Mexican restaurant around here. On a positive note, the atmosphere is beautiful and the staff is very welcoming and friendly. I just wish the food had a bit more flavor, because the experience otherwise was lovely.
I had a bad experience today with small chicken bone pieces in my chicken bowl. The third time it happened I lost interest in finishing my bowl and had to throw out the rest because it was so painful to keep coming across bone pieces in the ground chicken [edit: even a couple of days later and I’m still sore from biting down on the bones.] I have also had the experience of coming home with an order missing all the salsa, lettuce, cotija, and guacamole that I requested on my bowl, but it was too late to go back. They do have yummy food, I especially like their carne asada compared to anything else and the crunchy carne asada taco is very good especially if you add all the fixings they allow - cotija, beans, salsas, and more. If you order online it’s a lot easier to see what options they have available, as it is a lot. Otherwise the taco can be dry, which was my first experience because I didn’t realize there were options when I just stopped by at the counter one day. I think it would be nice if the person who takes the order would point that out to people. I hope they work on these issues.
I ordered good morning burrito and they gave me a burrito full of rice which I don't like that's why I ordered that exact burrito, and rice is not in ingredients list. Waste of my money
Tasteless food. I ordered a burrito bowl and I'm not going back to this place. Food was very dry, beans, asada meat, and very small portion of greens (lettuce). $15 only the bowl (no rice), no drink, it doesn't even come with chips. I feel it was too expensive for what they gave me.
Got there at 8:30 last night and ordered tacos and burritos for the family. Carne Asada. I guess they must have been soon to closing because the meat they served us was inedible. It was all the fatty, grimy pieces that they served us. I had to throw away my burrito and my kids had to rearrange their three tacos into one taco they could eat. They had to know what they as it spanned six tacos and a burrito and didn't care. I was so excited to try this place as I've seen it for years, and now I will never set foot there again.
