Shanghai Rose Studio City Reviews
Very nice place with excellent food in an area with so many other options. It was very clean. The food is excellent and service was good. Highly recommend.
This is the second time we have been here this month. The first time experience was great. Wanted to come back to check consistency and met my expectations . We started eating before I was able to capture the food in pictures. We had to make a reservation for a party of seven and did not have any issues as we were seated straight away. I like this place since everything was fresh and love the experience of ordering instead of your traditional push cart. We were not rushed and enjoyed every moment. This is my go to place since it’s closer than going to Chinatown or SGV.
Well, I got there few minutes before open to service 🎉 if you are craving fresh made food, this is the right place to dig. I got my kung Pao tofu 😋vegetables egg rolls and taro buns 😋😋😋😋 I’m not a Vegan gal but I was craving that ….. I’m very satisfied with my choice 🎉🎉🎉🎉 and YES im coming back often since I live few minutes away 😂
First dim sum restaurant I've ever visited in the valley. This place is a gem. All the food was DELICIOUS and I had leftovers for 2 more meals. It took so much will power not to over eat.
Been here twice, and would go again! They have a wide selection of Chinese food, but the main specialty are the dumplings. All the dumplings are well prepared and taste very good. Would recommend getting the shrimp noodles as well. The prices are well worth the amount of food you will get. Great costumer service as well.
Finally a Chinese Restaurant with delicious flavors!! Happy I found it!! Fresh food !! Excellent attentive Service !! Nice Atmosphere My new favorite place !! Will be back to explore more from the menu!
The staff was very attentive. Glasses were refilled, extra sauces, bowls and plates were provided and left overs were packed up all without us having to ask. Food was delicious! I definitely recommend this place.
They moved down the street! Google has yet to update it. 12050 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604 above the Seven Seas place. Such a nice interior and deliciousnessssss
Yummy 🤤 Thursday night. Not crowded at all. Walked in, was greeted and directed to a table of my choosing. Filled out a sheet for the food order. All the staff are nice and accommodating. Food was good. Best Dumplings 🥟 of 818
Shrimp Hargaw, shrimp rice noodles, and lobster & shrimp dumpling were delicious and chewing.
The dimsum was delicious and the service was very quick and attentive! Our favorites were the shrimp har gow and bbq pork buns. The restaurant also validates parking in the garage right behind it which saved us from the nightmare of looking for street parking. It was a great experience and we will definitely be coming back!

It was good would definitely return. Very nice place. Only gave 4 Star due to it not being on the steam trays but overall good quality food and ingredients
Great lunch special menu. Lots of food for a very reasonable price. Hope it stays that way.

The dim sum and General tso chicken are good but overpriced. Odd music that doesnt fit the decor-think big hair 80s manfro.
Hi this restaurant is located quite adjacent to my lady's location so I'm using it quite often. But after first dine in never did only togo. First of all, servers are all rude and not attentive at all. And charging tea in the Chinese restaurant. However their dumplings are all authentic and very tasty. So usually some short road trip I'm always making togo. Also they have a full bar, so when you are waiting for togo you can sip your favorite tho. Tried all their dumplings and all are great.

It was an average place but pricey for Chinese food. Dim sum was decent but main dishes for me was very average . Lamb was not to my liking.
Yeah, we totally sat outside under some canvas balcony awnings Looking over Venturable Boulevard and it was nice. But the price of the food did not match the quality of the food and for that reason, we will never go back.

Pros: Servers were great and accomodating. Most regular chinese dishes were ok. Cons: Fillet mignon dish was overcooked into ash. As per dim sum: these are not traditional dimsum. Normally dimsum are small one or two bite dumplings that you can pick up with chop sticks. The ones served here are huge. You need a fork and a knife to eat them. Each is at least 5 to 6 bites. Totally defies the point of dimsum. The flavor is whitewashed. Most are lacking in flavor. Just a bunch of shrimp or lobsted or meat mixed with a ton of flour to make a huge ball of unidentifiable substance. No spices or usual veggies to enhance flavor or texture. Also we were there on a Sunday and there were no carts. Just servers bringing stuff from the menu.

I'm a long time customer of Shanghai Rose. We come here strictly for their dim sum. They use to be a 5 star place to eat, but after today, I downgrade them to 2 stars. I understand having to raise prices, $2 - $3 for each dim sum item, I have no problem with that. But when you raise prices and also cut the portion size in half, that's taking it too far. Before I would get 3 bites out of each pork shumai..now they're bite size. Shrimp rice noodle use to have 3 shrimp in each roll...now there's only 2. You get 3 rolls per order with only 6 shrimp total. They use to be $4.89 now they're $7.98. What a joke. Baked pork buns were just a little bigger than a quarter, literally bite size or 2 small bites. The crispy shrimp rolls use to be huge for $6.89, now you get 2 bites in one roll and they're $10.98. Only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because their dim sum is still very tasty. I'm hoping I just came on an off day. A manic Monday perhaps. Going to give them one more try on a Friday or Saturday. If portions remain severely downsized, I hate to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere.

We liked coming to this place, but today the dim sum served was warm on the outside and cold on the inside. It felt like they warmed dip in the microwave. The beans took 1.5 hours to arrive… not a great experience, especially since it was a bday celebration. They brought fresh dim sum after we complained, but it took a while. Don’t come here on a bus Saturday night.
Ordered the beef with broccoli and vegetable fried rice. Disappointed with the taste of both, it lacked flavor and seasoning. Definitely not worth the price. $21 for beef and broccoli??
Staff is rude to dashers service is poor will never eat there again very uncomfortable atmosphere!! If I could give 0 stars to rate I would do so!
This restaurant used to be great😇 but the quality and service ha s severely dropped. Let's start with the food🍘 it came out Luke warm and taste like frozen🧊 store bought dumplings. The noodles were bland and just soggy. The service🥶 was just terrible and the manager💩 or owner💩 is just rude. In total my night was a waste of money and time. I would avoid this place just overall a bad experience.🤮
