The Lowery Sunnyside Reviews
My daughter took me here today for Mother’s Day and I have to say “It was absolutely delicious”. She ordered several appetizers for the table as there was five of us, then our main course. My daughter was shocked to see that I ate everything because when you get older you don’t eat as much but I ate everything and dessert too. I will definitely recommend The Lowery to all my friends. The staff were lovely and were very attentive. It was really busy but the staff were so attentive so I’ll be back again soon. Thank you to the wonderful staff for making Mother’s Day very special❤️
We’re regulars of the Lowery and 5 stars isn’t enough to describe the experience at this Irish pub. Recently they organized our wedding and we’ve been even more amazed by the quality of the food, the drinks and the service. The Lowery is sourcing products from the best in NY and the staff is trained to make sure customers enjoy every moment there. Once again Anne and the Lowery staff thanK you so much from the bottom of our heart for making our wedding an unforgettable moment! ❤️
The Lowery is great every time: friendly, personal service; varied menu; tasty food; warm neighborhood vibe. This is our local—we’re there once a week at least, always happily welcomed by the excellent staff, and always pleased with our food and drinks. Highlights: pretzel, lobster roll, flatbreads, fried pickles, steak bowl, pickle martini, margaritas. Tons of outdoor seating, a nice long bar, and comfy, spacious tables. They do a great brunch, too.
The Lowery has one of my favorite burgers in Queens, and top 5 I’ve had in NY. It’s one that you still crave even after eating it, and end up getting at least once a week. My next on the menu would be the fried chicken sandwich which is also a solid choice. Their salads are so fresh and tasty as well. You honestly can’t go wrong with anything during brunch and they never disappoint.
I had the pleasure of visiting the establishment a couple weeks ago where Audrina, the bartender, and Jane, the server, work, and I must say, they truly made my experience unforgettable. Audrina's mixology skills were top-notch, and she crafted the most delicious cocktails with a smile. Jane's impeccable service and attention to detail ensured that my dining experience was seamless and enjoyable. However, I couldn't help but notice that the owner, Ann, displayed a rather disappointing attitude. Her rudeness and lack of hospitality were quite disheartening. It's the exceptional service from Audrina and Jane that keeps me coming back to this place, despite the owner's behavior. They are the true gems of the establishment, and I highly recommend visiting for their exceptional service alone.a
Great service and good atmosphere. Had brunch food is not hyper typical of brunch which was refreshing, so many menus seem to be copy pasted and this one did some fresh things - I had the smoked salmon avocado toast which was very fresh. Little higher price point but I felt like I got what I paid for.
Went to Lowery last week for first time and will definitely be going again!! Food was outstanding (I had the chicken sandwich which was delicious and my partner had the Lobster Roll and said it was one of the best he has ever had). Also love that they do nightly drink and food specials so we had lots of options. Service and staff were incredible. Lovely neighbour spot, can’t wait to be back!!
Fantastic! Absolutely loved the “realness” of the house made veggie burger with blackbeans and mushroom. Seriously, one of the best veggie burgers I’ve in my 60 years. Complex yet subtle flavors, great texture, crispy on the outside, burger-like(not mushy) on inside. The bun was delicious and made at a local artisan bakery. I am not a big meat eater, but I just had to taste the award winning house made Lowery Burger….Delicious! If I were a regular meat eater, THIS burger would become a weekly habit. Oh.. and the atmosphere? Warm, Welcoming and Clean. And the servers and bartenders? friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. I found the Lowery “passing through” to another destination. I live two rivers and a few bridges away, but the Lowery is now going to become a Destination, for me, as a regular treat for this girl from Jersey. Do yourself a favor, visit the Lowery, you, too, will become a regular!
One of my favorites of all time! Staff is incredibly attentive, they have the best veggie burger in town and the overall amazing vibe. They are also dog friendly (you need to have service dog proof as with all places for inside dining) with a cozy atmosphere. Love!
The Lowery is a quintessential neighborhood pub and restaurant; exactly what you need when you need it. We have been there on so many occasions: outdoor drinks, family get togethers and we've taken many out of town visitors here. We love it every time. I cannot stress how wonderful the service is here! Everyone is so kind and attentive.
One of the first places I stopped in at when I moved to Sunnyside in 2019 and still try to get there once a month or so. And I come back (alone or with friends) because it is such a friendly, welcoming place and the food is damn good. I’ve worked through almost the whole menu at this point so I don’t doubt everyone can find something to their taste. Hard to pick a personal favorite but maybe the roast beef sandwich. Keep up the great work and see you soon!
Phenomenal dinner! The service was amazing, the staff was friendly and attentive. All of the food was absolutely delicious (beef bourguignon and mash was especially good). The ambiance and space itself was cozy and lovely!
I recently visited the Lowery Bar & Kitchen and had an amazing time! From the moment we arrived, the delightful wait staff made us feel welcome and attended to our every need. The food came out incredibly fast and tasted absolutely delicious. We were blown away by the quality and flavor of every dish we ordered. The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for a night out with friends or a romantic dinner for two. The indoor and outdoor dining options make it a versatile spot for any occasion. The team at the Lowery is simply incredible - they clearly put a lot of thought and care into every aspect of the restaurant, from the decor to the drinks menu. Speaking of drinks, the hand-crafted cocktails were some of the best I've ever had! Overall, I can't recommend the Lowery Bar & Kitchen enough. It's a must-visit spot in Sunnyside, Queens for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Five stars all around!
Just had the most amazing experience here. We were expecting to eat at another neighboring restaurant but they were closed for an event so on a whim we decided to try The Lowery. We were greeted by Eli who was kind and courteous and made some excellent recommendations. The food quality was impeccable!! Even the fries were cooked to perfection. Don't miss out on the wings. And get the Moscow Mule.
Absolutely love the place very friendly and food is great
The Lowery Bar + Kitchen is truly a gem! Anne, Jane, Casper, and the rest of the team are truly outstanding. They make you feel like you are at home and part of the family. The Roast Beef Sandwich and Fried Chicken Sandwich are MUST HAVES. Their wine list is amazing, highly recommend the Pinot Grigio and the Napa Valley Cab! Plus if you are on the search for the PERFECT (and I can’t elaborate enough PERFECT) pint of Guinness, you have to come here!! Thank you for having us!!
Really enjoyed our dining experience. Had the tacos which is a special right now. They were really good. Drinks were delicious. Friends had burgers and flatbed, huge servings there. Would have liked to see a side salad or something with the tacos instead of just two tacos. The flourless Chocolate cake was delicious. They were very knowledgeable with what is gluten free and went and asked the chef if they weren't sure. I was very happy with the care they took in helping me find options that wouldn't make me sick. Will be back.
Elevated pub experience. Delicious, fresh made pasta dish with sausage, peas, mushrooms & a luscious, but not heavy, cream sauce... soooo good! Yum!! Next up, a brownie topped with mint chocolate chip ice cream for dessert - decadent. Need to come back and try other menu options! 😊 Friendly & attentive but non hovering service, just the right balance. Plus the ten minute wait for a table at the bar afforded us the opportunity to meet the witty & talented bartender, also a great place to return to after our meal. You should give it a go!
Such a nice neighborhood bar with an upmarket feel. The food is so good! Delicious fries and the veggie burger was the best I’ve had in the city! Great bartenders & staff too, Audrina always make you feel welcome.
The Lowrey is the best restaurant in the neighborhood. We have eaten here for years, and even now that we've moved to New Jersey, we will travel the hour and a half to come back as often as we can, just to come to the Lowrey. The drinks are great, and the beer selections are always good. And daring! This is where I discovered strawberry beer. (Life changing!) The food is always delicious, and they have a weekly specials list to keep the choices fresh. My biggest issue is trying to decide which fantastic meal to choose. Its a genuinely family friendly place. You can go to watch the Big Game, but its also a great place for family dinners. I also recommend making reservations for a Christmas or Thanksgiving dinner, if the tradition continues! My fiancee and I love the people who work here. Even when we're not stopping to eat, they recognize us and greet us. We consider them our genuine friends, and I sincerely hope (and would not be surprised to hear) that many of our neighbors do, as well.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Lowery Bar and Grill, and it was an exceptional experience that surpassed all expectations. From the ambiance to the cuisine, every aspect of the restaurant was impressive. However, what truly stood out was the impeccable service provided by server Audrina, who went above and beyond to make my dining experience truly unforgettable.
I absolutely love coming here anytime I’m out and about near Sunnyside. The food never disappoints, the drinks are never watered down, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Sometimes I feel like I’m in the bar from Cheers where everybody knows your name LOL. The owner spends a lot of time talking to her customers and the wait staff always have a smile on their face. GREAT PLACE!
This place is amazing! Our server, I don't know his name, was attentive and great. He was a new server and had been there a couple weeks. My family and I ordered drinks and sliders and flatbread. The food was amazing - and so were the drinks. I loved the atmosphere and the energy here. It was a really cozy spot and even though there were some people there it wasn't too crowded or too loud. I loved it here: the service, the food, the environment were all enjoyable and wonderful. I would definitely come back here for dinner or a drink. This was a great spot - and it was convenient to get to.
I am from Chicago and was staying in LIC. Found the Lowery through a google search. Excellent service. Waiter Eli was attentive, made a lot of great recommendations and the food was prepared to my liking. I highly recommend the Steak Bowl and the Calamari. The gunpowder gin and tonics were also made to my satisfaction. The final bill was affordable. I highly recommend this place.
Anne is a superstar. Everything is great. Food, service, hospitality. Been here a few times and this my favorite restaurant in all of New York City and Queens. They need to expand to give the entire borough a taste.
Went here with a friend for lunch - turns out they have brunch menu everyday! PROS - friendly and competent staff, we were seated promptly, menu was accurate, items were in stock. The wait staff was efficient and attentive but not intrusive. The poached eggs were absolutely perfectly cooked. The breakfast platters were amply sized. Cons: the pork sausage was lackluster and hard and kind of spongy. Not a fan. The sound needs attention - they could use sound dampening canvases or something as the voices really bounce off the walls, tables and floors creating a bit of a cacophony as more folks come in to eat. I would say for those of us with noise sensitive make sure you bring your noise blocking headphones so you can hear the folks at your own table. 5 stars as the only bad things are my personal preferences - the quality and atmosphere are great Bonus - this is a pub/tavern type atmosphere and does not smell like stale old beer seeped into the floor. Unlike many taverns and pubs this one smells good
My absolute favorite place in Sunnyside! Me and my husband; we have been going to the Lowery since they opened in the neighborhood and they never disappointed! Their food is delicious and you can easily realize that it is made with love and care. We tried lunch, dinner, brunch, everything. Owner, Anne, Staff, all of them are very friendly and always so attentive and caring. We love you !
The place is cozy, small and due to the tightness it would be difficult for people with wheelchairs. It’s a lively place which we enjoyed.Food was good and was fresh and flavorful with average prices. When you order make sure you get a description of the dish. We ordered a steak flatbread and disappointed to see that it was an open faced flatbread with cheese and small tidbits of steak sprinkled over the cheese. We expected a steak instead of the tidbits. Very good service and friendly staff. Street Parking a bit difficult.
Always enjoy coming here. The service and community vibe are excellent. Pricing is very fair. Only gripe would be I think the brunch menu could use some freshening up. It's too breakfast heavy.
I have been going to The Lowery Bar & Kitchen for years. I've always loved their food, especially their fried chicken sandwich. Their fries are really crispy as well! I've always had lovely experiences here. The staff is friendly, and the space is very cozy, welcoming, and inviting. I just had my birthday there (18 people). Anne and her staff went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special! Kasper (our bartender) was on it! My guests were telling me how the staff was so friendly, how the place was cute, and how the food was great! I'm so happy I hosted my birthday here!
I am literally sitting here while waiting for an early dinner that started just as drinks and apps and the experience has been nothing short of perfection. The service, food and drinks have been amazing. It’s our second time here only because we live over an hour north of here. Definitely a place you have to patronize you will not be disappointed.
Move in went phenomenal! Alexis was a tremendous help she helped every step of the way. I love my apartment home! She communicated well the entire process couldn’t have picked a better place to call home love my new apartment home! Took her time and my apartment was everything I wanted
Must try spot in sunnyside. The food is amazing and has a big variety of dishes. I recommend the New York strip, it was cooked to perfection and is up there with the best steak I have ever had. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming.
Just discovered this place last week and we definitely be going back. The staff was great; friendly and fun. The cocktails and mocktails were delicious. Food is awesome; we shared some apps and entrees. The Brussels sprouts are a must try.
Got a new lad at the bar makes the best drinks. I've tried most of the items on the Brunch menu, always delicious. 😊👍
Food was delicious. I'll say all the dishes! Nice atmosphere, cozy. Good service. Parking is easy too. Municipal parking under the subway until 10pm. only one block away.
Amazing spot to go too. Probably one of the best sports bars in the area. Love the local vibes.
The food is always amazing. Today we had fried cheese curds, chicken bites and Brussel sprouts. For dinner, we had burgers and fish and chips. The drinks are terrific! You must try this. It's worth the trip from Manhattan. Service is impeccable!
Had lunch at the weekend and honestly the best meal I’ve had in ages. Party of 5 who all had different meals and everyone really liked the food. Great pint of Guinness as well. Highly recommend
Love this place! It is the go-to brunch spot for me and my boyfriend, and we’ve taken family and friends here as well. Perfect portions, delicious food and drinks, and friendly staff. Indoor and outdoor seating available, and despite their booming business, I usually don’t have to wait long for a table when I show up at opening on weekends (12 PM). Their brunch menu has a really good balance of comfort food and healthy/lighter options, and everything is super fresh! Highly recommend
Had a wonderful experience at The Lowery. The Bartender Kasper made me a Whiskey Sour after I requested a sour type of drink. I ate the fish and chips and it was very good. The fish was delicious and crispy and paired well with the tartar sauce. The fries were delicious as well. Highly recommend this place as the atmosphere was nice and the food was delicious. I will be coming back in the future!
Overcast, rainy, and cool temperatures on this Sunday evening in NYC. Searched for a Bar/Pub/Eatery in the Sunnyside area, in hopes of finding a place with good food, service, and prices! And, we certainly found the perfect combination - in every way possible! We were greeted by a staff member - in a very friendly and warm way - and were immediately seated, as there was no wait for a party of 2. Our waitress (Jane) came over after a few minutes, and she was truly the shining jewel of our experience! Jane was friendly, warm, and genuinely nice - and helped us with questions we had about food and drinks. She recommended their burger (which was simply PERFECT) - did I mention PERFECT - and made our first dining experience at Lowery, a very memorable one (in the most positive way possible). The burger was juicy and flavorful, and smothered in cheese (which is an add on) a garlic mayo, crispy onions, and pickles. Absolute burger heaven. Fries were EXCELLENT! Drinks were perfect too - and above all the service and attentiveness of Jane was TRULY AMAZING! A beautiful dining experience overall - and I look forward to going again, very soon! CHEERS!!! 🌼🌼
Popped in to watch Superbowl and the atmosphere was amazing and lively. Service was quick with friendly wait staff. The salmon was tasty 😋
Early March my and wife and I held a baby shower there. They were extremely accommodating with us and our guest. They also were very friendly and it worked out very well. We had families and most of the ladies at the tables and we had filled the bar with our drinkers and younger crowd. Music was good/ food was good / service was great! Anne was such a great manager worked hand in hand with our coordinator to make that day such a great experience. Overall 10/10 would highly recommend your next event there.
Tried The Lowery Bar & Kitchen for the first time and was impressed. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and accommodating—especially with food allergies. Great tap selection, delicious food, and atmosphere. My dad’s Pat LaFrieda burger was juicy, and my fish and chips were perfectly crisp and fresh. The manager was also actively ensuring a great experience. Highly recommend! I will definitely be going back.
One of my favorite burgers in New York and I love that I’m only a couple of blocks away. Veggie burger is just as delicious, also try the calamari or any of the seafood dishes, always fresh. Another favorite of mine, only on special menu, is the steak sandwich with pesto. Staff and owner are the best! Attentive, funny and just great people to spend some time with. Love my local!
Hands down the best bar/restaurant in Sunnyside! Food and drinks are delicious! Nice selection of beers, wine, and cocktails. I have loved everything I have tried, especially the burger, small plates, specials and brunch. The ambiance is warm and inviting and the staff and owners are really nice and attentive. So happy this place exists!
Quiet and cozy local gastro bar in the Woodside/Sunnyside area. Food is great and service warm.and efficient!
Anne, Jane, Audrina, Brian and the entire team are fantastic. The food is consistently delicious. I am gluten-free and they understand GF. The salads, the bowls, and flatbreads are fantastic. They have a great burger. Brunch is always a hit. Cocktails and wine selection is great.
Ann and Jane and the whole crew made for a swift and tasty experience. Food was top notch; feels classically American but elevated in terms of quality. Tried the strip and blueberry pie and was blown away by the peppercorn sauce. Pie was excellent as well. God bless America.
Took my girl to Brunch today and had a great time with good food. Bloody Mary was on point, if I wasn’t still recovering from a cold I would’ve had 2 more. Service was great we had Melina I believe. She’s fantastic!
Really nice spot and spot on service. The menu looks awesome. We came to try the burger and did not dissapoint! Solid burger. 8 oz patlafrieda Black Angus meat blend of short rib, brisket chuck and shoulder Garlic mayo Pickles American cheese Crispy onions Toasted brioche from a local baker We also had their chilli honey wings with soy and their Octoberfest flatbread topped with beer cheese. That cheese should be on everything! Fries werw on point and so werw rhw wings. Definitely want to go back to try other dishes.
The Lowery Burger is the best Burger I’ve had in Queens. It is well proportioned, surprisingly uniform and the flavor is balanced well with all the toppings. The food, service, and overall vibe is fantastic. Definitely check this place out if you have a hankering for a classic cheeseburger, or anything really!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I come here often and have tried almost everything on the menu, and it never disappoints. Tonight I had the burger with a glass of wine, and it was perfect as always. The food is consistently delicious, the service is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is amazing—cozy yet lively. Definitely one of my favorite spots!
Updated review: 9/4/25 I came back to visit The Lowery Bar & Kitchen after my first visit one year ago. I had a wonderful time. I ordered the chicken bowl which absolutely delicious. The meal was plated beautifully. Every ingredient was fresh and I truly enjoyed eating my meal. My mocktail was great as well. Special thank you to Brian who made sure that I was fine and satisfied during my visit. Thank you to The Lowery Bar & Kitchen! I visited The Lowery Bar & Kitchen about two days ago. Kasper, the bartender was very nice and attentive. I asked for a mocktail and he created one that wasn’t on the menu which was really cool. I didn’t order any food because I wasn’t hungry but I did order the giant pretzel to take home. Although, I didn’t stay too long I definitely enjoyed my visit. I will definitely visit again in the near future.
Visited a brisk Friday afternoon. Walked in though I'm not from Sunnyside I felt at home. Warm greeting even with one person holding down the fort at the time. Now the food and drinks. Both great, the Moscow mule was not gingery but tasty, tart, enjoyed it. Chicken sandwich was served in a sort of toasted slice bread. Not my preference but I actually still enjoyed it. Having eaten it sliced made it more manageable to eat then other places lol. No complaints, great service, great food, will be going back. P.s. Nice touch, having a curtain block the front door from that nasty cold draft of air during the winter.
Great elevator pub situated in cozy Sunnyside Queens offering huge selection of craft beers, cocktails and impeccable grub. Happy hour Monday through Friday and the staff is so friendly. Lively with mature crowd. Parking is a bit difficult due to residential streets nearby, but definitely worth the trip.
My comfort restaurant >_< One of the best restaurants in Sunnyside. The vibe is very cozy. They have outdoor and indoor dining. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. My usual meal is Beef Bourguignon. But the other dishes are very good too!! For dessert I love Churros and Vanilla Ice cream. 10 out of 10 Always Good!!
The Lowery is hands down our favorite local restaurant and a staple of Sunnyside. Since the first time we dined there, we were made to feel not like customers but friends and that starts from the amazing owner Anne and trickles down to every single wonderful person that works there. Special shout out to Brian and Jane who go out of their way to make our six year old son feel special every single time they see him. And the food? So delicious! We are regulars so we've basically tried everything and they're all delicious. The pork bao buns and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich are particular favorites! And my son's "regular" is the chicken tender and fries! You can't go wrong going to the Lowery. Literally a drink or dish made for everyone. Run don't walk - you won't regret it!!
The atmosphere of the bar is so homey and warm and the staff bring it all together. If you are blessed to have the waitress I had, Jane, she was very sweet and always checking up on us! I try to come in here at least once every two weeks to check out the specials menu that always surprises me with new delicious items as I try not to stick to my ultimate favorite the fried chicken sandwich. I genuinely do not think you can get a better fried chicken sandwich in queens!!!
Amazing cocktails and food. The cocktails are strong and delicious. The food is great. I had the burger and the sauce that goes with it is perfect. The wings are crispy. I came in here randomly and can't wait to go back. Even the waiter is friendly and service is quick. 5 stars.
Get the burger! Hands down the highlight of the meal. Pat Lafrieda blend, perfect. Good service. Lost a point because the goat cheese/caramelized onion flatbread was not great. Has so much more potential if it didn't have chunky tomato sauce on it. Goat cheese and onion feels more like it should be a white flatbread maybe with some balsamic glaze drizzle. I wasn't expecting red sauce.
I ate outside, so can't say much about the interior. Wanted to try their wings. $14 for six wings. They were very good, but yikes. Obviously I was still hungry, and I got a happy hour offer of fried pickles. Not on the menu, but they have them at happy hour. They were also very good. $3 Narragansett cans at happy hour. Service was A+, but I might have been the only one there.
Staff was very friendly, great vibe. I got the chicken wings and watermelon burrata, and the burrata is what knocked it down to 4 stars. It just wasn’t anything great and for $20 that’s kinda of disappointing. Some of the pieces of watermelon were good but others not so much. The burrata itself wasn’t bad but would be much better with some kinda of bread product. Wings were fantastic, very crispy and sauce was perfect.
This location is cozy and relatively quiet on a Friday night at 12am. The food is available until 1am but only from the late night menu which still has a decent selection. We ordered the short rib brisket blend burger with a side a fries and it was about what you'd expect. The burger was cooked to a great medium and the fries were crispy although some came a little cold on top and hotter near the bottom. Our waitress could have been more attentive considering we were literally the only table there at the time but couldn't manage to get her attention to ask for more ketchup. Luckily for her the food makes up for her.
I had the French chicken with mashed potatoes. I also had the pretzel. The food was good. The drinks however weren't the best. I tried a frozen margarita and some other drink I forgot the name of and didn't care for either drink. The service was awesome. She was very nice and attentive.
I went during the restaurant week, I had never been there before and wanted to try it out with a few friends who are cooks. At first there was no one for about 5 minutes to greet us while it was only busy at the bar. Once we sat down we enjoyed the appetizers until it was the time for the entree. Once they took our appetizer plates, not even a minute later we received our entrees. Which they probably have been cooked and ready for a while and been sitting there. We ordered 2 salmon which was an extra 10 dollars and a burger. The salmon dish was supposed to have fingerling potatoes, instead came with zucchini. There was a lemon puree which was in the bottom. It was the strongest sour disgusting sauce I ever had. It made the whole plate awful. So we asked for a separate dish and ate only the salmon. I would have paid 20$ not 35$ for just the salmon. I was so happy that no of the sauce touched it. Then was dessert which was good. In all I wouldn't eat that dish ever again.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while so my expectations were pretty high, but honestly this is just middle of the road for me, especially considering how pricey it is. Their happy hour $2 off draft beers is pretty misleading since it only applies to two beers, Stella and something else. The brussel sprouts were delicious but super overpriced, for something you can easily make at home. Fish and chips were good, and appropriately served with malt vinegar. Veggie burger was okay, though I'm not a fan of burgers that get super mushy in the middle and the beet spread that came with it sounded better than it actually was, and took away from the burger. Going with some roasted beets on the side would probably be a better move and keep everything from getting extra soggy too. Honestly wouldn't come back, the outdoor seating out front is also plagued with little flies that aren't shy and will end up all over your food and floating in your drinks. Really more of a two star restaurant for me but our waiter was great and they make a good margarita so at least there's that.
The food is pretty amazing and very good quality. Just don't expect a custom menu, it's set and they won't adjust anything. We had pancakes, breakfast tacos and salad. Not sure if we just got a server who wasn't interested or having a bad day but, sadly we felt it. Final note, don't get the steak. It's hardly seasoned and it came out cold for us. Tip to chef: generous salt & pepper with a light oil glaze will make the steak taste better.
I had the Lobster Roll for $28 and I bit into a lobster shell 3 times. The first bite I didn't mind since mistakes happen but 3 times. I wasn't going to say anything but my friend so kindly wanted to point it out to the manager?owner? about it. His response was what just makes me not want to return to this place as I have been a longtime Sunnyside resident born & bred. He said "It's just only shells" like it wasn't a big deal. And for $28 I told him it wasn't worth the price. He did apologize a bit begrudgingly. They also served Salt&Vinegar Chips which wasn't stated in the menu. I thought it would be regular potato chips. Anywho, I have been here before and their cocktails are great. My first time for food experience, just disappointing and overall service experience had left me feeling like I do not want to return.
Drinks were really good but food was not. We ordered the ny strip steak, which is the most expensive dish in the menu. Steak was fatty and had no flavor, fries were stale, salad was just a tiny amount of arugula. Moscow mule was really good and refreshing. Service was fast. Ambiance was nice. I might go back for drinks.
I loved this place before. We came here a couple time, until the lady with the blonde hair she is a host i guess, told to me to sit back to my place (we were about to head out) and she thinks i cannot be any close to my friend. While we were spending our last second at the place. Ridiculous jealous woman, have a life before you tell people they need to sit 1 meter from each other. Ruined my last moment at the place thanks... You should work at mcdonalds then not at a pub, you are the server you serving me at a place like that. Remember that... Shame...
The fish & chips was awful so is attitude of the stuff of that establishment when I mentioned my dissatisfaction.about fiod . The stuff gang up on me saying we are to busy to take your payment. The red lipstick puffy lips loud mouth waitress was rudest one.
I visited here yesterday, and I was taking pics for bar view and decorations, cause I’m doing blogger things and I was planning to post about this restaurant on my blog. Bt, a guest who is familiar with bartender asked me coldly ‘What are you doing here’. And I explained “I was taking the bar and I didn’t take you guys” and I said sorry. But after that, a guest and even the bartender were very cold for me. I felt really bad. Only server was friendly for me. Server was really kind. Bt, I really don’t want to go there again, because I don’t want to see that bartender again.
Unfortunately I had a horrible experience at The Lowery. I am unsure what happened but my table’s server was very hostile from the moment we were sat. The table was dirty so we quietly took a napkin to wipe the table to not bother the waiter and was given hostile remarks for trying to clean the table. We did not say anything in response to that. After the server picked up the napkin which we used to wipe the table, he also picked up some silverware and then slammed the silverware behind us to show his anger. It was extremely passive aggressive. We then asked the waiter if we did something wrong who then ignored us. We decided to leave. I love going out to restaurants and this has never happened to me. I would not recommend going to this restaurant. There are many other nice restaurants in Sunnyside which have great food and great customer service. Edit : We contacted management and let them know our experience and they were apologetic, very welcoming, and invited us to come back to for a proper service. Even though we had encountered a bad server, I appreciate upper management.
