This has been our go-to Thai place for at least a decade! We live in San Jose, so making the trek to Sunnyvale should already be a dead giveaway that this place is top notch! Tonight I ordered most of the dishes I mentioned in my previous review. *Panang Chicken *Gai Pad Ped *Veggie Omelete *Chicken & Tofu *Thai Shrimp Rolls *Chicken Pad Thai As expected, everything came out perfectly! I called in the order 20 minutes prior to arriving, so when I got to the restaurant, everything was ready. I know most folks prefer to order when you arrive, but I figured I'd save my self some time:) Since I've gotten to know the owners, they make it a point to come out to greet me. It kind of makes me feel like a VIP.... Which definitely does not happen at any other restaurant I visit. When you couple great food with great service, it really doesn't get any better than that!

I recently discovered Thai Spoons in Sunnyvale, and let me tell you, it's a hidden gem! Their curry dishes transported me straight to the streets of Thailand. The Beef Green Curry was sublime - tender beef, just the right amount of creamy coconut milk, and a perfect balance of fresh Thai basil and spices. The Chicken Red Curry was equally impressive, with juicy chicken, crunchy bell peppers, and a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. The Thai Tea was the perfect accompaniment, refreshing and creamy. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and service is friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it a great spot for a date or a quick lunch/dinner. If you're craving authentic Thai flavors, Thai Spoons is a must-visit!

Chris here. This is an absolutely phenomenal restaurant ran by some of the kindest and most loving of people any restaurant can be ran by. The food is totally exceptional. Entirely and completely delicious Thai food. I thank the staff and the owners of this fine establishment for shining brightly in the lives of many, day in and day out. In going above and beyond to serve the community. Thank you for all that you do. May God be with you all and continue to shower you all and the business with nothing but favor and merit. May you all continue to prosper and shine forth. Keep shining brightly!

I had Pad Thai, Tom Kha soup, and Thai iced tea, and everything was absolutely delicious. The Pad Thai was perfectly balanced, sweet, tangy, and full of fresh ingredients. The Tom Kha was rich, creamy, and bursting with authentic Thai flavors. Thai iced tea was the perfect refreshing finish! Great service, amazing flavors and definitely a place I’ll be coming back to!

Everything was fresh and delicious. Great condiments and exceptional proteins. I had the chow mein with pork belly, Thai spicy. I could've taken more chilli, but I'm definitely coming back again. Great spot. Seems popular for delivery too.

We like their new interior design after remodeling and their food is as delicious as before they redid their seating area. The portions are really big and their allergens menu is fabulous with prices at a moderate level.

First time dining at this lovely family owned Thai restaurant and it was wonderful finding this very unassuming dining establishment. The basil chicken was perfectly seasoned and went well with rheir brown rice. Absolutely recommend them and their addictive sticky mango rice!

I ordered from Thai Spoons today, and the food was great, and the service better. The yellow curry delight, was one of the tastiest curry I've had. We paired that with a surprisingly great brown rice. We also very much enjoyed the garlic green beans. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. I accidently ordered the wrong item via Door Dash, I phoned the restaurant, and they quickly corrected it for me.

Slightly small dining area but enough seating for one large party of 15 + small tables for 2-4. Food was good and well prepared. Staff was kind and helpful.

From the moment you walk into Thai Spoons, you’re greeted with warmth and the comforting aroma of authentic Thai cuisine. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a hidden gem where flavor, consistency, and care come together beautifully. Every dish I’ve tried has been bursting with fresh ingredients and rich, balanced flavors. Whether it’s the perfectly spiced curry, the crisp vegetables, or the tender meats, you can tell they don’t cut corners. The menu has something for everyone, and they’re always happy to adjust spice levels to your preference. What really sets Thai Spoons apart is their attention to detail and commitment to quality. The staff is friendly and attentive, and you get the sense that they truly care about the customer experience. It’s clear this is a family-run business with heart. If you’re looking for a spot that feels like home but delivers restaurant-quality food every time, Thai Spoons should be at the top of your list.

They just renovated and are currently offering 20% discount !!! The renovation gives the place a clean, cozy, and aesthetically pleasing vibe. The ambience was very quiet. The staff are very friendly. I had the thai tea float - so good so creative. Everything was so flavorful. Definitely would return.

Thai Spoons holds a special place in my heart, and despite the lack of air conditioning in the summer... I would recommend this Thai spot for sure! They have lunch specials and a good variety on their menu. Staff are kind here too! Pad See Ew is always my go-to dish and this place makes it really well! Not too oily and perfectly cooked noodles. We got this with beef and it was really tender (good portions too)! The Pad Ped Chicken is also a solid dish that I've only ever seen here. Deep fried boneless chicken stir fried in mild Thai spices. Very tasty and a guilty pleasure dish.

We’ve been coming to Thai Spoons since over a decade ago because of their food quality and service. Our fave is their lunch specials where you can order 2 or items + rice. Everything is good, altho chicken pad ped is the main reason we drive 30 miles for. Parking is pretty easy; however, this place can get crowded easily during lunch hour. So, come early or make a reservation. Or order online/ by phone. The quantity might be less than what they served back then, but the quality hasn’t changed throughout the generations.

This lovely cozy Thai restaurant  is a go-to spot for my regular quick dinners. The food is delicious and flavorful, with the satay chicken perfectly grilled, retaining a juicy interior. The pad Thai and eggplant with egg are consistently solid and remain among my favorites.

Went for lunch soon after opening on Saturday. Service was quick, food tasted delicious. Would recommend anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine. Plenty of options for vegetarians too.

Visited for dinner on Saturday night. All the dishes were well flavored. We ordered Vegan Mushroom Dumplings, Pad Kee Mao, Chomwein, Thai Ice Tea and Mango sticky rice. The dishes were fantastic and tasted great! Portion size was good as well.

Came here with a family of four on a weekday night! There was no line but still really busy. Food: We got the fried chicken and the eggplant curry and green curry and pad Thai! I definitely think the Star was the small fried chicken nuggets and the eggplant curry since they both had great textures and flavors and weren’t overwhelming or salty! We also got the mango sticky rice which was warm and fresh. Service: The best part! This place is family owned and the servers checked in a ton and were super sweet. Ambiance: A great place to take family and friends for some quality quieter vibes. Overall love the place and the options! I love supporting local businesses too.

Not a bad option for Thai. The portions are large even if the flavor is not as good as some other places I’ve been. The curry was somewhat watery and the chicken somewhat oily…

It's a cute little spot and the ambience is comfortable. Staff is friendly and was able to accomodate my food preferences (I'm vegetarian and don't have onion, garlic or carrots). It may seem that their menu is limited but they cover all the main dishes. Ordered the basil fried rice, red curry and the pad thai - everything was good and the food came in quickly. Could explore adding more veggies to the pad thai if you're someone who likes it that way. (Jain Food available). Would come again.

My friends and I came here for dinner so we had everything family style, which was great because it kept the price low. For the most part, everything was decently good, and not amazingly spectacular, but there were items that stood out still. Some of my friends that lived in Sunnyvale were frequent visitors and mentioned how much they returned because they liked the food, and I could definitely see why. To me, the pad see ew and the red curry tasted very authentic and very similar to what I have had in other Thai restaurants across the country, which was a good thing and I definitely had nothing to complain. I thought the spicy fried rice was really good because it had a level of spice that provided flavor instead of overwhelmingly spicy and nothing else, if that makes sense. I also enjoyed the mango & sticky rice, but would love a bit more rice and coconut milk because there was a good amount of fresh mango. Otherwise, I don't have other comments because I don't know what else to say other than the fact that this is a very authentic small Thai restaurant and I think that by itself should be a good indicator that it's worth returning to.

The people there are really nice, but they think that oyster and fish sauce is vegetarian. We went there a couple weeks ago clearly stating that we are vegetarian and cannot have ANY meat. We ordered the green curry and the pad see ew after checking that there is no meat in it. However, when we went the next time, they told us that the green curry has shrimp sauce and the pad see ew has oyster. This is really wrong, and the people working there should know that vegetarian NEVER means fish is okay (that is pescatarian).

I love Thai food and have tried many restaurants. I usually get the same thing, pad see ewe and judge based on that. It’s a simple but good dish and almost every Thai restaurant offers it. Thai spoons delivered one of the blandest versions I have ever tasted. Despite the rich brown color, there was no taste to this dish. Veggies unseasoned, meat tasteless, noodles just there . No signature wok char that good pad see ewe requires. Looks nothing like the picture on their website. I would not recommend this place.
