Great food and service from the bartenders. My only complaint was that we were told there was no tables available in the inside, only outside area, but yet they had plenty of opened tables. It was cold that night so we sat at the bar. We were there for about 2 hours and notice they still had plenty of tables opened. Besides that, food and drinks were great.

the atmosphere is cozy. my server Andre, very patient explaining the menu to us. I am a very picky eater unfortunately so i had to be careful with my food selection. everything that came out was delicious! I would return. it is true that this place is not authentic mexican, my server said it is mexican with a twist of french cuisine. definitely a must place to stop and try for yourself.

Beyond all expectations! Try the grilled octopus and I promise you will not be disappointed. Hands down the best I've ever had. The hand made house salsa is also phenomenal with much more flavor than any other traditional salsa. You can taste the love behind it that's for sure. Now the real stars of the show are the staff and the service they provided me on my first experience here. They are all very personable attentive and knowledgeable about the entire menu and outstanding drink options. their menu has a lot of mixed drinks but I'm a straight tequila guy and they had my favorites, Don Julio 1942 and Casa Amigos reposado. I sat at the bar for this visit and Ernesto and Denis took very good care of my experience. Ernesto even offered to dice up some jalapenos when I requested to spice up my very flavorful salsa. The entire staff here is incredible. I recommend this restaurant to everyone and especially those who enjoy high class Mexican cuisine with a professional friendly flare.

Wow 🤌🏼 had lunch there and the food, music, ambiance, aesthetics are gorgeous. I asked the waitress which Margarita was the best and she recommended the Margarita del Amante 🍹 it was so good, fresh and packed a punch! Rico! I will definitely be going back. Are there any other locations in FL? May this business thrive. I felt transported with the romantic music and the servers were very warm and friendly. Bendiciones 🌹👌

Jorge our server was outstanding, very attentive and had a very personable demeanor, for sure the highlight of the night. Food fresh but ok.However it was from a special menus for Valentine’s Day. I can’t really judge the food from the menu. Our food was I was standing very attentive had a very T2 for sure but OK however it was wrong as express for Valentine’s Day. I can really do our food stand at.

we had an amazing experience coming here for the first time since their grand opening for mother’s day. our server Robert gave us one of the best customer service experiences we’ve ever had, recommending the best drinks and dishes for us to enjoy our experience. the “mole enchiladas” and the “guacamole with chicharrón” were absolutely incredible. the arroz con leche pavlova was incredible. the entire staff was so nice and attentive. we had the honor to meet chef james and congratulate him on the incredible restaurant he opened. overall an amazing experience and cannot wait to come again.

Exceptional experience! This restaurant in Sawgrass Mall is the jewel of Sunrise, Florida. The grilled octopus is a unique delight, and the homemade salsa is simply phenomenal. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, with Ernesto and Denis standing out at the bar. Mexican music and an aquarium atmosphere add a charming touch. I recommend this place to all lovers of Mexican cuisine. 5 stars well deserved!

I really enjoyed the drinks, they were beautifully presented with great attention to detail. The bartender Val was very attentive and professional, which made the whole experience even better, I will be back soon.

Brand new open restaurant at the mall. We stopped by out of curiosity for lunch. We had snapper ranchera, lamb barbacoa and soup of the day. Everything was delicious but my fav was soup of the day and the snapper. I am planning to stop again to try more dishes next time.

Visited La Dona before heading to the Amerant Center for a show. The restaurant is warmly decorated and we were greeted immediately. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. I appreciate the presentation and the effort put into serving both great presentation and great food. Look forward to returning soon.

Amazing food and service!, i order the octopus carpaccio which was delicious with a hint of 🌶️, the pork chop al pastor is truly with cooked to perfection and the cocktails were on point, our server was very nice and knowledgeable on the menu, we really enjoyed our time at La Doña and hoping to visit again soon, and thank you for playing good music!

We come to Sawgrass Mills frequently and had been waiting for months that this place would open. The wait was worth it! Traditional Mexican food, very fresh and flavorful. They bring chips to your table and make the salsa right in front of you. That was a nice authentic touch, had never seen that before. Forgot to take pictures of the birria and duck carnitas we had, they were both really good. Promise more pics on my next visit.

Visited La Doña, and I'm still amazed by the experience. Chef James has outdone himself with incredibly flavorful Mexican dishes. The visual presentation of each plate is a work of art. You get exceptional value for the price, and the cocktail menu is impressive - the margaritas are a must-try. Highly recommend for a memorable dining experience. Living in the area and having very little options this restaurant just became our favorite! True authentic Mexican, not your tipical Tex mex! Portions are very good! I recommend: spicy margarita, short rib (OMG) it’s 1lb 😍 and the lobster taco! Wow the mole enchiladas ❤️❤️

la Doña is one of the best places to gather and enjoy the best Mexican gastronomy with friends and families in South Florida . The food is high end cuisine , the service is excellent and the manager , Omar , took care of every single detail of our Christmas dinner. Susi was an amazing waitress also. 💯 recommended.

This is more of an experience! We were seated in Jeronimo’s section, who treated us with amazing service. It was an amazing experience to watch him make Guacamole table side for our appetizers. The food, no, each plate was decorated as a decadent feast (I have attached our Lemon Tres Leches as an example). Taste wise 10/10.

The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. You can really tell they care about both the food and the customer experience.

La Doña Mexican Seafood & Grille located in Sunrise, FL within Sawgrass Mills Mall gives you a modern twist to Mexican cuisine! To start off, we decided to check out the Jamaica-Naranja Mocktail that consisted of refreshing Hibiscus 🌺 Flower Tea infused with agave, orange juice, and a Tajin rim. To our surprise, the mocktail was subtle and very refreshing! For appetizer, we decided to share the Shrimp Ceviche made with Clamato based salsa, lime, avocado, and cilantro. This dish was freshly made, and the quantity was perfect to share between two people. For the main entree, we decided to try the Lobster Taco. Although very tasty, it was presented more as a Lobster wrap. It was very cheesy and I wished I could taste more the lobster. To end the night, we decided to try the Churros De La Doña dessert with a unique presentation that consisted of the churros hanging on an umbrella. The dessert provided multiple toppings like Dulce de Leche, Chocolate Fudge, Sprinkles, and more! Overall, @ladonarestaurants (IG) provided a relaxing lively environment with outdoor and indoor seating. The customer service was excellent and I would recommend for a nice outing with friends or after a shopping day 🛍️

So I needed to give this new restaurant a fair shot and eat something , originally I came for the drinks and it was spectacular. The service even better everyone is super attentive . Nicolas , Nelson and bartender Ernesto ,great Margaritas on point the free salsa on point , and the chicken quesadillas which are actually 3 tacos is fire 🔥 I think I have to come back to try more food. Only down side price is high and the amount of options to choose on the menu is not great because it’s all heavy meals . I wanted one taco options or options for sides , and just more single meals for one person, or a kids menu But if you come with someone to share is perfect .

The restaurant is a good option after a long day of shopping. The prices are a bit on the high side, but food is good. We ordered the Queso Fundido with Chorizo as appetizer, it comes with two tortillas in lieu of chips wich make for a nice moini taco to start with. Then we had the Chicken Pibil and Mole Enchiladas. The mole was really good , and the chicken not bad at all, but not something to write home about. To finish it up, we had the Flan de la Abuela.Big enough for two.With one Agua Fresca, the check came up to just shy of 100 bucks.

We were in the Sawgrass area and decided to grab a bite to eat prior to the Panthers game & the food was good and the service was great. My few comments would be: I ordered the Steak a la Tampiqueña & asked for medium rare and it came more on the medium well side I didn’t send it back because I was pressed for time and the steak was truly well seasoned all around, the sides of the dish were a little subpar for the price of the dish like the cilantro rice was a little dry, black beans were a little old & the guac was a little brown. I will chalk it off to being a slow Thursday night because the reviews were good and that’s why we came here. However our server was great and overall service was good!

this place is very nice and they have a good selection. Service is good, but not our waiter, he never refilled our drinks or came by to ask if everything was okay. Also, I believe the portions are over priced. I had 3 small chicken enchiladas for $28. My son had Bria Tacos for $36. Food is good but way over priced for the portions.

We liked the food in general, as the taste was good and very close to the authentic flavors. If you are willing to try authentic mexican food beyond just tacos, this is a good place. Service was excellent: quick and attentive. The place is decorated with a modern style with traditional mexican details. Athmosphere is very good. That said, they lack a Kids Menu (there are not many options for children, not sure if this is intended) and we had the feeling the place is a bit overpriced for what they offer, which is good quality but not great.

We were looking closely to the place when we saw they were opening soon, finally we went yesterday, food and service both were good, i opened the tequilas & mezcal menu ordered the first option not available, second option not available, third option not available… ended up taking the sponsored mezcal! Place is little pricey, plates have the right size, not large not small! The Mariachis - are spectacular - we know them from Miami… did not know Polanco was with his team at La Doña!!! He played la Bikina for me and my wife! Had a great time!

Had high expectations for this place. Well decorated and extremely friendly and excellent service. The presentation of the food was also excellent, but I came to eat not just take a picture, for mexican food there was no real flavor to the food which resulted in it being very disappointed especially for the price. Had chicken, shrimp, octopus, ceviche all lacking flavor. The only item which was descent was the fish. Honestly would have better tasting food at a chipotle. Lastly we had dinner on the outside and had a bug issue as others mentioned.

My wife and I dined here on a Saturday evening. There was nice music & fresh decor however there were some issues that need to be addressed by management. 1. Lingerie videos were being played on the TVs which is inappropriate given the setting. 2. Octopus Carpaccio was highly recommended by waitress but did not taste good at all. 3. The tenderloin entree was good but doesn't come with any sides. I would recommend a smaller portion of meat & include a starch. 4. We ordered the churros as a dessert however it was not disclosed that this was a $29 dish (waitress explained to us all the desserts after we finished entrees, no menu was present). The churros unfortunately were overcooked & hard. $29 for churros is ridiculous. They were not good. I wish the best for this restaurant and look forward to their improvements.

Very disappointing. Based upon the reviews, we expected a terrific meal, but instead, we found it mediocre and lacking any real flavor. The atmosphere and service were excellent, but not the meals. I ordered the achiote snapper with cilantro rice. The fish was too moist and fishy tasting, which would have been OK with proper seasoning, but there was just an occasional hint of achiote and nothing else. We’ve been to Yucatan and know what achiote seasoning should be. The rice was hard and dry and lacked flavor. The guacamole was the kind one gets from the supermarket and the black beans had no flavor. The vegetable meal my wife ordered was almost all onions, also with no flavor. The traditional margaritas seem to be made of bitter stock mix with nothing else and there was almost no tequila. This might be a great place for people who like bland food, but not for us.

Im so tired of trying to find good Mexican food in SF...I always do Italian at Sawgrass thought to mix it up and what a disappointment 😞..rice cold and under cooked,chicken lukewarm.... only thing that came out hot was the black beans... Thomas is nice but should check up on people...

The food is good but so disappointing that there is always flies buzzing around. One of them landed on my husband’s plate and walked all over his food. He wasn’t able to even finish half of it. We let the waitress know and all she said was sorry…Either fix the fly problem or offer a new plate of food.

Prices are very high. My food had a burnt flavor mainly the black beans. even thought there were only 3 of us the 18% tip was automatically included. My elderly mom did not realize it so added a generous 20% tip. That guy got a 38% tip!!’ Totally did not deserve that !wont recommend this place unfortunately. I was hoping for more.

Restaurant has a nice decor but unfortunately that is the only attractive feature. It was a Monday and only 2 other tables were seated when we arrived around 7 pm. We ordered drinks and a guacamole and chicharron appetizer. In the meantime, some kind of salsa was prepared at our table. Salsa was not good at all and definitely not the typical salsa you'd expect from a Mexican restaurant and basically was served with about 7 chips. Salsa was not good at all. Chips were cold. The guacamole appetizer was ok and again did not taste anything like what guacamole typically served. Although the restaurant was basically empty, the drinks took a lot longer than expected until we had to ask our server for our drinks. Entrees finally arrived and all 3 adults were surprised about how small the portions were! Basically portions you expect from kids menú. The 3 adults in our party left majority of the food since we all agreed the food was not good at all. Our son enjoyed his food.

I had high hopes for this place, and thought it was beautifully quiet, however later we realized it was not quiet it was nearly empty for a reason. Unfortunately, it was a big disappointment. First off, the service was chaotic. We ordered tacos and quesadillas, which were brought to the table before we even had silverware or napkins. How are we supposed to eat without them? We had to flag someone down just to get basic utensils, which should have been a given before!!! To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, the server tapped the payment terminal and automatically gave himself a 20% tip! This is completely unacceptable. Tipping should be based on service, and frankly, the service here didn’t deserve it. Dishes were Okay but overpriced and with so many great restaurants around, we won’t be coming back. There are too many better options where they actually care about their customers. I don’t know if it is a question of training servers, I believe it’s a question of common sense silverware and napkins before the food, so that nothing gets cold! Really basic, right? Well, not for this server. Shouldn’t tips be optional and based on the quality of service?

** Absolutely Disappointing** I recently visited La Dona, and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The food was far from authentic Mexican flavors—in fact, it was downright horrible. Starting with the black beans, they tasted like they came straight from a can and were simply dumped onto my plate without any thought or seasoning. As for the chicken in the enchiladas and tacos, it was shockingly dry, as if it had been reheated multiple times. Each bite felt like a chore, and I genuinely couldn't finish my meal. To make matters worse, I noticed the manager was present during our visit. When I voiced my concerns to the server, hoping for some acknowledgment or remedy, the manager seemed completely indifferent. It was clear he didn’t care about the quality of the food or the satisfaction of his customers. With overpriced dishes and such poor quality, I left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I definitely won’t be returning to La Dona, and I would advise others to steer clear as well.

Nice place with a patio located next to the outlet mall. They were out of local draft Beer on draft and Dinner dish on the menu we ordered. 2 tables 1 waitress - we still had to wait for everything. Definitely not again. There are better options around

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of friends and their spouses, having been recommended by a mutual acquaintance. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The restaurant, known for its high prices, fell short in terms of service. After placing our appetizer order, the server took my main course order but did not take any orders for the rest of the group. Approximately 20-25 minutes later, my appetizer and main course arrived together, while the rest of our party had not received their meals. It became clear that their orders had not been placed. The server seemed disorganized and was unable to address the issue effectively. Despite my attempts to clarify the situation, there was no apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. Given this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Completely ruined my Valentine’s Day do not go on Valentine’s Day. If I was told at the door that they only have three options to choose from on a “Valentine’s Day menu” I would of probably walked away and never dine with them . It’s a seafood place and the only options they had to pick from that day, Was three tacos entrees??? Like what . I think the only seafood we had was the appetizer, it was a little bit of octopus that was shared between me and my boyfriend. We told the waitress that we were not happy and you can clearly tell she did not care.

The food is expensive and they do not serve much plus it does not taste great. They gave us tortilla chips as we sat in and they were suggy and old. The guacamole was not great. The service was not great either. Server barely talk and at the end kept us waiting for about 10min for an answer to our question which we ended up not getting because he was no where to be found. Ambience was not great. You didnt not feel welcome. They were not rude but it wasnt great. I would not recommend this place at all and I dont think I will be coming back.

This place is robbery! The server doesn't know when the lobster came in last and neither did the cook (this place doesn't have chefs). The menu has no fajitas or basic Mexican food or seafood. Salmon but with a bunch of cheap additives. The chips aren't hot and stale. If you order $26 dollar appetizer expect 3 tortillas and be charged for more tortillas. Complete scam with two different cuisines and didn't do either right.

Restaurant looked nice from the outside and it was nice on the inside. The menu looked good so we tried it. We ordered and then someone came to our table to make what I thought was guacamole although it tasted and looked like salsa with a little bit of avacado, we couldn’t eat it. I ordered a steak medium rare which came out medium well, they apologized and took it back to remake it and within a few minutes they brought me another one that was cold, they took it back again and a few minutes later brought me another one that was lukewarm but by that time I had lost my appetite so I got a box and took it home. The manager was involved but never took it off the bill or offered anything. I believe they precook their food and then maybe warm it up or cook it to whatever temperature the customer wants. We spent $200 for 3 people so it wasn’t a cheap meal but extremely sub par food. I would never go there again or recommend anyone to go there.

They didn’t have any lobster for our meals. Which is fine but they didn’t make any of the food right so the manager Dan came over trying to help and offered us 2 free deserts and free drinks for the table. Super grateful. But as we got the check he ended up charging us for everything that he said would be complimentary. Then only discounted us for 10%. The food came out all wrong over cooked. We got tired of sending the food back to correct (one time we did) This all would have been okay is he didn’t lie to us. All he had to do was everything you ordered will be discounted. We will no longer ever come Here because of the one lie. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go There unless they want to be told one thing and get another.

The food was blended, octopus looks it was from a can no flavor at all, and u can't order anything from the menu. They just have Valentine's experience, and it was disappointing for such a special occasion. The server was rude when we complained about the food. It was a really bad experience. Don't go there.

La doña is a not Mexican restaurant, the service was ok, but the food is not good, there bring glass of water to tables but the glass was duty and have the fish smell on. Also the weather look oily, when I trying drink it, almost trough up. Bad experience. Bad food, bad higiene on the dishes. I definitely don’t recommend this restaurant.

Considering the prices, I expected a much higher standard of food. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing across the board. The pork belly guacamole was unacceptable, and the steak tampiqueña was subpar in both quality and execution. This was my first visit and it will certainly be my last.

The waiter was polite but nothing else was good with this place, I ordered chicken flautas and it was burnt, I called the waiter and returned the food, they removed it from the bill , the rest of the food we ordered was mediocre food. I could’ve had better ordering from Taco Bell. Wasted 76 dollars 😡 They didn’t apologize, no manager in sight!

Toooo expensive for quality and quantity; service on a Saturday night was horrible, even though they were not very busy; was given two soup spoons for dessert, which we thought was a joke, but oh no, they were serious saying “we don’t have dessert spoons, we are undergoing change of cutlery🤔 needless to say, we refused dessert and coffee and left disgusted!!! really sitting in the middle of Sawgrass mills Mall and they gave no adequate cutlery????? Chef Hanes, I think you need to spend more time in your restaurant and see what’s going on before it is ran down!! So sad, we live next a food; let me save you a big disappointment!!!

If I could give them a zero star i would. Worse meal and service we ever had. Don’t waste your money. Our meal consisted of basically sauce with no real food. Salad greens were old and drenched in sauce. Very poor food quality.

TOURIST CATCH. OVERPRICED. NOT RECOMMENDED. I went with my wife last weekend and for sure will not return. Food: For enchilada suiza and michoacan carnitas and 2 juices with tip, $94. I immediately returned one of the drinks because they were so watered down that was disgusting. Completely overpriced. Ambiance: the AC was not working and was so hot inside. Service: this was the only good part. She noticed it was so hot that she brought a fan for my wife. We complained to the manager. Overall a poor experience.

The service was nice, the ambiance was great, but the food was terrible. The Al pastor ribs were disgusting, their steak was completely dry and unseasoned. To top it all off they have an 18% gratuity already added onto your bill. Keep in mind, this was not disclosed anywhere on their menu or anywhere else. I would not recommend anyone to eat here.
