SORIMMARA New Tampa (소림마라 뉴탬파) Tampa Reviews
All 3 dishes we ordered were super flavorful and on point. Service was very friendly and fast. I definitely will come back.
I was hoping to see Korean Mala place in Tampa and this is perfect!! It’s fun to choose your own ingredients and make DIY sauce 👀 I'm a big fan of xianguo and it’s great that they also put a little candle under the pot so the food doesn't get cold while eating. One thing I love is all the ingredients you choose are perfectly cooked — some places over- or undercook them but here 분모자 was in a perfect condition!
Everything was delicious!!! Must try!!! The staff was so nice too! We will definitely be back 👏
The best restaurant I’ve ever been to in my entire life. You get to choose everything you want to put in your soup or stir fry for a fair price. We go every time we are in Tampa and enjoy it just the same as the first time. Phenomenal quality and service every time without fail. Will never stop eating here!!
Highly recommend this spot - especially if you want a filling hot dish! The Korean Malatang food is great - you pay by the pound, for whichever base you want, and can load it up with a great variety of different Korean food items. The bases are tasty and spice level customizable! Even with just 1.7 LB, we were full and satisfied with the meal between the two of us. And even though the food (and accompanying beer we got) was great, even better was the staff service! The staff member asked if it was our first time, upon being seated, and was very happy to help us upon confirmation. We were walked through the malatang creation process and enjoyed chatting with her about the various food items as well as recommendations on what base to get based on our taste preferences. Her service was also impeccable in both camaraderie and making sure we always had napkins (necessary, haha) water, and anything else we needed. By the time we left, we were happy in both service and food to the highest degree that night - will definitely be returning to try other food there!
This place is spacious and plenty of tables for events! When you walk in, you feel welcomed and the table is nice and clean. You get to select your soup bases and a few other dishes on the menu. Then, it’s kinda like a hot pot by weight. You select all the toppings they have and weighted after. Then, you order all the food at the counter. They have good selection of toppings! You must select the toppings more than 1lbs, but with all the topping selections, it’s hard to get less than 1lbs. We ordered the Malatang (Level 1 Spice), Rose Mala Tteokbokki, and mala mayo rice ball. For toppings, we select almost 3lbs of toppings. I don’t regret it, but it was A LOT for two people. But the soup is delicious and flavorful. Although we ordered level 1 spicy, it was still spicy, but we really enjoyed it. The mala mayo rice ball is a MUST. It’s so delicious! The seasoning, rice, yellow radish, and mayo blends so well together! And the rose mala teokbokki was so smooth and spicy. It was very creamy and the portion is huge. There’s rice cakes, fish cakes, and sausage, delicious! The service is amazing and friendly. They bring everything out to you after you ordered. Highly recommend coming here! I really enjoyed it.
Sorimmara was amazing! The food was full of flavor and served hot with a burner to keep it warm—such a thoughtful detail. I had the Rose Malatang and Crispy Chicken Katsu, and both were absolutely delicious. The malatang had a rich, spicy broth, and the katsu was perfectly crispy and tender. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Everything about the experience was top-notch. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Food was great. We did spicy Malatang and a non spicy one. They both were tasty. We loved that we could pick what we like in the hot pot and they made them for us.
Highly recommended! This was our first visit, and we had a fantastic experience. Our server was incredibly friendly and took the time to explain how Sorimmara works, making us feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious! We’ll definitely be back!
Been waiting for Tampa to get a Mala place! Everything EXCEEDED our expectations. The presentation, taste, and service was fantastic, and will be definitely come back with more people! We got dry mala and cream shrimp :)

The Malatang was super delicious, and the staff was friendly! I ordered Malatang at level 4, and it was quite spicy but very good. If you’re afraid of spice or don’t like it, there are different spice levels, starting from level 0, which is completely non-spicy. I’m so happy we finally have a great Malatang place in Tampa! Highly recommended!
Wonderful Chinese Korean fusion! They have a bunch of standard menu items and then a pick your own ingredients bar where they will cook it all up into a malatang (soup) or a stir fry and they charge by the pound. Best mala sauce in the New Tampa / USF area! Can't wait to go back!
They developed Malaxiangguo into its own Korean-style version, which is completely different from the Chinese one. The creamy cheese and rose flavor complement the spice, giving it a bold and thick taste. The server can help you with the secret Korean style sauce recipes. Remember to double-check the weight, as the price should only include the food and exclude the basket. The occasionally power outages can reset the zero.
Great experience! Food was very flavorful, we enjoyed the spicy ramen and mala mayo rice. Highly recommend both. We ate it all and enjoyed our service. Very kind and quick service. 10/10 recommend.
Amazing staff, food and music! Good vibes overrall, love coming here. Definitely need to try their customized hotpot style soup! Shareable size I usually split it with my wife!
We went there on a whim not knowing what we were walking into. Holy crap, it was amazing! It's a choose your own adventure and my adventure was excellent. If you get the stir fry you choose what veggies, noodles and proteins you get in your stir fry, choose the sauce and your desired level of heat and enjoy. The gentleman at the counter was super helpful with helping us choose stuff. If you dig spicy food, start at level 3. I definitely will go for 4 next time (5 is their hottest). Trust me, go in there, get some spicy stir fry or soup and grab a bottle of rice wine, you won't regret it!
The soup is so rich and price of fair. Petty good Mala Tang compared ones I hand in Seattle. Medium for me is pretty hot. I’ll try less spiciness next time. The sauce bar has big variety you can mix.
Loovve this restaurant! It's so tasty! The spices are fantastic and gives my taste buds an extra kick. It's spicy, even level 1 so beware. The vegetables are fresh and the beef, chicken, and seafood..( pork also for those who prefer) I enjoy the stir fry option. Each time I visit it's always delicious!

Interesting new addition to New Tampa. Place was empty when we walked in for dinner and wasn’t sure what to do but the employee was helpful in explaining things. Ingredients appeared fresh and I hope they can continue to do so until business picks up. We ordered one hot pot and one stir fry. Hot pot was kind of hard to eat. The soup bowls and plates are really small and the silverware if you ask for are so big that they don’t stay in the bowl or plate. And the meat pieces are cut so big that we had a tough time cutting in to bite sizes without knives which they didn’t provide. Hope they can address some of these small issues and get a five star review.

Malo Mayo Fried Rice tasted ok, but very expensive for $20. Didn't get a lot of meat. I don't think I'll be back, but it was interesting to try one time.

The food was great the first time I went here. I made the 40 minute drive so I could eat here again, I arrived at around 12:20pm for lunch just to discover that they were closed, despite their hours on the door saying they open at 11am. Their website and Google both say that they open at 11:30am. This was on a Wednesday, which is a day that they claim they are open. Definitely a little disappointing.
