Our party of five arrived here on a Wednesday night around 8ish and closed them out. When all seven tables are seated, it can get quite loud in here since the place is relatively small. However, it's certainly not loud enough to make conversations difficult. The atmosphere in here certainly feels like a NYC or Philly restaurant. The majority of our table had the Chef's tasting menu, with some others opting for the wine pairing as well. Since the menu changes daily, I won't bother going into a play-by-play of each dish. In general, the food here - from the first dish to the sixth dish - was delicious. The flavors ranged from simple yet powerful to complex but harmonious. Weird words to describe flavors, but it's true. I was surprised to find a spot like this in the Hartford area, and will definitely return.

Sitting at the Chef's bar was probably one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Ryan the chef was amazing to watch and the food was just incredible. My wife and I have been 5 times and never had a meal that didn't blow us away. The menu is never the same and the staff were very attentive.

Amazing. Each time we go there we try new dishes that are unique and exciting, and commonly there is one dish that blows us away. There are not many places where you can have consistently amazing food and get to talk to the owners while you eat. Sit at the counter and watch the chef cook for you. If you like fine dining or new American you have to go here.

"Gerry" in the other comment must be mentally challenged or something, whether you make the reservation over the phone or the Internet it's stated that you must leave a CC# as a deposit. What did you think that meant if you canceled? Some people are really ridiculas. The food, the atmosphere and the restraunt are so great its unfortunate that people like him would leave a 1 star review because he screwed up. Anyway, back to the restraunt, definitely try to get the Chefs counter if you can, watching Chef Ryan prepare your food right in front of you is an amazing experience. Also If you can do it try to get the chef's tasting menu, it's so great to have him explain what you are eating and why he prepared it the way he did. The restaurant is a definite "must try" if you live in the area.

Outstanding cuisine. Great atmosphere, you can see everything that the chef does to prepare your dinner. Just fun even if it is a little more expensive. As I was leaving, I was thinking to myself, how soon can I get back here.

It is a little pricey, but I think it may be the best food in the Hartford area.

Came here for nothing short of an exquisite New Years dinner. Highly recommend.

A nice place for slightly upscale dining in Connecticut. We arrived on time and had to wait 30 minutes for our table. It appeared that a party before us was unexpectedly camping out at their table long after they'd finished their food and drinks. The waiting area was very cramped. On the flip side, we were the last table to leave that evening and the staff never once rushed us to finish off our meal. The food was good. The menu was ambitious, and there were multiple starter courses I would have loved to try. The execution didn't quite work out to the menu's aspirations. Foie gras was paired with a mushy, dense, sweat bread and really deserved to be served with something that offered a texture contrast. I had a veal saltimbocca that was unremarkable and needed salt, which I had to ask for. Noise was reasonable. I was able to have a pleasant conversation with the people seated next to me, but I had to listen carefully to converse with the people seated across from me. This improved during the evening as more tables were emptied and the open kitchen wound down. There was a reasonable beer selection. The wine list was rather short, but we found a bottle that made us happy. The service was friendly and helpful. Take a look at the menu online. If the food and prices look interesting to you, this is a reasonable place to go to in Connecticut. In an urban center, you would have better choices than this, but in this area of Connecticut, The Mill at 2t is a good destination.

Very disappointing. For the price, the food is good, but not great. We went for a birthday celebration and my entree came out cold - twice. The first time they took the entree (sea bass over risotto with lobster), they reheated, but it wasn't heated evenly. The lobster was still cold. They took it back the second time and prepared a new dish. Meanwhile, my wife had her entree while we waited for mine to come back out. Some 30 minutes later, when my entree finally came back, my wife was done with her dinner. Not an ideal presentation or service. We won't be going back.

disappointing cuisine at this expensive location. food feels like it was made on a farm to table production line rather than with love from a chef.
