Burritos El Chavo Tarzana Reviews
Great, cozy, bright space, cafe feel (ceiling to ground glass storefront). TV/Cable behind order counter. Friendly and fast service. Delicious meal (ordered menu #1 plate: Pork Carnitas with rice, beans and tortillas) and ordered a generous size cup of robust house coffee. Just under $20! A satisfying deal. Definitely a place to enjoy returning to!
Mexican fast food. Food was ready in less than 5 minutes. Very simple chicken wet burrito with green and red sauce
Nice little taco shop, I got a beef burrito and jamaica Staff is professional and nice
I came in and tried their carne asada burrito 🌯 for the first time. It was delicious. The meat tasted fresh and it had good flavor. The inside of the burrito was juicy not dry like some burritos are. Burrito was full of flavor with cilantro, tomatoes, onion, beans and meat. No rice. I like it with no rice but I'm sure you can add it in. Friendly staff. I'll definitely return.
This place is authentic quality food. I eat at this location and the one on Riverside and Whitsett. Both are great! Highly recommended.
Simple flavors and delicious textures make up for the lack of friendliness behind the register or the worn out booths and tables. The menu was lacking taco-appeal so I opted for the chicken burrito and asked for it with salsa verde on top which was a genius stroke. Turns out the chicken burrito with salsa verde on top of it was probably the most delectable and memorable thing I have eaten in months. Spicy but not overly spicy and peppery but not overly so as well. Go here for the food not the service nor the style.
Tacos are good and flavorful. Carne asada is juicy and Smokey. Carnitas with the green sauce is delicious. Could use a free crispy bits for the carnitas but flavor is there.

I have only eaten Carnitas tacos, so tender. But what keeps me going back over and over is the Chili Relleno Burritos, they are OMG good. It's like a Chili Relleno dinner all wrapped up in in love. Ya gotta try it .
This place is incredible. Family owned spot and super friendly. Breakfast burritos were so good, I’m going back for dinner tonight.
This place is really good the machaca burrito was fresh with handmade tortillas. Delicious.
I used to come here 30 years ago as a teenager. Everytime I have to come back to the horrible valley, my only solace is the incredible SoCal Mexican, mainly this place. The Enchilada plate with a crispy shredded beef taco is absolutely to die for., Locals, please don’t take this gem for granted and please support it! The food is beyond incredible!

The food is excellent and is hot and ready within 5 minutes. They have unique delicious recipes for classic Mexican dishes. Everyone who works there is part of the family. EXTREMELY CLEAN. Open pretty late. What else could you want from a local LA Mexican spot?
Stopped by to try this small business. Please read the menu correctly before ordering, one chicken quesadilla with no side is 15.50. I got 2 quesadillas and an agua for 38.00. The taste was ok, definitely not a regular quesadilla I'm used to. This one had too much liquid and it was very mushy. If you don't like this type of quesadilla, don't order it. Definitely try the other items perhaps are more of your liking. The gentleman who helped me was very nice.

A) this place SKIMPS you on the MEAT/chicken (protein ) on all of its items and uses more BEANS to cover it. ( NASTY beans too) B ) the main lady (probably the owner ) white curly hair and pretty eyes , is not friendly, and gives some “IN-GROUP BIAS” vibes . C) the FOOD overall is NOT GOOD , and the PRICES makes it feel even WORSE …. D) the only positive side is that the food won’t give you food POISONING. E) TIP: Drive one more light to VICTORY/reseda, there is another taco shop there . Rant : they price for a burrito is~ $13.75 , Honestly ( I can not believe I am saying this ) you are better off going to TACO bell and spending ~$16 for a combo than rewarding this business with your money for a substandard quality of service and food .
Food quality more than average. A gentleman before me had ordered to eat in. I ordered take-out. I can tell you that my tacos were nothing like his. Expensive for what it is and one of the tacos was not what I asked for. Move on.
A friend of mine recommended this Mexican place, mentioning that it offered good-quality Mexican food, so I decided to give it a try. What he failed to mention, however, is the issue I’m about to describe. I travel frequently and am always on the lookout for solid tacos and burritos—foods that are convenient, quick, and satisfying when you’re constantly on the road. I don’t mind paying extra for quality ingredients or generous portions, but this place is truly inconsiderate. I ordered a burrito, and to my surprise, it was extremely small. The portions were even more shocking. The burrito comes with only two toppings: beans and your choice of one meat from the usual toppings. I ordered carne asada, and the portion of meat was no more than what you’d expect in a single street taco. The rest of the burrito was overwhelmingly beans, with the meat almost lost in them. Charging nearly $16 for a burrito of this size and composition and I mean literally less than 6X3 inches is hard to justify and absolutely pathetic. The value simply isn’t there. For comparison, Even Chipotle isn't as blatant as this place. Overall, everything on the menu is significantly overpriced for what you receive. It seems this place benefits from having little to no competition in the surrounding area, because otherwise, it would be difficult to sustain these prices. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and not one I would repeat. If you don’t care this is your place to go.
Live down the street and got the worst Mexican food ever. Quality is horrible and they do as they pleased, asked for a burrito combo without onions or tomato and got a soupy mess with tomatoes one of the two things I didn’t want, I also got a chicken quesadilla. I live down the street. By the time I walked home it was soggy as well. It has juice why would you make a quesadilla into soup?? Oh the grand total was nearly $40. Save your money and a headache go next door for a sandwich
I ordered a chicken tostada salad and this is what they gave me. I called the restaurant and the manager was completely rude! I asked him for a refund and that I would bring back the food, but he wouldn’t do it. I ordered chicken and they gave me beef. They changed me 12.50 for a plate of shredded lettuce and no tortilla shell. When I asked to speak with the store manager, he said that I couldn’t. Terrible service and the food is disgusting.

Absolute worst service I've ever gotten from any restaurant. Don't waste your time going here. They gave me the wrong order and tried blaming it on me, refusing to refund or work anything out with me. Very unprofessional and owner gave me such attitude just for asking for something to accommodate my time and gas wasted. They waited 15 mins to call me back saying I had the wrong food. I paid for someone elses order which was twice the price. I checked the receipts to see if it was the right order and of course, the receipt had no information about my order. The receipt just had the amount due. There's so many other Mexican spots that don't way better with amazing customer service. I've never had such a terrible time just trying to get some quick food.
This place is a joke. Horrible service like they're in a bad mood. Prices are too high for the junk you get. Every meal you get is basic with no sides and no extras. Tacos are tiny and burritos the size of a large potatoe. Save your money and go somewhere else. These ppl are trying to rip you off
I’ve been a loyal customer getting the same thing there was a different cashier charged me more than I usually pay . I would avoid going to this establishment Prices fluctuate and not consistent. Bad business
The lady taking the orders was very rude to me and my friends. She was very unprofessional and unwelcoming. We will not be going back due to her attitude.
