La Lonja Tehuacán Reviews
Me gustó el lugar para pasar una tarde de descanso frente al parque
The Bar La Lonja restaurant is a must-visit if you're visiting Tehuacán. The staff is friendly and very attentive, and the prices are affordable. The restaurant is located next to the main park. I went to this restaurant to try the traditional dish, Mole de Caderas, a goat or lamb dish from the Tehuacán region. It is considered one of the most important dishes in the states of Puebla and Oaxaca, due to the lengthy aging and careful preparation of the animal, from which all of the meat is used. The flavor of the dish is characteristic of the meat from goats that are taken on a year-long grazing journey through the southern regions of Puebla and northern Oaxaca. The cattle are fed only abundant amounts of salt and apples, and are kept hydrated only with lemon water. Every year on October 20th, the Matanza Festival takes place in Tehuacán, featuring dances and performances such as the Dance of the Matanza. The dish is a bit pricey, but it's worth it because it's delicious, especially if you pair it with a beer.
Excellent
It offers a varied menu (with both basic and well-known dishes) and seasonal dishes depending on the month you visit. The service provided by the wait staff is excellent. Due to its location in the city's main square, it may be inconvenient for those who don't want to hear too much noise. The dining room is located under an arcade and also has a closed-off area.
The place is nice because of its location, but the person in charge of the kitchen leaves a lot to be desired. Details like undercooked vegetables with canned vegetables are resold and the plate is returned to you. Huevos Rancheros (roasted eggs) has a delicious sauce, but the poached tortilla was bad, I got cold. The dishes are very simple. This is how the manager and his staff are, lacking in love for their work, not to mention the food.
The place is fine if you want to dine without so much noise and in a quiet, family-friendly setting. Delicious food... Although the sincronizadas aren't that great... the flavor of the cheese they add isn't the best. The club sandwich is fine... The service is fast and attentive. The atmosphere is calm compared to the clubs around... and where there are a lot of people drinking... (they're bars)
This restaurant is very typical of Tehuacán, it is on the corner of the portal in front of the main square, the service is good and the dishes are very varied for breakfast or lunch, in special seasons the seasonal dishes, it has tables outside and a few inside, the dishes are of normal quality and flavor, for breakfast the bread and coffee are not the best flavor
Too pricey but delicious jamón serrano tortas.
Es un lugar de mucha tradición por estar en los portales de la Ciudad de Tehuacán, pero considero que ya cayó su calidad, los precios son altos y la atención debería mejorar.
I didn't take a photo but it was a very sad meal. The service from the waiters was very good and quick. I wouldn't come back or recommend the place.
I went here because apparently, it was a popular local place. I was disappointed. Food was generic at best, and for the prices we paid, we could have went to a tastier place instead.
Food was good but service too slow.
Se tardaron en la comida, mal servicio... Nos esperamos una hora por un omelette..
They took a long time to serve us for some simple fries that were for my younger cousin, and it took half an hour to get served.
I don't recommend this place. It's well located, but that's about it. The food takes forever to serve, it doesn't taste good, and they serve you a tiny portion. We ordered a grilled chicken breast and it was as thin as a sheet of paper (too bad I didn't take a picture). We ordered a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich and they put three almost transparent slices of avocado on it. I think the only good thing is the café con leche. The prices are high for the small portions they serve, the bathrooms are small and uncomfortable, and the waiter seemed grumpy.
