What a relief to come down the escalator and smell delicious Texas BBQ after being abroad for 2 weeks. I was bummed though because the staff were just closing the ropes off and shutting the door on a chance to sink my teeth in some delicious meat! The man Tadros saved me. He said hey man, You look hungry come on in, you can be last customer. They were in the middle of mopping and cleaning but welcomed me in. Fantastic customer service, I really felt the love. Thanks for being so awesome! Now the food is as always fantastic at Salt Lick. I had the ribs, potato salad and cole slaw. Wow, so good. Thanks being here and being awesome! Much appreciated!!!!

Eat in, eat outside. They smoke it inside. So the smell is everywhere. Gift shops lots of open land there. It seemed like a family event. I had a giant 48 oz ribeye. I believe there was a band. I sampled some of my friends food, portions were huge. Price was on the higher side. But, its a ton of food. we were all pleased. It was a blast.

Hellooooo “world travelers”!!! 👋 If you happen to be at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, United States 🇺🇸 and you are open to trying something delicious, you must check out The Salt Lick...Barbeque Like No Other. 🤗 They know how to cook!!! 🏆 They have an EXCELLENT menu, portions good-sized with plenty to enjoy leftovers on the plane ✈️ onto your next destination. 👍 I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO MADLENE AND TADROS!!! 🥰🥰 They are super friendly, passionate, nothing more wonderful than to be received with HUGE SMILES 😁😁 like a WARM HUG after waiting at gates and flying around all day long. 🥱🫩🥴. This dynamic team (see photo) will be sure to wake you up and promise you a “delightful” meal! 😋 Thank you, Shenouda for taking my call. I ate at your restaurant in 2023. Clearly, it is never too late to share positive feedback! 😇 🙏 🥳 Thank you, Madlene and Tadros for being so cool. 😎

It smells so good as I was walking to my gate on September 24th that after dropping off my luggage I had to walk back and order me some bbq. The brisket was so delicious and tender 🤤 I didn't really care for the potato salad so didn't eat it. To me it was too late vinegary but some people like that🤷🏼‍♀️. I enjoyed everything else.

We really enjoyed this bbq restaurant. You are at an airport so, of course, it will never be the same as being to a regular place (disposable plates and cutlery, etc.) Still, the food was delicious and the service was quick, which is what you want when you are flying. Bbq sauce excellent!

Absolutely delicious and friendly staff. You can smell it coming down the escalator. For 20 bucks a good sausage sandwich with fries and drink. For an airport price that is great

First time in Texas, Needed BBQ. Nice guy at the counter said Brisket for sure so we went with the Chop Chop sandwich with Brisket and Sausage. Great smoke flavor, good BBQ sauce, awesome bread and speedy fast service. Now time for a nap on the plane.

Best seating nook in the airport. Calm and quiet off the path. Perfect for enjoying this treat of an airport eatery. I got the sample platter to try their variety. 3 meats and 3 sides. All were very good. The service was quick for my in-between flight run. Kind staff and clean setup. There are some good ones here but by far this one is top shelf. Hands down know their BBQ!

The Mac & cheese was awesome! The sweet tea was flavorful. But sadly, my brisket was pretty dry :( The BBQ sauce was good, it reminded me of a sweet onion sauce mixed with traditional bbq sauce. The nachos were very filling. Overall, I would go back.

Had the sampler platter and the meats were pretty good. Didn't enjoy the sides. The beans were cold. Potato salad was flavorless and the coleslaw tasted sour.

Visited while on a layover at DFW. Service was fairly quick in having your order ready and also offered takeout options. The pulled pork sandwich was okay as it was a decent portion size and had okay flavour with tender meat. However, it was a bit pricey for just the sandwich and somewhat forces you to get the platter/combo meal for better value. Overall, an okay spot at the airport to get Texas BBQ.

The meat was good. The Cloe slaw and corn were not that good. Baked beans were pretty good. A little sweet but tasty. The brisket was very good. Overall I would say kind of expensive even for airport food.

Considering that it's at an airport, the food is quite good. The meat tastes really good (I had the brisket) and the sauce too, but I find the bread too thick! They have draft beer, but only lone star. Added bonus, they have benches with outlets.

The food was standard for an airport location: the brisket had a lot of fat and there wasn't much in the sandwich, the potato was relatively cold and not that fresh, etc. In addition, the price was too high for the value. The service was ok but quite fast. Might not come back.

Average airport food… A delayed connecting flight gave us an opportunity to stop by here for some barbecue. We ordered the Smoked brisket, Coleslaw and French Fries. The service was fine but nothing extraordinary. The restaurant itself was unkept. Tables were dirty, as was the floor which had left over food/chips on it. The food was fine, but not what we had expected due to their reputation. The biggest disappointment is that these airport locations are a ‘gateway’ to a clientele dining at your actual restaurants. But after this visit, we won’t be heading back to a Salt Lick in the States - period.

The staff is great, and the food was made quickly, but for $20 a lunch, I was hoping my smoked Texas BBQ would have had better flavor. When I filled up my cup, the first two fountain drinks of choice were empty so I settled for my third. For a BBQ place I thought I'd find napkins, but all they had were the one ply ones that came with your plastic fork. The coleslaw was disappointing. It was cabbage with salt and pepper. My spouse had brisket nachos which he thought was okay. I had the turkey sandwich, and it had no smoky flavor, and was a bit dry. I do love smoking my own food, so maybe I'm picky, I wouldn't go here again.

Saw the joint when transiting through Dallas Ft Worth airport, but couldn't stop by, since I had to catch my flight. On the way back, I had half an hour layover, so I finally stopped by for a quick bite, two weeks after my first visit. Perhaps that alone inflated my expectation for a good Texan BBQ. I ordered the sampler plate with pulled pork, brisket, and sausage. I got fries, coleslaw and corn for sides. It wasn't cheap, but for an airport dining option, I could tolerate it. The pork was okay, and the brisket could be more tender, but the slaw was tasteless. Perhaps it was late in the day, and I got a bad batch, but it was quite disappointing. The sausage, on the other hand, was the saving grace. The casing was not as snappy as I would like, but I could taste the seasoning in the meat. But would I return here for the sausage alone? Perhaps, but I wish I have more reasons to do so.

We were in the Dallas Airport and looking for a quick bite to eat. It was quick but the food was cold and not flavorful. We got the sausage sandwich, which was on special, the brisket plate with fries, corn and baked beans, the chop chop sandwich, and coleslaw. Like I said, the food was cold, fries were not seasoned, corn was not buttered and the baked beans were not seasoned either. They asked if we wanted sauce on our sandwiches and brisket and we said yes, but the amount of BBQ sauce they put on the food was so minimal we couldn't even tell. Had to wait another 5 minutes to get someone's attention to get some more BBQ sauce.

Stopped into Salt Lick during a layover. I had the Pork Rib platter. The ribs weren’t bad, fell off the bone, but just nothing to write home about. And a little pricey - 3 ribs for $20 but I understand airport pricing. I’m glad I asked for the BBQ sauce in the side because it had a honey mustard taste to it that would’ve really taken away from my ribs. My girl had the Brisket Nachos, and it came with pinto beans, jalapeños and lots of cheese. She said they were delicious! I’d say the best part of dining at Salt Lick for me was the setting. In a busy airport they offer a nice quiet get away with a good seating area. Lastly the service was great! The man who took my order was very polite. Took me off guard when their card machine asked for a tip when no service was really provided. I gave them a tip to not be rude but heads up on that

This visit was on 10/2/20. I'm was DFW for a connecting flight to Vegas. I wanted to try something different and this was on special for $11.99. Ordering was rather quick and easy. Getting my food took a bit, but I think it was because they were waiting on fries. They didn't have sweet tea, only unsweetened tea and that made me sad. I got Sprite Zero instead. The fries were really good and nicely seasoned. A sauce came on the sandwich and I was not a fan. There was a lot of sauce too. It tasted like maybe a mustard based sauce, I'm not sure. The sauce comes on the side in addition to on the sand which. The bread it comes on plus the way they position the sausage made it difficult to eat without tearing the bread into sections and making mini sandwiches. I think I would've enjoyed it better without the sauce. It didn't seem too overpowering with it on the sandwich than using it as a dip for my fries.

Its the Airport so don’t get too excited. Brisket was tough and chewy. Definitely not how brisket is supposed to be. Don’t let them fool you. The “BBQ BEANS” were nothing but meatless canned chili beans. The plastic wear they provide was incapable of cutting my brisket. $35 with tip and bottle water is ridiculous.
