Frankie’s Java House The Embarcadero Reviews
They were extremely friendly. I'm not a burger person and one the reasons is because of how messy it usually gets. I was pleasantly surprised that the smash burgers were not only moist and juice but also NOT A HOT MESS. My plate was not covered in sauce and nothing ran down my hands. They tasted great. I was also surprised that they came with the most amazing fries. So many places try to nickel and dime you no and make you pay extra for a side but this place certainly does not. I absolutely loved the fries and wa sad I didn't have time to eat them all fresh. For the location, the price is honestly not bad. Tip is already included and they do have a line for "additional tip" so keep an eye for that when paying.
Best lemon pepper wings ever. Fries are crispy. Fish tacos were juicy. What more could you ask for on a sweet Saturday afternoon with your friends, straight off the sailboat. 🤙❤️🩷⛵️
Frankie's definitely doggie friendly. Walk in take seat at bar - drink for me and kimmy - impressive 👌 Find yourself on the Embarcadero stop by with your furry friend. Enjoy 😉
Great (like REALLY great) burger — maybe even one of the best in SF!! If you’re a fan of In-n-Out burger, then you’ll love the smash burger. It’s got a thousand island sauce reminiscent of the fast food chain, but elevated with caramelized onions, fresh pickles, double smashed patties, and a soft brioche bun. I’m a BIG fan of bread and butter pickles and was pleasantly surprised by their addition in the burger — but if you don’t like the flavor of them, make sure to order yours without. The fries were good, though nothing particularly special. The tables all had mustard, ketchup, and hot sauce, so if you’re a fellow saucy guy like myself you can add to your heart’s content! The service was really great. We ordered two burgers but only one came out — after about 10 minutes of waiting, we told the bartender and he realized he never put the other one in (and hadn’t charged us for it on our order). He was very apologetic and quickly brought us the second one, on the house! It was an honest mistake, and he made sure to make it right. They clearly value their customers here, and we appreciate that!! The vibe here is no-frills but is really clean with a bit of a 50’s diner feel. There were lots of diners on their way to the Giants game (as we were walking over to Frankie’s, we heard a mom in a Giants jersey telling her family how good Frankie’s was and how close they were to the restaurant. They arrived just after us!) You can expect the food to come out quickly and the beer to be cold. Let’s go Giants!!!
When you think of a hot and juicy cheeseburger, you are thinking about Frank’s Smashburger. Get it with everything and a side of crispy fries, you’re welcome!
October 2024: Stopped by for a smash burger and a beer 🍺. The smash burger 🍔 was tasty and came with fries 🍟. The fries were perfectly cooked! Very good beer selection. Got a barebottle Muir Woods hazy IPA. Excellent 👍 and would definitely come back again. Sat outside in the patio. Weather was hot 🔥 so it was perfect to hang out. Service was friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great meal.
Came during the middle of the day, no wait at all and open tables. Food was brought out within 10 minutes. Good atmosphere, service, vibes, and more importantly burger. Off the hook.
I have been a resident of the neighborhood for over 15 years and frequented The Java House before the Fankie’s change over and remodel. This place is my new favorite haunt, as I work in the marina as well. The have great food and friendly staff. I have tried their hamburger which I would give 4 🌟’s, their fish and chips were fantastic and would give 5 stars 🌟’s and today had their all day special which is a Burger Dog and a Beer! Loved it! This place has an awesome location next to South Beach 40 Marina and Oracle Park. It’s a must for neighbors and visitors. only thing that I would improve about this place is their hours of operation. As I’m always bummed that they close so early. In the neighborhood and there’s not that many restaurants that are open past six.
Casual dog-friendly bar with great burgers and fries right next to Oracle Park and the docks. Their smash burgers are delicious and always satisfying with their grilled onions. The inside is tiny with lots of historic SF Giants decorations on the walls, but they have a large patio area which is great when it's a little warmer and the sun is out. I miss their burger dog special though.
Love their happy hour offerings, $1 for chicken wing and $5 mimosa. Chicken wings are delicious too. Vibe is also chill
This place is incredible—we sat inside at the bar and were served by Eugene. Let me tell you, this man is a wizard. We just described the drinks we wanted and the base and he whipped something up. It was probably one of the best gin cocktails I’ve ever had! Eugene is a great listener and really has a great handle on his drink making. I loved the vibe of this bar and cannot wait to come back.
We stopped in before a Sunday game and had breakfast and drinks. Definitely get the Bloody Mary, you won’t be disappointed!
The patio here is perfect for a sunny brunch by the water. Service was great, they even had treats for our dogs! Calamari and crab sandwich were good, but it was the Bloody Mary that stood out and why I will absolutely be back!
Met friends and had a great dirty martini and view.
Frankie’s is the best neighborhood spot! Their fish tacos are some of the best in SF. We love sitting outside in the sun or posting up at the bar. The staff and bartenders are always welcoming - we love bringing our pups and out of town guests here!

Great Food and Great Drinks! This is a great little stop if you're at the park or just getting back from boating. I had the clam chowder and a smash burger. Both were great. Its a small place and seating is first come, first serve. I love stopping here when I am at South Beach Harbor. Its right on the water and even has games outside.
Best dining experience of the trip! Stopped in on a whim for a quick lunch on the way to our hotel and left full and super impressed. Everyone's food tasted fresh, and the fish and chips were fantastic! Burger and onion rings were great also. The kids noticed some fruit sitting on the bar for drinks, and the gentleman working kindly sliced up an orange for them to share and showered them with attention. Great customer service, nice outdoor seating with a view, and super solid food. Highly recommend!
Food was ready quick. Three burgers in 15 minutes. Too many fries though. Great little local business and the staff are very kind. Great views too with a grass patch near by för the dogs.

This is the place to go before games. It's less than a 10 minute walk to the park and the lot across the street is cheap. Beer and a dog special comes with fries and is cheaper than a beer at the park. They are friendly and quick. Sit in the sun outside. Clean restrooms too.
Frankie’s Java House is a cool spot overall and a decent place to stop in if you’re in the area. The space has a relaxed, casual vibe that works well for grabbing food, hanging out, or just taking a break with a drink. It feels like it has a lot of potential as a neighborhood go-to. The food was good for the most part. One small note, the fries were pretty heavy on the salt and could definitely use a lighter hand there. Aside from that, everything was enjoyable and well prepared, and nothing felt like a miss. They offer a wide variety of food options, which is nice if you’re with a group or have different preferences. There’s also a solid selection of drink options, making it easy to find something whether you’re in the mood for coffee, something refreshing, or a casual bite and sip. Service is where this place could improve. The staff weren’t rude, but they also weren’t very welcoming or talkative. A bit more friendliness and engagement would go a long way in making the experience feel warmer and more inviting.
Frankie’s a good place if you’re coming off Muni and looking for a place to eat. Especially before Giants games. I recently went there during lunch and I was surprised by how fast they got my order. Everything about it was super easy and quick. Also, eating in the patio made it a great experience.

Great place to get some food before going to the park. The food is better and half the price what you can buy inside Oracle. Great place to people and dog watch.
Pretty nice stop in before game on Sat and friendly enough. One bartender was way more engaging and upbeat than the others. Hot dog was of high quality and a good deal with beer. Everyone needs to recognize out of towners though and just engage yes? I tried.
