Il Portico Toirano Reviews
We tried several dishes, from the appetizer to the tartare, the farinata, and the focaccia di Recco, all truly delicious. The owner was infinitely patient and very attentive to our rather lively four-year-old granddaughter. Highly recommended. We hope to return, especially since the restaurant overlooks a beautiful little square.
Excellent pinsa and farinata. Professional and friendly owners. We'll be back. We went back this evening, and I have to reiterate what I wrote a month ago! Everything was excellent, and if you want a SUPER farinata, try Portico! We love farinata, and we've tried it at several places, but this one really stands out. Truly top-quality ingredients. Well done, Antonella and all the staff. See you soon!
A very elegant restaurant in the heart of Toirano's historic center, it's definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and they found us a table even though it was quite late. The dishes are tasty, and among the off-menu options, we were very pleased with the mixed antipasto and pansoti with walnut sauce. The prices are definitely fair. Highly recommended!
Excellent pizza. Outstanding dough and great ingredients!
We walked in and were lucky to be seated right away. We had a pizza and langustine and shrimps pasta and some great house wine. Food was delicious but the service was even better. Got 2 shots of their home made Amaro for dessert on the house. Definitely recommend but you should be making reservations.
Clean, tastefully decorated yet simple, the staff were welcoming, and the quality/price ratio was very good. We tried a bit of everything, from starters to main courses to desserts: everything was excellent. Plus, there's no cover charge (the bread is delicious), which we really appreciated! They also catered for gluten-free options, with fresh pasta and bread available. 🎾🎾🎾
After visiting the caves, we decided to stop for lunch in the quaint village of Toirano. We chose Il Portico partly because they have many gluten-free dishes, which for me, being celiac, is almost always a dream. We ate divinely (the gnocchi with pesto were exceptional), and the place is very welcoming, as are the staff. The quality-price ratio is above average. It will remain among the fondest memories of our first trip to Liguria. Thank you!
Super
Everything was perfect !
Delicious pizza and a big choice of the local craft beer 🍻
A very lovely restaurant. Delicious food and outstanding service. Excellent!
A culinary experience that combines authentic flavors, Ligurian tradition, and warm hospitality. At Il Portico, I savored cuisine that showcases local products with creativity and attention: each dish speaks of Liguria, from the flavors of the sea and land to the always-fresh seasonal offerings. The atmosphere is intimate and welcoming, perfect for feeling at home while enjoying professional and attentive service. Fun fact: the restaurant is located near the center of Toirano, easily accessible, and is also the ideal starting point for a stroll through the village's alleys and famous caves. 💡 Why go: Ideal for those seeking an authentic culinary experience, where Ligurian tradition meets quality and contemporary taste, without sacrificing a warm welcome. 💡 Tip: Try the seasonal dishes and let the staff recommend pairings with local wines; every bite is a little journey through the region. ✨ Il Portico is a must-see in Toirano for those who love authentic flavors, refined dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere. 👉 Perfect for a special dinner or a relaxing lunch in Liguria!
After several dinners here, I recommend trying their crispy pinsa. It'll be hard to choose from the myriad of toppings offered... But I say: dare! There are unique and original combinations that are worth it. I chose "Toma e Mirtilli" with fior di latte, Toma Brigasca della Valle Roja (a Slow Food Presidium), Frabosa honey, Patanegra lard, and fresh blueberries. The cooked blueberries are sweet, the lard not too salty, a combination of bold flavors that I really enjoyed! Among the appetizers, their Russian salad is a must. And to top it all off, we tried the breaded and fried anchovies stuffed with mortadella and cheese, delicious to say the least. The restaurant is small and chaotic inside, while the outside is definitely cooler. Reservations are always recommended.
Very nice restaurant, tasty food. The peperonata was delicious. Good portion to be able to take primo and secondo piatto. Price was ok too.
Last night we had dinner at Portico and had high expectations. Unfortunately, we ordered a pizza and a pinsa, but they didn't satisfy us. The dough is decent enough, but the toppings were sparse. The pizza was anemic, meaning many parts weren't even covered in tomato sauce. The pinsa was a little better, although more like a bakery pizza. We ate them anyway, out of hunger, not taste. Never mind. We wanted to order second courses, but disappointment took over. The location is beautiful, the staff is generally friendly, but I wouldn't recommend this place. I'm also sorry that following my review, the owner responded in a truly unprofessional manner... I think reviews should be accepted, even if it helps us improve. But not everyone is a professional.
Pizza was not good. The ingredients were like the cheapest from supermaket. The pizza cake was medium quality. Definitely not Italian standard. When we asked for bill we were waiting more then 10 minutes. Prices are ok.
