Caffè Gaia Torino Reviews
I visited this pastry shop for breakfast on Sunday morning at the counter and to pick up some pastries to go. The place is small but very cute, well-kept, and welcoming, with a counter full of delicious pastries. It's not easy to find such good pastries, and I must say that despite the crowds, the service was friendly and efficient. I don't understand why it has such a low rating.
We often stop for breakfast, and I'm always fascinated by the display case and the countless delicacies on offer. My little man has always been pampered by the staff. Highly recommended!
I often go to Pasticceria Gaia for breakfast and can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere is welcoming, the staff is always friendly and smiling, and the products are truly delicious. They have a wide selection of pastries, all delicious. A perfect place to start the day with a smile.
Breakfast on Sundays, always kind and helpful staff, always very busy and excellent sweet and savoury breakfast with a wide choice
The cappuccino was decent (too much foam and too much cinnamon). The semi-sweet sandwich with zucchini and mozzarella was delicious! I recommend this bar (since her daughter took over the management and serving). A word of advice: don't let the lady (the owner) serve; it's not her job!
The coffee is good, but I don’t recommend their pastries, especially with that price. The service was good and the atmosphere is beautiful.
They've changed the decor (which is understandable!!), but I'd go to a professional! 2 regular cappuccinos 1.70/dek 1.80 2 freshly squeezed juices with ice, good without 8€ 1 apple puff pastry, very good 2.20 1 bombolone, good 1.70 1 zeppola 5€. It wasn't creamy inside, but had the consistency of ricotta. It was 9/10 in the morning, so I assume it wasn't old! 🤷🏻♀️it wasn't good.
Few vegan options - only one! Expensive considering the location - €2,3 for a small cappuccino with soy milk.
All showmanship. Mediocre products. High prices. We're not even in the center of Turin!
It's been at least five years since I've been to this pastry shop, which I've frequented twice a week for at least three years. This review won't be based on the quality of the product, but rather on the attitude of the staff/owner—I don't know (I'm not referring to the baristas, who were kind and helpful). I bought three breakfast products, mindful of their goodness and quality. Unfortunately, this morning they weren't as good as they used to be, and I'm not referring to freshness, but rather to a more technical issue. The products hadn't developed properly; they were still raw inside, not due to a cooking error, but rather to a leavening error. I called the pastry shop to report the problem, without going into too much detail, only saying that the products were still raw inside. In response, I was told that none of the customers before or after me had complained (using a rather firm and annoyed tone). They told me to go back and return the products. I explained that my call was simply a warning to avoid serving products unfit for sale, but I was simply dismissed in an annoyed tone. I returned to the pastry shop and asked to speak to the owner. A young lady arrived, and I asked her to move aside so as not to let other customers hear my complaint. I showed her the products, and the young lady went into the kitchen to speak to the pastry chef. The pastry chef arrived and, using the same tone she had used on the phone, tried to dismiss me, using the excuse that the products were artisanal, and that sometimes they don't turn out as well as they should. All I needed to do, when I called, was take the same product I complained about from the display case (which was there when I returned) and check whether I was right or wrong. Sometimes, to avoid embarrassment and bad reviews, all it takes is a little reason and humility. That's all.
I was here today, and the waiter offered us a pistachio cream, but I think the pistachio was covered in gold because it cost €6.50 each. Two creams, a coffee, and a small bottle of water, €15.30. Congratulations. How to get free publicity. Let's hope it's done soon. Close this place down, at least it gives other honest people a job.
