Smocking bar Torino Reviews
Very nice and very good, a place away from the traffic, in the best part of Turin. I haven't been there in a while, but at the MAUTO 100 RISTORANTI evening they made a truly excellent hazelnut and salted caramel panna cotta.
I had dinner with friends at this truly delightful restaurant. The place is incredibly charming and refined, with meticulous attention to detail and a welcoming, elegant atmosphere: the perfect choice for making a great impression. The wine list is excellent, with very interesting options: the Gewürztraminer is a real gem, aromatic and well-selected. We tried the carne cruda and vitello tonnato, both dishes truly well executed and a delight for the palate. To conclude, the desserts were a delightful surprise, delicious and beautifully presented. A truly positive experience: I'll gladly return!
I spent a pleasant evening at this restaurant, which reminded me of a French bistro. The food is excellent, as is the wait staff, always welcoming and helpful. I particularly appreciate the very varied wine list.
A charming little place! The daily specials are delicious, like the rabbit tapas and ravioli del pilin. The veal with tuna sauce is excellent, but it's a shame about the honey. The quality of the ingredients is excellent! And to finish on a sweet note, the bonet bianco is truly exquisite!
Very nice restaurant!

A very charming place, with unique and carefully crafted decor, including a counter and signs that still recall its ancient origins as a tobacconist's/bar. The wait staff is empathetic, professional, and very attentive. The menu features unique dishes, and the idea of including tapas is a great one. Everything is prepared with excellent ingredients and plated with great skill...every dish is worth trying, it's almost impossible to recommend one in particular...even the simple apple fritter is served and prepared with a touch of sophistication...what can I say? 🔝 Compliments to the Chef!!!! The menu offers excellent value. The wine list is a bit pricey compared to the actual value of the bottles. The owner's choice to seek out lesser-known producers is commendable, although it's often difficult to find a perfectly balanced wine with well-defined flavors and aromas. The sommelier who supplies the cellar and compiles the wine list should have considerable training and experience and be present in the dining room to advise diners, and in this context, I think the presence of such a role is excessive. This is why I believe that a well-known and renowned winery offering champagnes, whites, and reds could be a better option for a diner with experience in tasting and pairing... the dishes are worth it! The cocktails and aperitifs are excellent, prepared and served very well. I recommend everyone to stop by this small and unique establishment in the Turin foothills... my less than entirely positive assessment of the wine list in no way detracts from the great value of the dishes offered!
First time here, and it was a pleasant discovery. Excellent service, and the wine recommendations were much appreciated. The dishes were beautifully presented and, I must say, very good and truly homemade! The location was lovely; we ate in the small, beautifully decorated outdoor area! Congratulations! See you soon!
Nice and quaint neighborhood place to get wine.
The atmosphere inside is excellent. The appetizers are called tapas, but they're more appetizers than tapas. The wine list is a sore point: extensive and of good quality. It's a shame that 90% of the bottles under €30 are sold out. And we're not talking about 100 bottles, so there are only about ten left to order. We're talking about a couple of bottles you can order if you don't want to spend a fortune. The food is average and not up to par. Everything is good, but not commensurate with the cost.
We had been looking forward to checking this place out for months but were sadly disappointed within the first 10 seconds of arriving. Despite having booked weeks in advance (for our anniversary meal) we got told we had to sit in the box outside because we hadn’t stipulated that we wanted an indoor table - even though the option does not exist when you book online. It’s clearly an established place, with what looked like nice, atmospheric interiors but the team were dismissive, unwelcoming and not looking for new customers - With the shining exception of their young waitress who was very kind and helpful. Food was not bad, some quirky options, but nothing memorable. Can’t say I’ll be going back :/
The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and the setting was intimate and refined. However, I found the menu to be inefficient and pretentious. Unfortunately, I'm celiac, and there are no gluten-free options available. A gluten-free pasta dish isn't that hard to find these days, yet it wasn't possible, as was the request for gluten-free bread: I was just served crackers and nothing else. Since there are no gluten-free options, I was forced to settle for meat, which I didn't want to eat, especially given the type of food they offered: no fine cuts, just so-called offal and the like: esophagus, liver, sweetbreads, tail, pig's trotters (!!)... alternatives like mutton or horsemeat (which inevitably isn't everyone's cup of tea). Let's just say that for a restaurant with such pretensions, it almost sounds like a mockery. I reluctantly opted for the so-called "diaphragm," which was supposed to be served "escaloppinato" (sliced into strips), but I couldn't eat it because of the flour. The meat was, consequently, bland and tough, served with a side of two leaves of some kind of vegetable I can't recall now. When it came to dessert, another sore point arose, as again I had only one option: panna cotta. Excellent quality wine for €35. They have a respectable list, but not for every budget: prices start from €30 a bottle and go up to €100. The total bill for two people, including two appetizers, one first course, one second course, two coffees, and a bottle of good wine, was €100, with a few questionable options that didn't satisfy me.
A man at the entrance door greets me with a stinking smell. A smell of weed. He must have just finished smoking before asking me what business I had there. Someone at the front door of the bar during…
