I read the negative reviews first. I guess everyone has a different experience. Service, it is very busy this Thursday night, service was great for a very busy night. There could be better but there could also be much worst. 5 stars for service. Service here is never ever one star. Speak up if the miss you, this is a big place. Flavor, this chicken has a nice soy flavor. Very nice. Not as crispy as a Korean fried chicken, which is great cause this is not a Korean restaurant. My dipping sauce, wasabi mayo, and crispy garlic chile oil. Perfect. I ordered the cucumber appetizer, brilliant.

Came for lunch with kids, they loved the food. Reminded us of our Japan experience. The fried chicken was killer. We loved the pudding for dessert. We will come back!

I got the 3 Piece Combo (Thigh, Breast, Wing) and the Garlic Rice. The fried chicken was delicious and juicy! I would have preferred a beer with it but alas, I was driving at the time. The Garlic Rice was alright. Definitely garlic flavor, but over all didn’t compliment the fried chicken. Might be for the bone in chicken but that will try that next time

Great food , great beer and wonderful staff. What else can you ask for? Chicken with bone in is the star but everything else complimented everything . All door we ordered tasted good and fresh.

This place was great! My husband and I really enjoyed eating here. Can't wait to come back and order the rest of their menu. We had the bone-in chicken with the rice balls and mentai mayo. For drinks, the sherbet lemon soda and for dessert the matcha tiramisu. If you're a matcha lover, a definite must order. 😍🥰 staff were really nice and accommodating too. ❤️🙏

4.5 rounded to a 5 - came here around 9pm after a round of golf in pv. This place had been on my bookmarked list, and their late (ish) hours led us to give the place a try, and boy, it did not disappoint. We ordered the mascarpone and black beans with crackers app, and it was delicious! Their main chicken entree, garlic fried rice, and their udon were also all very good (would pass on the rice next time). We ended the meal with the matcha tiramisu and left super stuffed and satisfied.

I’ve been to the restaurant a few times. I ordered some appetizers (cucumber, tako wasa), bone-in chicken, garlic rice, fried chicken (gizzard, thigh, etc.), and matcha tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious! The staff were very nice too. I want to try the different item on the menu next time.

The vibe is cozy, the service is great, staff very friendly and polite. We ordered Shaka Shaka fries with truffle salt which has good flavor of truffle but not overpowering. Karate Soft bone and thigh, the soft bone has a firm satisfying crunch, both pair well with the provided condiments. The salt and pepper is fantastic, it mixes well with kewpie mayo. The high light is the bone in chicken, paired well with garlic rice. I highly recommend this place. Come in early at night or make reservations, the line can be a little long.

Recently went here for dinner, we got there 10 mins before our 5pm reservation and the waitress was super nice to let us know we could get beers at happy hour price which ended in 10 mins. We got a beer and ordered a their most popular drinks one having lemon sorbet and the other fresh orange juice, the drinks are strong and delicious. The food is soooo good, we started with appetizers the cucumber is to die for! Main entree, the oven chicken which was the star of the show so flavorful, juicy and tender they pour chicken fat over the garlic fried rice. Will definitely be recommending this place and coming back. The staff is super nice and attentive! Restaurant is very clean.

Nice place in old Torrance. Staff is very friendly. This place has a nice atmosphere. It reminds me of the restaurants I've been to in Japan. I had the Curry with fried chicken and the matcha IPA. Desert was a kind of matcha mouse. If you're in old Torrance, please try this place. I look forward to my next visit.

New Japanese chicken place opened up. It's not a BIG place, but it's comfortable for 4 people. Everything we ate was SO good and fresh. The price value for the food is def much better than other japanese places. We def coming back.

The food is delicious overall. However, since the restaurant is usually very busy, even if you make a reservation, it’s difficult to enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace because of the next reservation. It’s a great place to enjoy drinks and have conversations with friends, but you are expected to finish your meal within about an hour and a half. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the food is definitely worth it.

Gaburi Chicken is a spot that recently opened up! The popcorn chicken is amazing; excellent flavor! This is a popular place, so be aware that you may have to head to the restaurant early! Parking is somewhat difficult to find, so be aware of this also! Overall, this place deserves 5-stars!

So good I want to gatekeep it before it gets too popular and hard to get a seat!! The dinner menu is a delight -- the bone-in chicken is a must, but it takes 20 minutes to roast so order it as soon as you sit down. Pair it with the garlic rice and have them pour the chicken juice into it. The fried chicken is always juicy and tender. The table-side roasted mackerel is great, the mascarpone cheese with crackers is a unique delight. We always end up ordering our faves but we haven't been unhappy with anything on the menu here. Recommended for dinner (the lunch menu is a bit different with chicken rice bowls, also good but the dinner is the standout).

A Japanese chicken spot that features various different styles of cooked chicken. The fried chicken is the real star, to be honest, the other styles aren’t that great. The fried chicken is like a karaage style of chicken. The cucumbers are a favourite and quite tasty. Definitely a good lunch spot to grab a quick bite.

The place is very traditional. Today I had the garlic rice and the thights, the rice was great and the thights were ok. What impressed me as always was the presentation, they were clean, an a lot of details in the building as well as in the food. Desserts were so nice and delicious!

Tried lots of fun appetizers with friends. Had a lively bar atmosphere and the staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend the Tomaran Bou (fried spaghetti), it's strangely addictive! Tako wasa was refreshing.

When I got a lemon sorbet slushie, I didn't really taste the lemon. My friend had the same experience when he got the orange sour. Another thing I didn't like was how sour the sorbet was. I know it's a sour, but this was way too much. I think that the reason that you couldn't taste the fruit is because the sourness overpowered it. My friend also thinks that the orange sour was too watery. I would have given it only 1 star, but, I actually really loved the chicken. It was crunchy, but not too dry, perfectly moist. Also, the Udon was AMAZING! In addition to that, the service was fast and really nice. I also loved the dessert.

Bone-in chicken is good to try, but it takes little bit long to cook. The karaage(fried chicken) is not as good as I expected. The coating is soooo thick, the meat is just slightly flavored, or marinate time too short? It's juciy and tender but lack of flavor.(in my opinion)

I really wanted to love this place after hearing so much about it, but I thought on my visit, it was just okay. Some standouts, some just okay. I would come back to give this place another chance. Parking is easy in Old Torrance area. This place gives that small seating environment with nice vibes. It’s more of a place for snacks and drinks than a complete meal. I’d love to come back to watch a game or a late night place to eat/drink. Didn’t realize until I got there that their menus are different for lunch and dinner. Will have to come back for their other menu. I’d recommend making reservations. When we came it was relatively empty but most tables were marked reserved (including ours). Now let’s get on to the food. Appetizers we got the tofu with kimchi and garlic. It’s a common appetizer and they did it well. If anything, it could use more of the fried/crunchy garlic I love the fried brussel sprouts. Somehow with how it’s prepared and served, they batter stays one consistently. Perfectly cooked. Wish the seasoning was done better since you get some bits with lots of flavor and some bites with just brussel/batter. Bone-in chicken is a must. A small show where they cut it in front of you when it arrives and if you get the garlic fried rice, they’ll pour the sauce from the chicken on it. It’s a nice touch. The chicken is juicy and flavorful. Garlic fried rice is forgettable in my mind. Needs more garlic flavor. The egg on the hot place over fries the egg so when you mix it all, it’s not very consistent. Also got the 3 combo chicken. This was kind of the disappoint for me. While juicy, I don’t think it’s as amazing as people say. Portion seems very small for $20. I think if anything, they should include 1 or 2 sauces for you to select from when buying the chicken. $1 for each sauce seems without letting you order at least 1 or two with your combo just seems like a money grab. Overall the service is great, staff are friendly and welcoming. I’ll give this place a try since I do enjoy the food and vibes but for now I’ll keep my review as is.

Good as always is amazing, totally comparable to what I usually have eaten in Japan. People are usually super friendly including the staff and really accommodating, tonight was a very different experience, I came in and politely asked if my order is ready, the waiter told me to wait outside. I questioned him and said if I can wait inside, he pulled up a chair, I requested for a menu, and ask him if there's a way he can figure out any food in the kitchen. That is egg free because I wanted to order more, for my son who is with me, who is severely allergic to egg. He said yes and proceeded to the kitchen and never got back to me. He started serving again other people. He never got back to me and told me that drivers should wait outside. I felt more offended, by the sarcastic smile he gave me. I'm OK to be mistaken as a driver for delivery service, but to be treated like dirt is not cool. I approached the desk and asked for his name and the man manning the desk said his name is Mazo, I told him the issue that he is rude, Mazo happen to approach the desk and they spoke in another language and started to giggle and laugh. (I am not dirty and wearing casual chic attire straight from a trip in the arctic circle for Christmas, for perspective )
