Very pleasant experience! It's very convenient to just use the touch screen to order your food and see what's to offer. The "happy hour" option is also very nice. Luckily I visited when that window barely started. Very straight forward and no complications. Food was nice. Curry was delicious, but I personally like it spicy. They do offer condiments that you can add to your food to spice it up though, so that's always nice. It let's you enjoy your food as you like it. So it's not much of a downside. Chicken katsu was very flavorful and tender. It just melts in your mouth. The panko was so crispy and added to the amazing texture. Only thing I recommend is bring your own drink from the next door market place, but that's not much of a drawback.

One of our favorite chains to visit when we're in Japan, but what I love about the Mitsuwa ones is that the garlic sauce is just in a bottle and I can put as much of it on my chicken as I want. And the chicken katsu has a thick, robust breading, so it can hold up to my palate-destroying slathering.

Stopped by to check out this new location since the move from Western. The ordering kiosk was very straightforward, no need for interaction with staff unless you want to or need help ordering. It would help if the ordering kiosk was more user friendly with pictures and more or a description. I tried to order a plate that I saw on the TV they have out front. What I was served didn't match what I saw but it was delicious anyway! I was completely ready for the consequences of not asking for help. The food was nice and hot when it was served. The portions were very good. The flavor of the stamina chicken were amazing. My order with a Coke came out to $25 and I had half of it left to take home. The Yakima so a was good too. I'll be trying this place again with some help from the staff next time.

Like os, it seems many people were confused about the new menu and self ordering system. Basically, they have streamlined everything and there is more meat and less vegetables than before. Tips: We used to love their lunch combo with fried chicken, rice, salad, and soup. It was perfect. To get the same, the new way is to order Chicken Bowl with salad and soup on the side. Don’t forget to ask for the garlic sauce, which is the best part!

A lot has changed since I last been here. I used to eat their food when they still had cashiers to take your order. My go to was always the sutadon bowl or the spicy fried rice. It's sad to realize that they no longer have spicy fried rice on the menu. The new look is very on point with the current times, but I just wish sometimes a person would take my order as the menu can be a bit confusing if you do not know what to eat/order. I now just stick to the sutadon bowl as it is a classic and never disappoints.

If you’re craving a no-frills, punchy Japanese rice bowl, Sutadon-ya hits the spot. Their pork bowls are saucy, savory, and unapologetically heavy — not fancy, but that’s exactly the point. Portions are generous (don’t show up on a full stomach), and the spicy version packs a nice kick without nuking your taste buds. The vibe is fast-casual; you order, you sit, you demolish the bowl. It’s the kind of comfort food you want after a long day, when you just need flavor and satisfaction in one shot. Nothing delicate, nothing “refined” — just good old Japanese power bowls. Worth the visit if you’re in the mood for something hearty and fast.

they are super slow. I waited for like 30mins. The screen is broken so you don’t know how long it’s gonna take, how many are in front of you. So I stand right in front of the counter to wait, and they never call your number when the food is ready.

This is a great place to get yummy hot bowls for lunch or dinner! The food is good and fresh. I really liked it - they have a variety of Katsu and chicken / meat bowls. It’s located in mitsuwa market at the del amo fashion center and because it’s part of the food court in the market, the food is made hot and fresh so it’s more expensive then the bento boxes from the fridge/area in the back of the market. Both the cold bento boxes and these hot bowls from the food court are really good but the fridged ones are a lot cheaper! Sutodonya bowls are also heavier - lots of sauce / curry over the meat if that’s what you ordered. If you’re eating here make sure you come hungry. They serve more rice bowls/plates items. I gave it three stars because it felt a bit pricier for what it was (although I liked it and it was good) if we’re discussing price and quality I thought the quality was okay for the price compared to the fridged bento boxes which were delicious and cheap.

The actual food looks nothing like what is shown on the menu. The portion of the meat to the rice is so off. For a rice bowl this price (almost $12), there are very few pieces of chicken in the bowl. The batter on the fried chicken fell apart after having stir-fried in the sauce with other vegetables. It became so mushy that it’s not even satisfying to consume anymore. Even if the taste itself isn’t that bad, I still would not recommend.

Why are you working without wearing gloves? Without measuring the weight of the noodles, without wearing gloves, he put them into a bowl with his hand, then touched his nose with the hand he had touched, then he put them in a plastic bag and threw them to the side. Then, another person cut green onions with his hand, also not wearing sanitary gloves, and touched a tray of food ordered by another customer, then went back and cut green onions again. It was so unpleasant and dirty that I cancelled my order. When I tried to report this to the Torrance Health Department, again, my grade was B. When I asked three employees why they weren't wearing sanitary gloves, they looked at me with unpleasant eyes instead. *The kitchen is so dirty, *the employees' clothes are dirty,* and they don't wear sanitary gloves while working. The household rating is City Hall Health Department's rating is B.

Food tastes pretty good consistently but service is terrible. Four staff members working in kitchen on a Sunday and sometimes blatantly talking to each other and not doing anything. And there are at least 10 people crowded around waiting for a while. There are plenty of other good food options in Mitsuwa that have good service. SKIP

Have some food safety and handling concerns with this place, not to mention the slow and lack of service. The food is pretty good, but the way they handle food is concerning. Located inside the Mitsuwa at Del Amo mall. Plenty of parking outside The food is pretty good, got the pork sutadon with egg. Good flavor, added more garlic sauce and Sriracha from their sauce "bar." Garlicky goodness. Concerns mainly basically as I'm waiting for my order, I see the guy who is collecting dirty dishes and supposed to be handling orders. While I see him washing orders with his soapy dirty gloves, a couple of orders are ready, one for dine in and one for pickup (mine). You'd think he'd take off his gloves or replace them, nope, he grabs the open top dine in bowl with one hand, dirty gloves and thumb over and in the bowl to place on the tray. Then goes to grab what will be my order, luckily it had a lid, bags it and sets it aside. Non-existent service. They rarely call when your is ready or you could barely hear them. I had to go up and ask if my order was ready, and the same guy goes and hands me my bag of food. Bag is wet, I open it up, chopsticks wet from how he had handled it with his dirty and wet gloves. Service is really slow, I'm sitting there watching and they only had one person cooking, one person prepping the plates, and one person doing dishes and handling the complete dishes. Took about 25 mins from placing order to having my order ready (one dish).

**Disappointing Experience at Sutadonya** I recently visited Sutadonya with high expectations, but I was deeply disappointed. The portions served were significantly smaller than what was advertised in the pictures. What looked like a hearty, fulfilling meal in the photos turned out to be a meager serving in reality. The discrepancy between the advertisement and the actual dish left me feeling cheated. Not only was the portion size inadequate, but it also failed to justify the price charged. Overall, I would not recommend Sutadonya if you're expecting a meal that matches the enticing pictures on their menu. There are many better options in the area that offer better value for money

Very disappointed. My order “for here” was packed in to go plastic containers and instead ordered pan fried gyozas I got deep fried with crazy amounts of oil in them. None of the workers were even pretending that they were wrong.

This place is so bad. Salty salty salty. Bowl look delicious but taste nasty. Couldnt even finish my food. I ordered the #2 and #11 Beef bowl and curry tonkatasu. This is not good Japanese food. Just horrible.

I got a big chicken katsu curry and watched them make my food. They cut it up and it seemed to be undercooked so they placed it back into the fryer. How they managed to overcook it while leaving the katsu raw in the middle is honestly mind boggling.

I ordered the chicken katsu curry plate. I tried one piece of the chicken katsu and immediately lost my appetite. Soggy, over fried , burnt and chewy chicken. Everytime i come here i give them another chance. They are out of chances. They are serving horrible food that is a shame to the location. If you are craving Katsu, please go to Katsu Bar on Crenshaw. The rice was fine. Curry was fine.

Knowing the challenges of business, I generally avoid writing negative reviews. But this place truly deserves it. I made the mistake of ordering the Big Chicken Katsu Curry. It costs $16.99 and I don't really care if the food is worth it. It's a marinated and deep-fried chicken thigh on rice. I'm not exaggerating; if you remove the marinade, you're left with a greasy chicken mixture the size of your thumb. Aren't you ashamed? How much does the rice cost and how much does that lousy marinated chicken cost? There was something called curry source, but I only tasted it once, so I can't say for sure, but what you called "curry source" was very thin pork slices, sliced like bacon, slightly shorter. There were also cabbage slices, which was fine, but I ordered chicken, and you get pork in the sauce. I only had plain rice, and I only tasted the chicken and sauce, and I poured it out, it was really annoying. I'm sure no decent, ethical person would open such a business, so this business absolutely needs constant, constant inspections. Do yourself and your children a favor and don't buy food from here.

I really wanted to eat Yakisoba. I gave Sutadonya 2nd chance. Both time, poor customer service. Some are just talking to each other when tall male was the only one cooking. Is he the only chef there? And he does not seem to be happy cooking either. Both time, a tall male employee cooked my Yakisoba. 1st time: he kept pouring water into Yakisoba Pan/Wok and came out super waterly, Yakisoba is not a hot noodle soup. not even tasting of good yakisoba sauce. I returned food, no refund is made. 2nd time was not waterly, but still not tasing good at all, very disappointing flavor. Wait time is incredibly long for food court. Are employees not happy working there? Poor customer service. No welcoming effect there. My daughter had curry and it is ok. not special.

I think their raw egg has salmonella. I came down with vomiting and diarrhea 6 hours after eating their beef and raw egg rice bowl
