L'Antico Pozzo Toscolano Maderno Reviews
Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was impeccable — truly outstanding in every detail!
Lovely food, lovely staff and lovely atmosphere. We ate here twice
So good we went back the next night. The atmosphere is lovely as are the hosts. (although at times they look a little like rabbits in headlights) The food and wine are lovely. We had the Lugano olivio wine and fillet steak the first night. The second night we tried the pasta and deserts. Everything was really tasty. A bit pricier than some other establishments in Moderno but definitely worth the money. Look out for the specials board outside and book in advance if you can. If driving you could park at the Conrad supermarket and come up via the alleyway
We had a lovely dinner in our vacation in Italy. Great service with amazing food. Would recommend to anyone passing through Toscolano Maderno.
Incredibly sweet owners and great food.
Just had an excellent evening meal at Osteria L'Antico Pozzo. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about their menu. They made the effort to speak to us in English (as our Italian is not up to much!). We had a large charcuterie board consisting of cheese, salami, parma ham & others with pickled veg, along with jam and honey. It was all really fresh and delicious. For mains we had spaghetti with sardines and also mushroom ravioli. Both dishes were excellent and full of fresh ingredients. Limoncello for dessert, but there were plenty of other options. By far the best meal we have had on our trip so far and in a lovely courtyard location. Much better than the lakefront restaurants. Definitely visit this place for a lovely meal.
Absolutely fantastic food. As starters we had the ravioli, which were excellent. As a main course we had fish which had been excellently prepared. A desert of strawberry cheesecake finished off a wonderfull evening. Service gets full marks. Thankyou for an enjoyable evening
Lovely place. Great food. Friendly staff. All in all a perfect dinner in a cosy atmosphere.
Best food in Italy so far.
Excellent food and setting. But no Pizza :-).
One of the kind pizza! You should try it
So nice and cozy. We really enjoyed this restaurant.
excellent cheeseboard, great ravioli, dessert was average, but nice atmosphere and good service
A hidden Gem. Very cosy place, great service and good food. Italian Flair and Solid food. Recommend.
We came with five people. We had an order of two lasagna. But only had one. The portion was small and overcooked. Fried Fish portion was small. And chicken portion was only meat . When I tried to order fries, the owner wasn’t so glad. We ordered the fries at 21:30 but seemed like the kitchen was already closed. While on the outside it showed open till 23:00. Smoking was allowed outside!!
We waited 30 minutes for our starters (prawn cocktail salad and mussels) and a further 45 minutes for our mains (spaghetti with chili and garlic, and tortellini with sage and butter). The chef brought them out personally and apologised for the wait. Sadly the pasta was very bland and the tortellini was one you’d buy at the supermarket. Front of house were completely oblivious, sadly. The couple beside us waited an hour for their fritto misto. When we told the owner we were disappointed with the wait and the food, he became argumentative and confrontational. There’s a nice ambience here but one chef for 50+ covers combined with the inexperienced wait staff don’t provide a great experience.
The location is lovely and quiet, the service was friendly enough and the food was served quickly. However for the price of the food I expected the portions to be bigger or at least include a side that is filling and not just a very small serving of salad.
