Journey's End Trinity County Reviews
Our dad started taking us here 20+ years ago, stopping at least once per annual camping trip to have a good meal out. This is our first trip back since he passed in 2019, and it was a very nostalgic and wonderful trip. I forgot to take pictures of the food, but we all ordered various burgers and sandwiches, and the bar fries, and everything was fantastic! They source local meat and produce, and you call tell the food is made by someone who cares. Both of the women who took care of us while we were there were wonderful. Can't wait to come back!
Stopped in for lunch , had some really great Turkey chili. Friendly staff, good service.

Kind people, great food and atmosphere. Plenty of room for families and those who just want to get some great food by themselves. I have never stayed in the rooms, so I can't comment.
Camping at nearby Ruth lake campground we enjoyed several meals there. It's a reatuarant/bar with patio dining available. Food was very good 1 LB rib eye was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also had while we were there they had live music " UNDER THE INLUENCE " band from eureka, ca rocked out. They played some dance tunes the wife and I cut up the wood deck dance floor , very slippery as we were there opening day "B" zone deer hunting season and WE GOT WET THAT MORNING anyway agreed little restaurant staff is friendly and It was nice to be able to help local business and workers hit by COVID and recent fires
The owner Trish makes you feel like family. She makes the staff her family, and her there's. If your expectations are not met in any way, (though I couldn't imagine that happening) she'll make sure you would leave Journeys Inn with a definite smile on your face !! Oh and don't forget night life at Journeys never disappoints !!
All in one hotel cause there’s anything around in miles. And for that reason is pretty good. The rooms are nice and clean and not too expensive. It’s close to the lake, but it missed the view to the lake. They have a little grocery store and a bar/restaurant with a pool table.
Treated like family, great food, beautiful seating area outside. Clean cabin, with a great deck. Couldn't be more happy than when I am out there!
I almost ran out of gas after getting lost in the mountains (thanks a lot google map!) and found this place at 4am with 2miles of gasoline left Happily froze my butt waiting for 9am At 9:10, I got worried the place was closed and had to knock on doors to get the owner to open He was very nice and helpful and had only 5 hallons left to sell me I would have paid 50 bucks a gallon at this stage! He insisted on giving me my 50 cents change back and even offered to print the receipt Real decent and honest person who didnt pounce on hapless tourists The area is beautiful too Just dont try crazy stuff at night with an almost empty tank, but if you do, pray that someone like this man will be there to give you a helping hand
Good food. Fair prices. Very friendly atmosphere. Amazing Prime Rib on Fridays.
Best place ever. Went for a funeral service and have family up there. Journeys End never disappoints. Saturday night was busy.
The food is awesome and the people are great and the drinks go down nice nice.
Amazing pizza and atmosphere. I’ll def be back👍
During the August Complex fire, Journey's End opened their doors to firefighters for their creature comforts. They had fuel for their trucks and a friendly face at all times!
Restaurant has the best food should try their pizza, nachos ,hot wings and onion rings
Friendly atmosphere. Great pizza! Pizza is only Wednesday and Sunday nights.
Good beer selection, burger was fantastic , as were the I believe homemade fries. The crew /staff was super helpful and friendly. Rooms were a pleasant surprise. Not super fancy but great. Hopefully I’ll make it back out there again sometime.
The food was amazing , and the location near the lake is great. I can't wait to come back. Highly recommend staying here if u get the chance!
Can’t wait to come back!! Right in the heart of gods country! There’s no keeping this place a secret!!! Everyone must see and enjoy this place!!! The new owners are Awesome! We will be back!! Thanks Rick!!!
This is a great little restaurant and store that do a great job of taking care of their customers with a limited staff. There may be a wait to get your food, but it has always been excellent. My request when folks are building a menu is to designate what is gluten free and what is vegan. (GF and V in bold to the right of the menu item would be amazing). I am a person sensitive to wheat, and the staff was accommodating with their answers. The ribeye was cooked wonderfully, I appreciate when a medium is cooked to a medium and not undercooked. The bar fries were very good with cheese, bacon and a ranch drizzle. Yum! The store is an excellent all-around emergency camping supplies with plenty of fishing gear for the anglers. Staff is always super friendly, even in their busiest times.
Excellent food in the restaurant. Nice waiters and very helpful. We eat there at least once or twice a week. Would recommend this place to anyone. The store is a great asset to the community of Ruth also.
Best little Mountain vacation getaway ever!! Winter or summer. They have motel rooms and a nice cabin to rent year round. There is a wonderful eatery/bar with delicious homemade foods from burgers to pizzas. With specials like chicken fried steak to braised ribs. Just a wonderful aray of food choices. Inside the general store there is everything anyone could possibly think of for camping to shopping to collectibles and local artworks to soft serve ice cream or emergency items. Just a wonderful place to visit.

It's what you get cause there isn't any other options. They have gas, which is a bonus. Beer selection is pretty poor if you like actual quality brew. It's expensive, but you're in the middle of nowhere so that's expected.
Friendly locally owned little place with reasonable prices and great food. The bar is a good place to get information from the local s on fishing and hunting.
Really good food, great service and a friendly/family setting. Great pizza!
Great atmosphere! Food is great and prices are very fare for location! The patio seating out back is awesome! Dogs are welcome too as long as they are leashed! We have eaten there 5 times over the past 6 weeks. My only issue with this place is that the service has been slow every time. We stopped ordering appetizers because of the long wait times for food. The waitstaff could be more friendly too. All in all great food!

Was coming over 36 and ran into a need for fuel. There was a sign on 36 suggesting fuel was only 9 miles away which led us to here. They only have octane 87 and was kinda expensive (5.39 USD) but it didn't make that much difference to a motorcycle fill up. The facility is next to Ruth Lake which has some great views. As always, if you found this review useful please remember to like it. If people like the review (whether you agree or not), it encourages me to write more ;)
Not the usual cheerful, warm , loving resteraunt/bar that I have grown accustomed to over the years. Trish, the warm, exuberant proprietor wasn't in tonight. The pizza we pre ordered ahead of time was done, right on time and delicious as usual. But when I try came time that the waitress brought us our drinks, she informed us that the pizza had been ordered "to go" and so because of that we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant. It wasn't ordered to go,. And even if it had mistakenly been, there were only 2 other tables and their meals had already come. They were just finishing up their meal. So the waitresses excuse of the other customers may see us being served before them and get angry didn't really fly with me.
