This little pub dive came highly recommended for having the best wings in town—and honestly, the crowd alone told us we were in the right place. The bar was packed, with not a single seat to spare, so we grabbed a drink, soaked up the atmosphere, and eventually made our exit. I mean… that’s usually the best sign the food is good and the company is even better. The building itself was old and full of character, the kind of place where the walls feel like they’ve been listening for decades. You could almost sense the stories shared, secrets kept, and laughter that’s echoed through the years. Maybe next time we’ll get lucky enough to snag a seat—and when we do, we’ll definitely be back for those wings.

One of my favourite bars in the capital region. Waitstaff is both personable and genuine with prompt service. The food is American bar food including wings and sandwiches as a few of their options. Dessert is homemade and tasty. All food options are very consistent making it a easy restaurant to return to. I highly recommend that if you’re looking for casual food and drink that you visit the Ale House.

Trying to figure out what's best about the Ale House. The wings. The corned beef or turkey Reubens. Burgers. Ribs when they have them. Actually just about anything they put out to eat is really good but don't miss the wings. Good beer selection. If there's live music it's loud but fun. Service was friendly but a bit spotty on a very busy Tuesday night. If you want upscale elegance, go elsewhere. If want REALLY good wings, beer, sandwiches and maybe music go here.

A fantastic dive we stumbled across. Mostly locals there which added to the experience. We had a Reuben and a Roast Beef Special sandwich. Both were tasty and large! The draft beer was great with plenty of options. The stand out was Joe, our bartender. He was welcoming and very helpful. Great guy!

First time going to the Ale House. A friend of mine works here from time to time and I've been meaning to try it out. I they are known for they're wings and great fish n chips. I have not had either - YET - I had a growler that needed filling and they for sure assisted me it's my growler. They don't have growlers there but you can bring your own in. The atmospheric is very intimate and that "homey" feeling. Certainly a place I can't wait to go back to, to try the food. I will review Ale House again when I eat the food!

I love Ales! Wow. Great wings, beers, and sandwiches. Love the vibes. This has to be my favorite place to have a cheat meal. So many options for food and drinks. Hats off to the chef. Service is great and quick. Food is always nice and hot. Best wings in America! Must try the tequila chipotle wings….unbeatable.

Ordered take away. Had the reuben and side of fries. Sammich came with chips and pickle. Fries must be fresh cut at the restaurant, really exceptional. Reuben was hot, well made and tasty. Ale House is definitely worth a try.

The Ale House is a regular spot for my friends and family. The food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Being an old fashioned Troy bar, the atmosphere is rough around the edges (in a good way) and that's exactly what gives it it's appeal. They also have the best wings in Troy - the award winners are amazing, but not for the faint of heart. In the end, I wouldn't change a thing. Enjoy it!

I've been a regular here for like 12 years and I will be for the rest of my life or until it closes. The food and service has always been good but it's gotten especially better since the pandemic, which is the opposite of almost everywhere else. Wings are among the best in NY state, definitely the best in the capital region. If you get lucky and there is carrot cake, hoard it like your life depends on it.

This is a local staple in Troy. Nothing fancy about it. Might be the best wings in the Capital District. Absolutely top three. They also have a phenomenal cheeseburger. The menus are not huge but what's on there is delicious both beer and food. If you've never been it's definitely a place you need to check out for a burger and wings.

Great service and atmosphere! We tried appetizers. I definitely recommend the wings, clams, and mushrooms. If you’re in the area, this is a must try.

This is a dive but man is it good. The wings were just the right amount of crispy and the sauce was exactly what you want from buffalo. I also ordered their Reuben to go so they wouldn't know I'm a pig. Also fantastic.

My favorite place for chicken wings, French fries with gravy, and a cold beer. Ordered the wings medium and sloppy and the flavor is phenomenal. Friendly staff and will always return.

May look like a hole in the wall, but this place is great. Staff is awesome, food always tastes great. The wings are delicious. Be careful of the award-winning sauce, it is VERY HOT. Not sure the scovilles but if I had to guess I'd say easily 500,000+. Becoming a regular here for lunch.

A local bar that's not very big but attached is a large dining room. This is a great place for a beer. They must clean the lines regularly as beer here tastes great, as the saying goes. The kitchen is awesome, the food that comes out of that room is terrific. If you'd like some awesome bar food/restaurant, this place is easily recommendable.

Used to come here for wings over a decade ago. Many times and always loved it. First time back in forever and tried the wings and cheddar burger. Fast service even though the bartender was the waiter and the food came out nice and hot. Burger was juicy, good and cooked as asked. The wings were as good as I remembered though the medium seemed hot to me. Excellent heat, the kind that has flavor so you enjoy it more. Worth the trip if you are thinking of a burger and wings for lunch or dinner.
