Maggiano's - Troy Troy Reviews
My family and I visited Maggiano’s Little Italy in Troy to celebrate my mom’s 50th birthday, and we absolutely loved everything about our experience. From the moment we sat down, our server Victoria was outstanding. She was incredibly attentive, super sweet, and very helpful throughout the entire meal. We had no issues at all — she truly made the night even more special and deserves all the praise. The food was phenomenal. We ordered a ribeye, fettuccine, spaghetti, chicken marsala, chicken parmesan, and another fettuccine with spinach and broccoli. Every single dish was delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavor. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. To top it off, they surprised us with a birthday lemon cookie platter with candles, which was such a thoughtful and sweet touch. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and perfect for a family celebration — great vibes all around. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience, and we loved it entirely. We will absolutely be back!
Nikita was a phenomenal server! She made sure we got our drinks shortly after sitting and had great recommendations. The chicken parm was so delicious. The bread did not disappoint! My boyfriend and I split the tiramisu and still had so much food leftover to take home. We will be back!!!!!
Enjoyed a night out in a group of 4. Friends ordered the baked ziti and rigatoni "D" and really enjoyed both. The salad was crisp and well dressed. The service was attentive and friendly, though they forgot a few components of our meal that we had to ask again for. Atmosphere was elegant and inviting. I would go here again for a nice date night out :)
An amazing experience! Ruthie was the sweetest and best server, she was so kind and attentive. The Grand Chicken Parm was so good, the wagyu meatballs so delicious, and the chicken Alfredo was so creamy. Don’t even get me started on the Tiramisu, so so good. A great dinner experience with the family!
We always have a great time at this restaurant! This year we celebrated our Anniversary with Maggianos! We received free desert and our waitress Diamond and all the staff were so nice and accommodating! This place is awesome ❤️
The food was delicious and the portions were surprisingly generous. Our server was also incredibly friendly and helpful.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday here and everything was absolutely extraordinary. The food was incredible. The service was exceptional, and our server, Bea, was stellar! We will definitely ask for her the next time we come in which will be very soon!! This is truly the best Italian restaurant around.
The best experience of all time! My waitress Julie was very kind, experienced, understanding and knowledgeable. Julie provided ideas 💡 for food ideas. She was so good 😊 that I want to work there. Every dish was amazing. I can’t wait to go back and try something else. I can’t say which is the best because everything was. Thank you 😊 🫶🏾
I’m thrilled to share that the restaurant has made a fantastic comeback! After a tough time during the pandemic, I decided to give it another shot and was blown away by how much better it is now. The food is even better than before, with a simpler menu that still has all the delicious dishes you love. And guess what? The chefs’ famous KB carbonara is back, and the dessert is absolutely scrumptious! Plus, the portions are huge, so you’ll be full and happy. Now, I know the prices are a bit higher, around $20 to $40 per dish, but trust me, it’s worth it for the amazing food and service.
The food was delicious. Our server Bri was very attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed. The food was outstanding and satisfied my pregnancy cravings! Our kids enjoyed everything as well
It was our first time eating at Maggiano’s and we had a wonderful experience! It was the perfect relaxing atmosphere for a date night. I ordered lasagna & my husband had Shrimp Alfredo. Both were perfect! The manager stopped by our table & had us try the toasted ravioli, yummm! Our Server was Nick, he was attentive & was very helpful with letting us know about the different dishes. We topped it off with the Butter cake for dessert. We will definitely be going back again!
Five out of five stars! Great atmosphere and genuine food. My friends and I came here for a celebration. This was the perfect restaurant. Would definitely recommend friends or family to go out on a dinner over here. All the waiters are extremely friendly.
Our server Ali was so kind, efficient, and welcoming. Didn’t get the name of the host tonight but she was incredible too.
One of the best Italian places I have experienced. The setting was perfect our sever was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us with our selection. The entrees were very flavorful and my salmon was juicy and full of just the right amount of seasonings and spices. Definitely would give this a 10 /10.
The service was absolutely exceptional, especially on a busy Saturday with a bunch of graduate parties (us being one). The food came out swiftly, freshly done, and absolutely delicious! I enjoyed every bite. So much so, that I didn't get a picture of the dessert spread, just know, if you're thinking about it, GET IT! They have sufficient parking, a clean and relaxed atmosphere and great drinks as well! I highly recommend eating here, I will surely be back!
Diamond was amazing and the food will feed us for days 😆 we had the family style and it was great!!
We had our Christmas party here. The ladies that were helping us were Amazing! I believe their names were Diamond and Amaya. They were fun, friendly nice and helped us with anything we needed. There were a few other people that were helping us as well and they were also great. I didn’t catch their names. The food was amazing. Everyone at our Christmas party enjoyed the food!
Our family went there to celebrate our 18yr old niece birthday 12 of us. Everything went perfectly well. The food, was so plentiful and Delicious. We ordered the $44 family meal ea. I thought the food wasn't going to ever stop coming. The dessert was also delicious. No fuss about left over take out or anything. We don't want to forget about a young man called Moe, he constantly kept our tables clean and fresh for each course with so much politeness. For more first timers, they were well impressed.
We rented the small banquet room for a family dinner gathering of about 20 adults and 4 small kids and it was great! The communication with the banquet staff was extremely good. I reached out to them about a month or two before the event and the entire process was simply smooth and the day of event was executed to perfection. The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and attentive and space was just about perfect for our group. Especially with the four small kids ages 0-4, it was great to have a private room where they could move around and be active! It's a great value too considering no one has to shop, cook, clean, decorate, do dishes.... we simply had a nice evening to catch up and enjoy.
Maggiano's is a MUST try! We did the family style and it was amazing. They even had several options for gluten-free dinners. Our waitress and the kitchen was incredible w not having cross contamination. So yummy! You have to try the chocolate cake (not gluten-free).
I love Maggiano's! Every time I go I know that what I eat will be delicious. Ruthie is an amazing server. They are lucky to have her. I wasn't in love with my salmon at first, but after talking with management, I was served a perfect filet. The normal salmon- no cream, no butter, just grill marks and seasoning- is delectable. Thank you for helping us feel fancy for new years!
I hosted my husband's birthday party for 75 people at Maggiano's in Troy. Everything was outstanding. The food was excellent and we received many compliments on how good it was. We had a full bar and at the beginning when guests were arriving they staffed it with two great bartenders - impressive. The staff was wonderful - efficient, friendly, just the best (led by Joe) along with Chaney & Ianth (my spelling is a little off I think). I wish I could give them 10 stars! Highly recommend.
Our server, Vinny, was very attentive without being overbearing. The manager approached our table in the bar area to make sure we were satisfied with our meal, and we were! Our cocktails were GREAT, and our appetizers were cooked perfectly (mozzarella, calamari). The bread is incredible, and the service leaves you feeling like they actually care about your dining experience. We will for sure be coming back, highly recommend!
A group of 7 went on Sunday evening at 5:30. We had reservations and we're seated right away. The restaurant was packed and the service was still excellent! The meal portions were large and I the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. We had 6 different dishes from Rigatoni -D, Steak, Steak tips, chicken Parmesan, Shrimp linguine and chicken Marcella. Everyone loved their meals, not one complaint. The average price was under $50/person but we did not have drinks. We will definitely be back. Oh yeah and the side salads were excellent as well.
This was our first time at this establishment and won’t be our last. Our server, Diamond, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of to the fullest extent possible. The food was excellent and the craft cocktails superb. Kudos to the manager who came out to talk to us. Well worth the time and money if you want a nice dinner out.
This place is so perfect for an intimate small wedding. They have many inclusive rooms for that purposes enough for 30-40 guests. We deliver a wedding arch and this place is full it was for Saturday night event. This place is also accessibility ♿ friendly.
We had a group of 10 (plus a baby) for a joint birthday celebration for my parents. The family style option worked perfectly as it offered a variety of dishes for us to share. And we had a ton of leftovers to bring home! Only 4 stars for atmosphere as we were seated in the most crowded section. I'm not sure if the less empty section was not being used, but it would have been nice to have been seated in a less crowded section, since we were a large group and we were a bit loud. But overall we had a wonderful experience. We also wanted to send a shout out to the servers and staff who gave us excellent service. Most of all to our server Matt who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Thanks Matt!
We couldn’t be more Thankful for our Exceptionally Attentive, Friendly, Courteous Waitress Monik! She made our Thanksgiving Holiday dinner all the more Special! The Food was Remarkably Delicious!! Hot, Prepared to Perfection, and Beautifully Presented. The Family Style was Outstanding, and Portions Immensely Gigantic! We can’t wait to return in the near future. Thank you once Again for Everything!
Maggiano’s Little Italy delivers a solid overall experience, especially if you’re looking for a classic Italian ambiance. • Food : The food was good and well prepared—comforting Italian flavors and satisfying portions, though nothing particularly stood out as exceptional this time. • Service : Service was average. Staff were polite, but a bit slow and not very attentive during the meal. • Atmosphere : The highlight of the visit. Warm, elegant, and inviting—perfect for family dinners or special occasions. Overall, a pleasant dining experience with a great atmosphere. With slightly more attentive service, it could easily be a five-star visit.
I recently went to Little Italy for lunch with colleagues and overall had a very nice experience. The food was great and everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals. The bread served as a starter was especially delicious – such a nice touch and a perfect way to begin the meal. The only downside was the service, which was a bit slow, especially considering it was during lunchtime. It took quite a while for our food to arrive. With a little more attention to timing and service speed, this would easily be a five-star experience. We would definitely come back and are looking forward to visiting again.
TLDR- Don't bring a child who needs a diaper change to done at this location. Yes, they have a diaper changing table inside of the handicap stall in women's restroom, but it's terribly awkward/dangerous. Our waitress Pat was great! The food came timely and tasted fresh. I enjoyed the friendly staff and the food. My review is for the designers (and whomever approved this) of the bathroom. As someone who needs to change the diapers of two little children, I urge you to reconsider the position of your baby changing table. I am 5'8" tall, and the top of the table was in line with my belly button, and right above an open toilet bowl! I can't return here with my family while we have someone needing a diaper change in the future. In fact, you ought to consider being more ADA accessible and look into a larger changing table that could accommodate special needs adults (someone in our party would come more often with such a table, as they wouldn't need to organize a babysitter). That would be thoughtful and inclusive!
Service was friendly and good. Portion sizes were good. Very flavorful dishes. Shrimp and pasta were good. Zucchini fries from appetizers are a must try Garlic infused mashed potatoes were tasty Tiramisu was good Restrooms were very clean
Great service, friendly staff. It was our first time there and they brought out a special appetizer for us free. Excellent portion sizes, the specialty drinks were very good . It was fairly noisy making it difficult to hear the waiter. Definitely worth a try. I highly recommend the Bombalina for an appetizer, it has 4 of the chefs picks/favorites. The dessert trio is an excellent choice for two to share.
The service was excellent. The space is so big to accommodate large groups. Menu had good number of items. The complimentary bread was warm and soft but had very hard crust which made it difficult to eat. We ordered different appetizers and entrees which were presented well with reasonable portions. However, the overall taste of all the items were just okay but not great.
The quality of the food is good, which is to be expected given the high prices. We sat at a round table with rounded edges, which was quite annoying because the plates either tipped over or were just a little too far away....
We ordered a family style (4 persons, 2 kids 2 adults). It was a great deal. Foods are great and big portion. Environment is good, clean and comfortable. Only problem is the food come too slow. We wait too long for each course. Probably they don’t have enough chef in kitchen 🤔
UPDATE 11/23 Still great svc and excellent!!! We made a reservation which I'm sure is needed. We arrived 30 minutes early and were seated before our reservation so that was nice. The server was fantastic and the food was rich and delicious! We enjoyed Italian favorites and were not disappointed. One thing off was our table. It had a slant and we were continually moving things around foe fear something would spill. We dealt with it though and didn't inform the waiter. There were a lot of families, groups and solos enjoying a meal. Some were dressed up amd some were in tshirt and shorts.
Service was great. Our server was very nice and attentive. Meal was paced perfectly. My only criticisms are is that freshly grated Parmesan for entrees, and fresh cracked pepper offered for salad, no soup offered is insane and turn up the lights just tad. For a noon reservation the atmosphere felt sleepy. I would go back.
Went back to try the return of the meat sauce. Hard to believe they tried to replace this with an awful bolognese sauce, which is still on the menu. I’m really not sure why. New meat sauce was just OK. It was not as good as the prior recipe. We understand they’re bringing the baked ziti back again, so we’ll have to try it again and see how things go. I don’t know why they needed to change in the first place. Bread basket is some better too!
My server had great customer service and recommended a delicious appetizer(zucchini). My eggplant parmesan was delicious as well! I would definitely recommend going to this restaurant! Only downfall was that their pasta is not made in the restaurant from scratch. Thats ok though, if was able to replace the pasta with a different side.
I visited Maggiano’s for the first time yesterday, and I’m not sure what I was expecting, but the interior was much fancier than anticipated. Not a complaint—just an observation! My waitress, Tanisha, was phenomenal. She checked on me every time she passed my table, and I loved the attentive service. They start you off with bread and oil, but honestly, they could’ve skipped it. The bread was rock-hard, and the oil had zero flavor. For my meal, I ordered the Maggiano’s side salad and the Rigatoni "D" for my entrée. The salad was a bit of a letdown—it was mostly lettuce with very few toppings, but the dressing saved it and provided most of the flavor. I was surprised they included blue cheese crumbles but don’t offer blue cheese dressing. Very odd. I tried the house dressing and a side of Italian, and while the house dressing was good, their Italian dressing was the real star—absolutely delicious! The Rigatoni "D" arrived piping hot, which I appreciated because lukewarm food is the worst. However, it completely lacked flavor. I had to ask for salt, and even the grated Parmesan I added didn’t do much to help. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, mostly because of the ambiance and excellent service, but I don’t see myself returning.
I did not have a good experience. Out of respect for others including my friends who seem to love this place I wouldn’t go into details but please make sure to look when you eat. Good Atmosphere and nice service doesn’t correlate with the quality of food.
Not the place I remember at all. Note: The plates were hotter than the food. Food: crab cakes, maggiano salad, branzino imperial and grilled, shrimp scampi, ribeye bone-in, & meatballs. Crab cakes - never received them so idk Salad - the lettuce was drenched in salad dressing I couldn’t cut the salad. There were a ton of onions, huge chunks of blue cheese some sprinkles of bacon and a slither of avocado. Very disappointing. The fish was dry for both dishes. You get one tiny filet that’s burnt and dry as paper. The skin was soggy wet. The scampi was tasteless and the noodles were very bland. The steak lacked seasoning. The meatballs were the star at the table. Asked for bread twice. Never received it even though they were supposedly baking it fresh. If you enjoy the food here I’m prone to believe you don’t cook and you’re ok with paying top dollar for food that’s just, eh. The love that was once evident in the food, no longer exists. Our server was pleasant. Sadly her partner dropped the ball.
The portions were very large, but unfortunately the quality didn’t match. The calamari and pasta were cold and seemed reheated rather than freshly made. The service was polite, though there was a noticeable cigarette smell, which was distracting. There was also no music, making the atmosphere feel a bit uncomfortable. Overall, I was hoping for fresher food and a better dining experience.
This restaurant was once our go-to place. We got married here and celebrated many family milestones, which made this visit especially disappointing. From the moment we sat down, ( after wrestling with the giant tablecloth) it was clear things have changed … and not for the better. The fresh bread and olive oil we used to love have been replaced with undercooked, sweet Texas Roadhouse-style rolls, which feel completely out of place in an Italian restaurant. The salads looked larger than normal, but they were mostly, less than fresh, bagged lettuce, some clumped up onions , the bacon in mine was overcooked and inedible& my husband’s salad had some super spicy peppery flavor in it & had only 2 soggy croutons. The food that once made this place special is now unrecognizable ( they even changed the dishes). The lasagna (no longer “Mom’s”) was bland and forgettable-so much so that my husband didn’t finish it, which has NEVER happened here before. The Rigatoni D arrived barely warm with watery sauce, minimal toppings , and what tasted and looked like pre-cooked fatty frozen Tyson chicken strips… no more rotisserie chicken 😢Even the Parmesan cheese has changed, down to an awkward loud metal container , available upon request ( they used to bring it with the oil and bread). Our daughter’s spaghetti tasted like tomato paste was definitely the main ingredient . The only consistent dish seemed to be the kids’ mac and cheese, that appeared to look and taste the same as usual. Dessert didn’t redeem the meal either-the Gigi’s butter cake came with barely any strawberries or whipped cream. Even though I know this is a chain, it never felt like one before. Now it does. We’re not sure if this is due to corporate cuts or new management, but what was once one of our favorite places is sadly gone. The only positive worth mentioning was our server, Julie, who was kind and great with our kids. As former very loyal customers, this experience was genuinely sad.
My fiancé and I came in September it was delicious and great service, this time we come for our family’s birthday, the host with glasses and brown hair rolled her eyes at me when I said my mom had arrived. I understand it was a big party (8) , but we got in in our seats 6:25 and left 9:30.. we were served water like one time, and slow slow service! We had stale croutons in the Caesar salad and sub par food, we miss the bread and oil, the best thing was the quick bus boys, and seeing as the food is so expensive and the tip as well , it’s not right all of that goes to the server who we barley seen! Also no one said happy birthday and I marked the reservation as such, I truly hope the busboys are tipped out and management gets more professional!!!
Sorry Maggiano's Little Italy, you missed the mark when it comes to hot food to the table. Our meals were COLD by the time they reached our table. The runners and the waiters need to closely pay attention, as soon as that food hits the "GO" shelf/counter. When I say cold I mean cold. Our meals were no where near hot...yup, we didn't send them back because we already waited a while for our meals to be served hot the first time around & who wants REheated meals at that point & at such an establishment? Your atmosphere is wonderful; wait staff, very congenial; but the working hard TOGETHER to get that hot meal to the table, PRONTO needs a RESET. Might as well mention that the bread and salads were not very Italian...sweet dinner rolls (TX roadhouse style) served are NOT Italian at an Italian establishment and the salads, should be tossed and coated with authentic Italian dressings, in a separate bowl, before serving with less spring mix, no sugar and more of the ingredients listed in the descriptions of each type of salad. Italian=garlic, salt & pepper, real olive oil, red wine vinegar, grated onion, fresh basil, oregano, grated Grana Padano, Pecorino Romano, Parmesan Reggiano just to name a few Italian things~the list is long! Ciao Bella. :/
So I was excited to try this place as my wife and son talked it up that it was the best. I was disappointed. I ordered the "The Finest Fettuccine Alfredo with Parmesan-Crusted Chicken" I don't live far so it was still hot when I got home. It was very very blan. The sauce tasted like homemade diluted with the jars you can buy at the grocery store. I also think they couldn't find a thinner and smaller piece of chicken. At least for $26.50 before taxes and fees.
The Four Cheese Ravioli I ordered was a complete letdown. It was flavorless and drenched in an excessive amount of Alfredo sauce, making it difficult to eat. The sauce was watery and lacked the rich, creamy flavor it once had. This place used to be a culinary gem, but it has clearly lost its way.
Geesh...what happened to this place? I don't think you can get a descent meal for less than $40 and if you want wine or desert...two salads, entree and wine was EIGHTY DOLLARS!!!??? Read other responses to reviews "we'll try to do better". THIS is BETTER???
