Oh Corn! Arepas Troy Reviews
This is a very nice restaurant. The food and service were top notch. We sat on the second floor which had really nice views too. Please note: This is in a historic building so handicapped available seating is limited to a couple of downstairs tables. I would enjoy coming back for another meal here.
My brother and I enjoyed a delicious dinner here before seeing a concert in Troy. The location was perfect as located on the walk from the Courtyard Hotel to the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall. The back windows and patio face the riverfront so I want to return in the warmer weather to really enjoy the view as it was freezing this visit. The staff was warm and welcoming and I had a great conversation with the owner. For starters, we enjoyed the Yuka Frita with their four housemade sauces. The flavors were great and it was nice trying a new root vegetable. For the main course, we both selected the Pabellon Criollo which was equally as tasty. A simple dish with meat, white rice and beans with fried egg. I didn't need to use any sauces as the flavors were satisfying alone. There are so many things that I want to try when I come back. I was visiting from CT, but since there is good hiking and other activities in the area, I plan to be back. This is a great choice to try latin food prepared and served by nice people.
Excellent service 100% Fruit juice loved it! The cachapa is almost perfect, missing only our soft cheese but I know how hard is to come by that. 5 star Yuca frita Tasty sauces
Really great food. The offer a variety of options. We each tried something different and they were all equally good . They have a nice inside set up that's very welcoming and I enjoyed the night. Definitely make time to stop by!
Amazing food, I love their Queen Cachapas so much!! I’ve been visiting this restaurant for over a year and it never disappoints me, their terrace in the back has a Beautiful view of the Hudson River, I wish everybody from different cultures would give the a chance to try their Venezuelan Food, if you’re thinking about don’t hesitate.
Had a light lunch with the 'Sopa de Pollo' (chicken soup) and a side of Black Beans. The meal came with four sauces. Tried them on the black beans and they all nicely enhanced the dish. The soup was a little salty for my taste but most people would like it as is. The service was good. Fortunately, the Venezuelan (I assume based on the stated "Authentic Venezuelan Food" on the menu.) waitress understood and could speak English (I know some French and Italian but no Spanish). Atmosphere was delightful with both indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor had a Hispanic theme and display. Outdoor was roomy with tables and most having umbrellas.
What a great experience at Oh Corn in Troy! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was fantastic. The food was a major highlight; every dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. The live music by Adam Gerstenbeeger (@gbergerlife) was the cherry on top. Their performance was so good and really added to the fun energy of the place. If you're looking for great food and a lively atmosphere with awesome music, you have to check this place out.
Visiting Troy this week and had a fabulous dinner here with friends, sitting outside and enjoying the atmosphere and music. The food was excellent and the 3 vegetarians (and one meat-eater) in our group were very happy with the menu options. Freshly prepared, delicious and the service was perfect. Will definitely come back when in town again.
I have lived in Troy since 2012 and this is one of the best meals I have ever had. This was our first time ever trying Venezuelan food, so I went with the traditional Pabellon Criollo and my girlfriend tried the Costillas de Cerdo. The apps, drinks, all food, and dessert were phenomenal. We loved the dining space and hospitality. We must try the Arepas next!! Cannot wait to return to try more!
Fantastically good arepas and cachapas and plantains and soup! Spacious upstairs with view of the Hudson. Super friendly staff and relaxed vibe. Really reasonably priced, good-sized portions, and four delicious sauces that come with every dish! Also- Oh Corn! catered a dinner for a work retreat I had a few weeks ago and it was a huge hit! And met all the dietary restrictions of everyone on my team no problem. Highly recommend for drop-in meal or for catering!
I was in town for just a few days but when I was looking for places to grab some dinner this place caught my eye. I’m glad I made the decision to visit. All of the restaurants I visited while I was in town were great, but the food here was able to satisfy a craving that none of the other stops could satisfy. With so many great restaurants in the area I would suggest adding this one to the list of you are in the area. The staff was great at suggesting their menu options, the sauces were spot on, and the tres leches was so sweet and moist.
Hidden gem! This place is an ideal spot for a date if you are into trying amazing Venezuelan food! The food here is delicious and I’m in love with all the sauces they have! Their beef empanadas are must haves! Staff is great and helps you navigate the menu if you need it. Service was quick and easy on the pocket!
We just finished our family brunch and got back to the hotel. With not much to do outside in winter, I thought I’d write a review for the Venezuelan food we just ate. We LOVE the food, my 9-yr daughter who has already developed appetite and criteria for food, commented she could eat there all day long! Everything from the appetizer, to drink, coffee and dessert is delicious! And I wanted to add, all the custom-made sauces are fresh and tasty! The owner was very attentive. Not many customers around at that time, we were able to have a conversation about the food and the place. He showed us the ingredient in its original form and told us how the specific foods are prepared in different ways. My 9-yr old enjoyed it so much. Also, the art pieces created by the family member are so authentic and interesting, adding so much flare to the place. Thanks for giving us a wonderful food and culture experience on our trip! We’ll be back for more!
Ordered takeout from here for my family. The food and sauces were very good! My favorites were the empanadas and the cilantro sauce. But it was very expensive for small portions. I ordered the 6 mini arepas for $18 (pictured). It felt like very little food for $18. This was my family’s first time eating here, and we had to go out and get Chipotle after because we didn’t realize how small the portions were. We were still so hungry!
Food was gross and rice was mushy and plantain were raw and waitress could not speak English It was $93 for lunch for me my daughter most expensive place in Troy with the smallest portions i ever seen. Rice was so mushy can plaster the wall with it. Never again Worst ever had in my life for spanish cuisine and most expensive. Child size portions for 18 a plate
