Came during dinner time so a short wait on account of more people. The salad bar was amazing and they were constantly cleaning around the containers. Employees were all super friendly and smiling. I noted them taking temperatures of the food. A lot to choose from..many soups, salads, baked potato bar, sweet potatoes, pasta, ice cream station, muffins and more. Price for Saturday and Sunday all day is $13.75. Reasonable for all that you get!

Grew up in San Diego with Souplantation and had to take a trip here to relive those memories! Sweet Tomatoes did not disappoint. I enjoyed the variety of food (all the different salads, soups, and desserts) options and efficiency of the staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

A truly delectable blast from the past! ❤️🤤 There were dishes my family and I had totally forgotten about, so when I saw dishes like the tuna tarragon salad and chicken noodle soup I was totally floored! 😲 They really did bring everything back! Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted just as we remembered. Totally worth the 100mi drive down from Phoenix. 😂 We can't wait for the next occasion to come back. Keep up the great work, 🍅-team!!

Yes, yes, and YES!!! We missed Sweet Tomatoes so much after they closed down during COVID. This place is awesome - exactly like what we remember, and I mean EXACTLY! Same salad buffet, same beverage stations, same soup, pasta, and dessert bar, and best of all, the same original recipes! I understand that a small group of private investors decided to bring back the concept in a few locations (I read that Ft Myers’s FL will be lucky enough to get one this year). To the owners; PLEASE come back to Texas! (preferably The Woodlands). I promise you’ll be crowded all the time! People frequently talk about how much the miss Sweet Tomatoes on local FB groups. For now, if you happen to be anywhere near Tucson, a visit to this Sweet Tomatoes revival is a must!!!

I’m so happy Sweet Tomatoes is back! We finally had the opportunity to stop by again and had the greatest experience! The salad bar was fresh and well stocked. There was a lot of different options to build your own. I am vegan so I really appreciate everything clearly labeled. I enjoyed the vegetable soup, potatoes, and sourdough bread. We left completely full and we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Tucson.

OMG! The return of Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes would be widely appreciated, particularly the consistent quality of their offerings and the value provided when they offered coupons. This place holds a nostalgic fondness for the dining experience they offered me. The concept of a fresh, diverse salad buffet was a unique experience, a one of a kind. Please reopen especially in California.

This isn't just a restaurant: it's a cultural institution. Built upon the dreams of our founding fathers, this culinary monument is the essence of American patriotism. As we celebrate our nation's 250th birthday and Americans are more divided than ever, this is a space that brings people together. Not left or right: Sweet Tomatoes. We began our journey being greeted by a hostess who kindly informed us that the wait would be a few minutes, which was around 4:45 P.M, so plan your trip accordingly. Something immediately caught my attention once entering the building: $13.75 per person all day. $13.75?! In this economy? It is clear that the philanthropists who preserved this institution are not in it for profit nor greed, but to serve the American people. After obligingly paying Uncle Sam, it came out to around $14.95. Grabbing the classic olive green and burnt orange plastic trays were a blast from the past. I opted for the burnt orange. You can fit up to two plates in preparation for what's next. The salad bar was well stocked, fresh, and offered a great variety. Even my autistic cousin could find some noodles, kidney beans, and shredded cheese that he enjoys. O.G's, it's just like everything you remembered and much more. I opted for some iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, bell pepper, black olive, kidney beans, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, and topped it off with some delightful avocado ranch dressing. On plate #2, I helped myself to some zesty tortellini salad and heaps of shredded cheddar cheese. I'll circle back to this later. Our party of 5 was seated by the maitre d in the classic communal dining space. Adorned all around us were nostalgic reminders of what once was. Faux tomatoes, tables featuring ST slogans, and they even had some St. Patty's decorations. I could barely contain myself from excitement before I rushed to the hot bar. I have anosmia, but I bet the smell is to die for. Before me were 7 hot soups, sweet and baked potatoes and accompanying garnishments, fresh baked goods, and 3 pastas. I double fisted two colorful classic plastic bowls and this is when everything became a blur. In moments of intermittent lucidity amidst my euphoric trance, a few things stood out to me. First, the chicken noodle soup retains the classic rectangular noodle shape, paired with fall apart chicken that tastes just like how it used to, albeit a bit saltier. Second, the Irish potato leek soup was both creamy and hearty, with a nice variety in texture. Salt was generally a notch too high for my tastes across all 7 soups, but flavor was otherwise excellent across the board. Third, the macaroni and cheese. Velvety, gooey, divine. The macaroni noodle was cooked ben cotta, perfect for all ages. The chef was off to the side constantly preparing new batches, so you know it's as fresh as it gets. Pro tip: remember the shredded cheddar cheese from the salad bar? Here's when it comes into play. Combine these two together and baby, you've got a meal. (Editor note: There is cheddar cheese next to the baked potatoes as well) I could divulge more about every item in the hot bar, as I've had at least a sample of everything there. I don't want to spoil the whole experience for you so please, do yourself a favor and make your way over to Tucson. At this point in the review I would like to touch on service. Our party was bussed by our lovely server, Karen. She was attentive, efficient, and always treated us with a smile and friendly conversation. Between every round of me getting up to grab more food, Karen quickly cleared our towers of empty bowls and plates. I hardly noticed her silent efficiency until I really started paying attention. Sweet Tomatoes please give her a raise. Finally, my stomach could stretch no more. I decided it was time to pay a visit to the desert section. I helped myself to a blueberry muffin, yogurt and pudding. Unfortunately, there were no longer any waiters walking between tables with baskets of fresh hot muffins like the good ol' days. God bless Sweet Tomatoes. I'll be ripe back and I'll see you next thyme.

While visiting family in Tucson, my husband and I stopped in for lunch and it was such a special treat. After a warm welcome, we proceeded to choose from the plentiful offerings of the salad bar and then to my favorite soup area and they tasted exactly as I remember. We used to eat at the Sweet Tomatoes where we live almost every weekend for many years before it closed and having lunch here was like stepping back in time for a moment. It was so great and much appreciated.

Ah Sweet Tomatoes, how I missed you. Me and some friends loaded up the car to drive to Tuscon from Phoenix and it was totally worth it! It hasn't changed a bit. Nice people, clean big restaurant. Love making a big ol' salad and chowing down. Grab some soup, bread, pasta and mousse for dessert. Really hoping they bring it back to Phoenix!!!

Literally just as I remember it and then some! Amazing service from the crew all around. The sugar free chocolate mousse and Clam Chowder were to DIE for. So good. I drove 2 hours here ate and drove the 2hours back. 100% worth it.

Missing Soup Plantation from San Diego (Sweet Tomatoes parent company) this brings back good memories. Good, freshly prepared food and a good atmosphere to eat in. I wish these would reopen in SD. Was driving through Tucson and had to stop by to compare to see if anything was different. Nope, just as I remember, in a good way. Place was packed for a Sunday, but not annoying or overly loud like some places get. Food was on point and I was pleasantly stuffed upon leaving.

Could never go to a Sweet Tomatoes after they closed in Phoenix. Glad to come about a hundred miles to Tuscon and had the change to come. It's a bit of time to go through the beginning salad bar. And there aren't many beverages and the ice cream taste a bit weird but all the other foods are great Pizza and Penne pasta 😋. Jk they're a bit basic and all the soups are very delicious

We were visiting Tucson from Peoria, AZ. I only thing we had in mind for food was sweet tomatoes. It's my family's favorite restaurant. The variety of salads is awesome. My daughters love having mac and cheese, pizza, garlic bread, and ice cream. It was an awesome experience and the memories came back. I wish they opened in Peoria. The old location was such a good location and people would love to go there.

freakin awesome that it’s back. the whole family loves this place. our busser, Melanie, repeatedly checked in to make sure we were taken care of. $13 for all you can eat is a very reasonable price.

Such a great place to have various soup, ice cream, brownie, pizza, banana pudding, pasta, hibiscus tea, and salad. The brownie is great! My favorite is the chicken noodle soup! Pizza is more like bread. Environment is very clean, there are a lot of seats! All staffs are extra friendly. The vibe js great too! I used to eat the branch at California before, so glad to see it thriving here! P.s. it is all-you-can-eat, so feel free to queue for the salad or anything again and again.

Sweet tomatoes has always been a staple and since the reopening I’ve had nothing but great experiences. The food is great and the service is amazing! Melinda has been taking care of us every time since coming back, and I couldn’t imagine a better server! She is so sweet and definitely brings the vibes. Will absolutely be coming back!

In the morning, my family and I found out there was a Sweet Tomatoes in Tucson. We drove there that day from Buckeye (a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive). And oh, did we LOVE it!! Great, friendly staff and beautiful, super clean restaurant.

Me and my brother are from Colorado and we would eat at Sweet Tomatoes pretty regularly when they were still open here in 2020. We were always saddened when they all closed and always held out hope they would reopen one day. And then we found out they opened one in Tucson Arizona. What does that mean? That means my brother, his girlfriend, and I purchased plane tickets to fly down to Phoenix, drive two hours to Tucson, rent an AirBNB for 5 days that was 5 minutes away from the Tucson location, and proceed to eat at the beloved Sweet Tomatoes every day of our vacation. The food here isn't blow your mind amazing, but it is a special place that has good food and friendly staff and best of all, it is a buffet!! The salad bar is awesome with so much variety to choose from if you choose to make your own salad. If you would prefer a premade salad, their premade salads are also super good! They have plenty of soups that are all delicious, yummy muffins, cornbread, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, pizza, pasta, baked potatoes, ice cream, pudding, fruit, and more. This buffet could be considered "healthy", but that all depends on your self control. If you're me and my brother, there is no health benefits to Sweet Tomatoes. Just a massive salad, and too much savory and sweet food for my stomach to handle. But it's worth it. 🫄 This place will always hold a place in my heart for me and my brother. If the owner reads this, thanks for opening a Sweet Tomatoes once again for me, my brother, and the other hundreds of sweet tomatoes enjoyers that I saw while I went! PS. If you do read this, please open a Sweet Tomatoes in Colorado! I speak for many Coloradoans who would love a Sweet Tomatoes back in Colorado!

I love this place. I am sad it closed down everywhere except this location. I live in LV and want to take a long drive just to eat here. It was my family tradition at least once a week and I loved getting it to go. I wish they would open more locations again. It missed!

We came all the way from Phoenix to enjoy a classic and all time favorite spot. It was just as delicious 😋🤤 as I remembered and worth the 2+ hour drive. Thank you to whom ever owns this place 🙏 we'll definitely be back.

Although we drove all the way to Tucson for salad it was well worth the trip!!! The veggies were fresh and crisp, prepared the proper way!!! Not all gianormous pieces where it doesn't fit in your mouth!!! The soup hot ,fresh and tasty!!! The corn bread was yummy, hot and mouth watering!!! There was so much more choices of food I simply can't name everything!!! Plus the ice cream and all the toppings too!!! Wow!!! But you don't have to take my word for it. Come and try for yourself and you be the judge!!!

Sweet Tomatoes is one of my favorite places. So glad they're back. The parking fills up very fast and you'll probably end up parking along the side of a row of buildings and walking a short distance to the restaurant. There are usually a few people sitting in this area. I've never been harassed or asked for money, but just be alert and watchful. Once inside, go left. It moves faster. You'll hit the salad side first and pay. Then find a place to sit and hit the hot food. It's probably going to be very busy, very loud. The food is very tasty and it's a fun experience.

We are so happy sweet tomatoes came back to Tucson, even happier that some of their original staff is back. Melinda has been an amazing staff member always going above and beyond for Sweet Tomatoes clients. She greets everyone with a warm smile and makes sure that service during your visit is a 10/10. If you visit the location, make sure to sit in Melinda’s section and treat her to a great tip to compliment her great service during your meal.

Finally got to go in Tuscon, haven’t had it since their closure in 2020. I grew up going to the awahtukee and Tempe locations. The food is just as good as I had remembered and the service is 100/10. Workers are all so friendly, I really can’t compare the service to any other restaurant. It’s just that good. If you haven’t been, GO. I really hope they can reopen their locations in the Phoenix area!

We have so many great family memories at Sweet Tomatoes in Gilbert, AZ, and we were so, so sad when all the locations closed after 2020. We were very excited to learn a location had opened back up in Tucson! We finally had the chance to make ot over, and it felt like visiting an old friend! It was as delicious as ever, and we wish one would open back up in Gilbert area again!

Great to see sweet tomatoes back after so long. It’s just as I remember it. Quite the selection of fresh veggies on the salad bar. Clam chowder was on point, too. Bring your patience if you go. It was a long wait to get to the front of the line.

Food was bomb. Black beans soup was on a salty side for me. There was 2 vegetarian soup options which was great. Please come to Phoenix so I don't have to drive 1.5 hour. Is there gonna be breakfast buffet in the future?

****SOOOOO HAPPY**** My family and I were living abroad during the COVID era and were heartbroken when we heard the news of Sweet Tomatoes shutting down. We had one a couple of miles from our old house and loved it. Fast forward 5 years and my wife surprised me for my birthday with the knowledge that this one survived. I was excited but worried it wouldn’t live up to my expectations….wrong!!! Not only was the food amazing, the restaurant was clean, but the staff was SUPER friendly and proactive. Melinda Diaz was a rockstar. I literally could not recreate how friendly she was and how wonderful her smile made us feel. This was a great experience! COME BACK TO PHOENIX (specifically Ahwatukee 😉🙏🏻)

It has been a while since I have eaten at Sweet Tomatoes. I am really happy it reopened after a hiatus. Took my adult daughter here for dinner. Salads are ALWAYS fresh and the array is varied and plentiful. Lettuce ( my fave is iceberg) is always fresh and crisp. Dressings and toppings are plentiful and varied. Their soups are always hot and plentiful along with the breads and muffins. I like that there is always a variety of pastas. Kids are catered to and usually well managed by parents. Noise level is manageable. Seating is very comfortable. Drinks are on tap and water and ice are refills free and the staff is very attentive. Have nothing negative to report. These servers work hard to collect dishes, and are diligent in their chores. Salad bar is kept clean constantly and kept replenished! I'm so glad the establishment on east Broadway reopened. Highly recommend Sweet Tomatoes.

Just add good as you remember. Maybe better! We enjoyed a late lunch at 2pm, and the place was still hopping busy. Lots of seniors, walkers and wheelchairs and they are adorable! Lots of grandparents with their grandkids, lots of families. The tuna tarragon salad is just as good as I remember, it's fabulous! The cream of mushroom soup was my favorite. Desserts and ice cream machine we're fabulous. I love their fresh-tasting lemonade. Service was fast and friendly, and atmosphere is top notch. Very clean bathrooms. Expensive at $18pp but totally worth every penny! We drove down from Phx to eat at the only Sweet Tomatoes left! Can't wait to come again.

My wife and I came here for the first time today on 1/25/2026 and it was amazing, but the best part was the service of (and I hope I spell this right) Melinda. She was so kind and always there to scoop everything off the table and even offered to refill our drinks. I didn't have tip money because I didn't know how it worked, but she said if I leave a review it would be just as good. Yo sweet tomatoes higher ups, if you see this she needs a raise or a promotion

I am so happy the re-opening of Sweet Tomatoes is so similar to how it was before they closed. Of course there are a few differences but overall it is still the nostalgic meal we grew up loving. The staff at this location is so wonderful. Even with the crazy long lines, they were able to accommodate our group of 10 without any issues at all. Definitely worth stopping by!

I’ll admit, I only came here because a friend practically forced me to go—but by the end of the meal, I was the one thanking him! My experience at Sweet Tomatoes was fantastic and far exceeded my expectations. The Highlights: The Salad Bar: The sheer variety of ingredients is phenomenal. They haven’t missed a thing—from fresh veggies and nuts to proteins, beans, and an impressive selection of dressings. It’s a "plethora" of options in the best way possible. Beyond the Greens: Just when I thought I was full, I realized the options continued with a great selection of hearty soups, fresh fruit, yogurt, and pasta dishes. The Finish: Ending the lunch with their dessert selection and soft-serve ice cream was the perfect touch. Verdict: This place is 100% worth the money. Whether you’re a dedicated salad lover or just looking for a variety of fresh, filling food, you won't be disappointed. I went in a skeptic and left a loyal fan. Highly recommended!

Used to come go to Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes all the time in San Diego before Covid pandemic hit. The food was always so comforting. Coming back here nearly 7 years later was amazing. We drove almost 500 miles to come check out the last standing location. Everything was the same, nostalgic setup and taste, gave me so many memories. Definitely worth it to try the affordable and delicious options here.

All time favorite restaurant EVER! We used to go often when Sweet Tomatoes had all of it’s original locations, but after the had to close all of them when COVID came, we were quite sad to see out favorite restaurant go! When the re-opened in Tucson though, boy were we happy! We’ve visited twice at their new location, and it’s been awesome! The food, atmosphere and service are all outstanding. Highly recommend if you live or are in the area!!

I have tried to visit this place many times, but there was always a line out the door and down the block... 🫩 Decided to try again today, no line, walked right in... Today was my Lucky Day !!! 🙏 Totally worth the wait.... This place is AWESOME !!! The staff is soooo nice, and the food was FANTASTIC !!! PRO TIP: DO NOT SKIP THE HAWAIIAN COLESLAW !!! Came here with my wife and a friend while on vacation. My wife was super excited as she hadn't been to one since before Covid, and I was excited because I had never been to one 😁 We arrived and were greeted by nice staff. I think it's really neat that you can get a salad right off the bat. Mine was the turkey one, and I got some cottage cheese and that tuna pasta salad. Everything was delicious, what shocked me the most was how good the tuna pasta salad was! Then I got another plate and some smaller plates of stuff. I love how they make the pasta right in front of you, and when its right out of the pan it is fire 🔥 My favorite is the mac and cheese that's so good I don't know how it's vegan, I said what I said 😂😋 Their chili was good too 👍🏻 And of course what is a buffet without ice cream? So I got that for dessert. I was very happy to go here with my wife for the first time, and it was very cute seeing how giddy she was 😊

Absolute pleasure and blast from the past to go back to a Sweet Tomatoes. It feels like nothing's changed. The salad bar and strawberry lemonade were delicious as always, and the kids absolutely loved the all you could eat soft serve bar. If you're a previous sweet tomatoes fan definitely worth the trip.

I am sooo excited Sweet Tomatoes reopened! I missed it so much 🥰🥰. Just an FYI, everyone and their mom wants to go here so be prepared to wait. We went on a Monday at 2pm and it was busy. We had to wait about 20 mins standing outside in the heat. It was worth the wait, but just be prepared. They were letting people in, in small groups so they could refresh the salad bar and make sure there were clean tables. Everything was just how I remembered it and everything tasted fresh. All of the hot items were fresh and hot. All of the staff were super friendly and next time I’m in Tucson I’ll be visiting here again.

We drove from San Francisco to enjoy two amazing meals at the only Sweet Tomatoes in the US right now!! The anticipation came from a three day drive to see if it would be the same experience we grew up on. The Ceaser salad, the house made ranch, the pizza, the ice cream and feeling of home. We got to the location and waiting about thirty minutes outside in the shade where they slowly let in group by group which was great as it didn’t create congestion and rush in the salad line. We were immediately welcomed by the staff and shared our excitement to be back. The prices were so affordable ($13 for adults). Once we had our first bite we were taken back to our family dinners and fond memories from beyond four years ago when they closed. Every bite tasted the same with all the same flavors that we fell in love with in the first place. We came back one more time before leaving Tucson the next day, and just as before it was a 10/10 experience from the food to the staff. Specifically Kristy heard that we had driven so far and we got to talk about how she had dedicated over 20 years working with sweet tomatoes and how important it was to continue to bring staff that understood the community and culture it brought. So, if you have the chance please go and enjoy what you missed the past four years.

You couldn't pay me to wrote a bad review about my beloved Sweet Tomatoes. We traveled to visit this location since all other locations closed during covid and it did not disappoint. Just like I remembered it. Delicious. The line was out the door and down the sidewalk. That is the only hiccup but it was worth it.

L
Lisa Del Prete

Was very crowded but only about a 15 minute wait outside. The food is not quite as good as it used to be but still very tasty. For $13.75 for a weekend evening buffet, I can't complain. There were a lot of topping options for the salad. The Mac and cheese needs more flavor and the chicken noodle soup tasted like water with some chicken thrown in. Seems like the soup and sides could use some seasonings. Other than that, it was good. I'll definitely be back for the salad and baked potatoes! The gentleman that was clearing the tables was on top of things! There were large groups around us and he was clearing away empty trays and plates constantly, wish I had gotten his name - he was a great worker.

Our family has fond memories of Sweet Tomatoes in “the before times” and are so happy to see this going again in Tucson. Service was friendly and helpful and food was tasty and plentiful. We made a special point of coming while we are visiting from Oregon and hope they are successful enough that the business expands!

I’ve noticed the soup quality has gone downhill lately. The mushroom soup was almost watery when it’s normally thick and creamy. The butternut squash soup is one of my favorites, but recently it has tasted really bland. I would have given a much lower score if it weren’t for the great service and the cleanliness of the restaurant, those never disappoint. I’m hoping whoever is preparing the soups can step it up by the next time I visit.

Okay, can we just talk about how Sweet Tomatoes is literally exactly the same?! 🍅✨ I was so scared it would be different after COVID, but it feels like no time has passed. The salad bar, mac n chz , soft serve... it is all perfection.🍦🤤 My inner child is so happy right now. If you’ve been missing it, go! It is honestly therapeutic. 🧘‍♀️

Sweet Tomatoes shut down 6 years ago at the the start of the pandemic and my wife and have missed having it around. Last night, I was checking online to see if there was any information out there as to if the company would ever open again. To my surprise, i discovered that one location is open and it happens to be 2 hours away from us. We decided to take a day trip to visit the restaurant. We were not disappointed. We are hoping that a location will open closer to us in the future.

They're back! Just like the Sweet Tomatoes you remember. Delicious soups. Crisp salads, delicious bakery. We made the trip from Phoenix. We'll be coming back.

So glad to have a salad bar back! The food is pretty fresh. The salad bar can get kinda messy but the food is just as I remember. Very good. Usually busy but they haven't been out of anything even with how chaotic it can be there.

Visiting from CA.and we loved the reminder if the old Souplantation. Freshe vegetables, delicious soup and salads, yummy muffins all for an affordable price. Kudos to Chris who was working so hard to keep the place clean and inviting between clearing tables and doing it all with a friendly attitude.

This restaurant is a great buffet. They offer a wonderful selection of soups and salads, all fresh and full of flavor. The place is very clean, and the service is always friendly and quick. For the quality of food and service you get, the prices are excellent. It’s a perfect spot for a healthy and satisfying meal. Highly recommended!

This was our first time to eat here. Wow it did not disappoint! Everything was fresh and so...so good. The broccoli salad was my favorite salad. The lava cake with a touch of vanilla soft serve ice cream on top made my meal complete.

2005-2007 was the time I entered this euphoria of salad. And once we swung those doors open, the memories started to flood back in. The salads are amazing! The variety is great. Not so sure about the lava cake, but soup and chili are still solid good. And I even got my dad and brother who are meat heads to try some greens there, thank you. Can’t wait to eat there again 😊

Loved this place! I'm a big salad lover and this was the best I've had in awhile. There's so many options with toppings and dressings, all fresh and just the right size. And everything is clearly marked by dietary preference so I was able to easily avoi meat and fish. Cleanliness is obviously a high priority here too. After the huge salad, there's still more - so many kinds of breads and butter (although I wish they had vegan butter options.), soups and pasta dishes - plus yummy deserts. Service was excellent - everyone was so friendly and helpful.

We've always loved Sweet Tomatoes, and were so sad they closed during the pandemic. A new owner with all the recipes has brought back a restaurant that has healthy salads and all the best comfort foods with desserts. So happy they are back.

I’m genuinely happy to have Sweet Tomatoes back. Growing up, this place was more than just a restaurant to me—it was comfort. What I remember most were the evenings when the servers would walk around with warm cookies in a cute little basket, covered with a red plaid blanket to keep them warm. It felt so cozy and thoughtful, and there was something special about being handed a warm cookie at your table. It made the whole experience feel welcoming and full of warmth. Now the cookies are served on a tray, which is still good, but it’s not quite the same magic. That small tradition made dinners feel memorable, and I truly miss it. I’m grateful that Sweet Tomatoes is back, and I hope they consider bringing back the cookie baskets and that tradition along with it. It’s those little touches that made this place feel like home. Nevertheless, I Love you Sweet Tomatoes, I’m so glad you’re back. 🩷

First time back in a long time; since before the Covid closures. I did not realize how much I missed this place! It was great! Staff was super friendly and the food was fresh and really good. I love putting together an "everything" salad like you can do here. Their premade house salads are very goo too. Bakery stuff and soups were very good! So glad we have this gem here in Tucson!!!!

Five stars, easy, for the nostalgia alone. But also, this place still slaps, especially for the incredibly reasonable price. Man I loved going to Sweet Tomatoes when it was still open across the country. I have so many good memories of that dang salad bar. This was a non negotiable stop during a recent visit to Tucson. In fact, I had plans to go a specific day for dinner. But since I was still pretty full from lunch, I decided to stay an extra day just so I could go to Sweet Tomatoes with an empty stomach so I had room to try all my old favorites. It was a damn blast. The food was delicious. The soups and salad taste just like I remember. The staff were so sweet. If you go don’t forget to tip the folks bussing your section! They’re working HARD to grab plates and keep everything tidy- they were in constant motion and doing a great job. I cherish this restaurant and think it absolutely deserves its cult following status. Can’t wait to come back, and please expand up to Washington!

I have traveled many miles to visit this Sweet Tomatoes multiple times. It's just about the same as the good days of having many locations. Fresh salads, soups, breads, and noodle dishes! A true treat to visit! The staff is nice and friendly. If you're in or even out of the area, I highly recommend making the journey to visit the only Sweet Tomatoes.

I finally made it to this Sweet Tomatoes on a recent trip from Georgia to Arizona. This restaurant was exactly like the one I loved going to as a kid. Excellent food, excellent customer service, and an excellent atmosphere filled with nostalgia. Also, the roasted ratatouille soup was the best soup I've ever had. It's true what they say: you don't know what you've got until it's gone. I hope Sweet Tomatoes has a nationwide revival (starting with Atlanta) but until then, I'll just have to come back to Tucson, hungry for more.

It is one of its kind that is still open. IYKYK. We really enjoyed the food options and the service. Bring back the nostalgia of souplantation.

Absolutely love this restaurant. Especially my eldest son and I are big fans of Sweet Tomatoes. My family and I used to go to Sweet Tomstoes back in the days in the Bay Area, but after the closure in pandemic of multiple restaurants, we haven’t been to this one in a long time. This restaurant in Tucson is totally worth it. The food is still the same amazing quality and taste. The variety is extraordinary and the service is really good. I hope you continue to thrive, Sweet Tomatoes! We will continue to visit every opportunity we get.

First visit since March 2020, and I'm happy that the quality of foods and pricing are still the same as I remembered! They also did a great job with crowd control, makes it easier to get around the buffet. Just a thing to keep in mind is that there may be a wait time during weekend mid-afternoon hours (2pm-6pm), which I never had to deal with before COVID. But like most places, the smaller the party, the less time you'll wait.

This restaurant is absolutely first rate. The food was excellent and the salad was fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is just right, and staff are cheerful and make you feel welcome into the restaurant. Just remember to pay with card at this location, they don't accept cash. Well done Sweet Tomatoes, and I am personally happy to see that you are back in business and scoring 10 out of 10 like always. 🙌

Finally made it down from Phoenix. EXACT SAME SWEET TOMATOES we knew and loved six years ago. Same freshness and awesome soups. The place was packed, which is a good thing. Now they just need to reopen in Phoenix. I can't afford the gas!!

Es uno de los lugares que más extrañaba porque después de la pandemia los quitaron de algunos lugares. Fue bueno volver a un lugar que tanto gustaba. Seria capaz de viajar hasta Tucson con tal de probar de nuevo este delicioso lugar.

Trying out Sweet Tomatoes buffet and was quite impressed. The servers and wait staff were all very friendly and constantly helping to clear the tables once we were done and did not rush us out. (We're still within the time limit). The soup selections were pretty good, with 5 of them to choose from and the pasta being freshly made every 5 minutes (or depending when it was out). The muffins were also baked every 10 minutes and if you were to time it right it'll be hot and good. The lava cake was not the best even though they're apparently famous for it. The salad bar were mainly packets of frozen vegetables and didn't taste fresh. There's one round where they just restocked and my plate was ⅓ ice. Coming in at $15 for a buffet it's hard to complain much. Will be back soon!

Amazing soup, pizzas, and muffins. Ok pasta and mac'n cheese. Salad bar is good. Could use some diced ham and a raspberry vinegar fruit dressing. Too much food to eat. Could use another location on north west side of Tucson like Westmore and stone.

This place is all about buffet-style dining, with a salad bar, soups, pasta, and an ice cream station, and it feels a bit like a buffet version of Denny’s. The food is just okay, but it’s affordable, and we’ll probably come back eventually, especially for the salad options.

I have been to Sweet Tomatoes in the past before 2020.. I was looking forward to the soups.. I had 2 of my Daughters with me.. they make trips up from the Valley to Tuscan to come eat.. Well I am in town we came down to Tuscan. I was not to happy with the soup.. Cream of Mushroom to Starchy.. Clam chowder just didn't get it. Tomato Basil was off also.. my girls said the same they eat here often.. just a bad day in the kitchen.. Don't let me stop y'all from trying it. Can't beat an all you can Eat Soup and Salad bar along with Bread and muffins and pasta.. Like I said bad day for the cooks..

Good salad bar. Lots of options. Gets very crowded and is expensive to eat at with 5 people. Soups are ok. Not a huge fan of buffets but you can make a decent healthy salad. Overall far better than a fast food place.

Great salad bar with tons of options. The veggies were all very fresh. Only downside was the lack of protein options, would have been better if they had something other than imitation bacon bits. Very well priced and a quick place to eat

Very very busy! Which is great because I want this place to succeed and open one in Phoenix. Is it worth the drive from Phoenix? Not so sure. The blueberry muffins are amazing. But the focaccia were all terrible and flavorless. The soups were gross but it’s getting too hot for soup anyways. Salad bar was great! Missing the hardboiled eggs but considering the price of eggs, it makes sense they are no longer offered. Customer service is phenomenal. They all are incredible. I hope this place is making money, as they seriously need to invest in another soda fountain. One ice dispenser is not enough for how busy they are.

Great prices for all you can eat healthy buffet! Love the salad bar as well as the wife selection of soups. Definitely a bang for your buck for a healthy buffet.

Got here at dinnertime so was super busy. Food was good and good quality. Service, incredible. We no longer have Sweet Tomatoes in Phoenix. So always nice to visit there when in Tucson.

Menu price photo attached for January 2026. The food taste wasn't like the old Sweet tomatoes. Service and presentation was good.

It's busy as expected but the salad it worth the hassle, that stands on its own. The beverage area could be kept cleaner, and cracked chipped drink tumblers should be tossed out. The soups were bland, the cheese bread under baked. The muffins were dry. Next time I'll go at an off peak time and take a larger salad and not save room for other things. I do love a big salad

We drove from Phoenix to Tucson for Sweet Tomatoes. Its been a while ad theres only one left in the state. The food seems to have taken a dip, I remeber more options, but the service was great and the employees are great.

I was kind of disappointed because I used to love how sweet tomatoes was before covid close them down. I would go there all the time. Now sweet tomatoes is like a salad bar version of CiCi's Pizza. The salad bar part vegetables are very good they no longer have any meats on their salad bar. The fruit part of their salad bar is non-existent, they do have a wider range of soups but they are mediocre now their pastas are very plain although they do have different selections it seems more to be kid-friendly in flavor as in lack of flavor I would say. They also have different breads or pastry type breads that are also very basic for plain tasting. You definitely do get your money's worth but it was very disappointing from what they used to have to what they are now carrying. I will definitely not be dining there as much as I used to in the past.

When getting our food there was no welcoming presence. Managers seem to be standing around while on thier phone consistently for an hour doing nothing. As a matter of fact, most employees stood at the front counter. One manager was a younger guy with goofy hair on his phone while sipping his Starbucks. The other manager was thin with ankle tattoos and a pony tail. Tables needed to be cleaned, trays picked up. And then the pasta area was full of crusted food as if it sat there too long. I stirred the pasta up so it was more presentable. Once again more standing around. Sorry Mr Owner, but these managers make the place look bad. Also, not even a thank you or come again while walking out. Definitely a 1 star! My family used to love this place. P.s. something is wrong with the pink lemonade.

It just ain't the same, no more. They don't change soups every day. They only change it once a month. Not much choice of soups i don't know why they have a 2 hour limit. I used to eat that sweet tomatoes before and then they close down and it was good. This one sucks The macaron macaroni and cheese was like watered down cheese sauce. They used to have more choice of soups. Ask waiter today. They change out soups every day to different ones. He says they do that once a month. I'm so disappointed in this place. Won't be going back

SMH I was there yesterday build my salad on.the line as you walk in took the first bite and found a blonde hair in the first bite (my hair is black) spoke management all they did was change out lettuce it could have been in any of the containers I got food from to build the salad honestly the staff behind the line should wear hair nets. Management didn't even bother asking how he could make it right!!!!
