Caffè Roberto Turin Reviews
Actually only popped in for a coffee but that soon changed and we found ourselves sat in a really nice, family type environment, eating local dishes and sampling home made beer. Very reasonably priced and I have to say filling dishes. We then finished off with a Turin local drink called Bicerin which is a combination of cold coffee, chocolate and cream and is very nice indeed. We love going off the main tourist trail and finding new places and this didn’t disappoint. Whilst it had tourists popping in it very much seemed to not appeal to many, maybe because of the simplicity of the place but that gave it its charm. Anyway it worked for us as we didn’t want to be surrounded by tourists we wanted to be immersed in the Italian experience. If we are ever visiting Turin again we will be going to caffe Roberto agin for sure.
Very very nice bartender!!! He recommended us 'il bicerin' come nel 1585. The croasaints were fresh. If you want to taste something interesting come and visit Caffe' Roberto
Very friendly service. We only had beverages which were good. They also make their own chocolate here.
Versione italiana sotto Super generous and kind staff. They offered me some services which were not included with kindness and generosity. Staff super generoso e affabile. Mi hanno offerto anche se…
Fantastic experience, best food in Turin, service was excellent and you must try Bicerin. Highly recommended! You can eat outside or inside, either way is a good experience
No wait for the table nor our order. We had a summer version of bicerin, which was great. The place seemed a bit small, which did not suit our preference.
Very slow ,Pizza almost to salty to eat,for Italy its very poor and no Parmesan. The decor is old time which is nice and probaly original by the look but i would say have a coffee and move on.
Very good traditional food, easy going friendly environment, great location by Piazza Castello, and affordable price
Food was great. The incovenient was when we ordered, the waiter practically forced us to order the touristic menu for all 4 of us, after we explained that it would be too much food for us and we do not want it and even after that, after il primo piatto (which obviously hasn’t been fully eaten) we asked them kindly if it’s possible to take it away and they said yes. When we got to pay the whole lunch and asked for the food they replied that they threw it away. Disgraceful
The food and the service were ok. The place was clean except the toilet. It is a good place to try local food.
I ordered the ravioli, and they tasted exactly like the store bought ones from the local lidl. The meat inside was mushy and pasty. The atmosphere couldn't be more depressing, no music, plain walls with just a little fake vines and on top of that the place was cold, no heating. The service wasn't the best either. Our waiter wasnt welcoming at all and often ignored us.
Worst owner ever. He treated us very bad. Even his employees are like slaves under his control.
Tourist trap! Place to avoid, the worst hot chocolate in the city, paying high price.
I realized after ordering the aperitivo that I was not in the correct restaurant. I quickly spoke with the waiter/barman and told him I wanted to pay for my drinks and cancel the food order. He said no, he already put the order in so it’s too late. The overpriced plates arrived cold and inedible, and appeared to have been prepared many days ago. There was nothing hot or made to order on the plate, no reason it could not have been cancelled right after ordering. Paid €60 for 2 glasses of wine, 2 lemonades, and 4 uneaten, cold, horrific plates of ancient appetizers. I didn’t know it was possible to get bad food in Italy but this was truly inedible.
Very bad service. High price for cafe. Food is normal, but portion is small
Rating the lunch...Just Unbelievable. Microwaved food. Absent Menu. Riduculous service (waiter got my order while I was still removing my coat, while standing, before sitting at my table). Hair in my girlfriends dessert (a classic). Avoid at all costs.
Entering from the back entrance, we order coffee based on the price list on the wall - showing normal Italian prices. Then, we are told - not asked but told - to sit outside. There, we find another price list, that shows much higher prices, to which we are billed. Places that offer coffee in a fair way are all around, so be sure to make a wise choice.
