I was passing by and stopped to have late brunch with family. We were surprised how much vegetarian options they have and first time tried veg hot dog in restaurant. All staff were so polite and asked plenty of questions regarding diet requirements. Atmosphere in nice and unique, toilets nice and clean must stop place for all looking for nice place to eat. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a refreshing lovely place to eat, the atmosphere was lovely and every single member of staff ….. every one…… had a smile on there face when they served us, lovely young ladies all of them. The food was lovely also and lots of it ooof yummy. As an extra touch for lady customers in the toilet cubicle they have little wooden boxes with useful items in them …. A really thoughtful touch for us girls. This place seems tucked away in its own little corner of Turriff and we’d never have found it had it not been for Google search…. So glad we did we’d highly recommend. Thank you x

​Had a fantastic experience at The Rustic Grill. I ordered the full Scottish Breakfast, and everything was prepared perfectly. The black pudding and haggis were served in doorstep thick slices, and the bacon had a great flavour. My scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy, and the mushrooms had a lovely buttery taste. To top it all off, the tattie scone was perfectly crispy. My only issue was the toast, it wasn't golden brown but kind of a bit pale with darker patches and not much flavour to it, a little dry. Maybe it was toasted in one of those hotel buffet style toasters, but it was a minor quibble. A superb start to the day along with the strong flat white I had. I'd definitely recommend here for breakfastand I'll definitely be back to try their other food.

The food here is amazing and we love it when we are up this way and always recommending it to people who are looking to try something new! The decor is gorgeous and a real rustic vibe. The food is delicious and it has an extensive menu which is great! Even the kids infant potions are generous.

Had a rump steak, medium with scallops, swapped the chips for mash - wow! Steak was cooked to perfection but the scallops? Jesus, they melted in your mouth. Gorgeous!! Peppercorn sauce however was not to my liking at all - sorry guys. It was watery, acidic, almost sour? Couldn't work out what it was - maybe green peppercorns? It tasted store bought almost. The staff kindly switched it out for the whisky and haggis sauce. Wow. Now that's a steak sauce!! Rich, thick, creamy - beautiful! Hubby had the roast beef - cooked through and admittedly, we like a bit of pink to ours. Zero fat on the coo though, lovely! Roast tatties were a bit hard though, could have been doing with a bit more love. I love turnip though and stole some, cooked with butter, tasted fresh, was LUSH! Wee man has the sausage, chips and beans. Asked for only a couple chips - full cup arrived 🙈 fortunately we managed to hide them out the road. I personally prefer my kid to eat the meat and veg first before tatties. Also ordered garlic bread and corn on the cob. Proper garlic bread, ciabatta style. Corn on the cob came with a unicorn handle 😂 but it seemed frozen? Not fresh, that pr it was boiled to within an inch of its life, a bit mushy 😞 Sorbet for the wee man, huge bowl! And a good quality sorbet, not just ice and very slow melting. Apart from the steak and scallops being top notch, the cookie dough was incredible. I'm not a pudding person but wow. The cookie dough has a lovely moreish consistency, a nice amount of salt given how sweet it was. The teacake on the top I actually found too much. It didn't need it. It was delicious!! And REAL chocolate sauce. No gloopy transparent imitations here. The real McCoy!! Also really excellent drink and wine choices! All in all a really excellent dinner. With the wee bits "not quite right" I'd have given 4 star. But the staff and quality of the rest of the meal made up for any missed star 💪☺️

Visited in September 2024 and forgot to leave a review for this amazing place! Being from the US we are used to so many restaurants anywhere we go (& any time of day). Realizing our own fault, we were a little pressed to find something open that could handle a large group after our day exploring the countryside. We arrived just before closing and were prepared to be turned away understandably, but the owner(?) & staff graciously agreed to accommodate the 11 of us. Not once did the staff make us feel like we were imposing. Quite the opposite, the service was impeccable as was everyone's meal. We even had a tired child that was entertained by the staff & lifted everyone's mood. We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience here at The Rustic Grill and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone traveling that way. Thanks to all of you there that helped us out that night! 5 stars all around!!!

Great food, good value. We were a party of 11 and we all said the food was superb. The starters were great and the steaks were just right. Someone had the fajitas and said they were spot on. Only had room for coffees as large portions

A sublime meal at the Rustic Grill tonight (9th Sept 2023). The staff were excellent, particularly our female waitress which we unfortunately didn’t get the name of - and we’re disappointed about that, as we wanted to specifically shout her out. She had a good level of banter about her, which was great - especially considering she was dealing with a table of four men. The food was absolutely amazing. All of us said the same; that it was great portions and unbelievable taste and presentation. Couldn’t have faulted a thing. Atmosphere was great Pricing was great Food was great Service was great 10/10

Great diner in Turriff at the Rustic Grill. Atmosphere is comfy with great servers with delicious food. You should not miss this great meal. If you plan to go late afternoon, you will need reservation. They worked hard to please 2 picky Americans wanting sweat tea with a smile and delivered great food. The steak, chicken sandwhich and fish/chips were delicious.

Went here with my family. All loved the food, it was absolutely delicious and served in good time. The service was fantastic, very kind people and helpful. Worth a visit 100%. Will definitely come again when next in the area. :)

Having recently moved close to Turriff we were eager to explore restaurant’s as venues for ‘date night’. The additional challenge for me is that my wife is vegan and I have lost count of the times we have sat down and read a menu only for her to look disappointed at the only options for her being Vegan burger or butternut squash curry. The Rustic Grill was an absolute delight on Thursday evening. The restaurant itself was extremely warm and inviting, with the Christmas decorations making it feel lovely and seasonal. We were greeted warmly and the service was excellent and not overbearing as it can be with many restaurants. The menu was excellent with whole section devoted to Vegetarian/Vegan - it is the first time I have seen my wife struggling with so many menu choices in a long time. The food was excellent - Cullen Skink was magnificent - the only down side is that we were both too full to manage a dessert. We will definitely be back and would recommend whole heartedly to anyone seeking a local restaurant option.

Best Gluten-Free Burger Ever! I recently had the best gluten-free burger at The Rustic Grill! As someone who often struggles to find good gluten-free options, I was thrilled with the delicious, juicy burger and fresh toppings. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience. If you're looking for amazing gluten-free food, I highly recommend The Rustic GrillI can't wait to return!

Been here a few times and always delights! Fab tapas style food options. Our faves are the pork belly and the goats cheese platters. For mains, everything is a fave! You need to try their black pudding and mushroom burger, it's an absolute delight! Me, daughter and sister would order just the small portions (yes you can order them in some meals) but there are ample food in there for those who dont have big appetites. Between the 4 of us and the times we've been here, we've probably tried 70% on the menu and everyone leaves happy all the time. Shame we will soon be moving far away from them but we'll always make sure we stop over when we're in the area or passing by Turriff.

Wow! What a hidden gem! Easily accessible (husband in a wheelchair), amazing food (those onion rings!😍), friendly service. Had to ask for a doggy bag for the leftovers. We will definitely be back.

We came across The Rustic Grill by chance this afternoon and it was spectacular! As a Gluten Free person as well I always struggle to find places to eat or I’m left with very little choice but not here! Not only did I have lots to choose from there was things on the menu I’ve never been able to get anywhere else ever. The food and service (by Lucy I think) were amazing and we will definitely be back.

Wow! Absolutely great food, good portion sizes, the onion rings are absolutely huge and super delicious. The owner is very friendly and chatty. She even made me a banoffee dessert that wasn't on the menu (slight banoffee addiction) and I have to say it was the best banoffee I've ever had! Definitely want to come back.

I took on there bbq ribs. The bones came right out without any effort. Sadly the ribs were too big for me too finnish, but luckily I could take away what was left off this hunk off meat in a nice box. I will be comming back in the future too take on there ribs again.

Excellent service, friendly & helpful staff, brilliant selection of gluten free and vegan options and delicious non-alcoholic cocktails! Update 02 /03 /2023: yet another superb meal! Fantastic food and service! Love the decor and atmosphere. Definitely my go to place to eat! (have visited for brunch, lunch and dinner several times now, never disappointed)

We had an excellent meal here! The decor and ambiance is lovely. We were driving through while traveling the country, wearing hoodies and jeans and we felt underdressed. There were not many options for food where we were driving from and it was 3pm so we were starving. They were hesitant to give us a table so close to their dinner rush at 4pm but after lots of deliberating, they did. The Caesar salad, Mixed Salad, and chicken sandwich were fantastic. We were finished eating and ready to leave around 4 and the restaurant was nearly empty. I wish the seating process for us felt more kind and inviting but to food was excellent.

Enjoyed a fabulous breakfast today. Beautifully cooked, non greasy Scottish breakfast washed down with a great cup of coffee. We visit almost every Sunday and are never disappointed. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food comes out quickly. We both highly recommend.

#AutismFriendly, lighting is dimmed as they use fairy lights and heavy shades, we requested a corner booth so we were out the way, high seater / walled pretty much round our table. Absalute hit with the boys. We landed up taking some of our food home in takeaway boxes, which wasn't an issue for staff. New foods, new place, new choices was a bit much all at once the boys. Halloumi fries are always amazing!

Just back from an evening meal. Two young kids and three adults. We had a lovely meal. Great food at a good price. What I especially liked was that the kids meals were good quality food. Not the garbage frozen chicken nuggets etc you get elsewhere. Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere inside. A real gem in the north east

Really surprised by this place having heard very mixed reviews. The food was very good (clean plates all round) as was the service. They were more thorough with my being gluten free than I've ever experienced and the GF options were plentiful. It's very nicely decorated too. We will definitely go back.

Really amazing food. Stopped in for a small lunch, managed to get a table as there was a no show on their booking. I had the burger and the wife had the honey loaded fries. Both dishes were perfect. Really recommend this place.

Been here before, but a while ago. We enjoyed the novelty factor, of being able to cook own protein on hot stones. Informed that tuna no longer available to cook yourself, or in the restaurant kitchen. This was a disappointment, that was the only reason we chose there to eat. Menu is confusing, not clear on how, what to chose to go with it. Food was average, not bad portion size. Had a long wait between courses. Prices have gone up quite a bit, Not really worth it. 1 starter, steak, salmon, chips, mushrooms sautéed veg. Side onion rings. Mild peppercorn sauce, lemon/caper butter. Children's main and dessert. 2 adult desserts. 1 cocktail, 1 fuit shoot. 1 - 1/2shandy. Total was just shy of £100, which was a shock. Good accessibility for buggies/ wheelchair. Good disabled toilet, baby change facilities.

Family lunch in this lovely restaurant, good food, comfortable and stylish with reasonable prices, 6 people one round of alcohol drinks and main course only $135

Such a shame, the food is great and the restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, definitely visit! Our waitress was really polite and helpful. I just hope you aren't greeted by the same woman (lead to believe she's the owner 🙃) we were. She was just rude, more concerned with telling us off for booking online and how quickly she'd need the table back than welcoming us or giving us a menu. Her poor customer service continued, when she made snide remarks at people's food preferences, this spoiled the visit. As I say great food and definitely worth a visit. Perhaps a back of house role for them in the future and the more welcoming staff can serve customers. Visited 27th of September

The service was slow and inattentive. We had to wait a long time just to get menus, and even longer to place our order. Our server seemed distracted and uninterested, and we had to ask more than once for simple things like water refills. The food, sadly, was just as underwhelming. Every dish felt like it was trying too hard without delivering. The flavors were bland, the textures were off, and nothing seemed fresh. It honestly felt like most of the items had been sitting around for a while before reaching our table. Timing was also a mess—some dishes came out lukewarm, others arrived way too late. There was no real flow to the meal, and by the end, we just wanted to leave. This didn’t feel like a thoughtful dining experience—it felt rushed, careless, and overpriced. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was a letdown from start to finish.
