Mama's Cafe Ukiah Reviews
A small but cozy place. The staff is very caring. The food is excellent. We try something different every time and have never been disappointed. Our 4 generation get-togethers ❤️ this Cafe
Amazing breakfast potatoes! And I’m usually not a potato guy. Amazing portions of delicious food. Worth checking out!
Really cute place, very nice staff and amazing food. The breakfast was delicious and portions were great. We also took a sourcream cinnamon muffin and a gluten free banana muffin. Both were excellent. One of the best muffins I've ever had (the sourcream cinnamon). 🤩
We were actually going to another restaurant but it was too busy. Somebody told us about this one so we thought we'd give it a try. We were unsure at first because it didn't say Mama's on the front door or window anywhere. It was a small place but I opened the door and asked the waitress if this was Mama's and she said yes. So we grabbed a seat and ordered some tea and checked out the menu. The breakfast part of the menu was pretty big but the lunch menu was a little small which is okay. My wife ordered the grilled chicken pesto sandwich and kettle chips and I ordered the club sandwich with country potatoes with garlic. We were both amazed so so glad we found this place the food was excellent the club sandwich was different than any club sandwich I've ever had anywhere. It didn't have three pieces of bread it had two on a bun. And my wife loved her chicken sandwich I don't like pesto but I tried it and was very impressed. The wait staff was fantastic lady was very nice. There's also a little bakery right next door which is part of the restaurant. It is owned by a lady who comes in early in the morning and gets everything ready and does the baking. Breakfast or lunch I highly recommend this place my wife and I will definitely be going back.
We've lived in Ukiah for almost 4 years. We heard about Mama's Cafe. But, this was our first visit. Why did we wait so long? The decor has an old school feel (a good thing). Still, we did not come for the decor. We were looking for good food made with natural ingredients. Creative but simple recipes. In short, high quality that tastes fantastic. We were more than satisfied. Service was great, and prices were fair. I spoke with the owner. For more than 20 years, she has proudly served good eats. Truly a rare find!
I was in town for a work meeting and wanted to stop by somewhere for a quick bite before going into work. This place was amazing! I had the breakfast quesadilla and it has got to be the best one I've ever had. When it comes out it hits you with a bang! Fresh aromas of herbs is stemming from this dish. Every bite was packed full of flavor! If I lived closer this place would be my go to!
A little charming place for breakfast and brunch. The food was fantastic so do the service and price. Definitely recommend this place if you are in town.
One of my favorite places for breakfast in Ukiah. It's small, mostly busy, but worth the wait. I love their food. It's my son's favorite place for breakfast.

One of my favorite places for breakfast in Ukiah. It's small, mostly busy, but worth the wait. I love their food. It's my son's favorite place for breakfast.
Wonderful place. I love that they let you substitute tofu for eggs.
I had the best eggs Benedict of my life here! And it’s my go to! Cute little place with friendly staff and delicious food.
The food is excellent but today I tried to order my regular dish, country biscuits and gravy, and to my dismay, it's no longer avail online. Other than that, I love love love this cafe and their food.
Caught them at a busy time, but they seated us without a wait. Somehow did not know of the place, but are glad we found it! good choices of breakfast food, very good food, good service.
Consistently great food, service, and atmosphere. Never had a bad meal or interaction with anyone. Eaten here over 2 dozen times, my favorite spot when in town for brunch, breakfast or lunch 😋.
Service was very good, nice brunch/lunch kind of place. Felt comfortable eating indoors FOR THE FIRST TIME at a restaurant in over a year. The servers wore masks and the tables were well set apart, and both front and back door were left open. The patio dining was full, but the interior decor is nice too. The food was very good. Potatoes were just about the best I've ever had with a brunch. Highly recommend.
Excellent food, salmon Benedict. Excellent service by Wyatt.
Mama's is one of my favorite places in Ukiah. They have the best menu. I am eating a RR with scrambled eggs and the rosemary in the eggs is delicious. All their food is delicious and my favorite is always what I am eating at that moment.
Amazing! Delicious real food. Terrific staff and one of the best benedict's I've ever had in my life. Rosemary potatoes were divine. And the baked pancake with three cheese and ham inside heavenly. Absolutely loved everything and will return as soon as possible to try more of the menu as it all looked enticing and fabulous.
Fantastic food, my daughter and I would come here once a week when she was going through chemo. The staff were always helpful and friendly and the food was amazing. My daughter and I loved there food and the atmosphere. For her she would say go for the waffle with whipped cream and chocolate chips. I say good morning Ukiah or the chicken pesto panini.

The atmosphere is charming and warm. The outside seating was beautiful and the air was filled with intoxicating jasmine! Our server was kind, polite and patient as we reviewed the many options on the menu. The food was fresh and 5 star on my ratings! I would absolutely enjoy another meal there and support local!
A cute place with exposed brick and lots of local art - including from kids summer camp when we were there - and a nice patio. Generally, the food was very good. Neither of us cared for our drinks, though - the ginger peach tea didn’t have much flavor and the Nutella coffee, as you can see, what quite sloppy and didn’t taste all that great. Lots of flies from the doors being open, had to constantly swat at them to keep them away from the food and from landing on us. That was a major yuck factor.

I have eaten breakfast here about 3 times a month , I really like the servers since they are always very nice and do a great job, unfortunately lately the cook will not make your eggs the way you order them which is very ridiculous and I have a hard time understanding since it doesn’t make any since. The coffee is Good thé OJ is Good and most everything else is Good. I recently had breakfast/ lunch here May 17 2025, I and my daughter had a terrible experience, my son’s food, one of the breakfast bowls was good, my daughter ordered a sandwich which was awful, dry with basically nothing on it, way overpriced but should not have even been delivered to any table. My cappuccino was so awful it was like old coffee from the pot with some milk not frothed at all. Maybe they were having a really bad day, maybe they ran out of ingredients to make their dishes, I don’t know but it was a disaster, I have been a cook/ chef for many years and had to take items off the menu as the ingredients diminished, I don’t know what happened but we should have returned everything but my son’s bowl which he said he enjoyed. I hope that this was just a really bad😞

Good service but Overpriced food. No flavor on my French toast not even powder sugar, had to ask for it. Potatoes were burnt.

Went this cafe because it had such good ratings. Well the food was cold, the biscuit breakfast was not very good, biscuit was hard like it was cooked a couple of days ago. The potatoes were way over cooked. I dont think anything was fresh. My waffle was cold so, very disappointed.
