Oco Time Ukiah Reviews
This place has made my overall top 3 list for sushi places ever! The cashews added so much to the rolls! It’s a must visit if you are in Ukiah. Was even still good after I refrigerated the leftovers.
I love this place! The food and service are always on point. A must if you're visiting Ukiah or traveling through. 10 out of 10!
Absolutely stunning setting warm atmosphere, food was fantastic and service was spectacular can't wait to come back
Finally got to try Oco Time last week and we're so excited we did. The food and service were great! Our server Sebastian was helpful in recommending several vegan sushi rolls. Oco has the most extensive vegetarian and vegan options I've ever seen at a sushi restaurant. We tried several rolls and an appetizer, and each was unique and delicious. We sat outside because my wife is immune compromised but Sebastian did a great job at serving us. We are already looking forward to going back to try the Oco special which is a Japanese savory pancake.
This is our special date night spot, the atmosphere is so chill and makes for a great date to chat about our week. The food is immaculate and always made with sunder quality ingredients. The staff are all so nice and friendly, always remember the little details.
This place really lives up to and deserves the great reviews it gets. The (vegan) food was as delicious as it was beautiful. The spicy garlic edamame comes with a real kick of heat and flavor, which the latter seemed to be the theme of the meal. Everything was really flavorful.
I ate outside twice and had good food each time. I want and will continue to have their vegan and vegetarian dishes. Fun find at sushi / noodle places. Prices are fair for portion sizes. Server service is slow but I went during peak times. I will attempt to eat out next time. Temporary parking available on the streets surrounding the restaurant.
Easily some of the best vegan sushi we have ever had! The Magic Dragon roll was creamy, and the Pele is a Vegetarian fulfilled the “eel” roll flavor that is hard to replicate. The calming atmosphere and warm staff made this otherwise plain space a treat. The Miso Soup was delicious.
A wonderful dining experience! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. For a true taste of okonomiyaki (OCO), this place is a must-visit.
Sushi was fantastic. Service needed a bit of improvement but the food made up for it. Serving size is very hearty so if you are use to eating a ton of rolls I would do one or two at a time here. Prices were pretty reasonable as well for how much food you get.
It's tasty and full of unique flavor, reasonable priced and the service is adequately speedy. Overall an satisfying experience. I'm vegetarian and I'm surprised that they put so much effort into vegetarian dishes. Most other restaurants won't treat vegetarian dishes seriously. But at Oco time, it's always satisfying dish no matter your preference. There will be some waiting because they are always so busy, and you usually need reservation to get a seat.
Thoroughly enjoy this place, Service is always great, we get greeted every time by the Sushi Chef and Staff. And they have plenty O' vegan options! Spicy Magic Dragon Roll is D'Lish!!
Probably some of the best sushi I have had outside of Japan! We were fortunate enough to get last minute reservations at rh Sushi bar. Always a pleasure to see the sushi artist at work. It tastes as fresh as it looks. We may decide to go back tomorrow for dinner.
The food was fantastic! Our server was friendly and could help us with all our questions. The best part… tempura without gluten! Can’t say how long it’s been since I was able to have tempura and it was so light and delicious.
Imagine a light and cool atmosphere, mouthwatering, impeccably presented, giant sushi rolls on beautiful dishes, a generous-sized miso soup, generously sized salad with delicious miso dressing, giant plates of Oco (layered food textures teeming with flavor and comfort), and various choices of drink (including Japanese soda that has a marble on top), and you might just find yourself in the small-but-cozy, Japanese-American restaurant -- Oco Time!! It was hard to chose from the more-than 30 rolls and several oco nomiyakis and appetizers, because we Love so much of what they offer!! We chose ... Sushi Rolls (Dragon roll, Mendo Popper roll, and Arline Roll), 2 Oco Nomiyakis -- Hawaiin Oco and Mendo Oco -- Miso Soup, and a salad with miso dressing. They also serve Sashimi, Sushi Nigiri, Bento boxes, and so much more Amazing food, impeccably made and presented, with great flavors which fill your mouth, belly, and soul Sooooooo good, soooooo delicious Our server Arianna checked on us often enough and treated us well. I forgot to leave a tip! I will bring the tip, soon. @ocotime Dragon Roll -- BBQ Eel, Tempura Shrimp, Cucumber, Carrot, Beet, Sprouts, and wrapped with Avocado ($15) Mendo Popper Roll (we asked for Not spicy) -- Whole Tempura Style) Your choice of Smoked Salmon or Spicy Tuna Mix with Cream Cheese, Avocado, Jalapeno, Cilantro, Lemon and Green Onion with Spicy Tahini Sauce and Chili Sauce ($14) Arline Roll -- Inside : Avocado, Cream Cheese, Cashew Nut, Cilantro, Garlic, Sprouts, Beets, Carrot and Cucumber Outside : Fresh Shiso Leaf with WhiteTahini Sauce, Basil Tahini Sauce, Mango and Blood Orange Puree Sauce, Dry Shiso Powder and More Cashew Nuts on top ($9) Hawaiian Oco (Happiness) $20.50 Base plus Natural Rocky Jr. Chicken Thighs, Pineapple, Avocado and Cheddar Cheese. {Base : (sliced cabbage, bean sprouts, green onion, egg, noodles)} Mendo Oco (Community Spirit) $14.00 Base plus Natural Rocky Jr. Chicken Thighs with Yakisoba Sauce and Hemp Seeds & Nori Powder. {Base : (sliced cabbage, bean sprouts, green onion, egg, noodles)} #yummm #greatfood #itswhatsforlunch #sushirolls #DragonRoll #MendoPopperRoll #ArlineRoll #HawaiianOco #misosoup #MendoOco #SaladWithMisoDressing #myfavoriteistheKatiRoll #tempura #pineapple #chicken #sushi #oco #oconomiyaki #bento #noodles #sashimi #rawfish #cookedfish #veganrolls #jenniferceja #seaweed #Arianna #awesomeservice #jennifercejaphotography #fish #seafood #soysauce #eggs #eggsinOco #japones #japanese #japaneseamerican #OcoTime

It was my first time to visit Ukiah. The town is lovely. There are some restaurants that you can try. I had a good time at Oco Time, a japanese restaurant. They have vegetarian menu for you to choose. I had sushi, fried tempuras, and Oco dish. I like them all. I will come back.
This cosy Asian Restaurant does not only serve a range of Japanese cuisines, they also offers a delightful range of Vegetarian-friendly options, including their signature Okonomiyaki and beautifully crafted Sushi-Rolls made with fresh vegetables, tofu and creative plant-based ingredients. Vegetarian Okonomiyaki includes dish name “Earthy”that has toppings of Mushrooms & Green Onions, and “Guardians” that has Broccoli, Yam, Kabocha Pumpkin as toppings instead. As for Vegetarian Sushi Rolls, Tofu Delight Roll, Raven Roll, Vege Vege Roll, Magic Dragon Roll and Veggie Popper Roll tasted as good as their names. Overall, its a good spot for anyone seeking a flavourful vegetarian Asian-Japanese dining experience or together with their companions who wants meat option instead.
I ordered the tofu tempura and veggie Oco to-go on a busy thursday night. My food took a long time (it was ready an hour after I ordered it) as I think the restaurant was packed. Tempura was really yummy!! The Oco was weird but tasty, love the cabbage and amount of veggies, I ordered both sweet and spicy sauce, portion was huge and I had it for lunch the next day. The squash on the top were undercooked which was a shame because it would have been really tasty otherwise but this kind of detracted from the whole dish.

BEWARE!! The prices Oco shows on Google Maps are wrong. A 9 piece sashimi plate is shown as $16, but I was charged $21, that's almost a 30% increase. The hamachi kama jumped from $18 to $25. That's an almost 50% increase! WOW! My bill got jacked up to $150.33, before tip. The hamachi kama was nigh upon excellent, spiced to perfection, no additional sauce needed. The hamachi kama was slightly overcooked, rendering the flesh a bit hard and dry, requiring a little moistening soy sauce. I make my own sashimi sauce, regular and low sodium soy sauce based, with hints of sesame oil and Sriracha sauce, so plain soy sauce was a little underwhelming. And to compound the errors Oco gave no wassabi, and just a couple of napkins. The ahi sashimi was beautiful, translucent, without the slightest hint of connective tissue or blood. Sadly the texture was a little pasty and the ahi was devoid of that characteristic rich flavour. The salmon was peach-orange, rich and creamy, but lacking that latent sweetness that makes you think of candy with each bite of salmon. The seared albacore was OK, nothing to write home about. A little wassabi might have rescued it. The smoked salmon was quite good, but not my thing. I am partial gravad lax, no smoke required, so I found this smoked salmon a bit jarring. I think that with a little palate education, and an accompanying glass of warm saki, I might come to enjoy smoked salmon. I was curious as to how a fish as oily as mackerel might work as sashimi ... it did not work for me. It was rock hard, generally tasteless with a strong medicinal-chemical undertone. To my mind there are better and more appropriate uses for mackerel. Recommendation: AVOID, overpriced hit or miss dishes. Failure to provide wassabi is unforgivable.

I have a severe cinnamon allergy. I asked the server about it and he advised that there is no cinnamon in the restaurant! Great! He was lovely. But then he told the “chef” my question and we could hear “the chef” loudly saying “what a stupid question” and then guess what!? The noodles with veggies and tofu had all-spice. And if you buy inexpensive all-spice- it has cinnamon! I had to take Benadryl and had a miserable rest of our 6 hour drive.
