Hello Kitty Café Universal City Reviews
𝐈 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐓 <𝟑 I went there for my birthday. It was such an amazing experience! Even though it was very pricey, It was still a good place to be at! Now I’ve noticed other people said the desserts weren’t really good and the drinks were too sugary.. but I got the pompompurin dome cake and it was really good! So whatever they did, they must’ve started to get improvements! and as a Sanrio girliee fan, I love it so much. Now one thing that needs improvement is the prices, The price shouldn’t be too expensive for drinks and a dessert.. The drinks should be at least $5 - $7 and I recommend the desserts being $5 - $10 depends on the quality and how big are the desserts.. but other than that I will definitely go there again!! (≧◡≦)
Visited Universal Studios CityWalk recently and I knew I had to try an item from the Hello Kitty Cafe! The staff is super friendly and helpful and I went on a Sunday afternoon and didn't encounter many crowds. I ordered the Pompompurin Mousse Cake, which was vanilla and caramel flavored! I thought the portion size was perfect for the price because the dessert was expertly crafted, very tasty, and super cute! Definitely loved the experience at Hello Kitty Cafe and I can't wait to come back and experience more!
I brought my neice here cause she loves Hello Kitty and wanted to experience this cafe. She order a tuxedo Sam Lemonade and I got Hot Chocolate on this rainy day.
Love the cute desserts and the service is good, the only thing you should keep in mind when planning to go here is that there is no indoor seating it's all outdoors and there aren't a lot of chairs and tables. So if you go during the day it might be hot and in the sun. My cake was delicious but a little melty.
This is a cute location. The menu is different from the other hello kitty cafes. The wait time wasn't bad at all, even though the line was pretty long. Theirs only a few tables. I got lucky enough to find seating, but it's mostly to go.
The desserts and drinks were done beautifully. The atmosphere and the aesthetic of the cafe was so cute as well!
Took the girls after finding it on tik tok. Such an experience and I want to take my toddler now 🥹

OMG I love this!!!!!! I only had the Hello Kitty Strawberry Green Iced Tea, but my dad got a hot chocolate! I heard the prices were high, but both the iced tea and hot chocolate were $15 together, which is lower than one drink in my hometown!!!!!! I also love the Sanrio Smile Shop right next to it, but the prices on the merch in there were pretty high, if you go there I recommend the hello kitty iced tea (it costs less then most boba drinks *at least at my hometown* and is way more fancy with sugar rims and mint leaves! And to get a engraved bracelet at the shop connected to it) Btw this is Christy’s son, not her, okay!

Cute cafe! I have been to the one at Irvine Spectrum in Orange County as well - and I've walked past the pop-up in Vegas. They are all pretty similar; cute decor and same menu. The day I went there the fire alarm went off and they could not take any orders before the alarm was done (naturally). I was the last to put in my order, and fortunately got my drink before they had to close down temporarily. I had a lemonade which was served in a cute Hello Kitty themed cup with strawberries and a candy rim. It is a bit pricey (but not compared to the drinks inside the park, so at that time everything felt "cheap"). Good drink, but not spectacular!
My wife wanted to come here and try this place so I of course took her tonight on a Friday. At first the line looked busy but when you get closer, you'll see that there a line for a store next to it and another line for the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe. The line wasnt long so we got in it and I was looking at their menu. I read other people review and they said the churros is not good. So I went with the Hello Kitty cookie and my wife got the Hello Kitty Strawberry Green Iced Tea because the worker said it's less sweet. They give us a pager to where it would vibrate when our order was ready. We found a table near the pickup area and sat there. The moment we sat down, the pager started vibrating and I went to pick up our order. My wife likes the Green Iced Tea but since they put sugar around the lip, your hands will get sticky. The cookie was fine as well so I would recommend getting that and even though is pricey, keep in mind that this is city walk.
I recently stopped by the Hello Kitty Cafe at Universal City and while the atmosphere was undeniably adorable, I was a bit disappointed with the offerings. Compared to other locations like Irvine or Vegas, the was no merchandise and the selection of food and drinks was limited. I was hoping for a classic latte but was surprised to find only a Macha latte on the menu. The rest of the options seemed to be various lemonades. The macarons were delicious and so was the cake. The presentation was very cute. The lack of seating was also a bit of a bummer. It's a great spot for a quick bite or drink on your way to Universal Studios, but I wouldn't recommend making a special trip just for the cafe.

Super cute storefront. Items are overpriced at the cafe and in the smileshop, reminded me of Claire's but a hello kitty themed Claire's. I do wish I could order items online as there were items I wanted to buy but the line was long and I was impatient. Workers are friendly and welcoming.

The food here is really just ok. We all had mixed feelings on a lot of the things we tried. I thought the winner by far was the ube chocolate mousse cake. My kids preferred the cinnamon mousse cake. No one cared for the strawberry cake. No one is in a hurry to go back again, if ever. It sure is cute to look at, though, and it was fun to try.
We stopped by Hello Kitty's and Friends Café, but unfortunately, it didn't quite meet our expectations. The place feels overhyped-the pastries were overpriced, and while they were okay, they weren't anything special.
My daughter and her friends enjoyed their hot coco, but my drink was this strawberry green tea, and it was way too sweet! My family and I always go to the one in Vegas (when we visit) and their drinks are not that sweet but enough sweet to enjoy it. A totally different menu than here in studios. The aesthetics are great. Great for IG photos but my god they aren't cheap.

Disappointed. It's hype - at the finest. For review context I have also been to the location in Irvine. I ended up trying this location because I was thirsty and nothing else was open yet at Universal City Plaza. Let's jump right into this review. Hello Kitty Cafe is an abundance of cuteness. Adorable. Festive. And IG worthy pics. What did we have - 1. Tuxedosam Lemonade $8 + tax - Blue Raspberry Lemonade with pink sugar rim and lemon pinwheel 2. My Melody Lemonade $8 + tax - Strawberry Lemonade with yellow sugar rim and lemon pinwheel Pros 1. Cute pics. Food is asethically pleasing to look at. Cons 1. Prices are high. Period. It's the name and location. $8 for a drink is unbelievable. 2. The drinks are extremely sweet. To sweet for me and my son. We immediately noted the sweetness in both drinks. This could be a personal palette thing BUT the sugar level in the drinks is high making them impossible to consume. I don't see myself returning to this location due to cost and sweetness level in the drinks. After attempting to drink our lemonades - it just wasn't doable. The sugar level made me more thirsty #bummer. If you are looking for those picturesque moments, this is your spot. Abundance of cuteness just not edible. You decide if the picture/post is worth the $$.
The staff are not aware of their own food but that's ok it's a busy place and get it. However what really disappointed me was the quality of the desserts. The hello kitty cookie is the most mid $6 cookie I've ever had. The churro felt like it was made in a factory 🏭 and the My Melody cake was just ok, nothing special. I expected more for my money.
This is only for aesthetics purposes. They barely have 10 tables available. This is only meant for you to buy and leave to either the park or the rest of City Walk. I personally didn't care for it. Kiddos liked the experience. It is pricey and everything is very, very sweet.

The Hello Kitty Café was a bit disappointing. The selection of drinks and desserts was very limited, and the prices were surprisingly high—not just here, but at the next door gift shop too. The service left much to be desired. We ordered the Kuromi tea, but it didn’t even taste like tea—it was just dark-colored water with ice which costs $10, which made my daughter sad. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to our expectations given the steep prices.

Visited for the first time with my daughter, the only good thing here was the service! I ordered the Chococat Chocolate Blended beverage, it has no coffee, just like a chocolate frappe! $10, I also ordered the Chocolate Hello Kitty Mini Cake $13, the cake was nasty and dry! Honestly tasted like a chocolate little debbie pastry, but little Debbie is better. You would think for the price it would of been of quality, a Starbucks pastry would have been waaaaay better. Literally Photo Op worthy, I didn't take pictures like that, I just wanted to make my daughter happy, so we tried what we tried. Definitely not worth the prices, at least spend it on actual merch!
