Starbucks Universal City Reviews
One of the few places that are still affordable at citywalk
Renovation is completed. Unfortunately no indoor seating has been added. Only outdoor seating. The employees are brand new and still learning. Andrea is a great team leader and look forward toward the new employees professional growth.
The Vanilla Bean Frappuccino was made perfectly.
Great one. Plenty of room inside. Good drive through. Avoid mid days and weekend nights if you can. Gets very busy.
Nathalie drew a cute animal face on our cup
Andres was one of the best baristas I have ever had the pleasure of ordering from. Great experience and I have had my fair share of frustrating moments at coffee shops but this wasn't one of those times.
Nice atmosphere and great customer service. You can't go wrong with this location.

A very small Starbucks location, there are no tables inside at all and just a handful of them on an outside patio area. The store is often crowded with tourist and party goers and more and the line starts forming right at the door since the store is very small. Staff is fast and reliable they are always on top of their game. Just be aware that there might be a long line to order drinks
My friends and I stopped by this Starbucks in City Walk since we saw on Yelp and Google that they close at 2am. Other Starbucks closes at 8pm or 9pm so we decided to come to City Walk since my friend wanted his coffee. If you're a AMC Stub member then you should use your free ticket to take advantage of not paying full price for parking. This Starbucks location is on the 2nd floor now instead of the 1st floor in its old location. This Starbucks store isn't big, I think it's meant for just people to get their drink and relax outside in their outdoor seating area or to walk around City Walk. My friend got his black coffee and my other friend got the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso. They enjoyed their drink but it did take a while to come out when they weren't that busy. When we left the store at 10pm, they started closing their door and said they were closed so we were surprise since we thought they close at 2pm.
Perhaps they are short of manpower; the queue is long, and the cashier has to prepare beverages as well. We waited for nearly 20 minutes for a drink. By the way, the staff is very polite, friendly, and helpful.
Good golly Miss Molly. This Starbucks churns out a massive amounts of drinks. I dropped in on them twice in one day, for breakfast and later for drinks. Both times there was a crowd. The team churned out drinks and food orders while keeping it professional even when customers were not. The interior is beautiful, modern and gorgeous. There is no indoor seating. But they do have a few tables outside right on the City Walk. Makes for interesting people watching. They also sell Starbucks merch including the collectible mugs. They had each a Universal Studios one and a Los Angeles version.
Great little Starbucks, very handy for that pass through breakfast on the way into the park first thing in the morning, service was also good considering the number of customers there at that time of day..
Small location, with so so fast service. Drinks were made correctly, so that's pretty awesome. Outside patio is nice for driving coffee and people watching.

after reviewing the place, we had a nice experience during the day in the same place, its a shame that we had this last impression at the end of the day, i will leave my original feedback, to just state that it was irresponsible behavior from one of the team for the late shift, yet the morning shift who had the bigger load, was great and very helpful and did their job perfectly with the huge load in the morning, ... my original was (( I ordered late and kept waiting for 10 min watching the team working there with no order on hand till I asked for my coffee and the reply was where is my receipt as seems the printer was not working and no one checked with the people waiting that there was no order in hand, and at the end the reply was we can make your order but let us check the order, that was at the end of the day 9:30 pm with few people ordering worse service ever seen in Starbucks))
Nice coffee shop but why make customers wait? Maybe they like a line up with human frustration.

I ordered a grande hot Pike Place coffee while visiting Universal CityWalk, and unfortunately, the cup started leaking through the bottom within about 15–20 minutes. The leak ruined my fiancé’s brand-new white Nike shirt while we were walking around. We went back to the store and spoke with the manager, Melissa. When I explained what happened, her response was, “I’ve neeeeever seen a cup do that before,” which came across as dismissive, almost as if we had done something wrong. I showed her that the cup was soggy at the bottom, and she eventually offered a refund and to double-cup a new coffee. While I appreciate the refund, the experience was frustrating and disappointing. I know Starbucks recently switched from plastic-lined cups to new paper-style cups, but they are clearly not holding up. Customers shouldn’t have to worry about their drinks leaking and ruining clothes while simply walking around. I hope Starbucks reconsiders the cup quality, and I also hope the customer service response in these situations can be more empathetic.

1/2/2023: The coffee at this Starbucks is on par with the usual standard, and the ambiance maintains that familiar feel. However, the customer service aspect left much to be desired. Our initial encounter with the cashier was marred by agitation, as he loudly declared that each coffee would take an extensive 20 minutes to be prepared. To compound matters, the "Team Leader" figure in charge was incessantly shouting at customers, instructing them to vacate the premises. What was particularly concerning was the leader’s approach to non-English speakers. Instead of employing effective communication, she resorted to even louder yelling, as if volume alone would bridge the language barrier. This not only created an uncomfortable atmosphere but also raised questions about the staff's ability to handle diverse customer interactions with tact and understanding. In essence, while the coffee and ambiance aligned with expectations, the overall experience was marred by the lackluster and unpleasant customer service encountered from the moment of entry.
They look like a Starbucks, but they will not take the app for payment (although the locations inside the park will), they can't seem to keep any food items for purchase, there is no indoor seating, and they are extremely slow getting people through the line. At least once you actually get to place your order (less all the food items they don't have) it comes up fast. Skip this place. Stop at a real Starbucks before you get to Universal, or wait and go to the one inside the park.
This is in regards citywalks Starbucks, this picture should tell you all I'm not usually not one to complain online but this isn't the first time this happens to me in this location... not only did they get my drink wrong they charged me extra and refused to fix the drink the only thing they asked is if I wanted to swap the drizzle I'm a barista myself so it is incredibly upsetting at the fact that these "sister's" couldn't get a simple drink right... I can see why many of our guest come inside our themeparks Starbucks upset with their drinks.. step your game up citywalk and train your baristas better...
Service was terrible, especially an employee named alejandra was so rude, and kept giving everyone dirty looks worst starbucks ive ever been too in my life i would recommend new staff at this point taking my business toDUTCH BROS
Worst starbucks experience i’ve ever had was at starbucks city walk. The staff didn’t know their way around, slow service, ordered 3 drinks and a snack and we received just 1 drink. When we approached the barista she told us that what we’ve ordered ( cold brew ) was out and they didn’t even bother to inform us.
The associate that helped us was so rude! She seemed annoyed for just being there... I understand it's not the most pleasant job, but why give customers attitude. Her name was Gigi and she talked to people like they were peasants....
Pathetic service, awful service. One hour wait for 2 coffees. First you purchase express tickets to the venue so you can complete all the rides in a day and Starbucks universal makes you wait an hour long for couple of coffees. Nothing express about the service only distress.
Literally go anywhere else if you can for your latte. There are plenty of other spots to get a good coffee. I paid $9 for a COLD BREW. Insane. Don’t go here - workers are rude as well and not helpful whatsoever lol
Long slow lines and no option for mobile order. When I arrived the sign on the door said cash only because the card machine was down then after long wait they announced the espresso machine had broken so no lattes or anything else that needed hot milk. So no Chai tea latte for me. Half of the counter stay looked thrilled to be there but there was one kid who looked for people like me who were puzzled with the issues and while he couldn't fix it he at least acknowledged the problem we had.
bunch of staff behind the counter but only 1 cashier. he was the slowest cashier ever. it took forever to get to him. when i did he said there's no brewed coffee. why are the staff/management so incompetent they cant put a sign on the door or somewhere saying that their coffee shop can't serve coffee.
Worse customer service. They treated me so rudely today...and I had my heart set on a fresh cup of Starbucks. One barista even walked away and pretended to be busy - while another refused to serve me, ONLY when she noticed that the first cashier was pretending to be busy did she finally relent.
Had a horrible experience here today. Waited for a while, had to repeat my order to the cashier several times, and she still forgot to put coconut milk in my order (have a dairy allergy) and I had to remind her AGAIN. Then, while I was waiting for my drink, I heard the girl making my drink complain about how SHE HAD TO CLEAN A BLENDER BECAUSE SOMEONE HAD A DAIRY ALLERGY. I was half tempted to just walk out. As a customer, I should NOT feel like a problem because of my food allergy.
Absolutely the worst Starbucks experience i have ever had. I would give this location a negative one if I could. You can not use your reward points, they ran out of breakfast sandwiches. I ordered my sandwich 4 freakin times, they kept saying we are out of that sandwich. Then on top of that I had to wait a long time for my order, Just so they can tell me they were out of that particular sandwhich. Thanks for the wonderful start to my day at Universal Studios!
They don't even deserve the one star that I am privileging them with. I usually order bread with my drink and every employee always asks me if I would like to have it heated I say yes. It is warmed like it was just made isn't that what you are suposed to feel when you order from Starbucks. I was not asked that here and I assumed it was because they were busy and he would be considerate enough to just go ahead and heat up my bread. NO! It was hard and felt stale when asked to heat it up a bit he came back with the excuse that the icing on the bread would taste nasty. Not what I asked and just didn't do what the customer asked. The bread felt stale and I just threw it away and wasted my money. But it's okay because a snoty kid decided to say it would taste nast when icing taste just fine when heated up. No stars for this kid.
The amount of negative reviews is VERY telling. The Starbucks at Citywalk is absolutely atrocious! Terrible customer service, made my drink wrong, just an all around badly ran location. The little Mexican dude taking the order should NOT be working up front, he cant even get a SIMPLE iced Americano down correctly. The Starbucks inside the universal studios theme park is not that much better, but I would give it an extra star, so 2/5 for them.
This is a constructive criticism rating. I am very disappointed at the service provided to me, a paying guest. I began my order one caramel brulee Venti and 1 kids vanilla warm drink. I instantly received the vanilla drink, I waited 10 minutes for my caramel brulee. When I asked about my drink a employee named Maria asked me for my receipt. I politely told her, I said no to the receipt as I am accustomed to Starbucks asking if I want it or not. She basically interrogated me as if I were trying to score a free coffee. With the unkindest face I finally received my coffee 30 minutes later. Really? Thanks Maria for wasting 30 minutes of my time with my son at Universal Studios. 👍 PS THE KID TEMPERATURE DRINK BURNED MY SON'S MOUTH!
I asked for my usual drink and they didnt put syrup i was like its okay ill just ask for some instead if getting some they tried arguing with me saying they added 9 pumps when my drink only has 7 he didnt even know how to make it. I had to go and ask the cashier for some when all he had to do was add the damn syrup -.-
Don’t order food, we waited 40 minutes and then gave up! We also had to reorder another Mocha that was left off the order. No one apologised and seemed to care. Is this really Starbucks??
Worst Starbucks ever. The nice thing about Starbucks is the consistency. Like McDonalds, they don’t make the best product in their category, but the product is pretty much the same regardless of the store. Not the case here. Worst mocha ever. And the remake was just as bad. But, given the lack of options, went back the next day. Still bad with a different barista. Do they get training here? Plus, I asked for two small kids milks. Shocked kids 6oz of milk was $2.65. If you’re going to Universal Studios, get Starbucks in the park. Not sure it’s any better. But can’t be any worse.
The Strawberry Matcha tastes like alfalfa. I could only stomach the top foam. It's $7 for it, so money wasted and good mood destroyed.
We were having a great time at Universals. The rides were perfect, all staff everywhere is so friendly, the vibes were fantastic. And then just before leaving we decided to drop to this Starbucks because it was just so conveniently located. That was a big mistake. First of all, always huge line here. Lots of time wasted. It’s hard to find free seats. Second, even after I ordered I had to wait about 30 minutes for my one cup of coffee. 30 minutes (!) for a cup of coffee. It turns out, they lost my order! I reminded them, they said it’s coming and ... more waiting! We came here today at 10.30am and left only at 11.40. More than an hour wasted just for a cup of coffee. People who were behind me got their ordered long time ago, but I still kept waiting. Don’t waste your time, this cup of coffee is not worth it. Go for any other place but stay away from this particular Starbucks. We’ve been here several times and it’s not first time they screw up. They’ve earned their reputation.
They don't scan the app. 50% upcharge for mugs without a pass, and they started ripping off price tags after I pointed out the discrepancy. Terrible experience.

Coffee was very bad, and tasted pure sugar, never going back. I don’t know why they make the drink so flavorless
Worst Starbucks ever. We threw our drinks away. Espresso burnt and barely any cold foam. Clumps of powder in the drink. Wth, Starbucks?
Rudest Starbucks ever ! I went 3/8/2025 at 2:20- 2:30pm the person on the register was standing there talking to a city walk employee for at least 5 min. This group of kids in front of me were patiently waiting. Not me, I asked my question and left. I didn't want to wait another 5mins just for the barista to answer my question with the rudest attitude because she was in the middle of a conversation.
Sunday morning before Parks open 7 employees stay and do nothing Only one cashier working
Google listing says they close at 10pm, the sign outside the door said they close at 9:30, but they were locking the doors when I got there at 9pm. I work unusual hours at universal when even the staff meal options aren’t available and we took our break based on the time things were supposed to close. I passed by on my way to another place and noticed that it said 9:30, so I figured if I got to the other place too late, I’d still be able to come back here and get something. The other place turned me away at 8:56 and when I got back to Starbucks they were locking up 30m before the sign posted on the door and an hour before the google listing. Today has been brutal with the heatwave and I just wanted a cold refreshing drink to get me through the rest of my shift. The false hope of that sign made the letdown way more frustrating 😩
Horrible customer service, repeated errors with making drinks (e.g made caffeinated instead of decaf). Major attitude and disrespect when asking for drinks to be fixed. Starbucks is a dead company and clearly can’t find good talent anymore. Better to drink a glass of water than wage your money on their overpriced, unhealthy drinks.
It's very obvious why the rates are low , even me kind of customer got disappointed and got mad . "What do you want " to a costumer? Another one offered straws i was just 1 second late to answer she put them back and told me grab it over there. Those rates will go down and down and good working employees will get effected because of grumpy ones .
