Awesome service and great food. Came on Valentine's day with a reservation and our table was ready right away. Our server was a cool and easy to talk to dude who made sure we had everything we needed. Food was also excellent and we had no room for desert. Been here before multiple times for Birthdays or Anniversarys and the experience is always the same, awesome place.

First of all, this place is a steakhouse and oh boy, can they make a steak! I have had the privilege to eat and several top notch steak restaurants but none can out do the Sycamore Inn! This historic place started as an inn in 1848 and has evolved to be the premier steak restaurant in Southern California. It out does Flemmings, Duane's, Ruth Chris, and more. You will enjoy the best steak ever in a classic, retro-elegant setting with excellent staff discreetly rushing by to run out Devine meals. Do have the ribeye, the peppercorn steak or the prime rib. You will be sorry if you miss out on the sides (au gratin is to die for). The desserts are good but not the main draw. Be prepared to sit back and relax, quality takes time.

A place that takes you back to Hollywood days of steakhouse lounges. Great fireplace on a June gloom night. Service is attentive and friendly. Smoky Manhattan is fun cocktail presentation. The fresh made rolls are so yummy. So much history that you just feel in the atmosphere. Love their happy hour offerings which originally got our attention.

I had not been in years, but decided this might be a very perfect romantic spot for a Valentine's dinner. I wasn't disappointed. We had an ideal booth across from the historic stone fireplace and wonderfully unlike so many modern restaurants, this place was nice and pleasantly quiet enough to hear my own conversation with my loved one! I was a bit disappointed by the very edited menu, (i had my heart set on Barumundi) but the food was still delicious.

Went with a neighbor who suggested this place. Incredible history. Check out the website for that. High end food that was delicious. Drinks were poured nice and stiff without being too much. Atmosphere was a bit dark, lighting wise but the service was incredible.

Appetizers are incredible! Food is excellent! Cocktails are exceptional! Definitely recommend Sycamore Inn to others. Call for dining reservation.

We celebrated my Mom’s 96th birthday with a great supper at the Inn. Every entree from the filet mignon, prime rib and the peppercorn New York strip was prepared to perfection. We have eaten there many times over the years and have never been disappointed. John our waiter was informative, friendly and professional. Thanks again for the great dinning experience!!

First time going there tonight. Food was hot, fresh, flavorful and delicious! We went early enough for prime time menu prices so the bill wasn't too bad. We will definitely return in the future!

The filet mignon and prime rib were very high quality, rivaling any fancy Westside steakhouse! Lobster Mac was delicious, lots of chunks of lobster. Creme brulee and death by chocolate were to die for, hahaha.

This place is a Geme! The food was great, and so was the service. Our waiter was very attentive to our group of 12. The last time I ate here, I was in high school. It's nice to see it hasn't lost in hospitality.

One of the best restaurants in the area featuring a premium bar program with a great happy hour. This review will cover the drinks a d I will update after I've had a chance to document the food. First off all of the bitters and shrubs are made in house which is very impressive. They have an excellent selection of high-end whiskeys. And the bartenders are very helpful and create some amazing cocktails. The bar area is very nice, dimly lit, with a very intimate setting. There's also a nice patio area and seating.

This was my first time visiting The Sycamore Inn, and it was amazing. The employees were warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was great. I would definitely recommend coming here for a special occasion or just because. It's worth every penny.

Took my wife last night to celebrate our anniversary and I am happy to say that it was a great decision. I was able to book a reservation ahead of time, walked in and was immediately seated. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. Our waiter, John was helpful in sharing information about the dishes and offering opinions on each. I got the Chilean Sea Bass and it is one of the best things I have ever tasted. My wife got the ribeye and it was prepared perfectly. For sides we got the blue cheese/bacon mashed potatoes, roasted Brussel sprouts, caramelized onion soup and Caesar salad. Whoever they have in the kitchen is worth their weight in gold, because everything was prepared perfectly! I didn’t even consider using the salt and pepper…didn’t need to! You will pay a bit, but you get what you pay for. Our drinks were never empty and the dining room is absolutely spotless!

The atmosphere was good, the service was great. But the 22oz rib-eye steak was the star of the show. I had it cooked medium-rare; it was perfect. Plus, the freshly baked sourdough rolls and Cajun shrimp were also good.

Delicious! Delicious! Delicious! Amazing Happy Hour, Cocktails, Prime Rib, and Service! Every time I come here their food is top notch. After ordering a soufflé at The Cannery in Newport Beach and it tasting like a 3 day old brownie with ice cream on top, my sister brought me here and my eyes and tastebuds were opened to the yummiest, made to order, soufflé. Definitely worthy of a car ride from South OC. Thank you for raising the bar to fine dining and food excellence. Oh, and the best blueberry old fashion around. We’ll be back!

Beautifully aged, upscale steakhouse. Prime rib was seasoned/cooked perfect and the lobster tail was good sized for being an add-on. Finished with crème brûlée and cheesecake for our table. Service was a little slow, but they had a full house tonight (even diners out on the patio deck). Will definitely be back.

Outstanding experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and exactly as ordered. My waiter, Ryan P, was second to none: attentive without being overbearing, incredibly knowledgeable, and genuinely warm. This place sets the bar for what a great steakhouse should be.

Forget Maestro's and Ruth's. This place serves prime steaks too, but with a much better location and setting, without the pompous attitude. Cool spot for happy hour too.

The staff went above and beyond for my family on Mother’s Day! I had made reservations for two and last minute found out that my active duty son who is in the Marine Corps was going to show up to surprise my mother who hadn’t seen him in a year! From Izzy? To Toki, they were wonderful and got a call the night before that I could add another person so I called my brother and my mom was over the moon with us being there with her!! So polite and professional! Brunch was absolutely amazing And the staff was incredible!! We definitely will be back next year!!

Historical icon, awesome prime rib, great appetizers, sides, and desserts. I sat at the same table Marilyn Monroe sat at with her husband. (See photos) Not photographed: sauteed mushrooms, sauteed spinach, potatoes au gratin, bread pudding, creme brulee. All were excellent.

This Steakhouse has been around since 1948. I always knew of it, but first time eating there, taken by family for my birthday. Atmosphere is dark, but beautiful. Service was the best, as well as the food, which is priced separately. Alcoholic drinks were amazing. Extremely busy this Saturday, making parking lot almost full. Worth going to at least once. I was given a delicious birthday chocolate ice cream desert.

Open since 1848, this is among the best steak houses I have ever been to. I got an old fashioned, a dozen raw oysters, the 10 oz prime rib with creamed spinach and potatoes, and a creme Brulee for right at 100 dollars. I highly recommend thos place. It is really good.

M

Wow! I just love real steakhouses! Great wine selection, martinis and oysters were fantastic. Prime rib was excellent. You have to pay for side dishes, but well worth it. It isn’t inexpensive but good food and good wine never is.

We have been going to the Sycamore for many years and love this place. It is a little spendy if you are eating at the restaurant, but we always hit the small bites happy hour in the bar area. Appetizers are reasonably priced and you can't beat the 1/2 off drinks and wine. Don't forget to order a Souffle!

Was here for our Christmas company party. We were in a private room in the basement. Everything was delicious and service was great! It was a buffet with scalloped potatoes, chicken breast, beef kabobs, zucchini/veggies, and cheesecake for dessert! The room, itself had a giant fireplace and like 4 Christmas trees.

I am pretty sure those bad reviews are from entitled people who thought they were in Beverly Hills. I am a visitor to this town and stopped in based on a recommendation. Everything was amazing, from the service to the quality of the food. Amazing ribeye and great old fashioned. Food was brought in a timely manner and was cooked to perfection. If you want a steak in 10 minutes, I heard outback steakhouse may do. Very reasonably priced. Definitely will return!

Such a neat experience. This place dates back to the mid-1800s. If you're a history buff like me and love a good steak, you must go. Upscale and pricey good for a quiet date night. I do not recommend bringing your children they have real candles lit, and inside is very moody and dark, but if you do, they have patio seating. extensive cocktail and wine selection, although I didn't partake. ( Make a reservation!)

I visited this place for the first time without a reservation. At first they made it a big deal but my wife gave some push back and they got us a spot. They had a wine tasting event. We didn't do that. I had the porter house steak and my wife had the Chilean seabass. The food was great and the drinks were also on point. I don't think we fit the demographic??? Anyway I had just returned from a long business trip from back east so was looking a little tired. The food was good enough to try again.

I really enjoyed my birthday dinner here. High quality steak, good liquor and delicious dessert. Skip the side dishes and get a hunk of beef, a salad , order a stiff drink and the chocolate souffle for dessert! The service was excellent too. Reservation recommended

My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday and grabbed seats at the bar. The bartender recommended an extra dry gin for our martinis and nailed it—they were made to absolute perfection. It’s honestly the best martini I’ve ever had, and one was definitely enough. We also ordered fresh oysters, which were a 10/10 and the perfect pairing with our drinks. The vibe is warm and welcoming, happy hour is fantastic, and the entire staff is super friendly. This just might be my new favorite spot.

How could you not support a place like this with so much history? We so need to support unique, small businesses. I had not been there in years, but stopped in last night. The ambience was so cool. The manager, David, shared a lot of the folklore of the Sycamore Inn. A brothel at one time! Once you walk in, you feel the history. David went above and beyond, showing me one of the unique little rooms that can be rented out for a party of approximately 20 or so people. He also told us that it is rumored that the upstairs is haunted. Have a meal and/or a happy hour cocktail at this historic restaurant. Their house Old Fashioned was delicious & packed quite a punch. You won’t regret it and you can thank me later🙂.

I had one of the most memorable (in the good way) experiences at this restaurant, and I have to say the majority of that was just the staff. I placed a reservation for our anniversary through opentable at the last minute after our plans had fallen through. We got lucky in that they were just opening and it was not a super busy time so we secured an immediate reservation. We both (the wife and myself) have always wanted to try this place. We would both see it as we grew up in the area, but never got a chance to go. I had done some amateur research into the Pomona valley history a decade or so back...including Billy rubottom and this very restaurant, so I was pretty excited on multiple levels. Steak plus nerdy historical facts? Yes please! We were seated at an intimate table and our server was just outstanding. I reached out to management to try and get their name and if so I will update it to give them their kudos. I feel I failed them by not remembering their names. Our server and wait staff kept our drinks full and our table kept from the moment we sat down. I relied on our server as a sommelier and cocktail guru, a beef sherpa, and as a welcome third member to our special evening. When my wife had asked for the seasonal cocktail offerings, he surprised her with a special drink that she loved. When we placed orders for our meals (my wife enjoyed the filet mignon while I hammered down on some tasty new york strip) he made recommendations for a pepper sauce for her and bleu cheese for mine...as if he knew our tastes. I even relied on him for the wine I would pair (my meal went excellent with their zinfandel). He did an excellent job at gauging our comfort level and style of conversation and matched seamlessly with our sensibilities. At the end of the meal, the staff surprised us with a slice of cheesecake and a candle...a beautiful and unexpected touch to the end of a wonderful meal and experience. It was something that touched me deeply and if I weren't so damned awkward I would have done something to let them know when I was there. Well...reviews are the next best thing I guess. I would highly recommend this place. We both plan on returning here (once my wallet recovers). I cannot thank the staff enough. While I recognize we got lucky with the timing and reservation, the evening had all of the ingredients to go off the rails and Sycamore Inn was there to guide things back not only onto the track, but it is now one of our best nights out.

Everything was amazing, simply put our company loved it. I am absolutely distraught however over the fact that their hot butter rum drinks don't seem to be offered anymore. As a widower, this drink used to offer me great comfort after my imaginary wife's death. Sad 😞

This place is great. Not your typical steakhouse chain. The ambience and style is reflective of its history. The prime rib is delicious. I ordered it medium rare plus and it came out perfect. Not many places can do a good prime rib. The sides were yummy and didn't make it around the table a second time. Come here for a classic steakhouse vibe.

I got married on my late brother’s first birthday in heaven… and this place was just really amazing and kind! We had dinner here with a party of 10 (including 2 little boys, 3 and 1 years old) after the wedding. The staff were considerate and the food was phenomenal, especially the steak, the jdori chicken, and the Brussels sprouts! They were so good with my kids! They even wished my brother happy birthday 🥹 gosh that was meaningful. Thank you for an amazing dinner to celebrate and mourn with my family in a beautiful and supportive setting.

First time to this restaurant , outside looks a little worn but the inside looks amazing. Food was great, I am really picky about my Cesar salad, so I always have to order an extra lemon, it adds the extra yummy if you feel like your salad isn’t tasting right, add a touch of lemon, what a difference . Will come come back. Bar tender really works to make you the perfect drink

Celebrated a big milestone birthday at the Sycamore Inn! When I called to make the reservation, I asked if they could add a “Happy 60th Birthday Gary” to the marquee out front, and they did! This made for such a sweet surprise as we drove in! Friends arrived first and decorated the table with 60th balloons and the entire evening was a success! Thank you to our amazing waiter and the staff for making this memorable night !

First time here to celebrate several special occasions. Came in on a Saturday night at 5pm with a reservation and had no wait at all. Vanessa M was our server. I would be lying if I said that she was good, because honestly, she was the best. Every staff member we had the pleasure of being assisted by were all beyond helpful and kind. Even when my medium-MW done NY Strip came out well well done, they remade it to perfection, the manager came over to talk to us, offered 2 desserts, asked if he could get us anything else (we declined because we didn’t need anything else), and even when we thought that was beyond generous, they took off $30 off the steak. So when I saw exceptional service, I absolutely mean it. I tried to eat the well done steak with lemons and A1- which I normally eat steak alone because it should be flavorful with it’s own juices, since this was overcooked it needed backup 😆 but thankful they remade it for me! The mashed potatoes were so creamy and delicious. The bread and sundried tomato butter were so good!! The Caesar salad was probably one of the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot 😂😂 my husband loved the oysters and the sauces it came with. His blue cheese crusted NY Strip was cooked to perfect and enough for 2 servings. So flavorful!! The building itself is older, inside and out, but is nice. Just be sure to ask for a table not right outside the bathroom doors 😅 This was our first time but we will definitely be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Sycamore Inn and I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, with a charming rustic decor that added to the overall dining experience. The restaurant was also impeccably clean and well-maintained. The service was exceptional, with attentive and friendly staff who were knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The food itself was outstanding - from the appetizers to the main course, everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The wine selection was also impressive, with a variety of options to complement each dish. The Sycamore Inn truly exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be returning in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

Our mains were all very good, and the a la carte sides were too. Our server was friendly, attentive and considerate. The only thing I wonder about is the restaurant is in terrible shape inside, worn and shabby. I can't imagine that it's unaffordable to fix it up a little, especially considering how much they charge.

New Foodie alert! I'm happy to report an excellent happy hour experience. I ordered roasted garlic, tuna ahi and a long Island ice drink. Our server was the best. I don’t usually eat steak however my buddy insisted. The prime rib was thin sliced and had flavor. I always appreciate when meat is juicy so I give them kudos for a good cut. Also had a glass of wine and avocado mash. It’s great for happy hour so I highly recommend making in to have a good meal that won’t break the bank. Overall we spent about $100 plus tip. The thing about food is you get what you pay for so don’t cheap yourself out. Have a good meal.

Everything was great except for the fact I booked a reservation after looking at the menu online. When we got to the restaurant the menu we were given was double the prices of the menu we saw online. I wish we would have been told by someone that there was going to be a major price change. Our reservations were at 7pm and I thought we would be presented with the menu I saw online. This was the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. I am kind of upset and felt obligated to just order off the menu I was given and did not know any better since it was my first time here.

My only critique is the servers needing some more experience :-) they were all friendly and kind but not available when needed and we were left with wrong silverware and spilled water glass. Nevertheless, this is a great spot and you should try at least once!

Really good time, the food is good and the service is amazing. They pour the drinks stiff and the ambiance is what you expect from a inland empire institution. Will be back, great for professional dinners or just a nice but not to nice meal out.

Local historic gem with delicious food, impressive wine list, and unique craft cocktails! The warm atmosphere inside has been kept authentic and preserved much of its history. Definitely a MUST when on the Route 66!

This visit the food was prefect. We had the bone in rib eye that came out amazing. It came with some delicious mashed potatoes and asparagus that were amazing. We also had the oysters on the half shell that were just tasty and also the calamari. I recommend the calamari.

Out second waiter was amazing, the head waiter sucked, made the 2nd dude do all the work. Great food , great place. Horrible parking for a huge lot, but that just might be California.

I enjoy it here. The service is very good. I'm a little picky about the food because actually, my wife cooks better than about anywhere I EVER eat, no matter what the price. Their prices are fairly decent, and it's a pretty comfortable environment. I think they might want to sink a little money into their chairs that are getting a little saggy and beat up for my taste. That always seems to be a complaint I have with a lot of places. I know it's expensive to upkeep everything, but considering it's longstanding reputation and not cheap prices, I think they need to possibly step up on that situation. But it's a pretty cool place. Has a nice feel to it. The offers some pretty great souffles. The cheesecake needs to step it up. I am a connoisseur of such.. They definitely need to find a new distributor on that! But they have a lot of good stuff to eat over there. You don't have to dress too, too fancy to fit in. Check it out!

Sycamore Inn – A Vintage Vibe with Delicious Bites Step into Sycamore Inn, and you’re instantly transported to a cozy, vintage hideaway. The mood here is set by the dim lighting and elegant Tiffany lamps, giving the space a nostalgic yet sophisticated charm that’s perfect for winding down after a long day. I came in for happy hour, and I’ve got to say, the steak salad was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and topped with just the right mix of fresh ingredients. But what truly stole the show were the oysters. They were buttery, delicate, and packed with freshness, making them an absolute must-try. The service here is also top-notch—attentive without being overbearing, which always makes for a more relaxing experience. If you're in the mood for great food, drinks, and a place with a laid-back yet moody atmosphere, Sycamore Inn is definitely worth a visit. Whether you’re here for happy hour or a casual evening out, it’s a spot that never disappoints.

My wife and I visited this steakhouse yesterday 12/12/2022. Celebrating an anniversary. The ambient and decor was very nice, service was good, not great, due to the extreme long wait for our main dish. We ordered the calamari and the crab cakes as a starter. The calamari was a bit dry, but good. Crab Cakes were pretty good, cannot compare, because we’ve never had crab cakes before. I did have to return the onion soup due to it being very salty, wish the server agreed with me. I ordered the pepper stake and again, very salty. I did manage to eat a third of it and brought the rest home. My wife ordered the prime rib and said it was delicious. So was the lobster tail. Unfortunately it took way too long to get out main course, the saltiness of the soup and pepper steak kinda ruined the whole experience. The dessert was also very good. So were the adult drinks. So here’s the question, would we go back or recommend it to someone ? My wife and I say, most likely not. We both agreed that we should stick to Ruth’s Chris. We’ve never, ever had a bad experience there. Let me say that our servers were very attentive and I don’t believe it’s their fault, that our food took so long.

Food was delicious, however way over priced. Your meat is one price. Then you have to pay for sides separately. Grant it the sides are big enough to share for 2 or 3 people depending on ones appetite. I asked for a fun smokey drink and they didn't do a cute show, they brought the cup already smoking then you open the lid and they poured the Manhattan from another cup with an orange peel for 🤔 Jumbo artichoke (messy because you peel the flower and eat the insides and leave the leaf) Rack of lamb - perfect Sea bass - perfect Filet mignon - i asked for medium rare and it was dry even with some red on the inside) Mash potatoes ⭐ Baked potato ⭐ Asparagus ⭐ Dessert was very good. It was my son's birthday and they just brought him a fancy cake slice with a lite candle, no buya. You know we all like the buya! Service was fair. They had 1 additional person helping. Btw the outside is beautifully lite for pictures. 3 of us for $370

Handicap access is very poorly marked, so it took forever to find out how to enter. The place was very busy and the service was slow. The staff was great when they were there, but it took over 2 hours for dinner to arrive after our reservation time. The food was good but our ribeyes were overcooked. Sides and everything else was great especially the caramelized onion soup. Ajus for the prime rib was fantastic.

Food was ok. We got the Prime Rib and Peppercorn steak. I assumed since the place is rundown that the food would compensate, but not so much. Interior is drab and I could feel the floor creaking below me walking to our table. Overpriced sides that don’t have much flavor. Service is excellent though and staff is professional. Drinks are watered down, couldn’t see myself spending another 15 dollars on a second drink. This place has a great reputation in the community so I am sorry for not posting a 5 star review.

Mother’s Day Brunch was disappointing. The table we reserved wasn’t available, so we sat in the heat outside under the tent that had no overhead fans. Our server was pleasant and attentive. The setup of the buffet inside was cramped, dark, and unorganized. I would have liked the food trays labeled as I had no idea what was being offered; the food itself was fine. I will not be returning for a brunch at Sycamore Inn.

The rolls were hard as a rock, the baked potato was hardly cooked at all. The last time I was here, it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Anywhere things have definitely changed here over the last few years.

We’ve been coming here all our lives (37 years) and every year it seems to keep going down hill unfortunately. Food remains pretty solid but the bar seems to have been takin over my chillis and is pushing out very average lackluster drinks. Maybe they’d be okay if you were drunk, but not with 20 dollars. Soufflé is hands down best thing here though. Amazing

I made a reservation for my husband’s 50th birthday. We checked in and had to wait a bit, there were groups that checked in after us and were seated.someone checked in and asked if we had been helped to which I said yes. As we waited in front of the check in Daniel, Fatima and another young lady were speaking about us. There were 2 empty tables that we could see so I asked if we could just sit and wait. They let me know that the section had just been sat with 2 large parties and they did not want to stress out the server. Mind you it’s holiday so it was busy.. They said I can find a space outside to wait, that is where I felt the level of service drop. I asked why we couldn’t just sit and wait versus stand and block the way. I decided to wait at the bar with my husband and daughter 2 feet away Daniel immediately said she can’t sit there she’s not 21 and in a condescending tone said we will seat you at the table. I said I understand there will be a wait and this was not the best start to my husband’s celebration, I asked his name he did not apologize nor acknowledge that we had been waiting. Fatima walked us to our table and I had to ask again why there was such an Issue if we were willing to wait. John saved the day as far as our server goes and honestly I felt like I had to explain to every server that we knew we had to wait and it’s ok if we are ignored while they prioritize the big parties around us. Overall just not the level of service I would expect here from the front of house.

This was our 2nd time here, and I do wish the experience this time was as good as the last time. I don't know if our waitress had too many tables or if the long wait times were specific to that night. It was an hour and a half, at the table before our food started making its way to the table. There were times when drinks were empty for over 30 minutes. It was disheartening since we spoke so highly of our last experience (Eddie was our server then), we brought our family the 2nd time. While no one at the table said it, we could see that everyone was getting anxious waiting. I'm not sure if it was just a bad night, but when you're paying for a high-end meal, I guess I expect better service.

The Sycamore Inn is an old school steak place, but prices are far from it. The food was cooked well and looked good when brought out, but taste wise, it lacked that richness steakhouses are known for ...and in some cases, the food simply lacked salt. The ambiance was fine, but felt a bit crowded and the staff seemed frustrated while tending to our table. With prices being as high as they are, I expected much much more. $17.50 for an artichoke? That about summarizes the experience. 😒

Not impressed by the food, service was great though. Very polite and attentive. I ordered the artichoke and that should've been a sign to get out it was way over cooked and mushy my husband order a soup and he said it was like warm I order a salad and steak medium rare it was more on the raw side ugh so we decided not to order anything else we've had enough. Drinks were good.

Fine dining 🤣🤣🤣 average 80$ a person & I had to ask for more bread, asked for refill drinks. I shouldn't have to ask for anything. Arrived for a 5:15 reservation. 2nd half of our party was late arrived at 530. Was nearly 6 before our order was taken & 40 minutes to get our food. I requested the bill & it took 15 minutes to get it. Our take home was put into cardboard boxes, which, okay fine but if you have sauce, what should be done with it? A container maybe?? Hmm? No, lets just let it soak into the cardboard? I mean really? Atmosphere... decor is from the 60s or 70s maybe which can be charming but wrinkles in the carpet & creaking floor boards, you're just simply not taking care of the place. Never again.

Probably the worst experience I’ve EVER had at a “nice” dinner. Took my father-in law and family here for 85th birthday celebration. Slowest worst service and food was awful. Not one person in our party of 10 had one good thing to say about their food. I get service can be slow but to have the food bad too was just unacceptable. I sent my way undercooked steak back and they took it up by bar and came back with same undercooked cold steak. They don’t even attempt to re-cook it. The only acceptable thing we ate was the bread. All around horrible meal. There was absolutely NOTHING that was even mediocre about our evening. Huge disappointment - and will never return.

Another and the last disappointment walking into the restaurant at 4:30 pm to sit at the bar. Over and over we have tried to sit and enjoy the food and drinks at The Sycamore Inn bar. Today at 4:30 as we walked in all of the seats were empty but “taken” per the host with the iPad. Apparently if you are not part of the regular crowd you have to wait until that daily crowd exits and the bar is once again for the commoners. The host heard my complaint and went on to tell me how the “regulars” have the cell numbers of the bar tenders and reserve spots. There are so many things wrong with this practice at a local family establishment. Sitting at a local bar at happy hour should be open to ALL. We walked away shaking our heads once again and will spend our money elsewhere.

I had wanted to go here for years.....I hate to say it but the experience was just bad. Not only did the service take forever. First drink order wasn't for 30 minutes...food not until an hour and a half. And the food was lackluster at best. The steak was passable.....which is awful to say for the cost of a ribeye there. And I didn't know au gratin could be flavorless. Overall the trip took 3 hours. Massive let down.

These are disappointing quality of food and service. Today is my birthday and my wife worked really hard to surprise me with the dinner. We have to wait for at least 30 minutes for our food to be serve after ordering it, I timed it because I was watching video with my toddler. The steak was luke warm when they served it to us and the heated plates are cold. I ordered medium rare and they gave me extra rare. When we asked for the box to go, the waitress did not bring the boxed food out after 20 minutes later. Horribad dinner birthday.

I have multiple quibbles with my experience at the Sycamore Inn. For starters, getting service after the food is served for refills is neigh impossible; we waited ~20 minutes to get refills on our drinks. Second, the steaks were disappointing, particularly the ribeye. We had ordered a pair of these steaks, but one of the steaks consisted more of fat than actual meat. For a place charging over $60 per steak, this seems insane. When we asked for refills, the waiter tried to hustle us (despite being halfway through the meal) by asking us if we'd like to package up our dinners. I'm actually writing this review as I sit in the restaurant now, and we are still awaiting the delivery of our refills. Will they arrive? Probably not. Once we get the check (and who knows how long that'll be), we will be leaving with no intention of returning. Update: They finally brought refills… with the wrong drinks. Food was ice cold by then. Awaiting the check, but that hasn’t arrived, either.

My husband and I went to dinner for our 41st anniversary on November 9, 2025. We had never been here so we thought it would be a special dinner. The food was ok and the server Ed L was terrible. He never came back to see if we needed anything and totally ignored us. He spoke to other couples around us but did not speak to us. I asked him to take a photo of us at our table and he "pretended " to take a photo. He never did. It did not feel comfortable and I will never return. I just spoke to the manager this evening to voice my complaint and he did not seem to care either. Not a very friendly place. I would not recommend and it is very expensive for what you get. If you are not a regular they seem to ignore you. That is not good service.

Been coming here for years and incredibly disappointed to learn today they devalued their Prime Time Happy Hour. Appetizers are no longer part of it, and I will be coming a lot less now. I used to love to get an appetizer or two and a drink. No more. Greed wins again.

Valentine’s Day Dinner Review – Extremely Disappointing Experience My partner and I were excited to try Sycamore Inn for the first time on Valentine’s Day, hoping for a special and memorable evening. Unfortunately, the experience fell far below expectations, especially given the restaurant’s reputation and pricing. When we arrived, we were greeted politely and seated immediately, which we appreciated. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with dim lighting and an elegant atmosphere that initially gave us high hopes for the evening. However, the service quickly began to decline. We sat for approximately 10 minutes before anyone offered us drinks. The staff appeared overwhelmed and disorganized. We were informed that there was only a pre-selected Valentine’s Day menu, which offered very limited options. While I understand special menus are common on holidays, the lack of variety was disappointing. When the waiter asked if we wanted an appetizer, I politely declined. His response was a blunt “OK,” delivered in a rude tone, before abruptly walking away. This interaction immediately made us feel unwelcome. We were served water that had an unpleasant taste, similar to unfiltered tap water, which was surprising for a restaurant of this caliber. We ordered the New York steak, priced at $65 per person, and requested it cooked medium. When the food arrived, the presentation was unappealing, and the steaks were extremely dry and overcooked. For that price point, we expected a high-quality cut of meat prepared properly, but the steak was disappointing both in appearance and taste. We also ordered a salad, which unfortunately was equally unpleasant and lacked freshness. What made matters worse was the behavior of the staff. When our food was delivered, the individual assisting the waiter tossed the butter container across the table instead of placing it properly. We were shocked by the lack of professionalism and care. It felt disrespectful and careless, especially during what was supposed to be a special occasion. Overall, the food quality was poor, the service was unprofessional, and the experience did not justify the extremely high price. Valentine’s Day is meant to be a memorable and enjoyable evening, but instead, it was frustrating and disappointing. Sadly, based on this experience, I will not be returning to Sycamore Inn, nor would I recommend it to others expecting quality food and professional service.
