Great place to stay

Nice place! Chinchorros were very comfortable, food was good. The locker situation could be better.. it was a single room with open cubbies where people were going in and out to grab their things. We had planned to leave the hostel at 5am after sleeping in the hammocks on the beach, but found that the front gate to the hostel was locked and not being monitored. I was really glad I held my pee in the middle of the night because it would’ve been a real bummer to find that I had dragged myself out of my chinchorro and couldn’t access the bathrooms. Bring whatever you might possibly need in the middle of the night with you to bed if you’re sleeping in the hammocks! There was no running water and only electricity from the solar panels at certain hours. Toilets are a manual flush (you have to get water from a tub and pour water into the toilet with a bucket) and showers are also via bucket. You really cannot hold this against them, though, as there is no running water in most of La Guajira. This was certainly part of the experience and part of the charm.

Como todos en Cabo de la Vela los hostales quedan a lo largo del camino. Las hamacas cuestan 15, los Chinchorros 20, y habitaciones 30 por persona. La comida es buena. Las hamacas las ubican frente al mar, en la noche es bastante tranquilo.

Nous y avons que mangé. Plat normaux a 25k Poisson entier, poulet ,bœuf.. Bonne terrasse et possibilité d'aller même à l'ombre sur la plage. Serveux très accueillant et sympatique.

Buena relación calidad precio para la zona, pagué 50 mil pesos (2023) por una habitación individual con ventilador. Queda muy cerca a la playa y a restaurantes

Rancheria muy agradable, buen servicio y comida muy rica, pero los baños comunales no estaban en el mejor estado; estos contaban con poca iluminación y uno de los lavamanos no contaba con su respectiva conexión a la tubería de desague, por lo que toda el agua caía en el piso. Adicionalmente, no se encontraba papel higiénico ni agua dulce en los baños, teniendo que solicitarlos en la recepción cada vez que se necesitaba. Cabe mencionar que en el desayuno pedimos salpicón, pero a diferencia de un coctel de frutas terminó siendo un pescado!

Todas las comunidades wayú viven una situacion precaria y extrema pobreza, sin agua y sin condiciones dignas. No es un tema de cultura, es un tema de corrupción de los gobiernos que usan las comunidades wayú para hacerse elegir y después se olvidan de sus necesidades.

Las habitaciones están bien. Hay agua de la ducha, reciben tarjeta y el precio está bien. Pero la atención es bastante regular. A nosotros nos atendió un señor venezolano que fue súper amable y diligente. Pero a él lo trataban bastante mal los dueños del lugar y eso es bastante incómodo. La comida regular.

Las habitaciones son demasiado calientes y el ventilador no alcanza a refrigerarla....no tenían hamacas en ninguna parte...el agua para bañarse tiene horarios solo por la noche hasta las 7 am y nos tocó cambiarnos sin podernos quitar la sal del mar ...

Excelente ubicación, desayuno y almuerzo aceptable, las habitaciones son básicas, pero presenta inconvenientes eléctricos en la noche lo que dificulta el buen descanso

Fui en una excursión y comimos y cenamos allí y pasamos la noche. No fue una gran experiencia. La comida está bien, pero hay poca amabilidad. Nadie explica nada ni responden a las consultas. Dormí en chinchorros incómodos, los montaron todos amontonados, la gente se chocaba con el vecino, había miuchísimos perros que ladraban todo el tiempo y nos despertaban. Ojo que estoy acostumbrada a dormir en hamacas, no es por la incomodidad natural, es que estaban mal montados, A la noche cerraron la entrada y no se podía acceder a los baños. Mucho agobio a los turistas en la zona. Parece que no les interesara nada atender correctamente a la gente.

You may well end up here, after the journey you just fall into places.. The receptionist is not cool (usually has a black baseball cap backwards with a diamond MaryJane leaf). Really unfriendly. Anyway, he'll charge 25,000cop/pp for a room. Here's the "deal" though; do the tour for 130k with hamaca included and he'll drop the price to 20k per night.. not bad. You leave 30k pp deposit and sign up for the tour. Now.. the tour costs 100k which you give to the driver when you arrive. So far so good; that is until you are charged for the hamaca at the hospedaje!! We didn't pay for the hamaca, after explaining the situation. The point being, this receptionist is trying to scam the gringos. If you go for the deal, it has all included (no food). Just don't pay the 30k pp deposit, pay 15k each and save the rest for the hamaca ;) Rooms are fine, you can get the water for showering included in the price if you ask. Didn't try the food, place didn't have many people eating at the restaurant.
