Wokcano Valencia Reviews
The best food, service, ambulance. Everything perfect. 100% recommend. I'm from northern California. From now one, I have to arrange my travel to stop here whenever I come to LA 👌👌👌 Thank you Alexis
Just had amazing service from this beautiful waitress named Tyler , she took our whole complicated order with her memory and everything was perfect! I would come again just for this service. Our food came out quickly and it was delicious. She evened remembered it’s a little details, like I liked my soup extra hot.I will definitely be back soon. Thank you Tyler :-)Maya
So surprised by Wokcano, my first time eating here. My expectations for any mall restaurant are low. Expected that typical “mall” restaurant food: edible but not really good. This place exceeded, by parsecs, my expectations!!! We got the Crazy Fried Rice and Emperor’s Beef. Both dishes were more than 2 can eat, about 4 servings of each. This was reflected in the price as it was moderately expensive. However, it was, without a doubt, worth the price. We had 2 servings to take home for lunch the next day. Total price of the lunch was under $50 before tip: Edamame appetizer, emperors beef, crazy fried rice and an iced tea. The edamame was cooked perfectly. Good sized pieces and plenty for 2 people. The crazy fried rice was fried rice spiked with ginger and garlic, and egg whites only, no yolks. The egg-whites-only did not detract from either the flavor or texture of the dish. This was, far and away, the BEST fried rice I’ve ever had, no exaggeration . Ginger can be overpowering but this dish had just the right amount so you knew it was there and it provided that ginger spike, that freshness, that brought all the flavors together. Amazing! The emperors beef was also excellent. Although it was labeled as spicy, it wasn’t. Again, this did not detract from the flavor. It certainly had a spice to it, but not like eating a jalapeño. It is a fried beef dish and the crunch was just right. Also, sometimes when you get a dish with beef slices, fried or not, you get pieces that have a lot of gristle which is indicative of cheap cuts being used to maximize profits. None of the pieces I ate had any of that hard-to-chew crap/garbage. This dish was so flavorful! The service was excellent. One of my key indicators for service, as strange as this sounds, is whether or not I get a drink refill promptly. It shows whether or not your server is paying attention and interested in providing the service required to earn that tip. I never had to wait/ask for that refill. It came when my iced tea was about 1/4 full. Our server was pleasant and smiling throughout, took our order promptly and provided the kind of service that shows pride in a job well done. The atmosphere was okay, nothing to write about there. The men’s bathroom was very clean. I will definitely be returning as I would like to try so much more on the menu. It has plenty of items for those, like myself, that aren’t sushi-eaters. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Food is delicious everytime, best orange chicken in town. Service is ok, you never get a bad waiter/waitress, but it could be better. Great family environment. Sadly the men's restroom was horribly unpleasant, dirty, smelly and there was trash everywhere. I hope they pay more attention to this, hygiene is important in kitchen and "bathrooms" too. They should really pay attention to their bathrooms
Of all the Wokcano restaurants we’ve dined at, this is by far the best in customer service and in food quality and flavor. Tyler was our waiter this evening, and he was a highly experienced waiter—superb service, very patient, and attentive, despite servicing the majority of tables in the restaurant. Definitely an enormous asset to the restaurant. The food was AMAZING! We started off with the garlic edamame, and it was the best I’ve ever had anywhere. We also enjoyed the albacore carpaccio with crispy onions and ponzu sauce—INCREDIBLE and the tempura. For our entree we enjoyed the garlic noodles, orange chicken , crispy Brussels sprouts (an absolute must have!!!! 😋), a volcano roll and tempura roll. Every single dish was absolutely delicious, kudos to the sushi chefs and chef. Easily 5 stars and we’ll be visiting again! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕
Absolutely loved our experience here!! The staff was super friendly & they were able to seat us right away on a Saturday for dinner! The portions are HUGE & I left stuffed! Started with chicken dumplings + calamari. I had the chow fun (so delicious), noodles were amazing!! A friend had the fried rice (which was really flavorful too) and the sushi is out of this world! We had so many leftovers (as the portions were huge) so we will have enough for lunch tomorrow too!! Taylor, our server was awesome!! Get a seat in a booth by the window, it’s super comfortable & totally recommend for a vibey night!
Came here on a Monday evening for a birthday dinner with our son. The bar was active but the main dining area was very empty. The food was excellent but the service was slow, unfriendly and inattentive. We waited a fair amount before even seeing the waitress after being seated. The miso soup that came with a couple of the meals was delivered last, after we had our food. No water refills. When she asked if we needed more drinks, a beer was ordered that never came. First and likely my last time here.
Wokcano Valencia is a convenient late-night dining option, open until 2 AM on Saturdays. After a long day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, we appreciated being able to walk in without any wait. Portions are generous and designed for sharing. The spicy shrimp and spicy garlic chicken were flavorful, though on the heavier side with rich sauces. The Korean short ribs were tender but leaned very sweet. Our daughter enjoyed the chicken dumplings, though our son was not fond of the short ribs. The dining experience was warm and cozy, with a relaxed vibe that made it easy to enjoy a late-night meal as a family. Service was efficient, and food arrived quickly. Prices are fair given the portion sizes. The concept of Chinese-inspired Japanese cuisine is delivered well, emphasizing bold flavors and shareable dishes. A solid choice in Valencia for hearty Asian-inspired food late at night. Generous portions, cozy atmosphere, and fair pricing make Wokcano a dependable go-to after a long day.
Very nice server. For some reason they don't remove the plates from the table after the meal is complete. This has happened multiple visits. To the point that we end up requesting dishes be removed to make room for additional beverages. I know it's hard to find staff, but my impression is that it is not a priority. I'm not sure why they would prefer to have a full table rather than make room for main course and additional drinks.
Great food, i could taste the quality ingredients. our servers were polite and attentive to the needs. They were able to keep their composure in spite of kitchen issues. The night we went there for dinner, there was a water flood in the kitchen, causing a delay; but in the end the wait was worth it.
I love this place! They have great drinks and food and are open late. I’m a vegetarian and there are many options to choose from. I’m not an Asian food expert but I really love the food and the atmosphere is always chill. They also have a great happy hour. It’s my got to place for something a little fancy and still reasonable. Hope you enjoy it too!
Nice, higher end Asian restaurant located at the mall. We went and made it for Happy Hour which had decent priced appetizers. We did not drink any alcohol but the bar looked good. Would be a good place to come for a drink and appetizers. We ordered an order of eggrolls (but they brought us 2 which was our fault in how we ordered) and an order of steamed dumplings. Both were very good! For the main meal, we ordered Lemon Chicken and brown rice. We also optioned for the addition of soup and salad for an additional $6. Hubby ate the soup while I had the salad. Both were very good. The main dish portion was huge and, even with sharing the main dish, we had leftovers. For me, I found the Lemon Chicken dry even with the sauce. I would have preferred a more traditional chinese dish with veggies but, based on the menu, options were limited for a dish with veggies. We probably should have ordered a veggie dish and maybe added chicken. Would I go again. I don't think I would go for the full meal but I would consider going for Happy Hour. Drinks and a few apps would be good and not as pricey!
I love this place. I normally get the same thing when here, which is the love boat for two. It comes with a salad & miso soup for both/ each. They are both really good 👍 They have half good as well, which is also great. The parking is a bit difficult but mostly not a problem. It is outside the mall, so it's easy to find/ noticeable. The place is clean and the service is good. Everything here is good it's fresh, it doesn't smell or taste weird as some sushi places do.
Wokcano has a special place in our hearts because when we got married 100 million years ago we had our rehearsal dinner at the Pasadena location. They were very nice to us they provided vegetarian options which weren't on the menu, and we loved it. As a long time has gone by and we were excited to see that there was a location here in the Santa Clarita Valley where we moved recently. The menu is similar to what we remember but there are more vegetarian options available to order which excited us because we're vegetarians. Everything we ordered was delicious! (With the exception of the Dragon's Breath Cocktail.) My wife and I shared the Orange Crispy Tofu, the Vegan Kung Pao Chicken, and the fried rice. It was a little strange ordering the fried rice as they have a few variations on the menu we wanna just the basic one and we had to convince the waitress that it actually existed by showing it to her on the menu. But it was cleared up quickly and we got what we ordered. The Orange crispy tofu was delicious and reminded us easily of that dish made with chicken when we used to eat meat. The vegan Vegan Kung Pao Chicken was really delicious, with the caveat that the soy chicken was actually a little undercooked… This was surprising as typically at non-vegetarian restaurants you find that the faux-meat options are often over-cooked. This dish would've been absolutely perfect had the faux-chicken been cooked a little bit longer. The basic fried rice was also really tasty and we didn't feel the need to have ordered one of the other variations of it to get a really nice tasting rice dish. Portions were also generous so we had plenty to take home and eat for meals the next day. The Dragon's Breath Cocktail was disappointing. It wasn't particularly well mixed and the only flavor I really got out of it was the alcohol which isn't really what I want when I'm spending a lot of money on a cocktail. That having been said those vegetarian dishes were delicious and we would definitely come back to have them again and try other things. There's a full sushi bar and many other fine beverages to try. Nice Job Wokcano!
As long as you know you’re not coming here for authentic Asian food, it’s not a bad place for a nicer meal. All the dishes we had were good, but not amazing. The fried Brussels sprouts could really use a dipping sauce. Our server was nice and professional. Price for value isn’t great, so I really hope they’re paying their employees well.
My wife and I came here last night to grab dinner, Wokcano is one of my favorite place to go eat at but I haven't been to one in a while and it was my first time at this location. We also brought our baby daughter with us. It didn't take long for us to get seated near the sushi chef area. Our waitress was Natalie and she came to get our drinks and appetizers orders first. We just got soda and my wife wanted her spicy garlic edamame. She brought our drink and edamame quick. My wife ordered the Salmon and made it into a dinner meal so it would come with miso soup, salad and brown rice. I got the Mongolian beef and asked for Jasmine rice. Our food took some time to come out, the miso soup and salad came out quick. My wife like the soup but not the salad, I tried it too and they just drenched it with dressing so not good. This was when Natalie went to refill my wife drink and when she came back, it didn't taste like a coke. I tooked multiple attempts to flag her down and she didn't believe me at first that the coke tasted weird. So she didn't even take it and said she'll bring a new one and I also asked for a refill on mine. She came back and said the people in the back is replacing the coke tank since it's emptied. My Mongolian beef was delicious and they were generous with the portion. I loved my dish, my wife salmon also came out but she didn't really like. Natalie came back with just one coke but forgot my refill. The coke she brought was flat so not good. We decided to not even bother anymore. She disappeared again until I flagged her down with another waiter to asked for the check and boxes. The customer service here was bad and where they sat us, was smokey from the sushi chef area.
We came tonight because there was a wait at lazy dog, but I wish we got food to go. The food was good. Pretty pricey. But holy moly. Ive never been to such a loud restaurant. It was like being in an elementary school cafeteria. We couldn't hear each other talk without yelling. My husband said the other side of the restaurant was better but this giant room with all the tables...so loud. Don't think I'll come back on a weekend.
Saturday night roughly around 8 PM. My son and I were seated promptly. Not much of a crowd/packed night. It was pretty empty. Minus the bar area. We waited for quite some time for our waiter. We ordered our drinks, appetizer, and main dishes. My ginger mule wasn’t served properly. See picture. Food was ok. But once again the poor experience comes from staff. Lack of attention to detail and lack of service. I will not go back to the Valencia location.
First time here , see I've was horrible , our server would not come and offer us drinks , when she finally did ,it took about 12 minutes to get our drinks table was sticky. Food was not unique or flavorful.I was not impressed , not returning.
Arizona Gas Station Sushi location of a chain— “Safe, Generic SCV Sushi”… until it tried to kill us I genuinely thought this place was going to be the definition of safe, cookie-cutter, “nothing special but fine” sushi. I used to come here all the time.I loved it! I was wrong. We paid the price. In every way imaginable. The Roll That Started the Apocalypse My daughter (7) had a Philadelphia roll last night. You know — the sushi equivalent of ordering toast. It’s basic. It’s supposed to be foolproof. She kept saying she wasn’t into it and I did the classic parent move: > “She’s just being picky.” She’s not picky. She’s perceptive. When she was almost done, I tried it and it was BAD. Not “meh” bad. Not “kinda warm” bad. Spoiled bad. Like “this fish is auditioning for a true crime documentary” bad. I tried to talk to the manager because, minor detail, this isn’t safe to serve to human beings. He removed the Philadelphia roll from my bill and hit me with: “Have a great night.” Sir… I’m not here for a coupon. I’m here because you’re serving people spoiled salmon. He brushed it off. On my way out, an employee asked if everything was okay. I said: “No — I think I just ate bad salmon. This is definitely less than I expected.” And he goes: “People say that sometimes, and then they cycle the food out and it gets better.” EXCUSE ME? So this is… a known issue? Like a seasonal menu item? Back at Home: The Sequel Nobody Wanted My 7-year-old is puking her guts out I’ve already vomited once from just tasting it I called the location. They took my name and number… and I haven’t heard anything back. Then they tell me: They tasted it “Some people have issues” The manager thought it was “just fine.” So either: 1. the manager is used to substandard sushi, he has an iron stomach, or his taste buds have already filed for divorce. The Sticky Sushi Bar of Doom Also, if you sit at the sushi bar, you’ll be seated at a slab of sticky wood that apparently should’ve been varnished about five years ago.(Manager's words, not mine.) It’s sticky no matter how much you clean it, according to the explanation I got. So you’re not just eating questionable sushi — you’re doing it on a table that feels like it’s been lightly coated in soda and regret since 2019. Takeout? Only If You Like Waiting as a Lifestyle Four guys behind a sushi bar, watching soccer and hanging out, while the place is a ghost town, is not a reason for a 15m wait. It’s overpriced and underdelivered, and the service has been consistently rough: You’d think slicing a tuna roll to-go would not require a committee meeting and a halftime show Another time, a host sat me… and I waited 15 minutes with no server ever coming by, so I just left. To be fair: the place looks nice inside (because it’s a chain). It used to feel like safe, generic SCV sushi. Not anymore. Not for me. Final Ratings Manager: dismissive Servers: puts the “wait” in waiters Hosts: sweet, easygoing, and seemingly unaware they work in a sweatshop cafeteria, disguised as a restaurant Bottom Line If you’re into: spoiled salmon roulette, sticky sushi bars, and service that moves at the speed of continental drift …then hey, maybe this is your spot. For my family? For friends? We're good. For my Enemies: "You guys gotta check this place out! It's just as awesome as it has always been!"
We ordered to go and once again despite asking they didn't fill the boxes. The salad was literally almost entirely chips and a few pieces of dead lettuce. Drove from an hour away to pick up dinner for date night and they absolutely did not deliver. Bummer because we're regular customers and come to eat in person all the time.
Yes, it looks good, but we got food poisoning. This is not the first time I was here. This time, we got there a lil late and were told that the kitchen was closed. It was past 10:10p.m., and the only option we had was sushi or open bar. Cooked lobster/ crab roll wasn't bad. Sashimi, I'd say, was at 3.6⭐️ tastewise & quality of fish; however, we both got food poisoning, and we think it was sashimi. My friend was gonna end up at the hospital if not for throwing everything up! Long story short; I'd advise the owner/s to skip/ discontinue serving raw sushi at all and just stick with their other menu. Thx
