Valbrook Diner Valley Stream Reviews
Our server was above and beyond! So friendly and accommodating — especially for my sister with food allergies. Many options on the menu with generous portions. Fun, lively atmosphere.
I frequently stop at this fueling station to purchase fuel. It's really big and they have about 18 pumps. Though all of them aren't being used because the middle pump is always blocked by someone that doesn't feel the need to pull in to fuel the correct way. The store is pretty clean, merchandisers are on point and availability of product is evident. This is a full service station, all that you may think of is in here. They offer lottery, restroom, hot and cold food, coffee,... You name it. The service I received today was purchasing fuel and I obtained an outstanding value. $2.79 for fuel but I paid $2.09 by utilizing my fuel perks, a savings of $9 for 13 gallons of gas. I love the Tim Horton shop. My experience today, I went to get a pumpkin spice latte, the young lady was very new so she went to verify that they actually sold that item. She came back to prepare the latte, the other person working helped her and discovered that the latte was not cooperating so she offered me another drink. I told her that I really appreciate her not selling me something that was not suitable for consumption. She apologized and I eased the sale by taking another coffee and saying that I'll come get the spice another time, she was empathetic and felt really bad. What resonated was she valued me as a customer and didn't see me as a sale or money in the drawer realizing that I may or may not return. Also I sense that she understood that she was representing the organization and wouldn't want a scare on her record. She did good!
The food was excellent. Nice size portions. Very clean establishment. Great customer service.
I am from FL, and have tried may breakfast diners but this place wins 1st place! The pancakes looked beautiful but tasted even better! The potatoes were so fresh and lightly seasoned. & the omelette was hot and delicious. Thank you for wonderful taste bud experience!
A hearty thank you to the owner of the Valbrook diner, who honored my husband, a disabled Vietnam veteran with a generous gift certificate. The food and service were excellent, and we enjoyed a lovely meal! THANK YOU!!!
I have been a patron at Valbrook for over 25 years...... new management over the years but still has the best service, food and friendly staff. The 2 brothers Tommy and Anthony DiStefano are awesome. Very kind and friendly. They are really loved by their patrons
The diner had a calm atmosphere. It was busy but it wasnt crowded. I ordered the farmers omelet which comes with home fries and toast. My husband ordered pancakes. When the food came out it was a pleasant surprise. It was a huge serving. They made my home fries perfectly crunchy just as I asked them to. It was delish and enjoyable. We divided the food among each other and it was alot. The omelet, fries and pancake was really good. We always say if you are really hungry go to a diner because the servings are huge. Really enjoyed the meal, the server was nice and attentive. This place is worth a visit.
The diner has parking, but depending on the time of day it may be fiiled. There is plenty of parking on the street. The place is clean and spacious with exceptional staff and service. The food is so delicious and the portions are hugh. Best of all...the prices, so economical and affordable.
Trying something new upon my arrival to the City that never sleeps. In my opinion, Diners can be a hit or miss. Valbrook Diner was a hit! Our server Sonny was friendly in her own little way. When I inquired about the Homemade Challah French Toast, her response made the dish sound like the perfect choice. The food was flavorful and delivered to our table at just the right temperature. Having ordered the French Toast, Turkey Sausage and scrambled eggs, I was pleasantly surprised by the French Toast. No syrup needed. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Not enough to eat 2. By the time I finished 1/2 of one turkey sausage that I didn’t really care for, one French toast, 1/2 of my eggs and the cooked to perfection corned beef hash that I just had to try.. I was extremely full. At Valwood Diner you will definitely get your money’s worth! So much so that you might waste some food. Overall experience was wonderful. I didn’t clean my plate but I left a very happy customer! By the way, parking is a little challenging but it’s New York🤩
It was my birthday and several family members got together at the Valbrook Diner for lunch. We were a party of 14 adults and kids, and each one of us were treated well. The service and food were amazing. Special preparation requests were honored without a problem. It was the first time any of us ate at the diner, and we will definitely be back. The photo is a pastry brought to me in recognition of my birthday. It was a great experience for all!
I'm someone who loves a great Saturday morning breakfast after a long and gruesome week. I decided to try somewhere else other than IHOP and ended up randomly coming to Valbrook Diner. From when I first entered the establishment, I was greeted with courtesy and I knew right then and there that they valued their customers. I was granted the choice to sit where I wanted. The atmosphere was very welcoming and everyone seemed to be happy. The sweet aroma of the food floating through the air made my mouth watery. The waitress was nice. They have many different selections on the menu. The food came rather quickly after I ordered. I also ordered a few things because I thought it would probably be small portions but I was wrong. The portions were sufficient enough. Food was very delicious and fulfilling. Highly recommend for breakfast. They do serve lunch also and I think dinner. Plenty of parking was available when I went there on a Saturday morning. Maybe just got lucky and the place was somewhat packed. Will definitely revisit. Thank you for a pleasant experience!
I've been coming here since I was a child and the food is still pretty consistent. I've tried many lentil soups and theirs is by far my favorite.

I've been coming to this diner for over 20 years. Most of the time service and food are on point. In those years I've encountered 2 nonchalant waiters and under or overcooked fries which were corrected immediately without hassle. I love the atmosphere and the welcoming staff.
Valbrook Diner Layout/atmosphere *Counter with one TV; booths; tables in back; open view of the street; parking lot Service *Quick Food/drink *Pancakes - good; could taste the buttermilk in the batter *Corned Beef Hash with two eggs (over easy) with home fries & toast - solid; green peppers in the potatoes

We tried this place a few times for lunch and dinner. The food is okay and waiters are friendly but unfortunately work in fear of the manager who obviously oppress them. Had two annoying and negative exchanges with a bullying manager who was so very petty that he would not allow the waiter to bring tomatoes without charging extra. I declined the second time around. We then decided to stop patronizing this diner. There are many places with better food without nasty pettiness.
The receptionist on entry was welcoming and seated us as soon as possible. It went downhill from there. Table service was awful. Our waiter had the attitude like he really did not want to be our server and was doing us a favor by doing so. Substitution on 1 item in exchange for something else was declined, even though the menu indicated substitution is a $2 charge, which I would have been willing to pay. Customer satisfaction is not a priority here. The food is average at best, nobody asked if everything was okay during the meal. There are better choices close by. Bring quarters for the parking meter on the street. the chances of getting a parking space in their tiny parking lot is slim to none. Lose the poor attitude and focus on customer satisfaction, and maybe I will try again.
They had paper menus. Like printouts. The one I had was torn. How splendid. Their water was tap water. Unfiltered. Just nasty. I ordered a Ginger-Ale. That was fountain. So displeasing. I would no recommend this diner for drinks. They did have good breakfast though. I had a chicken quesadilla omelette. That was the only thing decent there.

Yesterday morning, three of us were at the Vallbrook Diner having coffee and juice, and discussing funeral arrangements for our father. The diner was not busy and there were plenty of available seats. About 10 minutes after our drinks arrived our server asked if we were ready to order food. We told her that we were only having beverages. Then a man who I assume is the manager or owner came to us and said that if we were going to conduct business, we needed to order food. Then the server returned. She was very polite and we got the check, and left. I have been going to diners all my life, and no one has ever come to my table and told me that I have to order because of what they think I'm having a conversation about. There was no sign indicating that there's a minimum order requirement per table. There was no sign that said anything. This was very disrespectful treatment, and I discourage anyone from visiting this diner. If they can just decide who can stay and who cannot, with no clearly written and displayed policy, then it could happen to you!
Ordered home fries and 2 orders of turkey sausage for pickup. Upon opening bag at home the home fries were burnt all over. The turkey sausage they now use are very small. Not the same size as before. They were overcooked but edible. I returned the potatoes to the diner and they refunded me. Can't understand how they would sell burnt potatoes anybody. to I think they have new chefs that are not good cooking. Poor quality control. I will not be visiting this diner no longer as quality of food has gone downhill. There are other diners around that are much better.
Extremely Disturbing Experience - Unsafe Behavior from Staff Member (Anthony) We came to this diner to celebrate a family reunion -- our cousin was visiting from overseas. We've been regular customers here for over 30 years, and always enjoyed coming here until this shocking incident. We brought a $500 bottle of alcohol and planned to discuss it with our server, intending to pay for opening it and also order from the bar. Before we had a chance to explain, a staff member named Anthony suddenly ran up to our table screaming, saying we couldn't bring alcohol into his establishment. His behavior was erratic and aggressive -- his eyes were red, his hands were shaking, and he was shouting so loudly that saliva landed on our food. We even offered to buy the most expensive bottle of alcohol from their bar to resolve the situation politely, but Anthony refused, saying he was not selling us anything. He then grabbed our bottle and drinks from the table with his bare hands, took them away without permission, and threatened to call the police. We were shocked and deeply uncomfortable. He came back moments later, threw the check on the table, and told us never to return. When I went to pay and asked why he said that, he denied it and walked away, refusing to face me. As a doctor, I have worked with psychotic patients in clinical settings, but those are controlled and professional environments. What I witnessed here was frightening, unpredictable, and deeply upsetting. It was depressing to see such rude and inconsiderate behavior in what used to be one of my favorite places. Anthony's behavior was so unstable that it made us fear for our safety. Management should immediately evaluate whether he is fit to interact with customers. After this disturbing encounter, I can no longer recommend this diner. Never in my life have I experienced such an attitude from staff or ownership toward loyal customers. It no longer feels safe or welcoming.
After ordering a burger that had Mold on it and was incorrect, They tried to tell me that the green mold on the cheese was blood from the burger! you be the judge? My 6 year old says only aliens have green blood Hahahah I order here for the past 5 years since I moved here don’t think I will be ordering anymore especially cause they tried to tell me that the mold was not mold and it was blood from the cow hahaha !!
