Il Salotto Varese Reviews
A friendly atmosphere, 100% free to be yourself, with music featuring hits from the '80s to today. At a certain hour, the staff offered pasta, with pesto this time, and it was delicious! Not the usual dry ones you'd find elsewhere. Congratulations and thank you. ☺️
I've read a lot of negative reviews, especially about the owner, Vito. My experience was the exact opposite: Vito was incredibly kind to us, coming over to our table several times to sit and have a drink with us, and engaging in pleasant conversation. Of course, it should be noted that it was a Saturday night in late August, with COVID restrictions still in place, and the place wasn't crowded, so some might argue that the difference in experience was due to this. I'd say my overall impression was extremely positive, and that's why I'm giving it 5 stars (something I rarely do). I felt welcomed and had a wonderful evening; I'll definitely be back as soon as I can.
Il Salotto is a one-of-a-kind venue in the Varese area. A hub for the LGBTQ+ community, it's a place where everyone can feel at home, whether for a carefree evening sipping a cocktail, enjoying karaoke, or watching the entertaining performances the venue offers, especially on weekends. The cocktails are exquisite, and you can enjoy the products from the small kitchen. At Il Salotto, you'll always feel welcome, thanks in part to the artistry of the host, Vito: if you know him, you'll adore him. The furnishings are unique, refined, and often evolving. There's a large outdoor space, especially usable in the summer and milder seasons. Parking is very convenient and offers plenty of space. Il Salotto is a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination in the provinces of Varese and the surrounding area. Despite the pandemic having dampened its spirit, as is the case with any venue, Il Salotto manages to remain true to its identity and offer enjoyable moments. It's a favorite destination for many friends who, intrigued by the place, often ask me to return. I recommend going Thursday through Sunday. Weekends are very popular!
Fantastic bar. The interior is wonderful, with each space featuring different, off-the-wall elements that make it unique, while the exterior is relatively classic. The drinks are very good, even the non-alcoholic ones, while the alcoholic ones are decidedly strong. The only improvement I'd like to see is a drink menu. While you can order anything, it would be more convenient to have a drink menu to browse through so you don't always have to order the same ones.
The best
The craziest place in Varese! Colorful, alternative and fun, you can dance, drink and talk, there are always lots of people on Friday and Saturday nights. It's a proud gay bar but it's actually for everybody!
Fantasmagorico!
👍🏻
Gay bar is good
It was definitely much better once upon a time. Let's just say it could become one of the most fun places in the area again with a few tweaks. The food and service definitely need a rethink.
Went there on a Friday night specifically to have a drink, like I'd always done before Covid, but... surprise, you need a reservation now. We didn't know that. Anyway, the guys at the door were nice, without being arrogant. It's a shame, I remembered it as a fun, no-holds-barred place where you could have a drink and relax. Probably because of some idiotic patrons, things have changed.
Serata orribile e senza senso. Abbiamo speso 70 euro e siamo stati trattati a pesci in faccia!
A place you shouldn't set foot in and that should have closed years ago. Starting with the fact that nothing is legal, and that someone is probably cheating to stay open. Then there are security guards who treat customers terribly and think they're God-like and can treat people like that. I won't even comment on the owner because he speaks for himself. I've read dozens of reviews like mine, and honestly, I think this place isn't worth your presence or your money.
It used to be an inclusive place where people could have fun and spend carefree evenings, but now the arrogant and rude attitude of the bouncers has definitely changed the mood of the place. There were six of us, and we were refused entry because we hadn't booked, even though other people were walking in without a problem. The bouncers got angry and started insulting us for no reason, becoming very aggressive. It's a shame because after years abroad, I had fond memories of Salotto and couldn't wait to return. P.S. I lived in the LGBTIQ+ neighborhood of Sydney, and Salotto is an insult to all LGBTQ+ clubs.
Shameful. The bodyguards are truly scandalous and incite people... and it's happened more than once before my eyes, so I assume it's not a coincidence, but a choice on the part of the owner. I hope they tone it down a bit; it's not on the scale of Milan (where such behavior wouldn't be condoned anyway).
Friday evening, after dinner with colleagues. We decided to go to this place for a drink and some music; it was our first time there. At a certain point, while dancing, one of our group whistled... We were rudely kicked out by the owner (drunk as hell) because whistling is strictly forbidden in his nightclub, without any ifs or buts. He didn't even explain that no one knew about this "rule," as it was our first time there. Disrespectful to the customers. The bouncers themselves agreed with us, given how absurd the scene was. The management was beyond reproach...go anywhere but here...never again! I hope all the other people treated badly by the drunk owner during the evening feel the same way.
Personally, I was completely disappointed; poor organization, zero manners, and little respect for the customers! I arrived with 5 other people, and as we were about to enter, a bouncer rudely told us, "DO NOT COME IN!"!!! My response was a big "Fuck you!" We went somewhere else and had a great time anyway! Sooner or later, the owner will find the wrong people... outside of the Salotto, no one owns anyone else. 😉
The worst night ever! Disgusting. The owner, escorted by his bouncers, was completely rude and arrogant toward me and my group of friends. After several completely unjustified aggressive behaviors (not just verbal), the Carabinieri even intervened, confirming the bad reputation the place had acquired under owner Vito.
Shocking!! We had a terrible evening, even having to call the police. Following the constant verbal abuse from the bouncers and, above all, the owner, who vehemently and rudely ordered us to move from an area frequented by other customers, a pedestrian area that wasn't cordoned off. I strongly advise against spending a Friday night at this establishment. Valerio Farinelli.
