Wabi Venice Reviews
Delicious Codfather sushi :) Great ambiance!
I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is great and the sushi is absolutely amazing — super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every roll we tried was delicious, and you can really tell they care about quality. The only downside I can mention is the bathrooms. They’re unisex and were veryyy dirty when we visited, which was disappointing compared to how good everything else was. Other than that, the food alone makes it worth coming back. Definitely recommend for sushi lovers!
Food was amazing and drinks were delicious. They were able to accommodate 3 of us on walk in. The host and support staff were on it. Our server was a little lackluster. Didn’t really check on us and had to flag him down for a drink. As soon as it was time for the bill he started getting really friendly. Definitely would go back again but just prepared for the service standard.
Every dish was wonderful… service was impeccable. Great location. Super friendly staff. The chef even came out to see us. Deserts were special. Great part of town. Lively atmosphere at the weekend when we walked by. Returned on a Sunday for a perfect mellow experience. Thank you so much to all the staff. What a fabulous find!
Wabi on Rose is an absolute gem, and it’s all thanks to the incredible team that makes it shine. Filly, Alex, and Brian are top-tier bartenders welcoming, knowledgeable, and always crafting the perfect cocktail (or vibe!). Whether you’re in the mood for something classic or creative, they’ve got you covered. And Chef Rain is a for real sushi wizard. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. You can really tell the care and craft that goes into every roll. Between the killer food, standout drinks, and the warm, familiar faces behind the bar, Wabi is the kind of place that keeps you coming back. 10/10 recommend.
I’ve taken 4 different hinge and bumble dates and here let me tell you the vibes and cuisine are immaculate. Perfect to let the stranger you just met online know that you’re trying and you have great taste but won’t bankrupt you when they inevitably disappoint you. Highly recommend and would go back in a heartbeat.
First time in Cali so you know we couldn’t pass up even fresher sushi! Everything was 10/10, despite us coming to nearly closing time the waitress was understanding and checked in to ensure our needs were meet. Food was absolutely delicious, the drinks… incredible. The way everything melted in your mouth, best believe next time we visit we are stopping back here!!
Had an amazing time at this sushi spot! The decor is super cute, and the lychee cocktail was amazing. We tried the crispy rice and rolls like April, May June, and Criss-Cross Lemon Sauce—everything was incredible. I like the attention to details. Our waitress was so sweet and checked in on us often. Can’t wait to come back and try more rolls!
After years of living here, I finally tried Wabi, and it was such a delightful surprise! This place has a serene vibe and fantastic service. We tried different rolls like the Philadelphia, California, and the Criss-Cross Lemon Sauce roll, which our waiter recommended—it was perfectly spicy and unique. The outdoor dining area, a perfect setting for a memorable night out with friends, adds to the value of the experience. While Wabi may be considered a bit pricey, the quality of the food and service justifies every penny. Each sushi plate is delicious. The ambiance is delightful, and the sushi is probably the best in the area. It's also a haven for those seeking a combination of refreshing drinks and delectable sushi. I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit to explore more of their offerings!
Great ambiance for a night out with your friends. The food tasted good and the service is exceptional. I would only say that it is on the pricier side for the portions and types of plates you’re getting. Any plate of sushi is a great choice and a must from this place, double up on the Tiger King rolls cause they’re unique and delicious. The skewers and fried chicken are good. I would skip the dessert from this place.
A fusion Japanese concept. Cute ambience with decent food and cocktails. Plenty of seats on the patio, we were able to be seated right away as walk-in customers. But parking is a bit hard to find. Chef is really creative and passionate about his work so there’s always modifications and new items on the menu. Would recommend this place for a date or friends catch up. Causal vibes.
FUN & TRENDY - Oh and they serve sushi. If you really want good sushi, go to a real Japanese restaurant. But if you are okay with decent sushi but a fun, lively & trendy place, then Wabi is for you. The 5 of us shared 3 appetizers, 2 Entrees, 3 rolls, and both chef's sushi and sashimi platters. We ended with 2 orders of warm/hot donut holes w dipping sauces (the best!) $500+ includes 20% tip for parties of 5 and more. Note: 3 of us wanted the "Let it rain" (omakase) sushi for our special occasion. The other 2 in our party could not/would not eat raw fish. Therefore the 3 of us were denied the opportunity to order omakase because the chef requires everyone in the party to order the "Let it Rain." Beware. Again, not bad sushi, but a fun place. Oh if you have leftovers, their exotic takeout boxes are legendary.
Excellent Venice vibes, expensive cocktails (that are not as stiff as I’d like), and very fresh sushi. I think that with a slight reduction in price, this place would offer value that would bring in more of my business. But at this price point, I’m better off elsewhere.
Super cute spot on Rose! Cool vibe inside and instagram worthy patio seating. Came for the happy hour - only available at bar seating. Great price for drinks at $5! Food-wise, I had the chicken, roll of the day, and salmon sushi. Salmon sushi and the roll were both great! Chicken was just good but not a wow - spend your money on something else - it’s just fried chicken bites. Lesson learned, stick with the sushi! Would like to come back to try the omakase tasting menu. Bartender told me it was $125 and came with 6 or 7 courses with dessert. Service-wise, the first bartender I had was great. Very attentive. I think I caught them in a shift change though bc he left and then it took a while to get their attention for drink refill and to pay my check. Timing wise on the food though, everything came out quick and they were on top of clearing the dirty plates. Overall, highly recommend!
Entering this restaurant, the vibes are very mixed. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and definitely designed for Social Media, the characters don't match the loveliness of the decor. The greeters and waiters were all short on patience and long on checking in. I tried to be a good guest but I eventually ran out of patience when it took us 30 minutes to get the attention of the waiter so we could put in our order. The restaurant was at 25% capacity. The food also looks great but ends up being rather bland. I'm a really big fan of sushi and also try to find some high end places to get sushi. This place is all looks and no taste. Everything was just lame and bland. No interesting sauces, no new takes on food, just average variety sushi that wasn't bad, but certainly didn't live up to the price tag. In total we spent $145 but ended up wanting to go get tacos afterwards cause this place left us wanting for flavor. My recommendation is, come in for drinks, get your pictures taken and get out, don't bother with anything on the food menu.
Not sure about the sushi quality here or how it is handled. Got food poisoning after dinner. Cool atmosphere. Service was generally good but missed the gluten free soy sauce. Careful here.
I have been coming to this establishment for approximately 14 years and have followed it through different locations. While the food has always been fairly mediocre, I continued to return because of the location and the nostalgia the restaurant once held for me. I also believe strongly in supporting local businesses, which is why I have brought many people here over the years for work gatherings, family dinners, anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebrations. Unfortunately, my most recent experience revealed a serious lack of integrity from management that I cannot overlook. While dining here, my $3,000 handbag was taken from the restaurant. What was even more disappointing than the incident itself was the complete lack of concern or assistance from management. They appeared entirely uninterested in helping resolve the situation. They refused to review camera footage and made no effort to investigate what happened, despite the fact that the theft occurred while I was actively patronizing their establishment. When something like this happens in a business, the bare minimum expectation is that management will show concern and attempt to help their guest. Instead, the response was dismissive and indifferent. Los Angeles is widely regarded as one of the best sushi cities in the world outside of Japan. With so many incredible sushi restaurants in the area that value both quality and customer care, there is simply no reason to choose a place that lacks both culinary excellence and basic integrity. Sadly, I can no longer recommend this restaurant — not for the food, and certainly not for the way they treat their patrons and not when something goes wrong on their watch.
