Great place for good food and quick service. Counter order and seat your self. We had the ceviche, fish and chips, shrimp taco and side salad. Too much food for two people. Ceviche was large and really well made. Tasted great. The fish taco was real good and the corn tortillas was made fresh and just right. Fish and chips was similar to most for flavor, but cooked just right and tasted good. The “chips” were fries but they did taste good. The views of the harbor are great. Place is clean. Give it a try.

Most beautiful views and delicious foods. Got the clam chowder, fish taco, and pork taco. Clam chowder was flavorful and huge portion. Fish was crispy and juicy.

Had a great experience here. This place is reasonably priced and has free parking. I got clam chowder that was really good and my wife got fish and shrimp tacos that she liked. Great view of the harbor. The service was very quick and friendly. Would eat here again for sure.

The view of the harbor was absolutely amazing once the sun burned through the fog, arrival only by the cioppino that I ordered. It was nice and hot, and was very flavorful. They did not skimp on the muscles and clams, which I really appreciated. The sourdough was excellent to bread, toasted and warm just right. My wife had the shrimp and fish taco combo; she said the fish was light and fluffy and surprisingly even better than the shrimp. We like the shrimp salad, shrimp was grilled, and the salad was flavorful even with ranch substituted for the blue cheese. The clam chowder was good, we liked Andrea's soup slightly better, but OTA had that super good sourdough bread, which pushed it just over the top.

Good place to sit and get a great view and snack on good tasty food. Had the shrimp taco with a hand made tortilla the flavors were all there and the shrimps were pretty big. Also had the vanilla ice cream Sunday in a cup. It was deliciously good. The service was great very attentive to ur wants and great suggestions on the menus The place is 2 in 1 (On the alley & the Brophys Bros)

On the Alley is located in the Ventura Harbor. It is a very clean and well-known stop. From the cashiers to the server and waiters and waitresses and bus people it is a very pleasant and calm relaxing vibe. The workers there are very easy to talk to and will joke around with you. Plenty of seating in and out that is maintained real well. The pricing of the food is fair with a view that you can't beat. The food was very good too. If you ever go to the Ventura Harbor stop by on the Alley I recommend it.

I had been craving fish tacos when I was vacationing on the Central Coast. I was happy to see it on the menu here at On the Alley, where the menu for their other restaurant, Brophy Bros above, didn’t have it. I ordered one baja fish taco and one fried avocado taco. Both were delicious! There was a thin layer of breading on the avocado, which gave it a nice crunch that contrasted well with its creamy texture. The fish taco, which also came with avocado slices, was perfectly fried as well. A little hot sauce on both and it was a very satisfying lunch. What really impressed me were the tortillas! They looked and tasted homemade. They were thicker than the store bought ones and had a good bite to it. Seating can be difficult during the lunch rush because you have to find what’s available. But luckily our party of 9 was able to move tables together. Service was really good! You order at the counter and find a table afterwards. But during the end of our meal, someone (perhaps the GM or the owner), came to our table to ask how we were doing. I don’t usually encounter that at fast dining places, so that was really nice! I will definitely come back here in the future.

A perfect day in Ventura at the harbor to grab a snack and a Bloody Mary! The food was delicious and the service was great. We had the clam chowder and Oysters Rochefeller. We will definitely be back!

Stopped by on a foggy evening for a fish taco and was greeted with friendly service and a warm delicious meal. The staff was very attentive and checked to make sure I received my cole slaw and asked to see if a heater was needed. And the dining view of harbor cannot be beat.

Very friendly staff. Food was pretty good except the fish and chips. The fried fish is oily and bland. They should serve with lime wedges. Fish tacos should come with sauce and shredded cabbage. But overall I STILL recommend this place. Pulled pork sandwich, cioppino were really good. Again staff was so good. Free drink refills were nice to have.

I just placed a pickup order at the counter. The young man behind the counter was very pleasant. I ordered the fish& chips and a bowl of clam chowder. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. The soup came with crackers and bread. This meal was delicious. Hands down to the cook and service. I have dined here too and always very pleased.

A family-friendly restaurant with wide selection of fried foods and soda beverages. We had the fish tacos and the fried avocado taco which were ok - the tortilla chips were but fresh and hard. The fish and chips however was weird - the fish was so soft, almost slimy. The fries were ok but the slaw was tasteless. Their patio is child and dog friendly. Front of house/servers are young and inexperienced. The whole place looks a bit dirty (the tables, the floor) and not well looked after. Won’t come back.

Came a couple of times and love their food. Order first before seated and your food will be served when ready. Clean your table after. You have a view of the marina. One time i ordered one soda and asked for a cup of water. And was charged two drinks instead of one. I didnt realized til i got home.

So many things I like here and then there are a few disappointments. Positives: there are many items on the menu that are awesome, like salmon salad, fish sandwich, their soups and more. The view is absolutely the best! The vast majority of the employees are delightful and hard working. Negatives: I often have to clean my own table after finding an empty one, but most annoying to me is the plastic utensils. I'm paying top dollar for food and I'm eating from a bendy plastic fork. I would really appreciate eating my $20 salad from a metal utensil. Not to mention that all those plastic utensils get thrown away and go into our landfill adding more plastic to our environment. It's a casual, low key environment with few frills which is totally fine, but could definitely use a few tweaks.

Food was not good everything I ordered seems previously frozen including the burger, which was dry and had no flavor. Wife ordered bloody mary and that wasnt even good. No wait time which should have been a red flag. Best thing about this spot is its next to the harbor, dont waste your money here.

I had the burger. Huge disappointment. Guess I shoulda had the fish. I paid extra for gluten free bun. Shoulda paid extra for something more suitable down by the warf. It's a bummer when you can't get a burger.
