Bar ai Piani Via Agave Reviews
Ai Piani is one of those rare restaurants that becomes part of one’s personal geography. During my time in Rome, it was a place I returned to often, not out of habit, but because the experience never lost its precision or pleasure. The cooking is confident, generous and deeply satisfying. The flavours are layered yet clear, dishes are rich without excess, and there is an instinctive understanding of balance that runs through the menu. Everything feels grounded in Italian tradition while remaining quietly contemporary, never forced, never distracted. Service is, quite simply, exceptional. Attentive, warm and impeccably timed, it creates an atmosphere in which one feels genuinely welcomed and consistently well looked after. There is a natural ease in the room that allows evenings to unfold without interruption or haste. Ai Piani succeeds because it respects both its cuisine and its guests. It is a restaurant built on consistency, care and intelligence rather than displays. A place that earns loyalty through quality and grace, and one I still think of as a reference point for dining in Rome
The food stands out, service was also very good. Lovely Italian chatty&laughter vibes.
Visiting Rome? This is a must have. Make reservations. We went on a weeknight and it was packed. Got a table outside. Still great! Food was excellent. Tiramisu is a MUST. They make it at your table.
An absolutely amazing seafood restaurant in Rome. During our dinner, I felt like we were the only tourists here, all others being vibrant Romans. The food was extremely well prepared and the wait staff were very helpful and motivated in making our experience spectacular. We ordered the oysters, mixed raw fish platter, the seafood soup and grilled sea bass. All were very beyond delicious and left us longing to come back here.
Reservations recommended! My family came here for dinner while visiting Rome for my 50th birthday. We enjoyed our meal. We didn’t have a reservation but they graciously agreed to seat us without one. The restaurant became full very quickly after opening for dinner service. The restaurant has a huge wine list but we opted for a relatively inexpensive bottle of Pinot Blanc because expensive wines are wasted on me. The wine was suggested by a staff member and it was excellent. For appetizers we had Mixed Carpaccio and Daily Catch Sea Bass Carpaccio, and both were awesome; the mixed one required the use of fingers. For the meal, we ordered three pastas, and they were all very good, but we all agreed that the Fresh Crab Pasta was the best. For desserts we had a Cheese and Honey Pastry and a Tiramisu. Again, both were tasty, but Tiramisu was just amazing - It was made and served table-side in front of our eyes. The service was good. I would love to return to Ai Piani for another meal.
Certainly one of the best seafood restaurants in Rome. I love their raw fish and crustacea. Good wine selection, don't miss the best tiramisu in town to end your dinner. Some pasta options available as well.
The fish is exceptional and so fresh. Friendly staff, nice vibe. Only thing I would say is the potato crisps/chips aren't the right style. Especially because you can end up getting them twice without planning the; once in the appetizer and then again with your fish.
Gaetano is an excellent waiter and he made our night really special. Amazing fish, we had a great fish a la sal. Highly recommend for people looking for authentic italian

Elevated and sophisticated fish menu, very nice wine card, beautiful plating and very attentive staff - everything you are looking for in a classy restaurant.

Let down badly by our server which had rude manners and terrible service. The food was actually good and that’s the only positive feed back. Wrong wine served, wrong prawns served without communicate that the item was on 86! Not sure if they had a bad day but definitely our experience didn’t match any of the good reviews. Hey not even an apology for their mistakes!
Great atmosphere, but what matters to me is the food. Risotto was too salty. Linguine had the same texture as store-bought dry pasta. Grilled vegetables had an unpleasant vegetable that was too bitter. The baked fish was OK, and the only good dish was the octopus salad. I expected more from dishes that cost double of similar restaurants in the area.
Had high expectations for this upscale seafood restaurant in Parioli. Out of the busy tourist district, we had hoped for a more locals experience, but perhaps the price point (expensive) keeps the …
