Sushi Ono Via Borgo Whurer Reviews
After eating so many Japanese meals, I was amazed when I came to eat the à la carte here. The environment is first-class, the sushi is also very exquisite, the plates with different sushi are very particular, the taste is rich, and I also ate the legendary gold foil sushi. I like this Japanese restaurant that insists on making à la carte and tastes so good 👍
AMAZING! The place is beautiful but, above all, private. I particularly liked the tables: large, wooden, and elegant. I also have a weakness for simply set tables. Personally, I didn't order many dishes, but I was satisfied: appetizer, first course, and dessert. €29 with water and coffee. EXCELLENT QUALITY, EXCELLENT PLACE, EXCELLENT WELCOME! I'll definitely be back with someone else to share this place! See you soon!

Excellent menu, both raw and cooked. The mixed sashimi is served fresh on ice, and the fried dishes are light; the restaurant is equipped with soundproof panels and is always very quiet. The staff is extremely courteous. The tables are very large and spaced apart; every time customers leave, the tables and chairs are sanitized with great care and attention. Highly recommended for a taste of authentic Japanese cuisine.
The place isn't bad, but I struggled to understand the style: dim lighting and a few ornate details, combined with decidedly kitschy elements. The menu also gave me a hard time choosing the dishes. The one we chose was perhaps too flavorful. There's an extensive wine list, but the one we chose was sold out. The service was professional to the point of being aloof. The price was perhaps a bit too high. My daughter loved the banana tempura.
My friends and I recently decided to explore the world of high-end sushi restaurants. Having read many positive reviews, we decided to go for a sure thing, but instead... We were sorely disappointed! The place is truly beautiful and well-kept, decidedly welcoming, and in true Japanese style... But the positives, alas, end there. The welcome was very cold, with almost no enthusiasm from the staff. The selection is wide, but the quality is decidedly banal, with the price difference (minimum spend €50/€60 per person with a glass of wine). Very large rolls with unbalanced flavors. Service is chaotic, with a table full of orders, some dishes like udon likely to get cold, and you're left wondering where to turn. A €21 sushi special that had nothing special about it except a ton of wasabi... Furthermore, as the icing on the cake, we were recommended a Japanese plum grappa, only to be told it was sold out. So, we decided to give this restaurant a miss... €60 per person to eat like this was really disappointing... Too bad, too bad, based on the reviews the place had a lot of potential.
An à la carte restaurant I had high expectations for, but which was decidedly disappointing! I should start by saying that I frequent Japanese à la carte restaurants quite often, almost never all-you-can-eat. We went on a perfectly normal Wednesday evening, and there were only four tables occupied. The restaurant was very beautiful and welcoming, and the staff were kind and helpful. You could tell the fish was fresh and of good quality, but overall, I wasn't impressed by the dishes or the pairings, and above all, many dishes didn't match the descriptions on the menu. One star less for the uramaki, which, while good, were small and had little fish inside, and even though we ordered three different ones, they all tasted more or less the same. One star less for the gyoza (Japanese dumplings). They should be cooked on the grill, crispy on the outside, and with a soft filling. These were steamed, with a hard, flavorless filling, and most likely store-bought, not handmade (in a Japanese à la carte restaurant, I expect the dumplings to be homemade). Another star is the combination of these things combined with the price: 3 uramaki (8 pieces each), 4 meat ravioli, a plate of eel, two desserts, a beer for two = 85 euros. The quality-price ratio is nonexistent, I'm afraid. If they handle things like this on Wednesday nights, I don't think they can do any better on busier nights like weekends.
Disappointing: I expected the fish to be much higher quality, but all the dishes I tried were barely any better than at an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Not only is the quality mediocre, but the prices are also quite high... the bill is at least €40-50 per person. Finally, the service is also incredibly slow. A few positives: the setting is very nicely decorated, and all the dishes are beautifully presented. Verdict: Failed! For the same price, you can eat much, much better in any osteria downtown Brescia. And if you really want Japanese food... I think it's best to skip it!
