The atmosphere is typical of historic trattorias. I'm not a big fan of the style, but it's undoubtedly well-presented. Every course was a culinary experience: stuffed anchovies, monkfish with artichokes, grilled prawns... everything was excellent!!

Trattoria Serra is a true hidden gem in Sampierdarena — authentic, welcoming, and delightfully far from the tourist trail. The menu focuses on fresh, perfectly cooked seafood and traditional Ligurian recipes, all served in a cozy, family-style atmosphere. The staff are warm and attentive, and the whole experience feels genuine and relaxed. A wonderful spot to enjoy real Genovese flavours and local charm without any pretension.

Discovered by chance by my sister and a stone's throw from home we had lunch there yesterday. The place is small, beautifully furnished in a nautical style and very clean. The staff and owners are professional but at the same time they make you feel part of their family. Speaking of dishes, the choice is only fish (apart from the pesto lasagna which had a really great smell) and, for those who love it like me, it really makes the difference! Quality and freshness, all served on beautiful plates, I was really impressed!! In particular, praise for the sea bass ravioli made by them... Amazing! Congratulations to everyone!!!

I don’t know what to say, we stumbled into the best restaurant in Genoa. If you like seafood cooked to perfection you must come here. The ambiance, wine, food, and staff were amazing! We started with the mussels, then off to the spaghetti mare and the ravioli stuffed with branzino. The grilled seafood plate was amazing and the tune steak was amazing, we ordered another serving of the tuna, We ended with a dolce della casa, a creamy mandarin sorbetto and a coffee correcto that rocked our world. If you want an exceptional meal with the charm of a local establishment this is the place.

This restaurant is a hidden gem. The location outside looks a bit shabby. But once inside you enter the nirvana of Italian seafood. The black pasta with seafood ragu is super delicious. A well-known restaurant in the Sampierdareno area and in business for years. Typical seafood cuisine. Let's start with that: it's fresh and they know how to prepare it in its simplest form. Already good as it is. My lunch: seafood salad (but I think they brought me mixed seafood) and stuffed squid (among the specials of the day). A glass of still white wine (I think Colli di Luni, Vermentino; there was a bit of a miscommunication on this point). I enjoyed both dishes. The presentation wasn't particularly well-crafted, but it's a trattoria. Special mention for the squid filling, which was truly compact and balanced. It really enhanced the dish. Dessert: Tiramisu. As soon as it was served, the waiter told me: "Tiramisu Genovese style!" I'm from Genoa and I've never tasted anything like it, especially since tiramisu is Venetian.... The mystery is revealed: instead of ladyfingers, there's dry focaccia! A triumph of flavor on the palate. It reminded me of the taste of focaccia (Genoese, of course) drowned in caffe latte when I was a child (I stopped drinking milk afterward...). A very pleasant surprise. Coffee, water, and soft, barrel-aged grappa (I was with friends). The staff were courteous and smiling, though a little distracted (repetition and misunderstanding of orders; second thoughts—"I have/I don't have"). The location is small, clean, and at times a bit over-decorated (the fishing net, the rudder with some broken pegs... two stickers of a local football team—a rival to the one I support, to boot—definitely avoidable), but it's a bit traditional. The location, unfortunately, isn't a strong point; on the other hand, parking is easy. The prices are reasonable for the quality, which remains high, but not too high. I'll gladly return.
