Antica Latteria Via Lomellini Reviews
Homemade, local, and truly delicious food, especially their pesto pasta, which is spectacular. The manager is lovely and speaks perfect Spanish. The restaurant is cozy and very reasonably priced. They were particularly attentive to my three-year-old daughter, so it's also an ideal place for families. If I ever return to Genoa, I will definitely go back.
Excellent
Fantastic experience, local cuisine and very friendly crew, felt like at home. Served by the chef, he gave us great recommendations, and everything was so delicious. We had antipasti selection, local pasta, some fish and dolci. Fantastic tiramisu and cardamom dessert. So much recommended.
We were having a rough night after a long day. Many restaurants in Genoa shooed us away because our group of 5 (including a toddler) was too inconvenient to deal with. I understand that over-tourism is a problem, and local communities are strained, but we just needed a warm meal and to be on our way. We did not deserve to be actively ignored or rudely dismissed. We pushed the door of La Lanterna expecting the worse but hoping for a break and were warmly welcomed and offered a table right away. Then the owner came by and offered to translate the menu word for word in any language of our choice (we chose French) and it just kept getting better from there. With grace and humor, he explained every item, made suggestions and had the time and patience to make us feel cared for. He appreciated our noisy toddler, gave her special attention, and then served us the best meal of our short Italian vacation. The pesto was amazing, my walnut stuffed pasta was divine, the summer minestrone was sublime. Everything was fresh and hand made and delicious. I’m so glad we got dismissed by the larger, busier restaurants to stumble onto this little gem. This is what the best vacation memories are made of. Thank you to our Lanterna saviors, you really made our day.
Lovely meal - everything was fresh and very tasty. The proprietor took the time to explain everything and matched the wine to our meal perfectly. I'd very much recommend you trying this Osteria. We had two entrees, two mains, one desert and three glasses of wine and it was less than 80 euros. Just fabulous value.(June '25)
Lovely place with delicious food and a charming host
This place deserves four Michelin stars.
Excellent food and service. Highlights included black cuttlefish with artichoke and chocolate lava cake. Incredibly friendly service.
Delicious food, great service.
Very traditional family osteria. Wonderful sea food and very very kind owner
Great food and service!
Very good, simple, and clean dishes, tasty and fresh. Extremely fast and courteous service. (We had to wait quite a while for a table, but as soon as we sat down, we were served within minutes.) A maze of small rooms, one of which was almost freezing, and prices perhaps a little above average.
A very family-friendly osteria, very simple, and with home-cooked food. Very reasonably priced. The service was extremely friendly, and they had no problem accommodating me at a table for one, since I was traveling alone. Regarding the kitchen, the panissetti were too salty, the stocafisso tasted a bit flat, and the olives were bitter... maybe it was a poor selection, but considering the fantastic food in Italy, I have to give it an "OK" rating.
A small place with just a few tables but a very friendly atmosphere. The menu includes many delicious dishes I would have tried, so I simply said, "I'll leave it to you, choose the dishes for me," and I didn't regret it. We started with a simple but delicious appetizer accompanied by an excellent Russian salad. I highly recommend the squid ink pacchieri with cherry tomatoes, anchovies, and Cetara anchovy sauce. For the main course, uccelletto (a cut of poultry) with Ligurian herbs and potatoes. Good selection of wines.
Forced sales and other dishonest practices. 2 stars because at least the food was good.
Food was not bad but it was literally 5 pieces of pacheri per person. We ordered the same but it seems that he cooked for 1 and divided in 3 portions. 50 eur in total. Felt scammed.
