Aperto a pranzo e cena, escluso la domenica, il nostro ristorante accoglie sia chi desidera un pasto veloce da asporto, sia chi preferisce godersi un'esperienza più rilassata in sala. Mezza Luna Via Monte Grappa Reviews
Excellent in every way . We loved it so much we went both days we were in Orvieto. Owner is spectacular , hard working, welcoming, and committed to providing a culinary experience that is high quality and unforgettable to anyone and everyone who recognises good food. All at an amazing price . An absolute gem.
A truly wonderful experience. Of course the carbonara is excellent, but a veal with lemon sauce was also terrific.
Just got out from dinner. What a fantastic experience. My wife heard about it from Rick Steves. Verdura Cotta, sautéed chicory was a 10 as was the spaghetti carbonara, and I don’t even like bacon. The atmosphere is very local with a sprinkling of Americans. Antonio is the star of the show. Just go!
Food was amazing! We had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara and the Lombrichelle all’ Amatriciana. The carbonara rich and plenty. We liked the Amatriciana better with its touch of spicy and flavor. We shared the Veal with mushrooms.excellent flavor. I had the house red. It was busy from the start. So no real interaction with server. I would have like to ask more questions, but not possible here. Reservations a must. Our host from our Airbnb made us a reservation. We went back a second time we liked it so much. Prices good along with the sides we had.
Wonderful literal hole in the wall. This restaurant was recommended by a local and it did not disappoint. Their signature dish is carbonara, but our waiter suggested an antipasti and a few pastas to share. A+ excellent experience. We arrived right at opening and were seated for lunch without a reservation. The place was packed by 1:00.
You know when people talk about the life-changing meal they had that one time in Italy blablabla, yeah well this is the place and the carbonara is the meal. You may want to fast for a month before you order it because it is huuuge. Honestly. It's enormous and so good (image shows one portion split on two plates). As you're sitting in this little cave of a restaurant you can see a tiny lady through the kitchen window making it in the back. The Chef. The service is very nice too. The lighting is flourescent and unflattering but you're not here to look good, you're here to have your life changed.
was doubtful if this was truly the "best carbonara" in italy. boy was i wrong. the carbonara took up 200% of the plate, and every bite of it was good. usually my palate gets bored after a few bites of carbonara but miraculously that never happened with this plate! there was in my opinion only one bad thing: there was a LOT of carbonara. but im not protesting here. 10 euros for this much carbonara is the most worth it meal ive had in italy so far. would definitely come here again! we also ordered a meat platter to accompany the carbohydrate bomb that is the carbonara, and it was too very flavourful! for those saying that they were disappointed it was closed, i agree that 1.5h of opening time from 7pm-8:30pm is not very long, but please try to make the effort to come to this place for your meal within this tight time slot! service was not anything too special, but the owner was very friendly! the wines also good btw hands down the best carbonara ive had
Orvieto is quiet and friendly smallish town in Umbria and the food there is exquisite. Mezza Luna is no exception with some outstanding dishes severed by wonderful people in a very "homey" restaurant setting. Nonna would be happy here. The carbonara was very rich, delicious and a fantastic breakfast since I had to take half back to the hotel, it was sooooo much food! This was our last restaurant to visit in Orvieto and we were so happy to have made it in with no reservation. The staff was very generous and graceful to our needs. It will be a joy to revisit this restaurant when we move to our house in February next year. Finche non ci incontreremo di nuovo.
My husband and I stopped here for lunch today. We had a mixed salad, tomato bruschetta and pasta carbonara. Everything was fresh and delicious. The pasta portions were big, I could only eat half only because it didn't fit in my belly! Friendly service and a beautiful rustic setting. Credit cards accepted.
As a group of 6 we really enjoyed our evening, fantastic value dinner, wonderful homemade pasta, real local feel about the restaurant with the majority of dining being Italian. Chilled beers good local Ovieto wine and freshly homemade tiramisu. Give it a try. You will need to book either by phone or visiting in advance.

My husband, my sister in law and I were looking for a restaurant that was open on a Monday evening and happened upon this place. It had gotten great reviews, especially for its carbonara. The reality…
This charming restaurant is a must when visiting Orvieto! We made reservations which you need to do since so busy and at 1p we went in and had the most popular thing on the menu Carbonara! It is he…
The Spaghetti Carbonara was fantastic. Provided a table when most seemed reserved, and although I struggled with Italian, the server made my life easier. I recommend this dish. Restaurant is some…
I ate lunch here two days in a row. Excellent food with attentive staff. Meals are sizable and seems to be a local hangout. Great visit.

The meal was arranged by our Rick Steves tour guide, not one of the included meals, but an extra that everyone paid for because the food and wine were so good and the price ridiculously reasonable.…

I have never had such amazing pasta! Never. The owner made meal recommendations for us. While everything was very good- the pasta was the very best. It was exactly what we wanted. And the house w…
We’ve been coming to Orvieto for many years now, and Mezza Luna is one of our favorites. It’s tiny, rustic, no frills - but consistently has terrific food at reasonable prices. His pasta carbonar…
We had dinner here based upon the reviews and were not disappointed. My wife had spaghetti alla Amatriciana and I had a pork chop (braciola di maiale). Her pasta was cooked properly and the sauce …
We liked this place because it felt very authentic and we were the only no Italians in the place. We arrived 5 mins before closing time and the owner was nice enough to take us. We did not try the carbonara, and after reading the reviews I regret it. However, what we did order was really good
Pasta was good for what I expected. My usual gourmet self was not fully satisfied. But it was a good food experience. I can imagine meateaters coming here for the good pasta carbonara. ! We had to make a reservation the day before! Also a big clutural shock is almost all proper restaurants having siesta from 13:00-16:00 and being open only for 1,5h on lunch time and later on dinner
I do not understand the other reviews. This was extremely mediocre pasta. You can get something similar at just about any other pasta place in Rome, Florence, or any American town with a “local I…
We had read very positive reviews from a couple of sources, so we were eager to try this restaurant. We were turned away the first night because we didn't have a reservation, but we were able to ma…
On recommendation of our daughter in law we went here for lunch and had the spaghetti carbonara. It did live up to her description and we are glad we made the effort. It really was yummy and quite different to what I expected. Big serve and very reasonably priced. Shared zuppa inglese and had coffee each. All up €33 which included 1/2 litre Orvieto red wine, no wonder a holiday in Australia seems expensive in comparison.
