Ristorante trattoria La Botte, nel cuore della vecchia Stresa. Tutto delizioso, ambiente, cucina e servizio. La proprietaria, Matilde merita un premio per la speciale accoglienza e attenzione ai dettagli. Stra raccomandato. Peccato che abbiano chiuso definitivamente.

Esperienza favolosa. Matilde ci ha accolto coccolandoci e facendoci sentire a nostro agio anche se sprovvisti di prenotazione. Solo mezz'ora di attesa. E poi che piatti, bellissimi e dal sapore divino. Cura dei dettagli e degli ospiti. Dolci diversi dal solito, presentati con eleganza. Un posto dove tornare sicuramente. Piatti aggiornati secondo stagione e studiati dallo chef. Ricerca degli ingredienti, insomma...top! Complimenti.

Piccola trattoria nel centro storico di Stresa, locale ben curato nei dettagli, pulito e cantina vini molto particolare,cucina a vista, conduzione familiare. Il mio voto è 5 stelle, abbiamo preso 1 antipasto tagliere di salumi con formaggi e confettura di pere, abbondante (lo abbiamo diviso) come primo un tortello allo stacotto, gusto deciso ma delicato al palato , mezzemaniche alla toma e bresaola su consiglio del titolare, direi ottime, 2 calici di Nebbiolo acqua conto onestissimo. A completare l esperienza culinaria la cordialità l efficienza e la cura per il cliente che hanno la proprietaria e suo figlio. Lo consiglio per tutto.

Ristorante a conduzione famigliare, molto accogliente, il risotto con cioccolato , formaggio di capra e zucca "spaziale" veramente buonissimo, Capriolo con castagne e zucca eccellente, il dolce anche molto buono, consiglio vivamente il posto , consiglio anche la prenotazione.

Siamo stati in questo ristorante per la prima volta, ma la voglia di tornare è stata immediata! Il personale è molto professionale e gentile, in particolare la signora Matilde! Il cibo ottimo, dall'antipasto al secondo...la carne di agnello e il maialino sono stati semplicemente fantastici. La carne morbida e saporita al punto giusto. Buono anche il dolce...c'è una carta dei dolci variegata e originale. Per concludere, il locale risulta essere tranquillo e molto accogliente.

This place was recommended by staff at our hotel. Our meal, and the entire experience could not have been more perfect. Kind and helpful staff, amazing food and wine, a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. We started with a selection of meats and Alpine cheeses. I will be dreaming about the risotto with pumpkin, goat cheese and dark chocolate for a long time! It was one of the best things I have ever tasted! My husband's pork was perfect, as was the apple cake we shared. Do make a reservation here. Highly recommend.

A wonderful experience. The hostess and her son are passionate and charming. The food is innovative. Sabrefish was a first. The peas and lemon tart amazing. Great wine list. Clerico’s Langhe performs better than the cheaper Barolos. Stresa deserves a place like this.

Obviously i’m not a local. If you’re visiting then you’ve definitely got to try this restaurant. For me it was a little pricey, but worth every penny the meat was tender and full of flavor. The French fries were the best tasting fries I have ever had in my life. I should’ve found out what kind of potato they used so I could make them myself. The dessert was the only item that left me unfulfilled. Give this place a try.

I came here with my girlfriend for dinner as every other restaurant in the town seemed to be full. We were warmly welcomed by the waitress who was very polite and kind. She was always available to give us nice suggestions. We ordered a starter, two main dishes and a cup of wine and all of them were amazing. As a starter I ordered a selection of cheese and cured meat of the area that was spectacular. As a second dish we ordered pasta with foam and capocollo ragù and fried lake fish with season vegetables. Overall really really good food and experience.

Abbiamo cenato in questo ristorante grazie a The Fork, ordinando 2 antipasti e 2 secondi chiudendo con un conto di circa 40€ a testa. I piatti sono giusti, ma non abbondanti. Molto gustosa la pluma di maiale e anche la tartare di manzo. Forse un po' troppa cipolla di accompagnamento in ogni piatto che è stato servito. I secondi vengono indicati con "contorno incluso" ma di fatto vi è solo dell' impiattamento aggiuntivo. Servizio eccellente e veloce. Non accettano The Fork pay, il che non è molto carino, dato che al momento si guadagnano molti punti e, soprattutto, bastarebbe togliere l'opzione.

Locale molto curato e carino. Cibo buono e rapporto qualità prezzo giusto. Ambiente molto accogliente e personale cordiale e disponibile. Lo consiglio a chi vuole cenare bene e pagare il giusto.

Mangiato bene anche se a mio parere un po caruccio...servizio preparato, anche se secondo me dovrebbero proporre un menù degustazione!!consiglio comunque e complimenti x i dolci erano fantastici..nulla togliere alle altre portate!!

The compositions of the food where a little bit adventurous and didn’t always match the components. The dumplings where almost drowned im sauce and randomly sprinkled all over the plate. The rabbit tasted ok lacked substance and didn’t matched well with the caper mouse. The tatar was a little to coarsely and was tasteless so that I had to order pepper and salt (which should come automatically with tatar) All in all we didn’t felt that welcome and service was constantly switching and not one person even if we came early. Besides the side bread we got was not fresh over all and very hard and dry.

Honestly, I was really disappointed in this restaurant. When I (guy with a lot of tattoos) walked in I immediately felt judged by the staff. No eye contact and took barely any time for us. We both wanted the trout spaghetti but this was not available anymore- which they failed to tell us beforehand as they were seating us as quick as humanly possible. My girlfriend ordered the ravioli and I ordered the risotto instead. The ravioli contained 7 small pieces: the quality was not much better than other pasta’s we have tried around Stresa yet you pay twice as much for it. The risotto was similar quality-wise; overall the taste was decent but the dark chocolate overpowered so much that there was not much flavor to taste otherwise. We considered dessert but after the waitress wouldn’t really give us the time of day, we opted to get a nice pizza and a panna cotta elsewhere- as we were still hungry when we left. I could have lived with the portion sizes being so incredibly small- but the way we felt treated is inexcusable. Would not recommend. Edit: the bread was weirdly stale. Felt like it was atleast a couple of days old.

Disappointing Experience Despite the Hype. I recently visited this restaurant, drawn by the buzz surrounding its Michelin star. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. First, the ambiance is almost non-existent — no thought seems to have gone into the design or atmosphere. The interior is bare and uninviting, and to make matters worse, there’s no air conditioning. Dining in such conditions, especially on a warm day, made it hard to enjoy the meal. Service was equally underwhelming. The owner greeted me with a smile, but it felt more forced than friendly — the kind of politeness that lacks genuine warmth. As for the food, which should be the highlight: the portions were surprisingly small, even for a fine-dining place, and nothing on the plate stood out. The flavors were bland, presentation basic, and overall it was difficult to understand what earned this place a Michelin star in the first place. In short, the restaurant relies heavily on its reputation rather than delivering a truly special dining experience. I left hungry and unimpressed. There are plenty other restaurants in Stresa with a Michelin star which are better.
