Oriental Viale - Avenue Du Conseil Des Commis Reviews
I've known this restaurant for a while now and I've never been disappointed. The staff is welcoming and friendly, the food is truly delicious, and the quality is excellent for a reasonable price. We ordered the royal couscous and merguez sausage, which we thoroughly enjoyed, and finished with a delicious mint tea 🍵 for good digestion. It's always a pleasure to eat there; I highly recommend it 😊
Hello, As a regular customer since 2017/2018, I highly recommend this restaurant. It's a small, family-run place where the couscous is simply delicious, cooked to perfection, and incredibly flavorful. In short, you get the picture: if you're in Strasbourg and craving couscous, this is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal! The gentleman who runs the restaurant is always very welcoming, and you feel right at home. He even takes the time to chat while still being attentive, and the service is incredibly fast, both in the dining room and the kitchen. I should also mention that the mint tea is absolutely delicious, and with a touch of pine nuts, it has a lovely roasted almond/hazelnut flavor. It's also wonderful 🥰 Thank you to L'Oriental Couscous for existing!
First time at this wonderful restaurant, and we'll be back with great pleasure. The couscous was divine (we had a Merguez couscous and a Royale). Not to mention the kir and mint tea, which were delicious. The welcome was perfect. The manager is adorable. Both very professional and very concerned that customers have everything they need. No complaints. It was great.
A lovely discovery. Having seen photos and reviews circulating on a FB group, I decided to take my children there for dinner. The welcome was warm. The Tunisian couscous was delicious and generous! With carrots, turnips, leeks, celery stalks, chickpeas, broad beans, and a subtly spicy sauce. The meats were excellent, cooked beautifully! The tea and oriental cakes, a rare treat, weren't too sweet, making them a welcome addition after a hearty meal! The owner came to chat with us on several occasions and extended our stay by offering us a second glass of tea and more oriental cakes. If you enjoy a friendly, family atmosphere, I recommend stopping by. If you like couscous, I invite you to try their homemade recipe! A big thank you to him and his wife for a lovely evening.
Very Great food, super nice Owner. Will be back again, it was a pleasure.
It was a very authentic experience. The food was absolutely delicious and the prices are very reasonable for the quantities. Don’t mind asking for more legumes and Couscous. The owner gave good advice on what to order. All around top restaurant experience
The couscous, the setting and the customer service was oustanding! Definitely recommend to go there and grab a nice cold beer with the couscous.
Looking for a good couscous in Strasbourg? You’re in luck as you just came across the best one in town! Great service and wonderful food (their homemade harissa is a killer!), would definitely recommend

Best couscous I've had. The acceuille is one of the friendliest I've had in France. This restaurant is not to far from the Meinau stadium and has easy access to the highways. One of my favorite restaurants to change from the local french food.
Very friendly place. Even though English apparently doesn't really work there, we were treated very nicely and the food was simple but lovely.
Prix correct. Nous avons réservé.
The place is nice and the person serving people there is friendly. The reason for 3 stars though is that, I ordered Chicken Couscous and sadly the chicken was too bad to the limit that for me it was not edible. The chicken's flavor was tasting like the chicken that are not perfectly cleaned before cooking, or it was in their fridge for too long that its no longer fresh, I don't know! So, I had to leave it aside. Thought, the guy explained to us that the quality of the chicken in the area isn't so good, thats why not many people prefer to order chicken. He said he could change it to me if I would tell him from the beginning. Nevertheless, the Couscous with the vegetables was nice, we also got Merguez and meat balls and they were ok! The tea was also good.
We have been there in family with a little baby on Saturday evening. The food and service were bad ; there are few stairs to climb up from the street to get in the restaurant, the opening Door is a bit heavy to open, we didn’t get any Help from the Restaurant personals neither for getting in not by leaving 😢 We ordered a ROYAL MENU with others; in Royal menu there was only a little brochettes, a mini Marguez and a little Boulette only (with a price 27€)!! For drinks : ordered a limonade additionally, it wasn’t explained that is in a Bottle (not fresh and homemade at all), the service man come and open the Bottle without asking us, if we wanted it or not!!! NEVER EVER AGAIN TO THIS RESTAURANT!

Wrong timings updated, at 20h30 they turn you down saying there is no service. Indeed a shame, i am free to give me views if you can’t take them i can’t help. there is no update on google that you are not served after 8pm it says open till 10pm so amend your info. And you offered us nothing so don’t even say so. And your tables were empty you had enough place but you did not want to entertain it’s your choice, to give a feedback is my choice !
My wife and me went in February from south Germany to try the full garnished couscous in that place, which is normally a pretty big dish for arround 40 euro since we enjoy eating together. All what we got from the owner is: i sell only a dish per person. And he insisted that he won't sell otherwise. That smartie seems to ignore the french: Article L121-11 du code de consommation. Funny how he wasn't happy with 40 euro though, when one dish costed arround 15 euro. Not good in maths maybe? Doesn't look promising for your business mister! Enjoy your loss.
