Capocotta Vico MacElli Reviews
Tappa obbligata in riviera. Locale accogliente, nel centro storico
CAPPON MAGRO VERAMENTE BUONO, FATTO IL TRIS, LO CONSIGLIO, COME TUTTO IL RESTO,VINI E COCKTAIL COMPRESI. PREZZI TROPPO BASSI PER LA QUALITÀ, CONSIGLIO DI AUMENTARE I PREZZI.
Cena molto buona,l'idea delle tapas molto bella! Servizio perfetto....
A must-try in Sestri Levante Capocotta is one of the few places in Sestri with a truly original menu, different from the usual copycat dishes. The food and drink are always excellent: perfect for an aperitif, dinner, or an after-dinner drink. The Moscow Mule is unmissable, the best in Liguria! On Saturday, I tried the red tuna tartare (wonderful!) and the ceviche, while my vegetarian sister loved the sailor's bread (made veggie by the super-helpful staff) and the parmesan gnocchi. The perfect finish was with Chantilly and raspberry tartlets. I've been coming back for years, and each time is a confirmation. Highly recommended!
A charming atmosphere, excellent cocktails, excellent cuisine featuring the freshest local ingredients, and a friendly and knowledgeable staff create an unforgettable experience. A perfect place to relax and enjoy the best of Sestri Levante, just steps from the enchanting Bay of Silence. A must-try!
A guarantee. The food and drink are excellent, the staff is very kind and knowledgeable (even accommodating special requests), and the service is just the right amount of time to spend an evening without rushing. We ordered tapas, a first course, and desserts, and we couldn't decide which we liked best—perhaps the pork cube and the Mupa, but that's more down to personal taste than anything else. The ingredients are top-quality, and the kitchen knows how to manage and showcase them. Don't make the mistake of leaving without dessert; it would be a real shame.
Looking for a restaurant that's different from the typical Italian fare? This is definitely the place for you! We stumbled across this restaurant by chance and received excellent service. As for DRINKS, they have a super extensive wine list. However, we'd seen that the cocktails looked good, so we opted for those. We ordered a Nik and a Saink, both herbal and a great combination. It's definitely worth trying one of them, as they're all sophisticated and carefully selected. As for the FOOD, we weren't very hungry, so we only ordered two dishes (they call them tapas). The prices are around €10-12 and they're quite elaborate. We chose the guancette di rana (it's NOT frog, but frogfish), and the 62-degree organic egg. Both were very interesting and met our expectations. It's definitely a place to return to and try other dishes. Great job!
Very nice
The Capocotta is a really amazing restaurant with fantastic courts and a really good wine selection. The service is friendly but not stiff. All courts are created by themself with much creativity. We spent three days in Sestri Levante and have been two times at Capocotta. The Location is cool and the menu is exquisite. My wife and me had much fun with the music. They played a good selection of the 80's and we were the only ones who know the music when it was published.
Good italian tapas
We decided to experiment and trust Stefano with the cocktail selection: a Sea Breeze: Vodka, cranberry juice, grapefruit juice & an Aperol Sour (YUMMY! The best "spritz" I've ever tasted): Lemon, sugar, vodka, orange, Aperol, Mojito-based cocktail with limoncello & GEMITO Cocktail: Donkey, Campari, carpano & orange bitters. For appetizers, we ordered 3 tapas: Tuna tataki, glazed with sweet and sour, buffalo mozzarella (excellent, very fresh fish) Umami: beef tartare, anchovy sauce, raw scampi, quail egg (it melted in your mouth) Double mini burger: - Fassona beef, cheddar, marinated onion, BBQ sauce - Cod in oil, purple eggplant cream, mint All served with warm focaccia. Recommended, I will come back to try other tapas (all very interesting)
Top😀
A rare find, combining professionalism, passion, experimentation, and tradition, every detail is designed to amaze the eyes and palate of those who stop by for dinner. A restaurant that represents a different, more contemporary and attentive side of Liguria, worthy of praise for both its quality and the kindness and professionalism of its owners. UNFORGETTABLE TARTARE ❤️
A lovely old restaurant with friendly staff. The menu is limited, but beautifully presented and prepared with quality ingredients. The lean capon was excellent, but I didn't like the herb ravioli in meat sauce because the flavor of the ragù overpowered the ravioli. We'll be back to try other dishes, though.
A very nice place with a great idea for a different dinner/aperitif based on appetizers in a charming little square in Sestri. The cocktails are excellent. The tuna is truly delicious. The double mini burger is good, but the mustard covers the fish too much. Overall, the food is good, and the staff is friendly. The prices are quite high, but worth it given the quality and sophistication.
Restaurant has a Michelin sticker on its menu, indicating a certain type of food and service. Also setting expectations from us as customers. Inattentive service, waiters did not keep track of how many dishes we had ordered and if they had been served. The ceviche bathed in the same tomato and vinegar soup as the octopus. Could not really taste a difference. The supposedly signature anchovy on bread was the most disappointing. The bread was so stale it actually jumped of my plate onto the table as I tried to first cut it. The dried oregano or basil on top was no more Michelin than what I can manage in my own kitchen. Would not recommend and would not return.
Not good... all the dishes we tried were either bad or nothing special. Limited selection and poor quality, nothing like the photos online. We won't be back!
the worst dinner ive had in italy, maybe even in my life. the service was poor and it was really hard to order since noboy understood english and didnt even try to communicate with body language or pointing at menues. the coctails were horrible. super sweet and undrinkable. we got our first courses before we even had a chance to look at the wine menue. one of my friends are allergic to fish and asked if it was okey, if they could make the biff tartar without fish (they have fish in it). he just got a plate with raw steak and thats it. still payed the same ammount. i ordered the fish tartar which was four different raw fishes without salt, lemon or anything. just finely chopped fish and shellfish. no texture. no taste except for the fattyness of the fish. didnt finish the plate by far. felt sick afterwards.
