DORADO Vila-seca Reviews
Fuimos a cenar 3 personas.
Incredible meal with excellent service. Lovely and comfortable atmosphere as well. Highly recommend!
Food is awesome, you can taste the quality. Service is quick and waiters were all so nice and friendly. Comfortable tables and nice athmosphere with soft music gave the final touch to this amazing experience we had (2 adult and 2 kids)! Only one thing I would highly recommend: revamp the paper menu style as it seems like one of many bars, a bit confusioning with too many pages and might not give you the right idea of this wonderful restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner and experience here. The setting is beautiful with views of the Mediterranean Sea. Delicious seafood and exceptional service. Violet, our very competent server, made our evening special. Also the decor of the restaurant is beautiful. You can tell the owner pays attention to small details.
Great spot to eat in La Pineda, very authentic with a superb wine list and excellent choice of Paellas. Lovely views over the beach and lots of Spanish families eating here. They give you little plates of fried shrimp while you’re waiting to order - a cut above many of the other eateries in the area.
They said it is the best “arrozeria” in Tarragona and I believe it. We ordered their special paella with seafood and it was delicious, the portions are really generous and the rice was perfect cooked. Besides, The staff is polite and gentle. Take into account that they have to prepare your paella from zero so it can take around 30 minutes until they can serve it, but it is worth it. Also, if you come in peak season book in advance, otherwise you won’t get a seat. They work in turns so you either go for lunch at 13pm or 15pm.

It was an amazing experience, the waiters treated us like never before in a restaurant
This is a lovely restaurant, it struck me as one of the higher end restaurants in La Pineda and it didn't disappoint. The food was tasty, arrived quickly and the portion size was generous! The drinks are relatively expensive but they also don't do measures for spirits. The staff are incredibly professional and can't do enough for you to make your time there great. Sea views, right on the beach, which is a big bonus. The only thing I would say that let the restaurant down is the physical appearance of the menu. The atmosphere of the restaurant, uniforms of the staff, tables and food presentation are clearly higher end, but the appearance of the menu says budget/outdated. This is definitely a minor point, but is something that immediately struck me. Regardless I would recommend eating here and will definitely return if I end up back in La Pineda.
For our first night in La Pineda we thought it a pretty safe bet to go to the busiest restaurant we saw, and we weren’t disappointed! Sea view table, friendly staff, delicious paella and complimentary mini shrimp and super warm fresh bread. The hake marinara however was a little underwhelming - the fish itself was lovely but the sauce rather boring. A little expensive in comparison to some of the other restaurants of similar quality, but worth it for the service and view/atmosphere. And generous paella portions!
A lively, big and popular place to eat at a busy location in La Pineda. They have a lot of dishes to choose from. We had a very nice paella, wel prepared and more than enough. Friendly waiters. They work a lot with young staff or holiday workers but they did well. Some details could be better like more tissues, cleaner glasses and cleaner toilets.
Having lived in the area for nearly two years now we have always wanted to dine here as it purports to be a fairly decent arroceria. It has an extensive range of the different types of paellas, so there’s something for everyone. We ordered the valenciana (sausage/chicken/rabbit) for three. We’re not huge eaters so we just shared pan con tomate at our ‘primera’ and also we heard the Paellas were large portioned. One other observation from the menu is that the wine selection is huge with some priced as high at €1700! The rice was very good but the meats were quite poor. That said I’ve always been critical of why paellas are held in such high regard. Give me a high end risotto every time. Service was decent for a Spanish restaurant (table service is not Spain’s forte).

We visited on a Saturday evening and ordered Salmon Al Cava & a Grilled entrecôte steak. The entrecôte was very nice, good size and well presented. The salmon was also well presented but tasted of nothing and squeaked against your teeth, it was not good and as it was €25 I had no choice but to send it back. The waiters were nice about it and allowed me to order something else so I had the carbonara which was nice and good value. The environment is nice, not overcrowded, nice music playing and waiters were friendly. Did also forget to open my beer bottle when serving it. We also got complementary prawns which was a nice touch. I think some of the items on the menu are much too overpriced but since the service was good and they were able to rectify the issue I still left happy and would say it’s satisfactory place to visit.

Omg,just avoid this place . Service and atmosphere - 0 . Everything started from our waiter( Blond woman), extremely unprofessional attitude and rude. After a small conversation with her at the beginning we already wanted to leave, but had to stay cause we booked table and it was quite late to go and look for something else. Food was lovely, that’s for sure, apart of “grilled octopus” that wasn’t really grilled but just boiled? After we politely asked to take that octopus back, because we didn’t like it,they’ve started making issues like we don’t know anything about how food being cooked and it’s 100% grilled octopus. Anyways, after that all staff been just talking about us and pointing at us from the other corner of the restaurant, which was completely disrespectful and awful. All locals who’s been sitting around us and speaking Spanish ,not English, been treated differently, especially a single man who’s been sitting just next to us and she was looking after him as well, she was flirting with him and always winking at him,but when it was time to come to our table she rolled her eyes without hiding her displeasure. Never again !!!

No recomendable.
We came to the restaurant with high hopes, drawn in by its reputation for delicious seafood dishes. Unfortunately, our experience was far from what we anticipated. We ordered the seafood paella with extra seafood, which came at a higher price. When the dish arrived, it looked promising—but the taste was a complete disaster. The seafood was simply inedible, with an overwhelming muddy flavor that ruined the entire meal. It was clear that the ingredients were of very poor quality, and after just a few bites, our appetite was completely gone. While the service and ambiance were decent, it’s hard to enjoy the atmosphere when the food is this bad. To make matters worse, a man—possibly the owner—was seated nearby, watching every move we made, which made it impossible to relax. We did inform the waiter about the poor quality of the food, and all we were offered was a limoncello. Sadly, that didn’t make up for the fact that we left hungry and disappointed. Overall, we do not recommend this restaurant. The food-to-price ratio is a tragedy, and no amount of decent service can make up for an inedible meal.
We've been to the restaurant several times, the paella and sangria are very tasty. But the service is terrible. When we came last time, we were asked at the entrance if we could come in just for drinks, the waiter walked around asking someone for a long time, but they still gave us a table. When another waitress came, hearing only drinks in the order, she grimaced, not hiding her displeasure at all. It was very uncomfortable to be there. Unfortunately, we won't come here again.
Food was good, but service was lacking, no cutlery, especially for the lobster, no crackers, wasn’t asked if we wanted any more drinks, and no one asked if our food was ok. Also no hand wipes after handling food/FISH , and had to keep asking for the Bill.
