Cosa dire....qui sanno davvero cucinare dei piatti che ricorderai per sempre...come i raviolini del plin al tartufo....o la frittura di pesce.... o la zuppa di cipolle.... in 5 giorni ci siamo stati 3 volte fra pranzo/cena . Sicuramente ritorneremo in vacanza ( da Carrara ) in questi posti meravigliosi e sicuramente ritorneremo a mangiare piatti deliziosi in questo ristorante curato e con personale professionale ed accogliente. bravi continuate così

I discovered it by chance while browsing restaurants in the Domodossola area on Google Maps, and in the end I decided not only to eat there but also to sleep there, and I must say it was the perfect choice. First and foremost, the helpfulness and hospitality of the staff. The lady who welcomed me made me feel at home right away and accommodated all my requests, even before I arrived. The hotel is rustic in style, housed in the rooms of an ancient palazzo in the small historic center of Vogogna. The furnishings are basic, but the rooms are very spacious and warm. It's wonderful to wake up in the morning to the sound of the bells of the nearby church and the mountains of the Ossola Valley. The price is incredibly affordable (€50/night in a single room + a croissant and cappuccino for breakfast). As for the restaurant, I was lucky enough to try it for dinner upon my arrival, and I must say the dishes were all delicious, from the marinated Fassona beef tartare with truffle mustard to the raviolini del plin with fondue and saffron sprouts—everything was exquisite and prepared without being pretentious. I really enjoyed the menu, featuring local specialties. Well done! The atmosphere is reminiscent of times gone by, with the typical warmth of a tavern. I highly recommend this place, both for the food and as an excellent stopover for nearby Domodossola and the foliage train. I'll be back. Thanks for everything.

We went there on August 15th, booking ahead of time, 8 of us, I'm a vegetarian, but not all of us got a first and second course. I had a delicious risotto with mushrooms and blueberries, my grandchildren devoured pappardelle with hare ragù. My daughter-in-law's tagliata was delicious and so was my husband's tartare. Quality local and goat cheeses, the desserts were fabulous, the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. If we're in the area again, we'll be back, and there's a beautiful castle to visit just 5 minutes away. ☺️

A charming and romantic location, the staff are kind, professional, and above all welcoming. The dishes are delicious and generous. I love the tagliolini with pistachio cream and shrimp...the prices are fair. The Borgo is an excellent side dish.

Il Vecchio Borgo is the kind of restaurant you wish you had right on your doorstep. An enchanting atmosphere in the heart of a stunning village, with a perfect outdoor terrace for al fresco dining. Impeccable service, punctual, kind, and very attentive. The cuisine is superb. I had raw beef with truffles and parmesan, cavatelli with mussels and clams, and a rib-eye steak with baked potatoes. Everything was excellent: top-quality ingredients that are respected and enhanced, generous portions, and perfectly cooked (the rare steak was exactly as requested). And the price? Only €53.20 for a full dinner at a high-end restaurant. A truly rare value. Kudos to the staff; Il Vecchio Borgo is a true gem. I'll definitely be back!

Gruppo di 8 persone prenotato un tavolo esterno, giorni prima con duplice conferma( due giorni differenti) arriviamo come previsto alle h13 e la proprietaria in modo sgarbato ci dice che possiamo mangiare solo all'interno(sala gremita di gente e non climatizzata) in alternativa ci dice di aspettare per 30 min senza assicurarci il posto all'esterno ( la cucina cmq avrebbe chiuso alle 14h) La mia amica( già cliente del ristorante) e festeggiata è rimasta molto delusa. Per fortuna non esiste solo il loro ristorante nella zona!
