Tribal Cafe W Temple St Reviews
Omg this place surprised me in so many good ways! Forst of all, very nice staff. Then, a huge menu for needs of everyone! And the taste of the food is really good. I love the amount of smoothies and mushroom shakes. I got number #3 'Sundance' with berries, almond butter, and cocoa powder. So good! Im coming for more of these adaptogenic shakes, that's for sure. Then I got gluten-free vegan sandwich with hummus and tempeh. So fresh and lovely, the tempeh was marinated at their place, so it really tasted homemade. The selection of desserts and cakes is also great. We tried the vegan chocolate and carrot cake. So yummy, seriously, you would not recognize that it is vegan. The chocolate cake was sooo fluffy, and the carrot cake was very flavorful. We are coming back, that's for sure!
Really yummy. They had substitutions that fit my specific dietary needs (gluten and dairy free). The sandwich felt substantial, and the GF bread was really good.
Everything about this place is amazing. Breakfast, smoothies, juices, salads. I swear by the Buddha bowl, perfect healthy cleanse after a holiday binge. Wait time can be long, you can order ahead. New restyling has the place looking beautiful!
The best drip coffee I have purchased in years. Just like I make it at home, not at all bitter, smooth and perfect to drink black. The most unique acai bowl I've ever had, tasty, fresh and no unnecessary sweetener. Getting to eat it out of a beautiful hand made ceramic bowl with a real spoon was perfection.
BEST place ever - tons of flavorful, healthy, absolutely delicious options! We tried the classic Acai bowl and Kyoto wrap. Both were beyond excellent. Service was fast and the owners are welcoming, friendly and made you feel like you came home to a loving family. We can’t wait to go back!
I’ve been going to Tribal Cafe for years and I’ve always loved the food and service. I went yesterday and for the first time ordered the vegan black bean burger and it was delicious. I’m going to say that it is my PERSONAL favorite burger in LA. I think it’s great that they offer beyond meat if people want it as an option but after so many burgers like that, eating a house made black bean tempeh patty like that is absolutely perfect. It’s not a traditional burger but it’s everything I want. Love this spot!
YUM! Bagel sandwiches were filling, yet refreshing. Also got the shroom smoothie, which ended up being my favorite item that I got. Vanilla latte was super delicious too. They have an extensive menu so can’t wait to try the other items and enjoy in person.
Tasty bohemian health food...tons of fresh, crunchy salads, tasty soft bread and bagel sandwiches! Greens, fruit, and shrimp smoothies, juices and shakes. Yum-yum deserts! All in a funky, bohemian café that reminds mt of my days wandering through the purple haze as a student up at UC Berkeley (Go Bears!) 1st time here but most certainly not the last!
I've been here 3days in a row. I finally found the best hiddem gem coffee place in LA. Their acai bowls are incredibly fresh, rich, and flavorful, with a wonderful balance of flavors. The containers aren't small, making them convenient to eat. I feel incredibly healthy every time I eat them, and actually quite healthy. I also enjoy the staff's vibes and jokes. This place is incredibly cozy and comfortable, yet also a relaxing space. I could probably eat here every day. I'm so glad I found the best acai bowl and coffee in LA. Plesse don't give up my 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ THE BEST EVER!
This is my favorite sandwich shop in LA. I love the chill informal vibe. Everyone who works here is nice. The menus are impressive. They have an excellent selection of juices and coffees. Their food menu is solid for omnivores and vegans. Perfect for a relaxing breakfast or lunch. It’s also perfectly located next to the freeway in case you need to get your lunch and go. There’s usually street parking and some spots in back. This part of Temple is also 5 ton friendly.
A tasty vegan experience in Los Angeles...we enjoyed a nice healthy lunch . This place has an extensive menu with lots of great options for the vegetarian or vegan. From wraps and sandwiches to Buddha bowls and salads ,Thai and Filipino influences even some Mexican food options. They serve breakfast as well. Lets just say theres alot on this menu so you will be able to find something for anyone ...reasonable prices and the coffee was good too.
We came here for lunch on a whim, because we had coffee nearby and were feeling peckish. I'm so glad we found this place! It's cute, it's clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food is not only healthy but delicious as well. The menu is vaaaaast, but they're super patient there with your questions. My husband ordered a smashed burger and I got a Southwest bowl. I also got another bowl to go, to bring with me on the plane back home. Looking forward to visiting again the next time I'm in Los Angeles!!
This place was really fun and felt like Haiti in the 1960s. Just in the sense that it felt kind of like a shack in a favela. But that’s only surface deep because the food was good. It also kind of felt like being lost in the 1960s counter culture with a menu that went on for a very, very long time.
I love this place. They have vegan and none vegan food. I got a tasty sandwich and also the vanilla cake-pop was amazing. Not normally a big fan, but this cake-pop was moist and not too sweet. Turns out they don’t make it with frosting the way cake pops are normally made. This was wayyy better I will most definitely buy more. My favorite are their juices too. The owner and employees are super nice peps also.
Small restaurant with a handful of dine-in tables, but with a HUGE menu selection of clearly labeled vegan and vegetarian options. The hot sandwiches were amazing. These sandwiches have personality! I had the Vegan Tree Hugger, while others in my party had the Vegetarian Tree Hugger and Vegetarian El Nino. We were all very happy with our sandwiches. Get extra napkins because these sandwiches are packed with good stuff, but gooey and messy. Will need to go back and try other items from their massive menu.
Tribal Cafe is a hippy cozy joint with a massive menu breakfast, smoothies, coffee drinks, sandwiches, and more. They're located along W. Temple st just north of DTLA. I arrived late Thursday morning to grab a coffee and breakfast. But changed my mind after seeing the food reviews. I asked for a Cafe Au Lait (Q2) but the old Filipino man cannot understand nor where in the menu it's at. I stated Q2 and it's just below Q1 (Brewed coffee). He misunderstood and thought I asked for a reg brewed coffee, they only carry one 16oz size btw. I was constraint in time, so I begrudgingly agreed. After a quick sip or two of my coffee, I thought it was ghastly! It wasn't brewed perfectly and it's too bloody roasted despite adding milk and sugar into it. For the love of coffee, this is by far the WORST coffee I ever had in my entire life. I banish my coffee to the nearest trash bin. And went for the coffee shop across the street. Atmosphere was relaxing. Interior layout and design were interesting. Menu list was massive and hard to read bec it was written in small Aerial font sharpie. Street parking only. Prices seem fair. Staff was incompetently professional. Service was ok. Overall, I had a bad coffee. And reluctant to try their other items on the menu.
What a disappointing experience. I had heard great things about this place and was genuinely excited to try it. When I arrived, I was the only person in the café. I ordered a vegetarian egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich—about as straightforward as it gets—and sat in the outdoor area. After waiting roughly 20 minutes, I went back inside to ask whether I should pick up my order or if it would be brought to the table. I was told it would be brought out. After another 10 minutes, the cashier informed me that my order had been given to someone else. Annoying, but I waited. Another 10–15 minutes passed, so I went back inside again, only to be handed a sandwich with the egg on the side. I’m honestly unsure how an egg-and-cheese breakfast sandwich turned into that. To make matters worse, during this entire time, 10–15 other customers came in, ordered, and received their food before I ever got mine.
Everything was okay until we found a piece of hair in my girlfriend’s sandwich, which was really nasty. We politely asked for a replacement and a freshly made sandwich, and we weren’t trying to make a big deal out of it. However, the original sandwich took about 20 minutes to prepare, while the “new” one was brought to us within just a few minutes — which made us suspect they simply gave us the same one again. No one offered us any apology, compensation, or even acknowledgment for the situation. We ended up eating my sandwich and leaving, disappointed with such a supposedly “nice and clean” place.
