This is my first visit here in over 12 years. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food and fast service. Their lunch prices are very reasonable especially with the cost of food now. I’ll definitely be coming back when wanting Thai food in the downtown area. Great spot for lunch downtown.

Great vegetarian options. A group of us ate lunch here. This place is a gold mine , and if you haven't been here , you really need to try it. I think most of the dishes were about $10-12?

Waco is blessed by this Thai restaurant and we are thankful. We’ve been supporters for years and are thankful for the consistently good food and good atmosphere. Whether takeout or dine in, you can count on Bangkok. We consistently get the pad kee mao, the pad Thai, Panang and green curry. Can’t go wrong with any of these.

Friend recommended and was not disappointed. The sticky rice was cooked to perfection, the pad khang was seasoned well, and the Thai teas was a great ending. Probably the same calories as a desert but not heavy on the stomach afterwards.

We have been dining at Bangkok Royal for about 15 years. Even before they moved to their current location. While sometimes there has been variations in a dish we have never been disappointed. The staff has has always been very friendly.

Our go to Thai place!! All dishes so far haven't disappointed!! The fried rice is yummy, but my favorites are any of their seafood plates. I really don't have a favorite which isn't always the case for me. I normally eat the same thing over and over again. Their  tom kha gai is yummy, not what I am used to, it lacks a bit lemongrass, (I understand the prices of lemongrass here is ridiculous!) but it's creamy and yummy nevertheless. The service is great!! Be prepared to wait a bit since as the sign say they are understaffed; however, we haven't had to wait too long for our food.

Fantastic food and service! Ask for more spice if you can handle it! Great iced coffee as well. Would definitely come again!

Our first time to this Thai restaurant. We ordered the appetizer combo and everything on it was good. For the main course, we ordered Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Beef Kana, Pad See Ew, and Garlic Pork. All dishes were good. For dessert, we ordered Coconut ice cream with Sticky rice. The ice cream is home made and was delicious. It tasted better with the sticky rice. We would definitely come back!

Great place to get some Thai food on your stop to Magnolia! The appetizer came out really fast and was delicious. My husband and I shared the drunken noodles and it was definitely more than enough to share between the two of us. The service was also very friendly and attentive. It’s a great place for authentic Thai food!

Great location right near the Brazos Riverwalk suspension Bridge area. A beautiful walk from major hotels and Baylor University. The food is good, Ginger soup was clean and refreshing, perfect for a cool evening. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) was good but not amazing. I was bummed that they no longer serve Fresh Rolls 😕. The restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent! I would definitely go back and try other menu items.

The flavors are great in the sauce. Plenty of vegetables. Good, but better option available in Waco. Rice needed some work.

Bangkok Royal was a good Thai place. I wanted a little more flavor to my dish (Pad Kee Mao) but I liked it. I always love Thai food.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting Waco. Had the Pad Kee Mao and the Green Curry, both hot spicy level. Both dishes were good with different aspects. Pork was the meat I chose for both. Really enjoyed the texture of the Pad Kee Mao noodles and the sautéed vegetables. The green curry was good too with the flavors I expected in a green curry. In particular I enjoyed the bamboo shoots and the sautéed carrots. The heat was perfect I would equate the hot spiciness to straight tobasco different flavor of course, but about that hot. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back.

Good place. The appetizer was amazing and I had really high hopes. The Pad Thai wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was still good. Yellow curry was delicious.

I love Bangkok Royal! In fact, I think I am obsessed. Perhaps I should share a bit of personal history to set the stage for why I love this restaurant so much. My wife is a Waco native and I hail from just north of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We met in New York City. She was working on her master's degree in education and found employment with a not-for-profit theater company on Broadway. I moved to The City for work as well, but nothing as glamorous as working on Broadway (managing housekeeping in hospitals)! Anyway, we met at a fantastic church on Staten Island and were married within a year. Staten Island became our home and like many young couples with enough money and few responsibilities (no kiddos) we explored the food landscape as much as possible. One particular cuisine grew to be our favorite: Thai. A quaint little restaurant called Forest Thai was near our apartment and we oft frequented it for its delicious Thai food at a great price (for NYC anyway). A friend and coworker called it: "cheap and dirty Thai," and I was inclined to agree!! Well, fast forward about 10 years and we moved back to my wife's hometown: Waco! Our move was for a whole host of reasons which I may elaborate on in another post someday. Suffice to say that we were elated to learn that Waco now had a Thai restaurant. We were pumped to try it and Bangkok Royal did not disappointed. My personal favorite dish is the Pad Khing. Phat phrik khing or pad prik king (there are lots of different spellings!) is a type of Thai curry that is drier than other Thai curries. It is fried in oil and does not contain coconut milk like other Thai curries. I just enjoyed a generous helping of this dish over spring break and I already want it again (pictured above). My wife tends to favor the Bangkok Noodle dish and my son and daughter prefer Pad See Ew. We also usually order the Spring Rolls and the Fresh Rolls. The spring rolls are fried and are similar to a Chinese egg roll but have a different flavor. They contain ground chicken, bean thread noodles, and vegetables. The fresh rolls are wrapped in a cold rice paper (I think) and contain shrimp, rice vermicelli, basil, and cilantro Both are served with delectable sauces. I know that a lot of reviews online cite bad service, but we have always had good service here and feel as though the servings are generous, especially if you order carry-out. The atmosphere is inviting and we like to spend a significant amount of time here even taking time to let our food settle and have some great after-dinner discussion (without overstaying our welcome, naturally). The staff never rush us and always continue to fill our drinks.

Had the yellow & green curry. Sorta bland with some heat but not terrible overall. Zaza Thai in McKinney gives 2 cups more curry for the same price with amazing flavors & 0-5 heat level, + 7 types and 7 meat choices. Duck is absolutely amazing

The portions were not comparable to the prices. There seemed to be a lacking of spices/flavor to the dishes as well. The atmosphere is quite nice and the restaurant is attractively decorated. The waitress is extremely polite and friendly but the gentleman who brought the dishes to the table and operated the register appeared to have left his warmth and charm at home.

We visited this place at lunch and the place was busy! Honestly, I expected more for all food we ordered. Nothing stood out. My friends and I all agreed it wasn’t the best and definitely had better. It was okay if you want the real opinion. But the prices were cheap compared to other thai place we normally go to.

The food was okay but the food was exactly expensive. The price were mostly moderate but the tip and tax was $18.00. The food is very exotic and don't try new things.

horribly disappointed. had the pad gra prow (which ive never seen made with green beans), made with frozen vegetable medley. outside the 3 pieces of basil that were on my plate, THERE WAS NOT ONE FRESH VEGETABLES. it was watery from what I assume is the use of frozen bags of vegetables. it was just NOT GOOD. i picked out all the vegetables and just ate the rice & meat. i made this dish the other night at home, and it literally takes 15 minutes & doesn't cost that much to use fresh ingredients. my dining companion had cashew chicken that was par-boiled with zero flavor. you should be offended by what they are serving you at those prices. will not be returning.

Never going back! We were in the Waco area and decided to try the Thai food here. To begin with, the guy that took our order had no interest in doing his job and was reluctant to answer anything. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao (always been a fav dish of mine) based on the reviews of this place and the menu highlighted this as one of their popular dishes. We were utterly disappointed at how the dish looked and tasted. It had a very starchy texture and the noodles were broken into tiny pieces. I have never had pad kee Mao this bad in my life! When we expressed our concern to the server.. his exact words were "we order the noodles from outside, so we cannot guarantee how it will come out. Next time order the thin noodles". We had nothing to say in response to his reaction. Overall a complete disappointment!!
