Coquito Warwick Reviews
Paella was fabulous, flavorful and filling, I took more than half home! My husband's pork was great too, and it was a quiet night when we went, so was very laid back and a great experience
Authentic Latin cuisine in a lively atmosphere. The food was great and servers where very attentive. There was also a DJ after 9pm, so we also danced the night away. Very nice crowd on the dancefloor.
Everything about Coquito is fun and fabulous. From the food to the drinks to the atmosphere to the dance parties. It has a vibe you can't experience any place else.
The food was incredible! So much flavor, can’t wait to come back and try more.
This place never disappoints. They accomodated our party of 20 mostly Puerto Ricans who can be quite picky when going out to eat Puerto Rican food. The monfongo is the best we've had. The churasco, yuca fries, mahi mahi, desserts were all wonderful. The service was great. Highly reccomend!
My 2nd time at this restaurant, after nearly 7 years! Am happy that this place is still around and serving delicious Puerto Rican food in Warwick. I brought my bf here after a busy day in the area, and was happy to see that they had a nice outdoor patio area for al fresco dining. We ate indoors, and were well taken care of by the two servers. Water was given shortly after we were seated. Though, their cocktail menu seemed appealing, we didn't order drinks at this time. We ordered two pork pasteles for appetizers. Though smaller than I'm used to, it was very tasty and we devoured them quickly (no pictures). For entrees, we ordered the chicken creole with a side of yucca fries and pernil with arroz y gandules with a side of maduros. All was very tasty! 😋 I had enough for leftovers, and am happy to enjoy the meal anew. The restaurant itself is well decorated and kept nice-looking. They have a full bar and some booth and table seating. Would be a good outing for couples and groups alike, or solo diners at the bar. The prices are a bit high for the food type, but I do believe that it is worth it given the scarcity of Puerto Rican food in the area. 🇵🇷 Highly recommended.
I’ve been raving about Coquito for over 15 years, and I’m absolutely never let down! The food is not just delicious; it’s a true taste of authenticity that transports you straight to the heart of the Caribbean. As a Dominican living in Orange County, it’s been a challenge to find quality Spanish cuisine, but this gem offers a slice of home that I cherish. And let’s talk about Saturdays! The atmosphere is electrifying, with a DJ spinning an incredible mix of music that creates an unforgettable party vibe, reminiscent of a lively night in NYC but right in my backyard. The drinks are top-notch, and the service is fantastic! It’s an experience that captures the essence of celebration. Don’t miss out on the fun at Coquito!
We went late so didn't order dinner but I wish I found the place sooner. They had a DJ and it was nice to sit at the bar and just hang out. The staff was very attentive and it looked like they had plenty of "regulars". I looked at the menu after closing and saw they had some really good food options, including some vegetarian stuff that I wanted to try. Next time I'm back in this area, I'm absolutely coming here for dinner.
This restaurant never disappoints! The food is consistently outstanding—every dish is full of flavor and flawlessly prepared, time after time. Their Sangria is truly the best I’ve ever had—refreshing, perfectly balanced, and a must-try with every visit. What really sets this place apart is its unwavering excellence over the years. From the warm, attentive service to the inviting ambiance, everything is always just right. It’s rare to find a spot that maintains such high standards year after year, but this one absolutely delivers.
The best steak and shrimp dish anywhere. The empanadas are amazing and the Coquito salad is my wife’s favorite. We’ve been coming here for all sorts of occasions since they opened, multiple times a year and it’s always a great experience, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, and the food is always delicious. My birthday is coming up and this is where we’ll be
Coming in, the restaurant was empty. It still took a while for anyone to come and greet us, so we sat ourselves. We ordered Empanadas 5⭐️ must try Tostones 4 ⭐️ crispy, but lacked flavor Mofongo pork 4⭐️ lacked flavor Mifongo beef 5 ⭐️ Arroz con gandules 4⭐️ lacked flavor Cuban Pork 4⭐️ moist, but lacked flavor. For a Latin cuisine, it lacked the burst of spices that sets it apart. Drinks were good.. Would we go back? Likely not, many other places to try! Should you try it, sure! It's good enough.
This was a fabulous experience. We visited on Saturday, at opening time. We ordered the chorizos in coconut sauce which were delicious and just a bit spicy. The entrées were a pork mofongo and a shrimp mofongo. I am Puertorrican and I can tell you these flavors were authentic and delicious. You must try their guava martini, it’s perfect! Our server, I think her name is Toni, was attentive and gracious. People on here complain about prices. The prices were a bit high, but competitive for the restaurant business. Plus we felt we paid for what we enjoyed, an outstanding meal. Thank you.
We Had a great time again a coquitos! Never a disappointment Delicious food Compliments to the chef🙌 ! Great atmosphere for any celebration! DJ plays music that will keep you on your feet all night long! I don’t mind the traveling because I know me and my friends will never be disappointed! WEPA!
Service was attentive, drinks were sadly not amazing. Steak and sides were seasoned well , not crazy about the arroz con pollo that came in a casserole more rice than the actual chicken 5 cubes of breast. Overall covid did really have an impact on restaurants so you have to take that into account hence the 4 stars. Service was personable Steak and salad was ok : Steak over a spring mix with green sofrito mixed in . Mojitos not so great tasted more like a milky sprite. Parking horrible blocked in with no consideration by a waitress. Will definitely come back and try again with now maybe a more knowledgeable experience on what to order and find better parking. Restaurant is family friendly but priced $$$ : 30$ surf n turf including ny strip. Bartender should look into a cocktail refresher would definitely better the establishment or maybe try fresh juices to switch up the stale taste. Restaurant is well located so it has potential for more....hoping for better designated parking for employees so customers won’t be blocked in. Honest review still thankful for our service ❤️
We started the meal by ordering a pastel for an appetizer and it was underwhelming. The consistency was not right, grainy, almost like grits, but not as soupy and it lacked flavor. We also ordered 2 homemade lemonades that we noticed, later, were billed at $6 each! They were definitely not worth it at $6, or even less, as they tasted more like water than lemonade. We could, hopefully, only go up from here. It did! For our entrees we ordered Lobster Mofongo & Asopao de Res. The mofongo had a good balance of flavors without being overpowered by too much garlic, as some tend to do in their preparation of mofongo. It also had a good amount of lobster pieces in it and came with a sofrito flavored sauce for dipping or pouring. The beef asopao was also tasty and presented and served in a caldero. The entrees came with small side salads that were sprinkled with coconut, but we did not care much for the coconut. It wasn't needed, in our opinion, and felt out of place. We finished our meal by having Tres Leches and Caramel Flan for dessert. Both were good and the tres leches had a hint of rum in it, just enough for you to know it was there, but not overpowering to the overall flavor profile. Overall I do recommend Coquito and I would go back myself.
My family and I recently had dinner at this restaurant, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The place is very clean, which is always a great first impression. For appetizers, my wife and I ordered the chicken empanadas and a shrimp cocktail. The empanadas were delicious, but the shrimp cocktail was fairly standard—nothing extraordinary. For the main course, my kid had a cheeseburger and fries from the kid’s menu and had no complaints, so that’s always a win. My wife had a chicken dish, which she enjoyed and found up to her standards. I ordered the paella for one, and while most of the dish was flavorful, the lobster tail had a strong ammonia taste, which was disappointing. The pricing was reasonable for what we ordered. Overall, it was a decent dining experience, with a few highs and lows. I’d consider coming back, but I’d probably skip the lobster next time.
The restaurant, service and atmosphere were great. The food on the other hand not so much. For the outrageous prices the portions were small and the lack of seasoning for a Latin restaurant was just mind blowing for me. As a Latina the only think I enjoyed were the maduros they were perfectly sweet just like I love them. We had Coquito Pork & Fried Chicken chunks(not your regular chicharrón de pollo). Won’t be going back. Back to searching for a good Latin restaurant in the area
Pricey dishes, Seafood Paella is great and a huge portion (single person). Empanadas were really good…but skip the skewers! $12.95 for a single skewer…not worth it. Yuca fries are delicious! Found food too salty for our taste. Maybe others prefer it…. Very friendly service! 3.5% non cash surcharge…
The quality of the food has diminished. This was our go to restaurant in Warwick for mofongo, but this visit it was bland flavorless. We have noticed that since the restaurant changed owners, several years ago, the food seems to gradually become less authentic tasting. Our waitress was excellent. Attentive and cordial. Don't go through sticker shock. Lunch for two, two empanadas, two entrees, and two soft drinks rang up at a cool $70 dollars. Not sure we will be back.
