The Last Frontier Brewing Co is one of those rare hidden gems. It may sit right off the main road, but once you step inside, you feel transported. The atmosphere carries a quiet, old-country charm that feels deeply Alaskan and refreshingly authentic. There’s a warmth here that’s hard to find. It feels family-oriented, grounded, and genuine. I’ve visited several times and have never had a bad meal. The food is consistently excellent, and the beer selection is agreeable. I sincerely hope the restaurant continues to lean into what makes it special. Not every place needs to follow the trends of other popular restaurants in town. In my experience, when restaurants shift their identity to copy what seems popular, the quality and customer experience often become inconsistent, and loyal customers notice. What sets Last Frontier apart is that strong, country Alaska vibe that feels welcoming and rooted in community. If I had one suggestion, it would be to elevate the bar area. With the right vision, that space could become a true centerpiece and really amplify the frontier character that already makes this place so unique. Please keep the family feel. It’s rare, and it’s worth preserving.

Traveled in from Valdez….Walking in and hearing quaint but lively live music was a great vibe. Families and Friday night crowds alike gathering for what smelt like great food! They accommodated our 5 person table as quick as they could with clean and very friendly and fast service. The best pizza I’ve had in quite a while!!! You can definitely tell it’s homemade w/good quality ingredients. Great beer options! Would DEFINITELY recommend and would love to go back. The Calimari App was 🤤 Goooo you won’t be disappointed, our server was Mr. Andrew, he was AWESOME!! 👏 Loved the atmosphere!! 🤙

Every time I come here, the quality of the burgers are always great! Still the best burgers in the valley. I appreciate the portions with pattys at a 1/2 pound and cooked correctly, the buns are a great choice, veggies are fresh, and the fries are great. More so, over the past few years we’ve had the male server. He is very consistent with outstanding service. He has always been conscientious while I’ve had my children with me, and made sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive. Give that guy a raise.

Oh my goodness... your Andrew is exceptional server. As a couple who worked in the restaurant business as General Manager and Trainer we know how hard it is to get good servers. Let us just say.. if we were still in the business.... man oh man .. we would scoop Andrew up. Thank you Andrew for a wonderful evening meal experience.. even with too much garlic.. he tool great care of us.. and he took great care of all of his tables. Well done, Andrew. Thank you Bob & Sarita

The ribeyes were perfectly cooked! Our waiter Andrew gave us friendly and professional service. Calamari was also cooked right. Very happy with food and service.

Let’s break this down into two categories. Food: The food was good. This is not intended as a complaint. I’d have preferred the burger been a 1/4 or 1/3 pound burger instead of 1/2 pound. It was simply too much. The burger was good, no complaints. The only critique would be to have sandwich pickles as well as the spear pickles. That way you can put them on the burger. But again, not a complaint. The fries are on point. I’m not a fry guy. I ate all my fries. Service: Second to none. We had Andrew, and I don’t know if it is possible that he could have done a better job. He was attentive, not overly intrusive, and friendly all throughout. Our drinks were never empty, he never rushed us and we never had to wait. We were overly impressed with his service. This may be (it is) my new fave in the Valley for this type of food. 50% tip!

We came here for our anniversary as an impromptu date and are so glad we did! Our server Andrew was amazingly attentive and had the best attitude. The hostess was also friendly and attentive (we sat right next to the hostess stand). The food is great with large portions and I HIGHLY recommend the bourbon bread pudding. Thanks Last Frontier for a great 14th anniversary lunch!

I don’t go to wasilla often, but I would definitely consider it just to eat here. Came in on a Saturday afternoon, immediately and warmly greeted and seated by the hostess Hillary, our server Andrew was very friendly and attentive. The food came out fast and fresh. My girlfriend and I each got 2 different beers just so we could try each others as they all sounded good, and they didn’t disappoint. The Russian imperial stout was incredible, grubstake stout was dope. The light and dark lagers were excellent. And the halibut sandwiches we got, were exceptional. All in all I’m excited for dessert I just had to post a review while I’m still here because they deserve to be recognized for their good food, great beers, and awesome employees.

Had a great meal in June, 2025. Our server was Sanci Rae, and she and the other staff were amazing. She warned us the portions were big and SHE WASN'T WRONG. Excellent fish and chips. The 8 of us had a wonderful time and an amazing meal. Would highly recommend this place.

Great place definitely worth the stop. I had their version of a mushroom Swiss burger and thought it was well seasoned and tasted great. The lightly breaded fries were good too. And to top off the great meal, the service was very good.

Service!! Service!! Service !!! I can't say enough about the Service that was given by Garret on my first visit and Andrew on my second visit they were both so Amazing!!! The food was fresh and packed full of flavor. Portion sizes are more than enough to satisfy even the largest of appetites. I definantly recommend The Last Frontier Brewing Company for an awesome dining experience.

Lunch in wassilla - today I went for the Reuben and fries ...excellent! THIS is a perfect Reuben! And the fries really topped it off, perfectly battered and crispy. Jess had teriyaki wings...1 lb is about 8 (actual chicken wings). Their beer selection was on point too with several of my preferred darker options!! Didn't even have a chance to test their pizza, but next time we will!

The staff was very friendly and attentive. The Hungarian mushroom soup was absolutely scrumptious! I had the Buffalo chicken salad, The homemade Buffalo sauce was very good. My husband had the Kenai sandwich with fries, he took home half for lunch the following day. The restaurant was clean, and cozy, with its log decor and metal work. I recommend it!

(Edit) - I felt so strongly I called in to talk to the manager to ease my mind. Tracy listened and was very understanding. I raised my star rating based on every other great experience I’ve had. Tracy did offer me a discount but it wasn’t about that. I just wanted to be heard. I didn’t take the discount so this review isn’t paid for. Original - Loved coming here until….we sat down with a couple friends and had a pleasant evening. Our food was delicious and we came to have a good meal and talk with our friends about life. Our friends left and as our waitress was cleaning our table she blindsided me with a complaint that we were rude and we were impatient. The only thing our table ever asked for was 2 forks, ketchup, and the bill. I was so caught off guard by what she was saying I asked if she was talking to me. She said it was the whole table. We were so involved in our conversation maybe we couldn’t hear if she asked how we were doing. (They did put us right next to the dang piano player.) I loved going here. But maybe I’ll find another favorite place to get my prime rib. Andrew….your fantastic. Kitchen staff, the food is top notch. I’m just thankful she let me know there was a disagreement before I left the tip. I just can’t imagine what we said that was rude to warrant being called out like we were.

This is my wife's uncles favorite restaurant to get takeout from, he really enjoys the fish and chips. My wife and I have eaten here a number of times and the staff is always extremely friendly, the proportions of the food can be wildly different depending on what you order but are generally large. I think that it is also one of the more expensive places you can dine at in the valley but has a nice wide array of foods so if you go with a large group or a picky eater there's enough things on the menu somebody is always going to be happy. I think in some ways this is their greatest asset and potentially their weakness, which is nothing seems to be incredibly special, but certainly nothing is bad. The beers on tap are their own separate story, I am specifically talking about the food. Definitely worth a try and for what it's worth I think they have the largest jalapeno poppers on planet Earth!

Great prime rib dinner. Server was very friendly and knowledgeable. Live music started at 6 p.m. We really enjoyed our dinner.

Burger was so-so and came out overdone. Fish tacos were good. Not sure if I got the beer I ordered (ordered an IPA but tasted and looked more like a stout). Staff are all super friendly and nice. Atmosphere is nice. Live music was an unexpected but welcome surprise!

We had a group of 8 and even though they were busy, they sat us and our server took great care of us. Not a long wait for drinks or to order. I ordered potato skins for the table and they were REALLY good. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, and even though it was messed up, my replacement came out so fast! Our server was great and I will go here again.

Located just down the road from Bearpaw River, Last Frontier Brewing Company is a true locals’ watering hole in Wasilla. This family-run brewpub embodies the Alaskan spirit, serving up hearty food, friendly service, and a solid lineup of craft beers that keep both residents and visitors coming back. Our favorite beer here was Goldmint, an unfiltered hefeweizen that’s bursting with banana and clove notes. It’s a classic take on the style and pairs perfectly with the hearty entrees on the menu. If you’re dining in, we highly recommend ordering one of their steak dishes with a side of garlic mashed potatoes. It’s comfort food done right, and even better when accompanied by a flight of their house brews. The atmosphere at Last Frontier is warm and welcoming, with a large bar and plenty of friendly locals and bartenders happy to strike up a conversation. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint, a meal, or both, this brewpub offers a laid-back vibe. For those traveling through Wasilla, Last Frontier Brewing Company is a must-visit destination for great beer, delicious food, and a taste of true local flavor.

We had lunch at Last Frontier Brewing Co. in Wasilla after scoping out a couple breweries—this one won out since the other spot only had pizza and the reviews here looked promising. The draft list leaned heavily toward IPAs, which aren’t our thing, so we went with iced tea. I ordered the elk burger (medium rare), and wife went for the Italian Sub. Both came with fries. Service was excellent—friendly—but the food fell short. My elk burger was overcooked and served on a thick, not-so-fresh bun. Her sub was mostly bread, light on the meat and flavor. As for the fries, they were overdone and had that unmistakable “shared with fish” aftertaste from the fryer. All in all, great service and a nice atmosphere, but the kitchen didn’t quite deliver.

Stumbled onto this place just passing through town. I'm from Kansas and was looking forward to some good food. Customer service, 5 stars. The waitress and another gentleman were excellent, kind and prompt with everything. We ordered the Beer battered mushrooms as an appetizer, with the "Don't Kiss Me" Burger and Fish Tacos. Both had fries. The mushrooms were very good! The blue cheese and green onion sprinkles added some great texture and taste. The burger wasn't terrible. The pattie had no seasoning at all but was cooked as ordered. It was a bit of a let down for the price. The fish tacos had, surprisingly, cheddar cheese and black beans which didn't really work with it. The tacos were also swimming in sauce which became the only flavor that was detectable. The fries were the rockstar of the meal. Perfect temp, crunch and salting. Overall it wasn't a bad experience at all, but some changes and training would really do well for them to justify menu pricing.

food was good, margarita pizza was 9/10, calamari was a good 7/10, the customer service tho, was lacking. our waitress never once came to ask how our food was, the wait time was extremely long to where we almost left. atmosphere was chill, the host was funny and nice. only problem was with waitress:)

The mushrooms were not very good, but the Buffalo wings were excellent. My husband had their prime rib special, and he said it was great. I got the halibut and chips with onion rings instead of fries. The halibut was good, but the onion rings were too greasy, and all I could taste was the beer batter. They had live music and the only table available was right in front of the one man band. We had a really hard time hearing each other. The service was average.

Been going for years, but the special prime rib has been sub par for the last 3 times. The prime rib was very dry and not good at all. The prices are way too high now for sub par prime rib. Time to look for another option or restaurant. Save your money.

This was our first time dining at Last Frontier Brewing. The service was extremely slow. A waitress told the table beside us that the kitchen was about to close so they had to get their order in. It wasn’t even close to closing time. Regardless, you need your patrons, so I find it disappointing that they would even make that comment. The food and beer was mediocre at best, but the prices were SHOCKING!! You are a brewery/pub, not fine dining! Not even close. • Overpriced menu • Slow service • Rude staff • Mediocre food & beer We won’t be returning to Late Frontier Brewing. I recommend Susitna Brewing Company as an alternative.

Restaurant nearly empty. We sat down and waited 25 minutes before being able to order drinks other than water. And after we ordered our food it was nearly an hour wait to get the food. Had the garden variety burger and the onions were rancid tasting and gave the burger a horrible taste. Let our server know about the food mishap and her response was “okay? I’ll try the kitchen know” very poor service. Poor food quality. Way Over priced. Never going back again.
