Everything was great from the time we walked in. The host was very friendly. Jamal and Nani were awesome. The manager stopped by and was very friendly. We are definitely going to make this our regular Saturday night hangout.

We hadn't been to Applebee's in years because it always smelled like a wet rag. I think they always used the same rag to "clean" the tables. But, we acquiesced and went recently because that's where friends of ours wanted to meet. Ya'll! It was awesome!! Our food was SO good!! The service was great as well!! And, it doesn't smell bad anymore! We will definitely put Applebee's back on our dining out list! While it is a chain, the McKinney location was a great place to go for fun and food!! I highly recommend it!

Very few staff working a dinner rush, but the waitress we had was so sweet, super attentive and never let our drinks go empty. Their sampler appetizer was beyond yummy! The quesadilla burger was mouth watering good, Ill prob get it several more times.

My family for 5 went to eat lunch around 2pm on a Sat. They have a 1/2 off select appetizers, we ordered the chicken quesadillas, boneless wings, & mozzarella sticks. Food came out fast and was cooked properly.

Been coming to Applebee's for years. A new bartender his name is Timothy has been a great new addition. He has great energy very polite always ahead never need to wait for a drink. The food here is outstanding always on point. They have new choices monthly it seems and always delicious. All polite and courteous staff. I have never see any customer complain when I was there. Also there is a manager named Jose very nice guy dedicates his life to Applebee's.

I forgot to mention our server was Channa and she was really attentive and nice to us. It was a bit chilly in there but after getting our sweaters from the car we were very comfortable. I'd rather have it that way than too warm.

I recently visited Applebee’s and let me tell you… it was a bit of a rollercoaster, but in the best way possible. When we first walked in, we quickly realized the restaurant was running on what felt like “extreme minimal staffing mode.” There was only one waitress and a bartender holding down the fort. We waited about 10–15 minutes to get seated and attended, which honestly felt longer because we were hungry and staring at other people’s food like it was a live cooking show. You could tell the place needed backup support — especially when our waitress asked for help and didn’t get it. That part was a little awkward to witness. Now here’s where things turn around. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. Despite being clearly overwhelmed, she stayed friendly, attentive, and professional the entire time. She did everything she possibly could to make sure we were taken care of. Drinks were refilled, orders were correct, and she kept checking on us even while juggling multiple tables. She deserves serious credit for keeping the experience positive. And the food? Surprisingly fantastic. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. From appetizers to the main course, it definitely hit the spot and made the short wait worth it. Overall, the food quality and our waitress’s effort saved the day. Management might want to look into better staffing during busy hours, but shoutout to the hardworking server who truly carried the experience. We’ll definitely be back — hopefully with a few extra hands on deck next time!

I was welcomed instantly and my server his name was Stephen was real down to earth he explained the menu and gave me different options because I just didn’t know what I was in the mood for. It wasn’t too busy and it wasn’t too slow and yet he still took his time to make sure I was satisfied As I was sitting and in deep thought the manager came up to me and ask if I were ok I told her yes and I also told her I needed that because of the day I had. It’s not everyday that someone asks me am I just Ok Although I wasn’t ok and in deep thought I appreciated this young lady for asking Usually a manager is asking what’s wrong if we were to complain about something not being right As I sat and watch her interact with other people I knew she cared about the experience we were having. I never write reviews but if the powers that be see this I want you to know how professional she was how kind and caring she was and for that reason alone I will be coming back into your establishment. I believe her name was Sheina or Shera I do apologies if I butchered her name. The food was delicious as well I had the Fiesta lime chicken which is one of my favorites.

While the drink was delicious, it was supposed to have alcohol in it, and neither of us really tasted that at all. The appetizer comes w/ 4....and I could of probably eaten 8 of these. The service was kind of poor however the guy serving us seemed bothered to be at work. Also, it was so cold inside. I wish I would of wore a sweatshirt. It was 75 outside, and stepped outside like twice to warm up.

She ordered the 6oz steak that was cooked to perfection sides were also great. I had the fiesta lime chicken, which was also wonderful. We were quite surprised at our experience. it was a last minute stop on nov 24 so happy that it was open. There wasnt a big crowd but around 20 patrons. Waitress was really nice but her tables were all set pretty far apart so would take her a few minutes tonget back to table. Not a big deal. The issue is quality of food. We ordered the turkey plate, the whiskey burger and the chicken Alfredo pasta. It was possibly worse food I've had in last 10 years. The food was definitely not hot, and it was just so bland. The pasta was a watery cheese texture and didn't even finish it. Sorry AB, I don't think I can ever go back, respectfully.

On 1/8/25, I placed an online order to go, and when I arrived I called for curbside. A young lady answered the phone and I gave her my name for pick up, and she said "let me check on this for you", she then placed the receiver down on the counter (not on hold) and walked away for 13 minutes. When I walked inside there was no one at the counter so I went to the bar and patiently waited for the server at the bar to finish assisting the customers he was attending. He looked at me several times but never once addressed or acknowledged me. I walked away and approached a young lady who was new at the to go counter and asked for help with my order and indicated that I had been left of the phone that was off the hook. She just laughed and picked up the receiver and placed it back on the counter and said she would go check. She came back and told me that it was being packed up right now. I waited another 10 minutes when a gentleman who appeared to be the manager asked if I had been helped, I told him what happened and he immediately apologized and went to check. He came back and informed me that part of my order was unavailable, not done and packed as the young lady stated. He quickly got my order and substitution and provided me with a complementary to go beverage and was apologetic. I wanted to make you aware the the training opportunities in the restaurant

1/2/2025 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ We visited Applebee’s this evening, and overall, it was just okay. 🤷‍♂️ The restaurant was nearly empty, even though it was a little after 7 PM, and the bar was completely dead. 🍸❌ I had the Fiesta Lime Chicken 🌶️🍗, and while it was edible, the quality of the meat left a lot to be desired—if you can even call it meat. 🤔 Prices keep going up, but the quality keeps going down, a trend that seems to have worsened since Covid. It’s really making me prefer cooking at home over dining out these days. 🍳🏠 My wife had the Oriental Chicken Salad 🥗, and she actually enjoyed it quite a bit—she rated it a 4/5! 👍 Emily, our server, was really nice and made the experience much better with her friendly attitude and great service. 😊🍴 While the food and atmosphere were lacking, her kindness deserves recognition. Thanks, Emily! 🌟

The dining area was not too busy but the bar was quite crowded. I was seated at the bar; there were about 15 guests seated around the bar top. The bartender greeted me immediately and asked me what drink to order. I asked for the menu so she passed one to me. Then, it took her 8 minutes to come back asking me what to order. It seemed not showing a good hospitality in bartending. Breaking Rock Rita and Chicken Wonton Tacos were ordered. She poured the mixed drink into the martini glass and placed both martini glass and the shaker tin in front of me. The presentation was good with the ocean blue color. However, it tasted too sweet; it let me feel I was drinking the syrup not the alcoholic cocktail. The chicken wonton tacos tasted delicious as expected; it’s the good snack. I noticed the bartender always use her fingers to grab something (fruit, candy, etc.) to put into the drink instead of using the tongs. Not good impression on the drink/food preparation and hygiene. The restaurant interior looked clean generally. There were about 6 TVs at the side and one large TV in the center of the bar. One out of them was off; it’s probably broken. The hockey game, basketball game and tennis match were playing on TVs. There TVs in a row at the side from my view were all playing exactly the same game. The bartender or the manager should have noticed it and changed to different channels, but it seemed they didn’t. The restroom looked fine but small and a bit smelled. Lots of water stain on the floor.

We’re paying customers coming to Applebee’s and we expected a fun, welcoming environment. It was frustrating that we weren’t allowed to play our own music. Aaron, can we at least enjoy the music we want? The speakers were locked, and that really killed the vibe. If we’re paying to be here, we should have a say in the atmosphere. This could easily be a four-star place if guests were given a little more freedom.

We waited forever to be seated then another wait for service. Food took a long time to come out even though they weren’t that busy. Drinks were never refilled. They needed a manager visible to help them. Disappointed

The food was good, I got the hot honey chicken. However I had a terrible time getting our servers attention, whether it was just trying to get napkins or getting the check. The music was very loud and it was difficult to hear the people right next to you. It was also really cold, and our server didn't offer to even ask to get the air turned warmer.

Food is always good, but the table is always dirty. Table was sticky. We asked for it to be cleaned and they did wipe it down, but it was still dirty.

I would say my online order experience was, mediocre. I placed my order to be ready by 7pm and I arrived at 7:05. A couple of minutes later I was greeted and was told my order was getting bagged up. 13 minutes later I had to ask another server about my order and finally I recieved it, and was given a sorry excuse of an apology. I payed $50 for 2 meals, why do I have to care about thier troubles? I'm the customer, I should not have to feel sorry. How hard is it to hand off the order? As I'm about to put the order in my car, I noticed the bag was a greasy mess. I was not putting that in my car. Also the fries got cold from sitting too long. I went back inside and told them my issues. They gave me a new bag that was clean and fresh hot fries. They shouldve also gave me more fries or ribs or perhaps a discount for my troubles. I lost almost a half an hour of my time just to pick up my order. I got to say, I dont have these troubles with Asain or Mexican restuarants. American restaurants are dead. Even picking up for DoorDash and Uber is a nightmare. Overpriced for what? Rubbish And I was ripped off on fries. See picture: Dont tip this restaurant on online orders. They dont care. Won't make a difference. Matter of fact, dont place online orders at all. I wont ever again! Ribs were really good tho. That is why they get 2 stars.

Order the trio appetizers and it was all room temp almost cold (took over 20 min to come out) my husband ordered the burger (pink) with the sauce on the side and the burger was burnt. My husband and I visit this location often. I made a complaint to the DM (I believe) some time ago. The bar top is sticky and nasty. If you look into the bar area, it looks like there is mold growth. The bar top on one side is also broken. I can't believe they can't invest in making this place a little cleaner and better. A change would make such a huge difference! Sorry for the long rant. We went last week and wanted to sit in an area where there were televisions, but not at the bar. We were told that area was closed, even though there were already people sitting in the area. (They were there when we walked in and still there as we were leaving.) Was told bar area was open. Sat at a booth in bar area. Apparently, we were not supposed to sit there either! After being ignored for a while, manager finally came over and took our order. Before we even received our food, they sat another couple in the (lop sided table, that rocks back and forth) next to us. So, that area is open now? Service there has always been so, so. Food, ok, not great! We like it because it's laid back atmosphere. However, this last visit ruined it for us. The manager was nice but at the same time made us feel unwanted. Lastly, having a hostess is a joke for this restaurant during non busy hours. She should be helping at tables. I can't even remember a time were we were sat at a table and then had to ask someone for a menu and/or silverware (or get up and get it ourselves.) Never at the door when you walk in and I have no idea what they are being paid to do. The lady bartender with short hair is great! I will miss stopping by, but I can't anymore. Manager, DM, owners really need to go take a deep look into how this restaurant has been falling apart!

We had a good time environment was great service was not. We sat ourselves and we didn't receive menu's till 10 min later at the table. Food was not brought till another 37 min later. Ordered here before as dine and I've gotten the "Perfect Margarita" the first that I received was Perfect. Upon receiving the 2nd it was more juice & did not have the same flavor. Decided not to make it an issue so I let waiter know so I can get it replaced and they brought me another have empty. I am real critique specifically if I will spending over 150 in Dinner for my family. I Ordered the steak with loaded potatoes and the steak was extremely over cooked no flavor whatsoever. I was highly unsatisfied with our Dinner. And I hope they are able to change that. Left pretty upset over the situation.

It's been over a decade since I been to applebee's, and now I remember why. The food was horrible. Our waitress was nice but would forget things easily (not a big deal), but more importantly, the food was just nasty. My wife ordered the ribeye mid rare and it came medium. the steak was so thin it would be hard to cook it correctly anyway.

It was overcooked and it didn't taste right. Fries were ice cold. I had the riblets. My fries were ice cold and chewy. The ribs were terrible. Today was supposed to be a special day. Thank you so much for ruining my daughter's birthday dinner. We were extremely disappointed in our service, the food, and the waitress who was disrespectful and talked to me like I'm stupid. Our total bill was $61.86 and for that we waited much too long for our salads. When they came, they were stale and so were the croutons. We were served salads at the same time we received our steaks. My steak was not to my liking but I know better than to complain. Everything had been oversalted. Waitress opted to use the salads as a replacement for the mashed potatoes and did not explain I would be charged for both. The server did not explain that I would still be paying the full price anyway. She was snippy and stated the menu explained it very clearly. Which was news to me because I saw nothing and she did not offer to get a menu and show me. Normally, this is my go to restaurant. But I will not be back to this location. I've had crummy service in this location but things normally improve before my next visit. I've been disappointed in some of the food. But today, was the last time. I WON'T GIVE YOU ANOTHER CHANCE.

Food was not good. The chicken was rubbery. But the main reason why I rated one star is because there was staff just sitting at a table for majority of the time we were here. One staff member was so loud and obnoxious that we couldn’t enjoy our meal. He was up yelling and clapping at a football game. He would get up and pace around while yelling. They were strict about having only one shooter in a bucket drink but the manager was allowing his staff to be so obnoxious and disruptive.

Just received delivery order via UberEats. Ordered well done steak but steak was burnt, can’t eat. Poor presentation as food look soggy. What a waste of my money. Ribs also tasted old, like a day old food. I can’t believe I wasted a lot of money on food that tastes like trash.

Came here around 2 pm on a Saturday. Total of 8 people in the restaurant when we arrived. Got seated right away and then no one ever came and served us. Hostess on her phone. Waitress organizing silverware. Two other waitresses sitting down on their phone. So after 10 min we got up and left and the hostess was still on her phone. Very strange atmosphere. First and last time at this location.

Highly disappointed. Came in for the 2 for 25 deal for my super hot dinner date, and was served old, cold food... 😬 I was baffled considering how slow they were, even so, I kindly asked if it could be replaced with a fresh one, and they microwaved it and served it to us again. 🤦‍♂️ At that point, my date was ready to leave, and so was I. 😩 Not to mention, I was pretty dumbfounded whenever I canceled my 2 for 25 order and requested that I only pay for what we ate and it was still $20 for some cheese sticks, a water, and a tea. 😑 My server was kind. It was an otherwise, awful experience and I don't plan on returning anytime soon. 👎👎👎

My server wasnt very pleasent, I felt rushed to order, rushed to hurry and eat like he was in a hurry. On top of that I had the hickory smoke bacon burger it was horrible.

Sheena is a trash GM it’s very unfortunate cause the Bartenders were awesome.. It’s Christmas Eve and I’m sitting here at the Applebees bar right you.. Sheena allowed the ticket times to get to 45 minutes.. my neighbor waited an hour to get his combo appetizer.. I waited 50 minutes to get the Tacos.. Bartender Tyler and Stephon were fantastic management is trash.. gut it and start over this is the reason this Applebees has always been trash..

They gave me old or expired food. It had a smell that was odd but I thought it was maybe due to being in the container. It had a metallic and an old fishy taste. I almost puked 🤮. Last order.

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience at Applebee’s. We ordered a dessert, and the ice cream was literally melted when it arrived at our table — not slightly soft, but completely runny and ruined. When we brought this up, the waiter dismissed it like it was no big deal, showing absolutely no concern for the poor service or the quality of the food. To make matters worse, the treatment we received felt outright disrespectful, with hints of racial bias that were impossible to ignore. The waiter was cold, inattentive, and treated other tables far better than ours, making the experience even more uncomfortable. We came here expecting a decent meal and left with a bitter taste, not from the food, but from the service. If Applebee’s values its reputation, it needs to seriously rethink how it trains its staff to treat all customers with respect.

Via Delivery, Full slab of ribs was burnt and dry. Missing Cole Slaw as well. Ordered 2 Oriental Chicken Salads. Each were Half-Sized what you would get if dining in.

This place is horrible, please don't every bring your family to the place. Service sucks. No beer was available on a Saturday at 5pm. Wow. The crowd is not the best as well. If you are just looking for a day to eat and have a snack i wouldn't recommend this Applebee's

Horrible service. Targeted by gay server with a nasty attitude, as he apparently did not want to serve my table.. I mean why work if you don’t want to make money? 🤔 Purposely made me wait long periods of time to take any type of order, in an empty restaurant at that. Walked away as many times as he could, even as I was giving him my order and just laughed when I told him the drink he served me was not good at all. He told his manager who came over and lied saying “All alcohol beverages are final sale” after I just saw him refund a similar water down cocktail to the table next to me. Their loss, I’m a valuable customer! Should’ve went to Chilis 🌶️ definitely am going forward. 😂

Went today to eat. First off heater was broken but understandable due to Icy weather. The place wasn’t too busy at alll. Came in with my niece and her boyfriend it took the bartender 20 minutes to even acknowledge us. We had to ask him to come over to us and then he was too busy looking for a drink. He didn’t know how to make in this non-organized stack of papers. I’m assuming that they had recipes in them for drinks. He told us just a minute that he had to find us so we sat there. Finally got a drink made our order and then never spoke to us again I had to ask him if my friend could get another beer because it had been sitting there empty with no acknowledgment whatsoever from the gentleman behind the bar. Finally, he got him another drink, and then our food got there not long after and it was cold. This was probably the shittiest service I have ever gotten in my life if I ever walk into that Applebee’s again and that young man is bartending I will turn around and walk out very very unimpressed with the service today and that’s too bad because I’m a pretty good tipper but not today we walked out After we spoke to the manager and he said everything was on him so my opinion if a young African-American man is bartending, do not go in there and expect good service from him. Well, maybe if he knows you because he just seemed like he talked to his friends the whole time. Bad Applebee’s bad bad

We went here today, Thanksgiving day, because they were the only restaurant we could find open. We would have gotten a better meal at Whataburger! There were 3 of us. We each ordered the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner, $16.99 each. Turkey, dressing, gravy, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was the worst food I have ever eaten. It was like a nasty cold TV dinner! It was cold, with a few little drizzles of gravy. I asked for more gravy and the waitress brought me a quarter size black container that was 1/4 filled, lol. Needless to say we will NEVER COME BACK TO THIS APPLEBEES RESTAURANT. I'm waiting for food poisoning to set in. DISGUSTING SLOP

Absolutely the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. We walked in Noone bothered to greet us. Eventually a hostess showed us to our table. We were ready to order and nobody even came to take our drink order. Which usually happens pretty quickly at most restaurants so we just sat and sat and waited and waited. Our waiter was kind but had the worst experience here ever. Then they brought the bill to us and never said where or when to pay so again waited and waited and then I hear the hostess acting like we were trying to walk out... and I did get upset after everything combined. With service like that I should've walked out but I wouldn't do that. And to basically be accused of it Absolutely had me livid. Applebees in Mckinney... I never leave town I'm from Sherman. That was our special date night and it was completely ruined.

Update...09/30/2025... Thought I'd give it one more chance so stopped by about 5:00 p.m. for early dinner... Ordered the 8 oz steak with shrimp $24.95... Don't know what happened to the 8 oz but it turned out more like a four... Ordered mashed potatoes and wanted broccoli but there was no broccoli or green beans and I had to settle for just zucchini... Which really doesn't go with the meal, at least to me. I can't believe a restaurant that doesn't have vegetables. I ordered a Dr Pepper and never got it... The person who seated me and took my order , didn't even come back to see if I needed any water. Looked mostly the waiters just stood around talking...Then my waiter was changed over to a gentleman, on closing out... Who was more attentive. Ordered the steak medium rare and it came out medium... But that's it for me... These two visits, the place was pretty much empty...Sad, it used to be bustling and had really good food and service. ____________________________________________ It has certainly changed over the years...

Update one more time, a year later: Food has gone downhill. Anything fried was too hard to chew. The fries tasted like old cardboard according to my partner, my child could not eat their chicken tenders because they were too crunchy. My rice in my grilled chicken was very dry and hard to swallow. The burgers were dry, the boneless wings were also too hard to chew. And they were a little salty. Overall it was a terrible experience and we paid over $65 for four people but two of them were only kids meals. Very outrageous prices for the portions and the taste. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to pay an arm and a leg. It's much better at Chili's. Update: I came back 3 years later. My rating is still a 3 out of 5. For three meals, two being kids meals- was a little over $30. My steak was pretty puny for the price, and very chewy even though I asked for a medium rare. The mashed potatoes were a little too salty for my liking. The fries taste it all right for my children. The mac and cheese was a little dry I had to add my own milk when I got home. The waitress was nice and attentive though. So I'll give her credit for that. I'm not really sure why a lot of these places are four stars. ___________________________________ A bit pricey. 47 dollars for 4 people, but one was a kids meal. The food was alright. Breadsticks had a little too much salty garlic seasoning on them. The cheese on the lime chicken was a little too much. Honestly didnt know there would be cheese on it at all. Chicken strips were a little on the dry side. Mac and cheese wasnt that cheesy. Mostly the macaroni with very little cheese sauce. The waiter was attentive and nice. But overall not the greatest.
